[[Strong Bad]]'s emails are the most frequently updated feature of the [[Homestar Runner (flash cartoon)|Homestar Runner website]]. They were originally a small feature introduced in 2001, in which Strong Bad would mock the spelling and grammar of those who wrote to him. Although the animations were initially brief, the responses gradually grew to establish numerous catchphrases and [[Inside Jokes|running gags]], as well as spin-offs like [[Trogdor]], [[20X6]], [[Teen Girl Squad]], and even the main character [[Homsar]]. A typical Strong Bad email will also include numerous Easter eggs and other hidden material.

*Some time during mid-2003, "updated mondays" on the main Strong Bad Email Menu changed to "updated somedays."
*On the Compy 386 menus, Strong Bad types "<tt>dir /p</tt>", a [[Wikipedia:DOS|DOS]] command used to list all the files in a directory, and to pause between each screen's worth of files.
*Email #22, "[[sb_email 22]]" was actually made between emails 40 and 41. It was originally skipped and later made and released under the title 'the lost email' right before Strong Bad replaced his computer with the [[Compy 386]].
*Back in the [[Tandy 400]] era, e-mailing Strong Bad used to result in this automated response:

This disc contains e-mails #101-130, a previously unreleased email ("Family Resemblance"), a puppet stuff feature called "Real-Life Emails", [[Sample of Style Too]], videos for "Grumblecakes" and "It's Like It Was Meant to Be", and karaoke videos for "Because, It's Midnite" and "Rock Opera". The Paper

'''The Paper''' is a piece of printer paper that comes down after each [[Strong Bad Email]]. It reads:<blockquote>
<tt>Click here to e-mail strong bad 
strongbad@homestarrunner.com</tt></blockquote> Originally, it contained just the first line, without an email adress. When The Paper comes down usually signals the end of the email; however, the majority of Easter eggs can be found after The Paper has come down, either by waiting or clicking on words [[Strong Bad]] has typed. Nobody knows where The Paper actually comes from, since Strong Bad does not seem to have a printer above his computer. This seemingly magical The Paper can sometimes be seen manifesting itself out of the clear blue sky. According to the Strong Bad Email [[montage]], it will be replaced by an inkjet printer after email #173. That, of course, remains to be seen.

The onomatopoeia for The Paper's sound effect is "preeeow", mentioned in [[autobiography]], [[haircut]], [[extra plug]], [[part-time job]], and [[garage sale]].

== Abnormal Sayings ==
The paper shows up in a couple other places too, saying different things.

*At the end of [[Superbowl Dealie]], it reads, "Due to the big game, the Strong Bad Email will be late this week."
*At the end of [[Arcade Game]], it reads, "Click here to play the Trogdor arcade game."
*At the end of [[duck pond]], it reads, "Click here to play 'Duck Pond'".
*On the [[The King of Town|King of Town]] main page, click on [[HR:kingmail.html|e-mail]] and wait until it is over. The paper comes down and reads, "Nobody wants to e-mail The King of Town. For real."
*In the [[HR:crazycartoon.html|Toons Menu version]] of [[Crazy Cartoon]], it reads "The End".
*It also displays the menu options on the [[strongbad_email.exe]] DVD, as well as a "bottom-feeding Paper" reading "Make your selection and mash GO, moron!"
*In the email [[animal]], it tells Strong Bad "Enough already, Strong Bad" above the usual email information.

== Other "The Paper" Oddities ==
*The Paper prints upside-down from how a real printer would operate; that is, the ''last'' line prints first toward the free edge of the page.
*At the end of [[the bird]] it comes down from the sky. Pom Pom lifts the corner and peeks under.
*In [[superhero name]], a comic book with an "email Strong Bad" link appeared in lieu of The Paper.
*At the end of [[guitar]] Strong Bad uses the [[BMW Lighter]] and unintentionally scorches the paper. Also, at the end of the DVD version of [[caffeine]], the paper gets scorched again, this time by Strong Bad's science project; "The Effects Of Gasoline On Fire".
*There is a printer, and apparently it's female. This may be a reference to computer parts, where the ends are called male or female. Most printers, however, are male. Keep clicking the knobs of the [[Tandy 400]] at the end of [[invisibility]], and eventually the screen says, "tell the printer i'll miss her."
*At the end of [[50 emails]] it comes down prematurely, ending an e-mail which in Strong Bad's opinion was not quite over. Indeed, The Paper seems to have a mind of its own!
*In the email [[couch patch]] hovering your cursor right above the normal back button at the bottom of the screen and clicking the resulting link makes the paper print out an ASCII million dollar bill.
*In [[japanese cartoon]] The Paper is replaced with an anime credits list.
*Strong Bad also uses The Paper in the [[autobiography]] email. This time he prints the email out from his computer, like you would with a normal printer. The actual location of the printer is probably forever a mystery, much like Strong Bad's ability to type with boxing gloves for hands.
**Later in this e-mail, The Paper takes a while to signal the end of the e-mail due to a (supposed, according to Strong Bad himself) paper jam.
*In [[big white face]], it again comes down from the sky, and [[The Poopsmith]] pokes at it with [[The Poopsmith's Shovel|his shovel]].
*Apparently The Paper can follow orders, though. See [[date]] and [[for kids]], where Strong Bad instructs The Paper when to come down to bring the e-mail to a close.
*In [[extra plug]], even when the power is out, The Paper still comes down, thanks to Strong Mad and The Cheat.
*In [[animal]] The Paper's gender is set as male, with Strong Bad asking 'him' to come down and meet the new computer, [[Lappy 486]]. This is also the first time The Paper has moved in smaller increments and even moved partially back to the top of the screen before coming down all the way.
*In [[part-time job]], the paper, for the first time ever, doesn't come down on its own! Instead, you must click "ps: preeeow" to make it come down!
*In [[dreamail]], the paper takes the form of the United States Constitution, upside down, with the Strong Bad e-mail link scribbed at the top of the Constitution. This is the first time since [[japanese cartoon]] that the paper hasn't been in its normal computer-printout format, and is the third time in four e-mails (see above) that the paper has had at least one unusual twist.

:(1) Being rude and angry isn't going to help you. (2) 3 minutes is hardly long enough to wait before demanding a response. Think more along the line of days, possibly longer since it is an anonymous user and thus less likely to return often. (3) If by "da fun fact of mine" you mean "This is the first time we see [[Tompkins]] as a teenager.", I'm guessing it was because it is not particularly interesting. I know I'd vote against it if it went to STUFF. I'm not even going to try and STUFF this, because it's complete speculation and could easily be a coincidence, but I still think it's cool: On the Best Friends Squad intro, it looks like Cheerleader has been replaced by a unicorn, much like the group The Byrds were [http://www.snopes.com/music/hidden/horse.asp rumored] to have intentionally replaced the recently-fired David Crosby with a horse on the cover of their 1968 album ''The Notorious Byrd Brothers''. If she had just said "my gallies" a second time, ''that'' wouldn't be a reference. It's like saying that Homestar calling The Cheat "yellow man" in one toon is a reference to the time he called him a "yellow dog" in an earlier toon. What state gives learner's permits to 14-year-olds? And lets them drive without supervision? I'm thinking, here in Ohio, you can get a learer's permit at age 15 and 6 months, and you have to be acompanied in the passenger seat by a parent or guardian, or, if you're 16 or over, a licensed driver age 21 or older. That always seemed reasonable to me - but on second thought, some states have dumb vehicle laws, like how in Texas it's legal to drive with an open container... Did anyone else think that the theatrical play put on by one of the girls and the Port-o-Pottie looked eerily similar to the play that Cloud and Aeris participate in during their date scene in the Golden Saucer? I couldn't find a picture of the FF7 scene to confirm this, but the backgrounds and costumes look very familiar... Anyone???

[[Strong Bad]]'s emails are the most frequently updated feature of the [[Homestar Runner (flash cartoon)|Homestar Runner website]]. They were originally a small feature introduced in 2001, in which Strong Bad would mock the spelling and grammar of those who wrote to him. Although the animations were initially brief, the responses gradually grew to establish numerous catchphrases and [[Inside Jokes|running gags]], as well as spin-offs like [[Trogdor]], [[20X6]], [[Teen Girl Squad]], and even the main character [[Homsar]]. A typical Strong Bad email will also include numerous Easter eggs and other hidden material.

A mysterious figure seen in [[Stinkoman 20X6]]'s Level 5, 6, and 7 cutscenes bears a strong resemblance to 20X6 Coach Z.

== Why Was It Taken Off? ==
The removal of this toon has been the subject of much debate among fans. Some believe it has to do with the references to urination, but given that [[2 years]], [[virus]], and [[The Luau]] make similar references, this explanation is unlikely. Another theory is that it, along with [[Marshmallow's Last Stand (toon)|Marshmallow's Last Stand]], was taken down to get a Special Edition treatment, akin to [[The King Of Town DVD]] (this is made more plausible by the fact that the editing and comedic timing of this toon is not nearly as proficient as in later toons) and the [[In Search of the Yello Dello|Yello Dello DVD]]. Perhaps "[[Craig Zobel|R. Craig Zobel]]", who is listed in the credits under 'created by', has something to do with the toon's removal.

Like the Tandy 400, this was an almost-reference to a real computer. There was a 386 processor, which was very popular in its day, but there was no company called "Compy" that made a 386 version of their computer. The "386" logo in "[[invisibility]]" is most likely a reference to the real-life logo of IBM, though the Compy 386 is running DOS (programs are .exe), the blue startup screen is a reference to the Commodore 64, or C64, which was Commodore's predecessor to the Amiga.

The design of the computer itself seems to be a take on the old Compaq Deskpro 386, which has a similar monitor and keyboard. However, The monitor in the [[Puppet Time]] movie is an old Apple II monitor. The keyboard is a recent model of the Dell QuietKey keyboard that came with earlier Dell computers.

Interestingly, if you look at both the exploded Compy 386 and [[Tandy 400]], you will notice they both contain identical gears and fans, despite being a different manufacturer and generation of computer.

In archived (deleted) pages it appears once as "Jeweettoch" in some spam comment. One email address of a user contains a variant of the word "jewel." Nothing else.

The user first called Joey a big racist jerk without explanation and then claimed that Joey had blocked him and used a racial slur in the process. At first the user was unclear as to the content of the block message, but then claimed it was "no more message for you, you freakin jew". The user then told Joey that he hated him and that Joey shouldn't deny saying it. Joey was eventually able to have the user visit http://ipchicken.com to determine his current IP address. This IP address turned out to be one for an AOL proxy. Joey attempted to explain that the user was likely just blocked from editing because of another AOL user who had been blocked, but before he could finish, the user was able to edit again. The user proved this to Joey by editing an article. Joey was then able to convince the user that he needed to go to bed and signed off.

:It's a little of column A and a little of column B, but as long as this wiki has people voting on whether fun facts are good (and, oh, they're going to find a way to vote), then it doesn't so much matter the ''location'' of their votes (on a centralized STUFF page or on talk pages or wherever), we are just going to have lots of edits toward that end. I think the best thing to do is what we're doing now—keeping the voting as structured as simplicity will allow.<div style="text-indent:2em">Theoretically, the number of edits will decrease now that people can make their votes and move on, instead of discussing each little thing back and forth for ten hours. Each admin and regular user alike should take strides to ensure that the new format doesn't regress into a forum. '''Strong Bad''' is one of the most well-known characters on [[Homestar Runner (flash cartoon)|HomestarRunner.com]]. He answers [[Strong Bad Email |e-mails]] with a passion, usually every Monday or Tuesday. He will [[Spelling|make fun]] of your grammar, punctuation, and spelling, but doesn't seem to be worried about his own. He's [[Strong Sad]]'s big brother and [[Strong Mad]]'s little brother. His name was probably taken from a Nintendo wrestling game "Tag Team Pro Wrestling" where the team of bad wrestlers whom he resembles is called the "Strong Bads." His is the dominant personality and he loves to push everyone around: he's often ridiculing Strong Sad, abusing [[Homestar Runner|Homestar]], kicking [[The Cheat]], or prank-calling [[Marzipan]]. He has boxing gloves for hands (that always have square window reflections on them, no matter where he is), a Mexican wrestling mask for a head, and it is confirmed that the mask IS actually his head in [http://members.shaw.ca/kevinscott/Homestar/page5.html this interview]. His favorite saying is (or was for a time) "holy crap." He hates to be asked "[[How Do You Type With Boxing Gloves On?|Hey, Strong Bad, how do you type with boxing gloves on?]]". Strong Bad has sung many hit singles, his most popular being "[[Everybody to the Limit]]". He also stars as the protagonist in the blockbuster action series "[[Dangeresque]]". He works with Homestar at an unnamed tech company, though despite this fixed income, he seems to have financial troubles as he often attempts money making solutions of questionable legitimacy and burns his bills with his BMW lighter. Strong Bad is somewhat prejudiced; he has been banned from the UK, and often ridicules Eastern Europeans on their e-mails. He also hates children and old people.
