Swear words
Dear A Trendy Tote Bag, research has shown (read about it) that swearing occurs in a different part of the brain from normal speech. So they're not just words. Moreover, as a culture, we have defined several levels of what kind of words are permissible in a given context, ranging from absolutely nothing vulgar on down to stuff that would make a sailor blush. Because this wiki is geared toward documenting a site that itself largely abstains from swearing, we have therefore chosen to do so as well, and thus the word that you (barely) censored would not be appropriate on almost all of the wiki's talk pages. Incidentally, that discussion was over ten months old, so I doubt Gir007 will see your reply. Anyways, talk atcha later. — It's dot com 03:06, 30 December 2006 (UTC)
Ah, my bad... Sorry... I tend to be the impulsive-type who jmps in without reading the manual first. I tend do d okay except when things like this happen. I'll go read the thing, and then that other thing... Incidentally, what's the chance that they'll do some research as to what words get lodged in that part of the brain anyways? It's help clear up the whole crap issue... (And once again my childhood somehow manages to smack me upside the back o' the head). --A Trendy Tote Bag 03:36, 30 December 2006 (UTC)

A Trendy Tote Bag: /* is crap a real swear word? */ I never understood the idea behind swear words... They're WORDS, people. It offends me when people talk about religion, but you don't hear me saying THAT should be ce

"Crapfully yours" a running gag?
Is this a valid running gag? I wrote up a whole article on it (in particular referencing the email where he finally informed viewers that signing emails in that way was not required) and Jay deleted it in the middle of the night, instead of moving it here. This action is contrary to the idea of Wiki. The article is lost forever now, but at least we can decide if the decision was right and whether it should be reposted.
* The STUFF page is for Fun Facts, not deleted articles. Anyway, the "crap" page as it formerly existed was very disorganized and included many non sequiturs. And all those redirects were unnecessary even if we'd kept it. -- 19:07, 3 Jun 2005 (UTC)
** That is a matter of opinion... you haven't given any other Wiki users the chance to see it and decide for themselves. Plus, any issues would probably have been fixed by other users quickly. I think this one deserves a vote, and I'd like to know where to vote on it if not here?
*** Okay, fine. Reinstate Talk:Crap if it suits you. -- 19:21, 3 Jun 2005 (UTC)
*Decline I don't even need to see the article in question to know what a load of crap it is. Its already noted in the 3 Wishes facts that Strong Bad doesn't like the "crap" signitures. A whole article is overkill. Donny vs Universe
*Yes, it's a running gag, but I don't think there needs to be a whole article about it. Maybe just list it in the running gags section or something. --Upset_Your_Balance 14:24, 4 Jun 2005 (UTC)
*It is a running gag and deserves its own page, though i agree the one that Jay deleted was poorly done. If 11.01 deserves its own page, <s>crafully yours</s> crap in all of its forms does as well --Tony Stony 14:51, 4 Jun 2005 (UTC)
New version of "Crap" page
I actually did the work to create a new "Crap" page before noticing that there was already a discussion page on this topic. I made a big effort to ensure that the page is well-organized and useful. Please add to it and further organize the list - in the first draft, I didn't take the time to organize the references chronologically. 23:59, 3 January 2006 (UTC)
::Also, amusingly, there's now a Crapfully Yours Running Gag page. Goes to show how the opinions of a wiki can change over time! :::Actually, see the discussion on Talk:Crapfully Yours - I had suggested combining that page with this one, though It's dot com managed to talk me out of that. Looking at the history of Crap (wow, that sounds like an interesting article!), the original version of this page was sorely lacking in both structure and substance, so I don't feel so much like I was duplicating work. :) Thanks for the feedback! 17:41, 4 January 2006 (UTC)
