== DELETED! ==

I feel like such a hipocrit. A few days ago, I nominated the Homestar Runner page on wikiquote.org for Deletion. Voting closes 10/9/2013, so there is still time to save it, if you hurry! --{{User:ToaJuaraevo01/sig1}} 16:57, 8 October 2013 (UTC)
:I don't especially care, but [[Wikiquote:Wikiquote:Votes for deletion/Homestar Runner|here's the link]] in case anyone else does. What would be needed to save that page? Adding links to all the toons each quote came from? — [[User:It's dot com|It's dot com]] 17:23, 8 October 2013 (UTC)

== Chronology? ==

I've always wanted to put together a list of all HomestarRunner.com-related items in chronological order. I wish the dvds were like that. I'd love to sit down and watch everything in order (toons intertwined with sbemails, etc.) and catch the references in the right order. Is there any page that has this already? If not, I think it could be an interesting project... An interesting project that I myself would never attempt. Ha! That's why I come to you. Maybe someone out there would want to do this. --[[User:EricTheDerek|EricTheDerek]] 18:18, 12 October 2013 (UTC)
:[[All Toons]] has what you need. (I've been doing that myself lately). {{User:DeFender1031/sig}} 18:53, 12 October 2013 (UTC)

== Store? ==

The store is black up? Fantastic! (I feel like making a Doctor Who-related comment, but I'm going to keep quiet) --{{User:ToaJuaraevo01/sig1}} 14:26, 2 December 2013 (UTC)

== Assorted links to Wikipedia articles in bio pages ==

In some bio pages, especially [[The Ugly One]]'s, there are links to Wikipedia pages on [[Wikipedia:hygiene|hygiene]] and even [[Wikipedia:ugliness|ugliness]]. Are these links desirable to have? Are they useful? What are some others' opinions on the matter? {{User:MichaelXX2/sig}} 15:00, 13 December 2013 (UTC)

:My fourth grade teacher used to say,"If you aren't peeing, bleeding, or barfing, you probably don't have too serious an issue." I say it's not doing any harm being there. Some people don't know what hygiene is. I'm talking to you, Mothmouth. [[Special:Contributions/75.83.32.148|75.83.32.148]] 02:07, 18 May 2015 (UTC)

== Yes yes, need some assistance with getting an account ==
My old username on this Wiki, which I haven't used since October 2011 but want to resume using now (under that name) is SuperbowserX (http://www.hrwiki.org/wiki/Special:Contributions/SuperbowserX). Unfortunately for me, I forgot the password. I tried to have it resend a new password TWICE (due to the 24hr a day limit), but it didn't send the password reset form at all. Even worse, when I emailed the admin@hrwiki.org account, I later got THIS:

"

This is an automatically generated Delivery Status Notification

THIS IS A WARNING MESSAGE ONLY.

YOU DO NOT NEED TO RESEND YOUR MESSAGE.

Delivery to the following recipient has been delayed:

admin@hrwiki.org

Message will be retried for 2 more day(s)

"

Anyway, so I'm in need of someone who can help. 3 things:
1) Can anyone verify whether or not the email address associated with that account is "nintendo_waluigi@hotmail.com"? I still have access to that email but I've changed to (and am planning to change SuperbowserX to) "subscriber0101@gmail.com"/

2) Does anyone have an explanation for why the password reset form didn't send (assuming that the associated email account is that email)?

3) Is admin@hrwiki.org still a valid email address to contact.

:I have fixed the issue with the email. Please try to send your password reset again. -- [[User:Tom|Tom]] 01:50, 10 January 2014 (UTC)

:I did it and it said reset; unfortunately, the 3 backlogged password resets got sent again. The 3 I failingly sent showed, but the one I just requested didn't. Tryin again tomorro

== Why so slow? ==

I came back now that there's a new update, and the site is incredibly slow. I didn't notice anything on [[HRWiki:A_History|the history page]] about the site being having bandwidth decreased or anything. So what's up?

Yes, I know the site is free and has no advertising, even for its own maintenance. But I also know I had no problems with speed on the site back in December after the last update. {{User:Trlkly/sig}} 23:22, 2 April 2014 (UTC)

:It's running a lot faster now. Did you fix it? {{User:Trlkly/sig}} 05:52, 3 April 2014 (UTC)

== Browser IRC not working ==

When I try to enter the browser IRC, it says my "security settings have blocked applications with an expired or not yet valid certificate from running". Anyone know what to do? {{User:Wasd98/sig}} 20:23, 15 July 2014 (UTC)

== Speed ==

Is it just me, or has the Wiki been slow for the last couple of days? {{User:RickTommy/sig}} 06:56, 30 September 2014 (UTC)

== Strong Bad Official Twitter? ==

In recent days a [https://twitter.com/StrongBadActual twitter account] has surfaced purporting to be Strong Bad. Content includes doodles on The Paper and old computer equipment. There is compelling evidence that is is being managed by [[The Brothers Chaps]] and is updating regularly. The avatar for the twitter account is a picture of the one-of-a-kind Strong Bad Puppet and a [[Store Toys#Kick The Cheat|Kick the Cheat]] doll that does not exist anywhere else. Furthermore [[Craig Zobel]] retweeted the first tweet from this account [https://twitter.com/craigzobel here]. I think this is enough to include this new development here on the wiki. Do you? {{User:Bassbone/sig}} 20:52, 30 September 2014 (UTC)

I think it should be noted, definitely. It also seems to indicate that those new toons we were promised earlier this year are very close to being aired! {{User:Open Source Greg/sig}} 05:16, 1 October 2014 (UTC)
* While I don't have the authority to determine the account's authenticity, worth noting is that Craig has only retweeted Homester Runner content three times: once for [[Ron Planet]], once for the Daft Punk mashup, and this. Thus, it would seem odd he'd retweet a small-time fan account. --[[User:Jellote|Jellote]] [[User talk:Jellote|wuz]] [[Special:Contributions/Jellote|here]] 05:05, 2 October 2014 (UTC)
::I don't see anything that would lead me to think the account's an impostor; indeed, it seems to have hallmarks of authenticity, as others have already pointed out. So if no one has any evidence to counter this, I suggest we include it on our wiki. {{User:Heimstern Läufer/sig}} 08:18, 2 October 2014 (UTC)
:::I'm not entirely sure what the proper formatting for an entry about Twitter page would be, so someone else should do it.{{User:Bassbone/sig}} 16:44, 2 October 2014 (UTC)
::::I have submitted a [[StrongBadActual|proposed draft]] for the page. If there are any issues, please leave them on its talk page. --[[User:Jellote|Jellote]] [[User talk:Jellote|wuz]] [[Special:Contributions/Jellote|here]] 21:28, 2 October 2014 (UTC)

== Now the site is back... ==

Do you think we should start up the featured content of the featured content of the day/week thing again? [[User:Guybrush20X6|Guybrush20X6]] 19:22, 22 October 2014 (UTC)
:It's currently featuring all the Halloween big toons. I'll keep with the holiday theme until at least the end of the year. Beyond that we'll see. — [[User:It's dot com|It's dot com]] 20:07, 22 October 2014 (UTC)
Unrelated, but what are the chances that the actual site's weekly's start updating again moments after I asked. Freaky. [[User:Guybrush20X6|Guybrush20X6]] 21:38, 22 October 2014 (UTC)
::It's 2015 now, and there are still '''[[HRWiki:Featured_Article_Selection/Drafts|tons of drafts]]''' for future featured articles. (133, to be exact. That's enough for almost 3 years!) So I think it's a good idea to start it again. ''I'' could do it, if you want. --{{User:Gfdgsgxgzgdrc/sig‎}} 03:00, 13 January 2015 (UTC)
:::There may be tons of drafts, but there aren't tons of people to run the project. It's not a good idea to have this kind of project run by just one person. Not to mention the fact that there's no one to actually read the things. My response would be a resounding '''no'''. {{User:DeFender1031/sig}} 08:39, 13 January 2015 (UTC)

== The future of H*R and this wiki's role ==

Seeing as how Homestar Runner is back and is appealing to new sensibilities, what with the new Twitter account and all, I think it is within the scope of the wiki to reflect the changing world. Coverage of real world issues such as Gamergate, which doubtlessly will get an acknowledgement in the near future, should be considered.

The question is, how should this be cataloged? --[[Special:Contributions/94.242.255.236|94.242.255.236]] 15:00, 3 November 2014 (UTC)

As far as I remember Homestar Runner doesn't do modern trends. The brothers Chaps have said Strong Bad won't comment on recent movie releases or events like the Olympics. Any modern thing is usually broad issues like environmentalism and the half hearted attempts thereof in [[Pistols for Pandas]]. The series frequently uses outdated references so it's outdated on it's own terms. I think we should just catalog the Tweets as they happen. [[User:Guybrush20X6|Guybrush20X6]] 16:11, 3 November 2014 (UTC)

: More to the point, Anonny, you seem to be requesting that we make a page on a subject that ''could'' be mentioned within the cartoon. There is no question about this: this is a bad idea, without regard to what the topic is. This Wiki covers one subject: the Homestar Runner cartoon series (and things based on it). That is what the Wiki is for and that is all that the Wiki is for. We cannot and should not make pages for things Homestar Runner ''might'', but so far has not, addressed. We may as well just transform into a Wikipedia clone, since Homestar could literally address ''anything''.
: '''If''' Homestar Runner does mention some modern trend, we will explain what it is in either "Explanations" or "Real-World References" in the page for that toon, and that is it -- but only if, and not until. We will not make a separate page for it unless there are multiple references to it.
: And even then, including a page for a topic that flares tempers on both sides as much as Gamergate is probably a bad idea ''even if'' Homestar Runner makes references to it. --{{User:Jay/sig}} 02:05, 4 November 2014 (UTC)

== Featured Article ==

*[[Rap Song]]
*[[Loading Screens]]

== Replace [[Feedburner]] with [[Youtube]] on front page? ==

The Youtube link has replaced the Feedburner link in the NavBar, so there really isn't any way to access it anymore besides through the direct URL. It wasn't updated for April Fools', Fish Eye Lens, or even the big holiday toon, I Killed Pom Pom. I have the feeling they've abandoned it, though they might come back to it someday. Thoughts? [[User:Catjaz63|Catjaz63]] 03:03, 28 March 2015 (UTC)

== Enable registration on forums ==

There seems to be no register link anywhere on the forums, and navigating to forum.hrwiki.org/ucp.php?mode=register only returns the message a message saying new registration is disabled. I notice that despite this, there's a new poster user posting in the introduction thread. I guess that means there's some non-obvious way to register, but of course without an account I have no way to contact this poster to ask him how.
I'm assuming registration was removed to curb spambots and because there was nothing to discuss, but now that H*R is coming back, it only makes sense to re-enable it. Oh, and unlock the off-topic forum [[User:extremejon|extremejon]] 03:12, 6 April 2015 (UTC)

== Glitched logo ==

When switching to a tab with the HRWiki open, the site's logo randomly changes to an inverted copy of that page's header and the navigation pane. [http://i.imgur.com/LC15Xh5.png Here's an example].<p>
I noticed this problem on April 1st, at which time I assumed it was part of the festivities. I am using Chromium version 43.0.2342.0 and have seen the glitch with all extensions turned off. Beyond what I have already stated, I have not been able to isolate the steps to reproduce this bug. Has anyone else noticed it, or have any theories as to where it might have come from? --[[User:Jellote|Jellote]] [[User talk:Jellote|wuz]] [[Special:Contributions/Jellote|here]] 17:03, 12 April 2015 (UTC)

== Two things ==

1. The featured content is still <s>Christmas</s> Decemberween themed. We should change it. Maybe April Fools-themed content, or Limozeen/Sloshy toons (because of [[Record Store Day]].)

2. I have an idea; since these 3 things aren't on most computer keyboards, what if we create an <nowiki>{{e}}</nowiki> template (for [[Compé|é]]) and a <nowiki>{{divide}}</nowiki> template (for [[Dangeresque 4÷2=6|÷]]) and a<br><nowiki>{{-}}</nowiki> template (for —, but we probably won't need that one, because we have &mdash)

:That would make page sources very messy and awkward looking. {{User:DeFender1031/sig}} 02:55, 24 April 2015 (UTC)
::I think that #1 is a good idea. There could be a lot more "action" in the Wiki's updating. - {{User:Catjaz63/sig}} 02:58, 24 April 2015 (UTC)

:::Regarding #2, that issue could be solved with the [[MediaWiki:Edittools]] page, or with a Gadget or Extension. --[[User:Neumannz|Neumannz]] 14:08, 27 April 2015 (UTC)
::::So when is idea #1 (featured content) going to change? If we keep that there for a month, it would be Decemberween content [[Decemberween in July|in July]]. (How do you change the content anyway? When I look at the page wiki code, it just says <nowiki>__FEATUREDCONTENT__</nowiki> or something.) {{User:Gfdgsgxgzgdrc/sig‎}} 03:47, 3 June 2015 (UTC)
:::::So... when is it going to be updated? IT'S NOT DECEMBERWEEN! {{User:Gfdgsgxgzgdrc/sig‎}} 23:34, 16 June 2015 (UTC)

== Account creation? ==

How exactly is the email process supposed to go? Do you have to make an email with JUST the username in it and send it? Sorry if this question is weird, English is not my first language. [[Special:Contributions/167.58.82.250|167.58.82.250]]
:You just have to email admin@hrwiki.org with your desired username. It will reply with your temporary password, which you can log in with. Then, you can set your password to whatever you desire. - {{User:Catjaz63/sig}} 21:35, 27 April 2015 (UTC)
::To clarify, you use your regular email account. You send an email to the admin with something along the lines of "Dear HrWiki Admin, how do you type with boxing gloves on your parents? Anyway, I'd like a new account to be created for me called superkid55388. Crapfully yours, me." and then they'll see it and create the account "superkid55388" for you. (Obviously, you can write the email using whatever words you want and pick whatever name you want. It doesn't have to be "superkid55388". It probably shouldn't be.) {{User:DeFender1031/sig}} 21:47, 27 April 2015 (UTC)
:::That was fast! Thank you both! [[Special:Contributions/167.58.82.250|167.58.82.250]]
