With such an expansive bank of cartoons that rely so heavily on whimsical humor, it would be near impossible for the Brothers Chaps to keep the Homestar Runner universe completely consistent and have total continuity between cartoons. Because of this large size and humorous nature, various inconsistencies occur throughout the body of work. These are usually very minor. According to the site's FAQ, people often ask the Brothers Chaps about inconsistencies; to these questions they answer that "It was either done on purpose or it's just a cartoon and you probably shouldn't worry about it."

Appearances of Inconsistencies
General
*Strong Mad His height and weight are under constant scrutiny.
*Strong Bad's computers Their capabilities tend to vary. Matt Chapman even points this out in the DVD commentary for homestar hair.
*The race track In autobiography, lane five is the shortest lane, and seven the longest, while in disconnected, the roles are reversed.
*The computer room In most cartoons, the door of the computer room is on the right side of the room, but in techno, interview, monument, and all episodes of Strong Bad's Cool Game for Attractive People, it is on the left side.
*House of the Brothers Strong Strong Bad claims to have found an old-timey video in the attic in a @StrongBadActual . In imaginary, Strong Sad states that they don't have an attic.
*Basement of the Brothers Strong Strong Mad's Character Video, HomestarRunner.com: PAY PLUS!, and The Li'l Brudder Show all show different ceiling heights.
*Bubs' Concession Stand
**Bubs emerges from its basement by walking up a set of stairs in Broken Compy Menu. However, he is seen entering it via an elevator in geddup noise and winter pool.
**It does not appear to have any basement in Fall Float Parade, as Homestar Runner is seen standing in a cardboard box on solid ground, where the concession stand stood before Strong Mad carried it away. Matt Chapman suggested the cardboard box was covering the elevator shaft.

Specific
*Email 50 emails Homestar Runner is unable to recognize that the Compy 386 is a computer, though he presumably used a computer to respond to an email forwarded by Strong Bad in credit card.
*Email flashback
**In the Yearbook Character Page, it says that the King of Town's reign as king dates back to "before any of you were born", but in this email, he is the Prince of Town and the other characters are, obviously, already born.
**To celebrate the 100th Strong Bad Email, the screen of the Compy 386 displays "Congratulations! You have answered 100 emails!", even though there were some episodes, such as 2 emails, where he answered more than one. He also checked 40 of these emails on the Tandy 400 and other computers.
**Strong Bad claims he lost count around email 51, but he began caffeine (the 91st Strong Bad Email) with "Coming in at number 91, it's, E-Maaaaaaaaaaail!"
*Strong Bad is in Jail Cartoon The scene behind the fence is missing the Bear Holding a Shark that scared The Cheat in date.
*New Boots Strong Bad claims that he doesn't wear underwear, but he is seen wearing underwear in stand-up, senior prom, Main Page 24 and nightlife.
*Email pom pom Strong Bad cannot type legibly when he is blindfolded, but in impression he could type properly even while wearing a paper plate mask. In morning routine, he is also able to type with an empty potato chip bag on one hand.
*Strong Sad's Lament Strong Sad writes that he can't jump, yet he manages to jump in Experimental Film, as well as in boring (really).
*Email dreamail Strong Bad imagines the Lappy 486 as female, but in animal he claimed it was the Paper's "new brother".
*Email bottom 10 Strong Bad's list includes "Songs that try to pass off la la's, na na's, and doot do's as legit lyrics", but Strong Bad sang "Na na na" in the intro to secret recipes, does it again in Trogday 08, and sings "da doot doot" in portrait.
*Email geddup noise Strong Bad corrects an email that refers to the Geddup Noise as "the get up noise", as if he is unfamiliar with that name, but he had called Chairscoot by that name in the bet.
*Email bedtime story The Cheat is slightly smaller compared to the grill than he is in Where's The Cheat? and pizza joint.
**This was most likely deliberate both so that The Cheat could hold onto his glass of Suudsu and so Strong Bad could fit three roach foggers into the grill.
*Trogdor Con '97 The Cheat presumably reminds Strong Bad that he doesn't pay him, but in lackey, Strong Bad pays The Cheat with pencil shavings. Similarly, in rough copy, he pays The Cheat in soft tacos.
*Email alternate universe Old-Timey Strong Bad calls the modern Strong Bad a "brightly-colored baboon", implying there is no color in the Old-Timey universe. However, the lyrics to the Ballad of The Sneak claimed The Sneak was yellow.
*Summer Short Shorts The fence is seen to be between the woods and Bubs' Concession Stand, but was not at that location in Strong Bad is in Jail Cartoon.
*Email cliffhangers Coach Z tries to reveal the Thnikkaman's identity by removing his sunglasses, even though Bubs himself does this in monument.
*Email retirement
**Strong Bad states that the Lappy has a "5-meg hard drive", although in animal it claimed to have only a 2-meg hard drive.
**The hole in the screen of the Compy 386 is smaller than it was when Bubs shotgunned it in the end of virus.
**The Tandy's ghost appeared to be broken in the email ghosts; however, in this email, it appears unbroken.
*Email coloring Marzipan has written on her blackboard that "soy is also murder", yet in The Luau, she has a tofu party, and in do over, she asked "Homestar" for the soy crisps.
*Happy Hallow-Day This toon indicates that the Spooky Woods are only spooky during Halloween night, or at least at night. However, in Where's The Cheat?, the woods appear as they do during the other Halloween toons, despite the fact it is neither Halloween nor night.
*Email rough copy Strong Sad writes a note to himself to get a bigger notebook, and couldn't manage to write the word "notebook" on one page. However, in record book, he transcribed Paradise Lost onto a single grain of basmati rice, in four languages. This is further contradicted in DNA Evidence, in which he writes down notes from various character confessions.
*Email concert Strong Sad tells Strong Bad he has never heard of Limozeen, but they watched Limozeen: "but they're in space!" together in best thing.
*Email hygiene Coach Z has to ask Strong Bad where he can get hygiene, but in senior prom he assures Strong Sad he is spiking the punch with Listerine only because he is "looking out for all yer hygienes".
*Email pizza joint Strong Bad is shocked to learn that there was "competition" between his pizza joint The Pizz and The Cheat's "Cheatsa Pizza", neglecting the existence of a third pizza brand, Bubs' Old Pizza.
*Email nightlife Bubs' Concession Stand is shown to be to the left of Strong Badia, while in Summer Short Shorts and Strong Bad is in Jail Cartoon, Bubs' Concession Stand was on Strong Badia's right.
*Sickly Sam's Big Outing Various details suggest that it was filmed in live-action, although previous Old-Timey toons such as Kick the Can, Parsnips A-Plenty, and That a Ghost are explicitly referred to as "cartoons."
*Marzipan's Answering Machine Version 15.2 Strong Bad translates The Cheat's prank call for Marzipan, although Marzipan has been shown as being able to understand The Cheat's language, most notably in Date Nite and Halloween Potion-ma-jig.
*Blubb-O's Commercial Bubs manages to open the window of the Gremlin, but in road trip, Strong Bad said the windows could not open from the inside.
*Somber Vacation Strong Sad's vacation slideshow shows him having ordered a cup of black coffee, and seemingly drank it with no ill effects. However, in caffeine, he becomes hyperactive after drinking orange juice laced with Sanka coffee powder.
*Email your edge The Basement of the Brothers Strong is located underneath the living room of the Brothers Strong, but in HomestarRunner.com: PAY PLUS!, it was located underneath the computer room.
*Strong Bad's Cool Game for Attractive People
**Strong Bad's room is located on the first floor of the House of the Brothers Strong, but in Nighttime Driving Type Game and nightlife, it was in the basement.
**The computer room is missing the window that it has been shown to have in cheat talk and environment.
**Strong Bad "refuses to throw away cereal boxes until he solves the mazes on the back" when he had previously beat up Homestar for wearing the mask and doing the maze on the back of boxes of Cheat Commandos... Os in specially marked.
*Strong Badia the Free
** When trying to recruit The Cheat to assist him in overthrowing the King of Town, Strong Bad can ask The Cheat to remember the good times they've had, such as stapling a grilled cheese sandwich to Homestar's face earlier that day. Shortly after, Homestar can be seen in the background with the sandwich in question stuck to his face. However, Homestar had been clearly featured in the episode prior to that moment, with no sandwich on his face. The only possible time when this action could have taken place was between Strong Bad's rally, the last time Homestar had been featured on screen, and Strong Bad's conversation with The Cheat, during which neither would have had the opportunity to pull off this prank.
**Tony Stony is depicted as much smaller in comparison to Strong Mad than in his first appearance in Homestar Presents: Presents. Presumably, this was done to make it more realistic that Strong Bad could carry Tony Stony in his pants (inventory). Paradoxically, however, Strong Bad remarks that Tony Stony has "put on a few pounds" since his last appearance.
*Email email thunder Strong Bad has to ask if Homestar has an email address, but he has previously forwarded an email to Homestar in credit card, and had a Homestar junkmail filter, as seen in candy product.
*Dangeresque 3: The Criminal Projective In a Tweet, Strong Bad claims that "SBCG4AP doesn't count" as a release of Dangeresque 3, and that the film remains unreleased. However, sbemail 206 acts as if the movie was released with a fake trailer for "Dangeresque 4 ÷ 2 = 6".
*8-Bit is Enough
**The events of the game occur shortly after the gang all watches Dangeresque 3: The Criminal Projective. Even though the computer room had no calendar when Strong Bad brought the tape downstairs, there is one in 8-Bit is Enough.
**When Strong Bad jumps in Dangeresque 3: The Criminal Projective, he jumps straight at Marzipan. In 8-Bit is Enough, he jumps towards the same place, but Marzipan isn't there anymore.
**Strong Bad is surprised to learn that Charlemagne is a male, but had previously addressed the plant as a male in Strong Badia the Free.
*Hremail 7
**This old-fashioned toon suggests Strong Bad knew about Hremails since 2001, yet in email thunder, Strong Bad seems surprised that Homestar also has an email show.
**Strong Bad is shown to have first gotten the Tandy 400 in 2001, but no loafing showed that he had it in 1987 as well.
**Strong Bad is shown to be unaware of emails in 2001. However, flashbacks seen in personal favorites and lady...ing showed Strong Bad checking emails in a design from early 2000 (the latter flashback is given an approximate date of 1999-2000).
**Strong Bad had trouble saying the word "email" and seemed ignorant of the Internet. But in looking old, Strong Bad talked about "eStrong Vague Online Investments" that was sold in the late 1990s.
*4 Gregs Cheerleader says she is more of a cheerleader in the way she dresses and treats other girls, but she was seen cheering in Homestar Ruiner.
**She also claimed to be "off duty" in Teen Girl Squad Issue 15.
*Email hremail 3184 Strong Bad is shown to have an email from Homestar, but in candy product, he mentions that the Lappy has a Homestar junkmail filter.
*On Break
** Strong Bad denies being a smoker despite the fact that he's been seen smoking a cigar in a Store Thank You Message.
** Strong Bad works for Bubs as the Tragic Clown Dog despite quitting in part-time job.
*Which Ween Costumes? The King of Town suggests in his Easter egg that he is around 303 years old. However, in space program, released five years earlier, he claimed to be in his sixties.
*April Fool 2014 Strong Bad uses the non-broken Compy 386 despite it being shotgunned by Bubs in virus and eaten by Strong Mad in retirement.
*Dad's Garage & Friends - 13 Jun 2015
**Strong Bad uses the Lappy 486 despite him blowing it up in hremail 3184.
**The Paper appears despite being burnt in the paper and email thunder.
*Marzipan's Answering Machine Version 17.2
**Despite having been replaced in version 16.2 by the XL800, the XL8 returns in this toon. Unlike before, it now has the record button that was seen on the XL800.
**In Senor Mortgage, the Visor Robot speaks with a Microsoft Sam-esque voice. However, in this toon, it speaks with the voice that its Powered by The Cheat self has in Everybody to the Limit, which is provided by Macintosh's PlainTalk
*Halloween Hijinks The King of Town criticizes Ding Dongs, saying that he would never dress up as their mascot, King Ding Dong, but he had previously expressed interest in eating the snack cakes (using their Canadian name, King Dons) in Jibblies 2.
incomplete list
__FORCETOC__
Transcript
{A title screen reading simply "Sample of Style" appears. Cut to Mike standing in a doorway}

MIKE: Hi. {catches a football tossed at him} I'm Mike Chapman from homestarrunner.com. People are all the time asking me "Mike, how do you do those stupid voices for your dumb animal characters?" and I say "I'm Mike! Matt does the voices!" Let's go!

{cut to outside a closed wooden door. Mike looks at the camera and nods knowingly, then knocks on the door}

MIKE: Hey Matt! It's Mike!

{Some noise from inside can be heard. Mike opens the door and Matt makes some weird sound effects into a microphone. Nearby are some keyboards and computer equipment.}

MIKE: Cut!

{Matt now notices Mike, and stands up.}

MATT: Hey!

MIKE: Hey, I was just telling the guys how you do the voices for homestarrunner.com.

MATT: Oh yeah! The website!

MIKE: Yeah!

{Mike tosses the football to Matt, who catches it. The camera starts to follow Matt as he walks to the right}

MATT: Yeah! Uh, well, you know, it's kind of an industry secret, so we keep them here under lock and key. Uh, let me just—do you have the key, Mike?

MIKE: Yeah.

{Mike gives Matt a key, and Matt "unlocks" a cabinet door (or rather, makes a sound effect implying it's been unlocked). The camera angle shifts so that it's behind Mike and Matt, showing wire boxes full of material, an old Compy 386-style computer on top of the cabinet, and a huge cork board with hair metal band photos on it. Matt produces a briefcase from inside the cabinet and sets it on top}

MATT: So here it is.

{The camera cuts closer to the briefcase. Matt opens it to reveal cardboard tubes with the names of the characters written on them. Matt takes one out labeled "Homestar Runner"}

MATT: Hey, Mike. {starts talking into it, the Homestar voice comes out} Oh hello, Mike! Check me out!

MIKE: Easy there, Homestar!

MATT: Hahaha, {suddenly shifts tone to dead seriousness} stop the camera.

{The camera cuts now to Mike, then pans back to Matt}

MIKE: So if that's how you do Homestar Runner, how about the King of Town?

MATT: Good question, Mike. {takes out the cardboard tube labeled The King of Town} The King of Town is a little more difficult. I have to employ a little of this strategy... {Matt puts the tube up to his mouth and one hand on the other end of the tube to act as a mute. The King of Town voice comes out} Dooooo hoo hoooo! I'm so hungry! I want a lot of food items!

MIKE: {just off-camera} Wow, that's impressive. {camera puts him back in frame} The King likes food, doesn't he?

{Matt laughs a little. Cut to Matt sitting at his computer workstation. Coach Z and Strong Mad are on the screen. Matt hits a button the keyboard, puts a Coach Z cardboard tube up to his mouth, and turns to the microphone}

MATT: {Coach Z voice} Hey Strong Mad, you're doin' a great joraerb there! {quickly switches the tube out for a Strong Mad tube, producing the Strong Mad voice} I DON'T HAVE A JOB! {switch} I say ya done a groot joob! {switch} YOU'RE A GROOT JOOB! {switch} Björn Borg! {switch} RAAAAH! {switch} Where's th—{switch} RAAAH! {switch} fjords? {switch} RAAAAHHH!

{Cut to Mike, who is standing by the briefcase}

MIKE: That's great for you, Matt, {takes a cardboard tube labeled "Strong Bad"} but what happens if I use one of these things? {puts the tube up to his mouth, and the Powered By The Cheat version of Strong Bad comes out} I think this is sounding pretty good.

{Mike puts the tube down, and grabs the King of Town cardboard tube to put up to his mouth}

MIKE: {Powered by the Cheat KoT} I'm the King of Town!

{Mike grabs the Strong Mad and Homsar tubes, puts them end to end, and produces an awful racket before pulling them away from his lips}

MIKE: What happened?

{Cut to Mike leaning on a stacked-up amp}

MATT: {offscreen} I was really, really unhappy with what you did. I—I thought it was terrible.

MIKE: I didn't do it.

{Cut to Mike sitting on the cabinet}

MIKE: Now this one REALLY creeps me out!

{Pan to Matt at the computer workstation, wearing Missy's glasses and headphones resembling a hairband, and speaking into a Marzipan tube}

MATT: {Marzipan voice} And then I went to the store, and then I punched somebody in the face, and then I picked a flower, and then... I did something else and then I blew my nose.

{Cut back to Mike leaning on the amps. He now has a white phone in his shirt's breast pocket. Mike makes a fake ringing noise, and "answers" the phone}

MIKE: Hello?

{The phone really starts ringing. Matt and Mike start laughing. The frame "jumps"}

MIKE: Hey Matt, some trucker wants to know how you do the voices for those terrible old-timey cartoons you're always making.

{The camera pans to Matt}

MATT: Ohhh, that's a great question, Mike. What we had to do with THAT was jury-rig a little sample of style. {grabs a styrofoam cup with "Old Timey Filter" written on it.} Take a simple voice like, say, Strong Bad {takes the Strong Bad tube from the briefcase} and add the Old Timey Filter onto it. {Matt holds the cup to the end of the tube} Let's see what we get. {Matt starts speaking into the tube, producing Old-Timey Strong Bad} I'll give you old-timey, you mountebank!

MIKE: Excuse me?

{Matt starts laughing evilly}

MIKE: Fresh!

{Matt keeps laughing, until finally Mike tackles him}

MATT: Oh I'm sorry Mike!

{Cut to Mike looking around confusedly. The Cheat noises are heard being made}

MIKE: Where is that coming from?

{More The Cheat noises. Mike looks over to the side, and the camera focuses on what he looked at; a Kick the Cheat doll.}

MIKE: What?

{The Cheat noises}

MIKE: {poking the doll} Are you talking, little guy?

{More The Cheat noises. Mike looks behind him}

MIKE: Oh, Matt!

{Camera pans to Matt, holding up a short cardboard tube with The Cheat written on it, and making more The Cheat noises. Cut to Matt holding up what appears to be two cardboard tubes end to end.}

MATT: OK, ready!

{The camera zooms out, showing that Mike is helping hold up more, so it looks like all of the tubes have been combined into one big mega tube. Matt speaks into the tube}

MATT: {Stinkoman voice} DOUBLE DEEEEEUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU- {runs out of breath} gah!

MIKE: I want to do another one, Matt!

MATT: Nah, that's all the time we've got for today, Mike.

MIKE: No, seriously!

{Matt and Mike start scuffling over one of the tubes, resulting in the tube becoming mangled. It's then shown that it was labeled "Bubs". Matt gasps, then turns to Mike, angered.}

MATT: Great. Now we have to kill off Bubs. Just like Homeschool Winner.

{Matt throws the mangled tube at Mike angrily, hitting him}

MATT: I'm outta here.

{Matt walks off in a huff. Mike picks up the mangled tube and talks into it}

MIKE: {Powered by The Cheat Bubs} My name's Bubs! This is my regulah voice! {stops talking into it and shrugs} Sounds good to me.

{The screen fades to a cartoon tombstone, reading as follows:}
Fun Facts
Explanations
*The character voices were accomplished by overdubbing the character dialogue later.

Trivia
*The Brothers Chaps have a mousepad from They Might Be Giants' online store, specifically the one with the log design.
*This is the only time the Powered by The Cheat version of The King of Town has been heard.
*"Mountebank" is a synonym for Charlatan.
*Tubes for all twelve main characters are seen, including characters like Pom Pom and The Poopsmith, who don't normally speak.
*The YouTube description for this video is "Mike and Matt Chapman give a behind the scenes look at how Matt does the character voices."

Remarks
*This is a live action video.
*When seen in the suitcase, there are no tubes for Marzipan or The Cheat, although both tubes are seen later on.

Inside References
*The line "That'll be five dollars" was used in pom pom.
*The tombstone at the end is a reference to the end of replacement.
*The sound Matt is making as Mike comes in sounds like the sound Homestar makes when putting the toothpicks and olives in the Homestar Jr. sandwich, in the toon Where's The Cheat?.
*This video has examples of poor acting.
*Mike uses the phrase "all the time".

Real-World References
*Björn Borg is a famous Swedish tennis player, most well known for defeating John McEnroe to win the 1980 Wimbledon Cup.
*People catching footballs after a greeting is a common theme with football players in TV commercials.

Fast Forward
*It turns out, in virus (which was Bubs's first appearance on homestarrunner.com after the DVD was released), that Bubs hasn't been killed off after all.
** Homeschool Winner, also mentioned to be killed off, appeared alive and well in A Decemberween Mackerel.
ARTIFACT: "The Story Of Peasant Handsomeface And Trogdor"

DESCRIPTION: Several pages of crudely home-made paper, constructed mostly out of rags and lint.

ORIGIN: Recovered from the remains of a burninated thatch-roofed cottage. Papers seemed to
have escaped complete combustion due to being so moist.
THE STORY OF PEASANT HANDSOMEFACE AND TROGDOR
BY ME, PEASANT HANDSOMEFACE

My story begins with my parents, Mr. and Mrs. Handsomeface, who produced me, Dave. I soon went
exclusively by my last name because it was so much better, and which certainly worked as good P.R.
for my, if we're being completely honest, extremely handsome face. Life was good until TROGD[TEXT
this document in my beautiful, beautiful tears and stuffed into my roof, I'm certain that my story
will FINALLY be told. If you are reading this, please, heed my words! TROGDOR may sound like fun
and games, but we handsome peasants have families! Handsome families! Why are WE to have our
Explanations
*This page was by the @StrongBadActual Twitter account on Trogday 2023, referred to as a lost piece of "Gopher-query Fiction" by Ryan North, originally written for the Trogdor!! The Board Game Kickstarter campaign.
*Gopher (protocol) is an alternative Internet protocol that fell out of use by the end of the 1990s.

Trivia
*Despite the document being composed entirely out of plaintext, the page itself displays the document as an image, with no actual webpage text to be found.

Remarks
*Many of the periods are followed with two spaces. Although this was common practice when typing on a typewriter and persisted through early computer use, such extra spacing is no longer recommended on modern word processors.
*The type is set in Droid (typeface).

Goofs
*"Having" is unnecessarily repeated in the line "having having soaked this document".
Inside References
*"The Museum of Trogdor" title is rendered in ASCII art.
*The pages of the story are said to have survived due to their moistness.
*Peasant Handsomeface describes Trogdor as having consummate V's.
*The surname "Handsomeface" previously appeared in Teen Girl Squad Issue 10 with Strong Bad's self-insert character, Sir Hotbod Handsomeface.
:I think that's a test DLC track actually stored on the disc, which was not enabled in the actual retail copy of the game. I just extracted an Xbox 360 GH2 ISO, and there's an "xboxlive" folder with one song, called "rodgort". There's nothing special about it, haven't looked at the note chart but the audio is just standard Trogdor, probably the files are direct copies of the "trogdor" song folder. Just by looking at the file sizes, the only difference is in the .voc file for the song, which is about 10KB larger in the "rodgort" version (and is in fact the exact same file as trogdor.voc from the PS2 version, no idea why they changed it). I think that has to do with the singer's vocal animations, but I'm not entirely sure as I mostly work with the PS2 version and don't really care about the .voc when making customs. Either "rodgort" is visible on test 360 kits when using the retail game, or they didn't quite have the retail disc but a slightly earlier version of it. :: "They don't release a game the moment it's done though." I'm sorry, I don't understand that sentence. There is also no edvidence that the developers at Rare didn't know about HR. Just because Rare is based in the UK and HR in Georgia does not mean that "word of mouth" couldn't be in the United Kingdom. As far as I know, the internet works based on being able to send and recieve signals from cables and satelites, not from being close to where is something is happening. For example, I knew about an Austrailian videogame review show, that grew from word of mouth, from the very begining, and I live 12,000km away from Australia! Therefore, you nor anyone else has conclusive evidence that Homestar's presence was not in the United Kingdom by 2000.
::: It certainly wasn't popular in 2000. Anyway, the reference was concerning the word "Marzipan". Follow that link if you want to see why it probably wasn't a reference. -- 00:44, 9 October 2008 (UTC)
::: PS. What Bluebry meant is that games do not just appear out of the aether. They take time to develop. -- again.
:::: Certainly games take time, but look at the way games are developed. The functions such as walking, jumping, running, attacking, ect. are programed first. The Levels second. Story last. Because the quiz where the refrence is made is based on all the story so far, it is likely that it was one of the last things added, early to mid 2000. Most likely a Rare employ just said, "Oh bugger, I've got a deadline so I'll just add this question and make one of the answers a refrence to some website some Yankes showed to me." While an arguement that the Marzipan refrenced is indeed the culanary item, that dosen't follow Banjo-Tooie's humor. Most of Banjo-Tooie's humor was referential. For examble there is a Donkey Kong doll, a Wikipedia:Donkey Kong 64 logo, Wikipedia:Ash Ketchum's hat, the internet, among others. Most of these are from the late 90s or early 2000s. Given that a large amout of humour was based off this time period, and that many people worked on this game, and that HR was spread by word of mouth, leads us to conclude that there is a plausible chance of the refrence being from the character
::::: But even if I accept that it is plausible (which I still don't, for the record), you still have not managed to show that it is likely to be a reference. There's no connection besides the usage of the word "marzipan", which is a real word. That's not enough. If there was a character who said something like "By Marzipan's blonde ponytail!", or Kazooie made a remark like "Gosh, you're a dirtier hippie than Marzipan!", then that would clearly be a reference. == Breath of Fire 2 retranslation. ==

Not sure if fan (re)translations count, but Breath of Fire 2 for SNES was recently... well, fan re-translated. And I've already counted no fewer than three possible H*R references...

1) When you're taking Bosch (Bow in the original) in the trashcan to Township, after popping out, he comments that he was "upgraded to 'stank'".

2) A sign outside Wyndia beckons travellers to "come the heck down" to Whale Cape. Sounds innocent enough, but given it's related, in-game, to a *whale*... ehem... Well...

3) In the Wise Tree's mind, an old man who tries to teleport you out and makes a mistake... after talking to him again, though, he says he'll teleport you out again... "for reals this time". That one's a bit dubious, but given the other two... it's probably intentional.

And... there're probably more. I'm not actually that far. The latter of them came from a friend of mine, who just flies through games. So... yeah. I can provide screenshots if anyone wants proof. Again, dunno if this counts, but eh, figured I'd mention it anyhow. (Also, forgive me if anyone brought this up already. I didn't do a thorough search or anything.) - 18:57, 3 May 2009 (UTC)

You forgot where Bosch says "When have I ever backed down from a bad idea?" after he agrees to sneak into Trout's house a second time. Also, hi there.

I only wish I could've included more references to the Drive-Thru Whale in relation to Whale Cape...there's a line in the script where someone asks you to buy a Bunwhale, saying "It's not like I'm asking you to sever your leg!"...but strangely enough, I couldn't find it in my alpha playthrough. Ah, well.--Ryusui 08:53, 30 May 2009 (UTC)
: I was just playing this, and there's a scene where the party members have trouble swimming. If Sten is in your party, he says "I can't feel my parts." This is an interesting case - this isn't the official translation, but it definitely has Homestar Runner references in it. No one added it in the four-plus years since it came out, but it could fit. Maybe. -- 07:04, 15 December 2013 (UTC)
Trogdor the P0wninator
<span style="float: right">http://www.tip.it/runescape/mon2/Yt-MejKot.gif http://www.zybez.net/img/npcimg/yt-mejkot180.gif</span>

A high powered monster that looks and acts suspiciously like Trogdor appears in the Runescape Minigame: Fight Caves. Its name is Yet-MajKot and it is a dragon-thing. It is S shaped, it shoots fire, it has spinities (some of which look like wings and a beefy arm). It is even mentioned on runescape.wikia.org article that he looks like ol' Troggy. I have managed to provide an image. --Jellote 20:46, 26 May 2009 (UTC)

:Hmmmm. Apart from the vague S shape it has and the fact it's standing on two legs, it doesn't really look anything like Trogdor to me. It doesn't have a single beefy arm, it doesn't have many consummate V's on its body and it's not even green. By using similar logic, you could argue that any dragon able to stand on its hind legs is a rip-off of Trogdor, if you ignore the fact that Trogdor is unlikely to have been the first bipedal dragon ever. So that dragon looks way too generic to be a homage to me. (By the way, does it have only one not-so-beefy arm?) 16:35, 27 May 2009 (UTC)
::I don't really see any clear reference to Trogdor either, especially when looked at from a couple of different angles. 20:00, 27 May 2009 (UTC)

::: I have a confession: I was the one who put that on the wikia. I don't know if that is fair, but either way I have since removed the fact and left a memo to my own post on the talk page. Rest in peace: Trodor the P0wninator. --Jellote 19:57, 29 May 2009 (UTC)
Runescape. For reals this time.
Out of compulsion, I searched for "Homestar" on the Runescape wiki and came up with three, count 'em, THREE results. The first is for the non-player-character Gjalp, whose examine text says "Behold her beefy arms". Not that strong of a reference, but moivng on: the Strang Object, when lit, will say "A strange little parcel. On fire." The interjection of "On fire" seems to refer to caffine. The last, weakest one is your character will mispronoune the princess's name as Marzipan. The only thing that suggest that this refers to her and not the food and Chowder location is that this quest was made when Marzipan was considered to be Princess of Town. After searching for H*R keywords I ound nothing more. Seriously. I didn't make these this time. I really found them. My username in Momo Mooman, and if you search the page history you'll see no mention of my username. Seriously. For reals. I know that from last time I stated something blatently incorrect, but this time I did my homework. This is for real. An was made recently that changed a few of the toy's quotes. I got my Strong Bad plush in February, and it doesn't say any of these expanded lines&mdash;just the shorter versions that were on the page before. Could it be that lines have been tweaked between restocks? Can anyone else who owns the plush weigh in? 06:29, 19 June 2021 (UTC)
:I have the one with the shorter quotes. I could scroll youtube and try to find a version with the expanded quotes and try to contact them, or this could be expanded upon on discord or here. ----J∃ffJMan 15:05, 15 February 2022 (UTC)
:My Strong Bad doll has the longer lines. I could get a video if you want. DogsStackedOnDogs 13:10, 28 December 2022 (UTC)
