Ryan North has been writing the webcomic ''{{w|Dinosaur Comics}}'' since 2003. The comic features the same layout (six panels featuring a T-Rex, Utahraptor and Dromiceiomimus on simplistic backgrounds) for nearly every strip, with only the dialogue changing day by day. In a 2006 interview, [[Matt Chapman]] listed the webcomic as a favorite that the brothers read regularly.{{ref|4}}

[[Jibblies 2]], the [[2007]] [[Halloween]] toon, introduced [[Strong Mad]]'s stuffed [[Dinosaurs|dromiceiomimus]] doll [[Poodonkis]]. The plush toy's pose is based on the ''Dinosaur Comics'' character.{{ref|5}} North acknowledged this "sweet cameo" on his site,{{ref|6}} joking that, since he had previously referenced ''[[Homestar Runner (body of work)|Homestar Runner]]'' in ''Dinosaur Comics'',{{ref|7}} "our websites are married now".

North was a guest at [[ROFLCon - 26 Apr 2008|ROFLCon 2008]], as were the Brothers Chaps (both were panelists, though they were not on the same panels). At the convention, an {{w|OLPC XO}} laptop was signed by many figures in attendance including North and the Chaps; this laptop model would go on to inspire [[Homestar Runner]]'s [[Happy 8600]].
