== Unnamed Girl ==

If [[Unnamed Girl]] is a main character on H*R, why aren't the girls in [[Teen Girl Squad]] also main characters? Should the reference to her in "...the only female main character on the site (excepting the ''Unnamed Girl'' and Marzipan's 20x6 and 1936 counterparts)" be taken out? --[[User:oddtodd|oddtodd]] 16:31, 16 Nov 2004 (MST)

:I beleive the reason for that is that the girls in Teen Girl Squad live in their own universe apart for the H*R world (except for the glitch in [[virus]]). On the other hand the Unnamed Girl interacts with Homestar and Strong Bad in her appearances as if she was part of their world.
:Moreover, I think it should be important to mention that the fact that Marzipan is the only girl, is likely a parody on the Smurfs. --[[User:Stux|Stux]] 18:13, 23 Sep 2005 (UTC)
== Smurfs ==
There is a minor mistake in the fun facts selection. It says that the only female smurf was Smurfette. Sassette was also a female smurf and was a pretty common character.

Since this comment from a month ago hasn't been addressed, I'll go ahead and make a tentative change noting that Smurfette was not the only female Smurf. Smurfette and Sassette were created by magic (the former by Gargamel, the latter by the younger Smurfs), but my memory can't recall if Nanny Smurf has an origin story or if it was just left unexplained. I'll also make it a bit more ambiguous as to whether Marzipan is the only female in the Homestar universe, while noting she's the only main character who is female. :::Qermaq, sorry for sounding like a rudea&mdash;. A reply to this conversation: Marzipan's nature is pretty much that of a hippie, and hippies are liberal by definition. And a reply to Darth Katana X: "newbie"-ness has nothing to do with how long you've been around - it has much more to do with your attitude and the way you treat other users. If you act like a newbie and you are rude to people (especially when it's unnecessary and uncalled for), you'll get called a newbie/troll/whatever, and treated as such. That's how it works pretty much everywhere. {{User:KieferSkunk/sig}} 18:39, 8 May 2006 (UTC)

{{aboutcharacter}} {{foremail|marzipan}}

== Biography ==
'''Marzipan''' is the only female character among the [[Characters|primary characters]] of the [[Homestar Runner (Flash cartoon)|Homestar Runner universe]]. She is a tall and thin character, she wears her hair in a bright yellow ponytail, and she is almost always seen wearing a purple dress with white trim and gold buttons at the bottom. (In [[Marzipan's Answering Machine Version 12.2]], she reveals that yellow is not her true hair color, suggesting that she dyes it.) Like [[Homestar Runner]], she does not appear to have [[Lack of Visible Arms|visible arms]], but nevertheless she is able to pick up and handle objects and play the guitar. Marzipan is the only character voiced by [[Missy Palmer]].

Marzipan is Homestar's [[Homestar and Marzipan's Relationship|girlfriend]], and early on in the site's history, this seemed to be the primary reason for her existence. Her character has developed greatly over time, however, and their relationship no longer appears to be their main focus. Marzipan has actually broken up with Homestar several times, some of which were due to his unintentional mean streak, others so that she could demonstrate her independence. At times, Homestar even shows feelings of contempt and resentment toward his girlfriend, as seen in the email [[narrator]] (when he calls her "some type of enormous alien cow"), and in [[Happy Fireworks]] (when he uses a [[Cardboard Marzipan|cardboard cutout]] to imitate her and then tells her to shut up). Luckily for Homestar, she continues to love him dearly, and the two always seem to end up together again.

Marzipan's status as the only girl in [[Free Country, USA]] has made her the target of quite a few prank messages on her [[Marzipan's Answering Machine|answering machine]] (most of them left by Strong Bad), as well as the unsolicited romantic attentions of several other characters (most notably [[Coach Z]] and [[Bubs]]). Despite all of this, she is very kind, and she is friends with almost everyone (though she is not fond of [[The King of Town]], and she [[marzipan|really doesn't like Strong Bad at all]].)

[[Image:Marzysign.png|thumb|left|"I'm off to the Chinchilla protest."]]
[[Strong Bad]] once described Marzipan as a "dirty hippie without the dirt." She is a strict vegetarian &mdash; she especially enjoys tofu and soy products &mdash; and she spends much of her time singing and playing her guitar. Most of her songs are about happiness and nature. She often makes protest signs to express her views &mdash; among these are "[[Wikipedia:Chinchilla|Chinchillas]] OUT!! (of my basement)", "[[Decemberween|December Ween]] Kills Bunnies", and "Down with D'Ween".

[[Image:Marzycouchslouch.png|thumb|Marzipan relaxes]]
Marzipan has often been mistaken for a broom. Her "Joey Ramone" costume in [[The House That Gave Sucky Treats]] seems to suggest that she may actually be shaped like a broom. By contrast, the emails [[secret recipes]], [[date]] and [[secret identity]] all show her sitting in a manner that seems to contradict that possibility. In the email [[long pants]], she claims that she is not a broom, much to Homestar's surprise. In [[highschool]], she is shown to have long, skinny legs like Daphne from the Scooby-Doo cartoons, but due to the fact that Strong Bad has an "unphotographic memory" (or "doodle memory"), this may or may not be true.

Marzipan tends to anthropomorphize inanimate objects &mdash; for example, her guitar's name is [[Carol]], and she once asked [[Strong Sad]] to resurrect her ficus plant, [[Credenza]], from the dead. In addition, she has occasionally been fooled by poor imitations of Homestar, such as [[Tofu Homestar]] (in [[The Luau]]) and [[The Cheat|The Cheat's]] costume in the email [[do over#Easter Eggs|do over]]. She once named an ordinary sandwich "[[Homestar Jr.]]" and started treating it as though it were a small child, and in [[Halloween Potion-ma-jig]], she created a potion that could transform Homestar into several different forms, including a strange clone of herself. It is unclear if any of these behaviors reflect a desire to change, replace, or accept alternate versions of her boyfriend.

Marzipan sometimes works with other characters on various projects. For example, The Cheat made a Flash video for her song "[[Oh yeah yeah]]", and she recently teamed up with The Cheat and [[Strong Mad]] to form a band called [[Cool Tapes]], in which she sings lead and plays Carol. She has appeared in the ''[[Dangeresque]]'' series of short films, and she once attempted to teach Strong Bad how to make [[lady fan|an attractive centerpiece]] out of junk mail and kitty litter. She also has hosted a [[Fall Float Parade]] with Coach Z.

Although Marzipan currently wears a long dress that seems to fit her hippie lifestyle, Strong Bad's "doodle memory" shows us that, back in [[highschool|high school]], she had short hair and wore a very short skirt and lipstick.
When I'm not rockin' out, I like to dig in my garden and eat. I'm a fiercely independent woman, and I'm fiercely independent about the soy products that I choose. [[Image:grinning marzipan.png|thumb|Yes, she does have teeth.]]
* The [[Old Characters Page]], now in the [[Museum|museum]], said The King of Town was Marzipan's father. However, it is the only such reference on the site, and [[The Brothers Chaps]] have since reported in interviews (such as [[Club_Aquatica_Interview_-_29_Oct_2003|this]] one) that this was an idea they had early in the site's development but have since abandoned.
*[[Wikipedia:Marzipan|Marzipan]] is also a confectionery consisting primarily of ground almonds and sugar that derives its characteristic flavor from bitter almonds, which constitute 4% to 6% of total almond content by weight. Most marzipan is also flavored with [[Wikipedia:rosewater|rosewater]].
*In an interview with Wired magazine, Missy Palmer said that Marzipan started out as a hippie, but over time her personality has changed to match Missy's own.
*The character page title is a reference to Marzipan's [[Oh yeah yeah|song]] from the email [[marzipan]].
== Wilde Coincidence? ==

Your name is a reference to ''The Picture of Dorian Gray'', is it not? And furthermore, does that indicate that you identify with the character Dorian Gray, or are you just a fan of the book/movie/story/author? If you are referencing the novel, I'd love to hear your thoughts on it. I'm a big Oscar Wilde fan myself, and I wrote an essay on ''The Picture of Dorian Gray'' for Philosophy class, back in June. -[[User:Polly|Polly]] 07:47, 3 Aug 2005 (UTC)

:Actually, I've been trying to find the novel to read. I only know about Dorian Gray from the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen film. I like reading the background of such things, which is why I want the novel. I haven't yet had an oppurtunity to get to the library yet, and it's never in at the bookstore...
::EDIT: I got my mum to check the book out for me instead. All is well. --[[User:DorianGray|DorianGray]]

== Sorry for the edit ==

Ya sorry, that was pretty stupid of me, I just wanted to see if anyone would notice and change it. I promise nothing of the sort will happen again.
:That's quite all right. No lasting harm done, and it was all taken care of quickly. Thanks for apologising, though. I hope you enjoy the rest of your time here. ^-^ --[[User:DorianGray|DorianGray]]

== Moved examples into list ==

I hope it's okay, but on [[Talk:Ice Cream]] I went ahead and moved your examples into the list itself and put a note on it so others will edit it as they see fit. If you want, repost with your opinion on whether it should be a running gag. &mdash; [[User:It's dot com|It's dot com]] 03:48, 11 Aug 2005 (UTC)
:Yes, of course it's fine. Anything for the good of the wiki, yeah? --[[User:DorianGray|DorianGray]]
Have a good trip! Never mind the bullocks! &mdash; [[User:It's dot com|It's dot com]] 03:30, 16 Aug 2005 (UTC)

:England, huh? That's quite the trip you're taking. Hope it's a good one. We'll try to keep the wiki afloat during your absence, but it will be tough. Have a good time. &mdash;[[User:BazookaJoe|BazookaJoe]] 03:30, 16 Aug 2005 (UTC)
== Away Message Song ==

I'll be away in England for the next three weeks, y'all. Sorry. To make up for my not being here to help the Wiki, I offer you this away message song. Yes, it's the same 'Believe It Or Not' song that Homestar and George Costanza have sung to before. <br>

''Believe it or not,<br>''
''I'm away from the comp,<br>''
''So leave a message just for me.<br>''
''I must be out, or I'd IM you back.<br>''
''Where could I be?<br>''
''Believe it or not, you're alone!<br>''

Please, hold your applause. --[[User:DorianGray|DorianGray]]
:Well, Seany-sama, how was England? If you're from Pennsylvania, how come you spell favorite "favourite"? I'm from Texas, one of your other favou&mdash;I mean, favorite places. &mdash; [[User:It's dot com|It's dot com]] 22:28, 5 Sep 2005 (UTC)
::I spell everything the English way coz, well, coz I'm so hung up on England. Originally, though, it was a side effect from visiting Neopets and it's just stuck with me. And all those other reasons about it actually being the real and correct spelling and all. And as for England itself... Well, to tell the truth, it's not so different from here, except for the television programmes, when you get right down to it. But, despite being faintly similar, it was a total blast.
:::Did you go to the tower, or the abbey, or the palace? Did you ride the Eye? The last time I was there, I got to drive a car by myself through the cities and highways of Scotland. ''That'' was fun, and not just a little weird being on the wrong side of the road. &mdash; [[User:It's dot com|It's dot com]] 23:57, 5 Sep 2005 (UTC)
::::Me, I didn't really do much of anything a normal tourist does. I went up to stay with my friend, who I met a couple years ago online. We've been planning this forever. I stayed at her house up in Nottingham, so most of the sights I saw were generally A) really cool and loud, 2) around the general Nottingham area, and D) more "fun" than "historic" or "tourist-y". My mum and sister did the whole bus-tour thing throughout England, Wales, Scotland, Ireland, and even nipped down to France for a day, though. But I was more content to stay with my best friend than go sightseeing.

==Sound Effects==
I think it's great you're spearheading this project. Look at the formatting changes I just made (putting each table cell on a new line and a space after the align=center part). I think that makes the code easier to read. Also, be sure to link every instance in the last column. A user shouldn't have to search up and down the list for a link. &mdash; [[User:It's dot com|It's dot com]] 17:31, 14 Sep 2005 (UTC)
:All right. Thanks for the advice (and the help). And I just like making lists. I have tons of similar lists on my computer (none are H*R related, though). --[[User:DorianGray|DorianGray]]
Um, have you been known to collect synonyms? I saw that in your entry. --[[User:The 386|The 386]] 00:31, 4 Oct 2005 (UTC)

:For some things. Synonyms are useful if you write a lot. That way, you don't come off as boring by repeating yourself. --[[User:DorianGray|DorianGray]]

So, we all know that. But do you REALLY do that for a livin'? --[[User:The 386|The 386]] 00:33, 4 Oct 2005 (UTC)

:Currently, I don't do ''anything'' for a living. I do it as more of a hobby. --[[User:DorianGray|DorianGray]]

== Hobbies ==

I see. Why is that your hobby? --[[User:The 386|The 386]] 00:36, 4 Oct 2005 (UTC)

:I think 'coz I'm weird like that' works best here. Anyway, I have a lot of hobbies, some of which I take more seriously. Some, like my synonym collections, are just for fun. --[[User:DorianGray|DorianGray]]

I think you're right. If you want, you can tell me about synonyms in my talk page. --[[User:The 386|The 386]] 00:39, 4 Oct 2005 (UTC)
About the Star Wars intro on [[haircut]], I was really tired when I heard that. The "Da Da Da Dear" sounded like the opening notes of the Star Wars main theme to me, at the time. Now it just sounds...not like that.
==Reverts==
I would like to help out the site. Can you tell me how a revert works? [[User:Marth 99|Marth 99]]
:Sure I can! When a page has been trolled or had a bad edit made, the simplest way to change it back is to revert it. Each page has a history of every edit made to it, see. Up at the top, you'll notice a little tab marked "history" (it's the fourth from the left, usually). Click on that and it'll bring up a page of all the edits made to that page, most recent ones on the top. Find the version you want to change it back to and click the date for that version. This will bring that version up in the window for editing. Just type "reverted" or "rv" (or "rv/v" for vandalism) ito the edit summary box beneath it and hit "save page". And that will correct the whole page! I hope that helps. If not, check out the [[Help:Contents|Help pages]] for more information. --[[User:DorianGray|DorianGray]]
:::Happens all the time. If you check the Contribs of trolls who vandalise userpages, I bet most will have another edit that was reverted by the same person whose page they ruined. I cropped out everything but his head, and rotated, resized, and/or flipped it 'til it was layered perfectly over a normal Quote of the Week box with the current Homestar in it. And there it was: one old-school Homestar quote. However, since my editing software is now kaput, I can't do any more specialised quotes like that. Ah, well. --[[User:DorianGray|DorianGray]]
::What do you mean kaput? --[[User:Stux|Stux]] 18:36, 3 February 2006 (UTC)
:::It won't load anymore. Click it, nothing happens. Also, since all PNGs are saved to open directly from that program, now if you wish to open a PNG, you have to right click and find "Open With..." and open it with something like Picture and Fax Viewer or Paint. --[[User:DorianGray|DorianGray]]
==Squeaketycoo==
On the other hand, can we hold up just a sec on the unsqueaking? I think there ''are'' a few times when it's okay. After all, Strong Bad does call "a little yellow squeaky thing". Specifically, if he makes a ''single'' noise, like "Meh!", that isn't exactly a scream, then I think that could best be called a squeak. It's more wieldy than '''THE CHEAT:''' ''{makes a The Cheat noise}''. Also [http://www.hrwiki.org/index.php?title=The_Best_Decemberween_Ever&curid=1024&diff=297773&oldid=297028&rcid=244845 this] seems like a good candidate for squeaking: the intent is to say he "sings along," but what the Cheat does can't really be called singing. About the best thing it can be called, then, is squeaking. &mdash;[[User:AbdiViklas|AbdiViklas]] 17:23, 31 March 2006 (UTC)
== Greetings to you all! ==
I am DorianGray (note the lack of space, so as not to confuse me with the [[Wikipedia:Dorian Gray|character]] I'm named for). My close friends call me Seany-sama (or just Seany), which is what I'd prefer to be called if you must refer to me by name. Although I have now also become accustomed to being called Dorian (and Gary, at least on [[HRWiki:IRC|IRC]]). Around here, you may also know me as Annonymous User Number [[Special:Contributions/69.139.163.12|69.139.163.12]]. This account was made at the suggestion to make an account. (Well, it was made earlier, but only just for a test. There was never any formal acknowledgement of a link between the two until now.) Most of my edits have been--but, unfortunately, probably won't continue to be--made by that name. I have grown a peculiar attachment to it, however. Yeah, I'm weird.

== Aboot Me ==
Well, now I suppose is the point where I talk about myself. I'm male. I'm 19. I live in Pennsylvania--but you wouldn't guess it from my speech. I'm very hung up on England, Texas, and Hawaii (my three best friends live in those locations), and my speech reflects it (and I type exactly the way I speak, so there you go).

== Non-H*R Interests ==
Trying to list my non-H*R interests could take hours, so I'll just say I'm an anime and Nintendo freak and leave it at that. If you want a further list, I'll make one. Otherwise, skip to the next section.
== H*R and Me ==
My introduction to [[Homestar Runner|Homestar]], [[Strong Bad]], and the rest can be attributed to my friend [http://abra-chan.deviantart.com/ Koneko]. She's to blame. She sent me a link to [[sibbie]], and it all went from there. I can also tell you that it was sometime between [[colonization]] and [[video games]], based on the [[Scroll Button Songs|scroll button song]]. As of now, I have seen every single thing on the site (except for the [[Stinkoman 20X6 Enemies and Items#Bosses|20X6 bosses]], but more on that later). I consider myself to be a wealth of information, but I really get it all from this wiki right here. I don't even visit the [[HR:intro.html|main site]] to check for updates anymore...

== Stinkoman ==
[[Stinkoman]] is by far my favourite character. I'd love for there to be a real [[20X6]] anime. I'd watch it. [[Stinkoman 20X6|The game]] is a good start, but for the life of me, I can't beat a single stage of it (except [[Stinkoman 20X6 Walkthrough Level 3#Stage 3.2 (Transcript)|3.2]], and even that takes a good 45 minutes or more). It's still fun anyways. Stinkoman, incidentally, was how I found the [[Main Page|HRWiki]]. I did a [http://images.google.com/images?q=Stinkoman&hl=en Google Image search] for Stinkoman, and one link lead here (I think). Anyways, I'm here now, and here I will stay. It's where I spend most of my time online.

== [[User:DorianGray/Userbox|Me and the Wiki]]==
[[Image:SBLOUNSKCHED in progress2.PNG|thumb|My contributions: A myriad of weird things.]]
Well. That bit about Stinkoman told you how I found the place. And, if you're too busy to look at my [[Special:Contributions/DorianGray|contributions]], I'm-a tell you what it is I do here. This'll go quick, dun worry.
*I make a number of small edits that try to aid the Wiki. I mean, tons of them. Look at the last entry on my interests list to see why. I've also gotten quite good at noticing vandals and reverting them. Much fast am I.
*I like voting on [[HRWiki:STUFF|STUFF]]. I watch all the entries I vote on the way someone might watch a favoured sports team. It's about all the excitement I get.
*As such, from my STUFF watching (and a like of reading talk pages), I have an encyclopedic knowledge of declined Fun Facts. This helps get rid of bad stuff people like to keep adding.
*My best accomplishment is [[Sound Effects]]. On [[User:It's dot com|It's dot com]]'s suggestion, I made the page. I have a love for making lists, and I made almost all that page myself. Some people helped with formatting, but I did almost all the content. And [[User:Smileyface11945|Smileyface11945]] added the very cool OGG files to the page. Feel free to help me out too!
*I also like to clean and protect the wiki. I helped serve against the NSMC attack in November '05, and was subsequently rewarded with [[User talk:DorianGray#Defender of the Wiki|a special trophy]], which makes me very happy when I look at it. ^-^ I also added a mass amount of "deleted" templates to the images that were [[Talk:More Fan Costumes#Pictures|not fair use]].
*I was one of the highest hit in the mass spam-mail attack from the NSMC bot at '''4,868''' password reminder emails, second only to [[User:Bubsty|Bubsty]].
*I fixed, like, all the debuts to bold the colon and appear before the appearance, through clever use of the [http://www.hrwiki.org/index.php/Special:Search?search=debut search window] and CTRL+F. It was actually kind of fun, in a tedious sort of way.
*I made the discovery that some pages were listing [[Places]] as having "Filmographies". After a brief discussion, I changed the few that had such a listing to "Appearances" (and one that had an [http://www.hrwiki.org/index.php?title=Crazy_Go_Nuts_University&diff=prev&oldid=220553 "As seen in"]).
*I've not gotten to do a transcript yet--those things are tough. At least not on this wiki. I did do the entire transcript for the Bonus Stage episode [http://www.bswiki.com/index.php/Bonus_Stages Bonus Stages] on the BSWiki, though. It still gave me a feeling of accomplishment, so I wanted to share.
*I made the page for [[Main Page Glitches]], but [[User:Jay|Jay]] actually made the table, and I can't take the credit for that. But I made the page.
*I also did a lot of work for [[Ham]], looking up the appearances, adding the descriptions, and finally adding some links once it was accepted to stay.
*I created [[School]] somewhat at random, and was surprised it hadn't already been done. I also created a [[:Category:Animals|category for animals]].

Hey, when is <nowiki>{{PAGENAME}}</nowiki> needed in a Category? I've seen it used for, say, templates, but I guess it's not needed for more run-of-the-mill categories.
:While categorizing pages, they are sorted by their first letter, but when doing so to templates, they are all categorized in the letter T (for '''T'''emplate). Using <nowiki>{{PAGENAME}}</nowiki> force the system into using the true name of the page. It is never used on mainspace articles, as their full name is the true one, but rather in other namespaces like Help, Category, Template, HRWiki, User, MediaWiki and other variants. {{User:E.L. Why did you revert the edits I made to my sig? {{User:Tampo/sig}} 17:47, 27 May 2006 (UTC)
:Your sig is linked to [[Special:Whatlinkshere/User:Tampo/sig|from so many places]], that changing it to what you did will cause every page displaying it as that box. That box also break several [[HRWiki:Signature|signeture rules]]. {{User:E.L. Cool/sig}} 19:12, 27 May 2006 (UTC)
::{{sigbox|User:Tampo/sig}}
::My signature is small enough to fit inside the box. Also the message that says "There is currently no text on this page You can..." doesn't show up when I use my sig. {{User:Tampo/sig}} 20:04, 27 May 2006 (UTC)
:::When I saw your edit all I saw was a bulk of code and the box beneath it. I didn't have time to spend checking every line of it to see if and where you put <nowiki><includeonly></nowiki> and similar tags inside of it. I oppose all that trickery and If I claimed to have reverted your signature because of it breaking the rules, then I now claim that I did so because of those include tags. I don't know what reasons you have for not allowing people to see your sig when they access it's page but the act of hiding it is discourged. Next time use plain, visible code. {{User:E.L.
'''Teen Girl Squat''' began in the [[Strong Bad Email]] [[comic]], when a girl named Brittany asked if [[Strong Bad]] could make a comic strip about her four friends: Virginia, Joy, Kristin, and Jennifer. Strong Bad's spur of the moment comic strip soon became a series of its own. Teen Girl Squat centers on four teenage girls &mdash; [[Cheerleader]], [[So and So]], [[What's Her Face]], and [[The Ugly One]] &mdash; who like to buy clothes, attract cute boys and look "SO GOOD!" Unfortunately, they are often subjected to the random dangers of Strong Bad's overactive imagination. Being [[Death|killed]] doesn't seem to be a problem for the girls, however, for they are always back for the next episode.
:I just added in the "Sample" under issues and left the 404 page and virus appearance as is. IMO, "Sample" is more of a partial-issue and and virus is just a reference (it's only one line...). Having Sample as a "half-issue" of TGS makes sense to me, but not virus or the 404 page. <small><tt>[[User:Homestar Coder|<font color=#8B0000>Aurora the Homestar Coder</font>]]</tt></small> 16:04, 3 Apr 2005 (MDT)

Teen Girl Squad seem to be a parody of Funky Friends (A girly fad). I once saw a comic about them that was very similar to Episode 3. One of the girls even looks like What's-Her-Face.

Although the concept of everybody dying is absent, TGS reminds me of Girl Squad from an episode of Dexter's Lab, wherein a bunch of girls would do stupid stuff because they thought they were fighting crime.

== Too biographical? ==

Do we need so much info on the TGS' character pages? (i.e. stuff that happened in one toon) Shouldn't we stick with the general stuff? And seriously, dump "Cheerleader/What's Her Face/The Ugly One's real name is either Virginia, Joy, or Jennifer"; the names given [[comic]] are likely to be never used again. --<span style="color: #adff2f">[[User:Trogga|TROGGA!]]</span> 02:34, 14 May 2005 (UTC)

:I think the more information that we can get (besides obvious stuff, like, "Cheerleader starts with 'C'") the better. &rarr;''<small><tt>[[User:FireBird|<font color=green>FireBird</font>]]</tt></small>''

[[wikipedia:Whatever_Happened_to_Robot_Jones|Whatever happened to]] [[HRWiki:Once And Only Once|Once And Only Once]]? --<span style="color: #adff2f">[[User:Trogga|TROGGA!]]</span> 03:19, 14 May 2005 (UTC)

::To chime in with my two cents: I don't agree fully with either of you (I just have to be belligerent, huh? ;) ). Trogga: I think you take Once and Only Once far too seriously. It's okay if some information is duplicated, as long as it is duplicated appropriately. By your standards, there wouldn't be any character pages, because everything about the characters can logically be found in the various Toon pages... Firebird: The TGS character pages do seem a bit too cluttery to me. I think that character pages really should be about general character traits. The "hurt by" lists seem a bit excessive to me, especially as more TGS's appear... it would be like putting Strong Bad's email songs all listed on Strong Bad's character page... <small><tt>[[User:Homestar Coder|<span style="color:#8B0000;">Aurora the Homestar Coder</span>]]</tt></small> 03:24, 14 May 2005 (UTC)

:::I say we reword and brush out all the little stuff in the biography, and keep the "Hurt By" sections. This way the bio looks clean and all the things in it can go into "Hurt By". Make sense? (I'm sure it doesn't.) &rarr;''<small><tt>[[User:FireBird|<font color=green>FireBird</font>]]</tt></small>''

::::That sounds aprettypretty good. The "hurt by" lists are fine if you don't have the same stuff written up in the biographical paragraph (which is how it is now). <small><tt>[[User:Homestar Coder|<span style="color:#8B0000;">Aurora the Homestar Coder</span>]]</tt></small> 03:32, 14 May 2005 (UTC)

I think that it only seems cluttered (even to me) because there aren't as many toons that they are in. That means that if you like them, you will watch the same things over again and if you want more information, you turn here. But since you have allready seen everything, it seems a bit repetitive.

== StereoTypes!!!! ==

Don't the TGS members look a lot like high school stereotypes? -Kinsey
== its vs. it's - Running gag status? ==

''On the closing screen, the contraction "it's" is misspelled as the possessive "its."''

Is this a running gag or a goof? Please make your statements in the proper area below.

'''Arguments for Running gag:'''
*Obviously not every running gag appears in every issue; The Birds are a running gag too, and only appear in some issues. The fact that it happens four non-consecutive times argues against it being accidental, but I think it should be noted in some way.
*The fact that it's repeated 4 times--but not every time--increases its import.

'''Arguments for Goof:'''
*Also, it represents a grammar error on Strong Bad's part, which we tend to point out since he's so picky with other people.
*If it's a gag, then why come it doesn't happen every issue?
*The TGS font does't include apostrophes. Everytime TBC want to use one, they have to manually add it in. I guess it's not always worth the effort. Even Whats Her Face is missing an apostrophe. - {{User:Joshua/sig}}
**I think it's just them being lazy. - {{User:Joshua/sig}} 19:58, 5 Oct 2005 (UTC)
*It's just an accident that has happened to occur multiple times. {{User:Some HSR themed username/sig}} 19:26, 5 Oct 2005 (UTC)
*Mike has admitted that he has trouble with its/it's. [[User:BazookaJoe|BazookaJoe]] 19:40, 5 Oct 2005 (UTC)
*I think they're sometimes just lazy with this... but a lazy goof is still a goof. &mdash; [[User:It's dot com|It's dot com]] 19:45, 5 Oct 2005 (UTC)
*It is a simple gramatical error. Nothing more, nothing less. Come ''on'' people! {{User:Rogue Leader/sig}} 21:14, 5 Oct 2005 (UTC)

'''Additional comments:'''
*Either way, it gets listed. Both goofs and running gags are automatically noted. &mdash; [[User:It's dot com|It's dot com]] 19:34, 5 Oct 2005 (UTC)

== Color vs. Black & White ==
For character pages, should we update the images with the color versions, where appropiate? Or should we just leave as is? Or should we put up a color image along with the black-and-white one? - {{User:Joshua/sig}} 15:53, 10 October 2005 (UTC)

:Like [[Strong Bad|many]] [[Homestar Runner|other]] [[Strong Mad|pages]], I believe we should have ''both'' versions on the TGS character pages. {{User:gwr2004/sig}} 00:16, 11 October 2005 (UTC)
::I agree. The black-and-white pictures are the standard, so I think they definitely need to stay. However, the color pictures are interesting and show a version of what the characters look like. They both have a place. -[[User:Unknownwarrior33|Unknownwarrior33]] 23:39, 5 February 2006 (UTC)
== Capitalization ==
Okay guys, what's our policy on transcribing the TG's dialogue, with regard to capitalization? I mean, they don't capitalize ''anything''; we go as far as capitalizing the first letters of sentences for them. But shouldn't "it's our tenth issuev-ersary" '''not''' transcribe as "Issue-versary"? &mdash;[[User:AbdiViklas|AbdiViklas]] 00:05, 11 October 2005 (UTC)
:Given that it doesn't really affect the readability of the page, I don't think it's worth worrying about. -[[User:Unknownwarrior33|Unknownwarrior33]] 23:42, 5 February 2006 (UTC)

== Real-World Reference? ==

The TGS' refrain, "SO GOOD!" is the name of a song in the Bratz Rock Angelz Album. Ironically, the Bratz resemble the same teen girl stereotype:fashion-obsessed, trendy girls. Should this be mentioned?(By the way, the only reason I know this is because I was clicking "Random Page" on Wikipedia and stumbled apon it. I don't play with Bratz!) [[User:Llamanade|Llamanade]] 03:49, 29 November 2005 (UTC)
:Depending on when the Bratz CD came out, it's more likely a [[Sightings|sighting]], if it's anything. I.e. if it was after Dec. 2, 2002. But it's most likely a coincidence; James Brown's hit [[Wikipedia:I Got You {I Feel Good)|]] also features those words prominently, but that doesn't make this a reference to that. &mdash;[[User:AbdiViklas|AbdiViklas]] 04:04, 29 November 2005 (UTC)

== "er" vs "a" ==

Anybody else find it a bit odd how the girls say their "er" suffixes as "a"? For example, see [[Olda Boys]]. Does anyone else think this is important enough to warrant some mention on the Wiki? --[User:breadtangle breadtangle] ([User_talk:breadtangle talk]) 02:38, 1 December 2005 (UTC)
:So do I. I recommend we mention it on this page. -[[User:Unknownwarrior33|Unknownwarrior33]] 23:43, 5 February 2006 (UTC)

==See Also vs Navigation Template==

Do we really need "See Also" if we have the navigation template at the bottom of the page with many of the links already there? And if it isn't in the template, shouldn't it be? I think the template is enough, using "See Also" only in instances where there is no Temlate, yet there is still a distinct link between no more than 2 or 3 pages. Good examples are [[Floppy Disk Container]] &#8660; [[Couch Mumbling]], and [[Quote of the Week]] &#8660; [[Weekly Fanstuff]] &#8660; [[Sketchbook]]. And then of course disambiguation is used only when the pages have similar page names. {{User:Thunderbird L17/Siggie}} 06:35, 21 December 2005 (UTC)

=="Back" Button==

Is it worth mentioning that in some issues the back button will bring you to the toons menu and in other issues it will bring you back to the TGS issue menu thing?

:Sure! {{User:Thunderbird L17/Siggie}} 01:45, 24 December 2005 (UTC)
==South park similarities==
has anyone noticed the similarities between south park and tgs? for example, they die and then are back in the next episode with no explanation. same with south park's kenny mccormick. also, both have bad animation, feature four friends as the main characters, and have intentionally bad voice acting. ~ [[User:StrongChad|StrongChad]] 04:07 pm, 1/29/06
:Never thought about it before, but I'm willing to chalk it up to coincidence. --{{User:Jay/sig}} 00:08, 30 January 2006 (UTC)
::I agree. The brothers chaps have been known to express their hatred of things like south park, so they probably didnt' mean to be like it. {{User: Seriously/sig}} 23:40, 5 February 2006 (UTC)

Maybe the reason that it is similar to south park is because they hate it; perhaps its something like a parody (I know that its a bit of a stretch). Plus, I think that there are still enough similarities, intentional or not, that it should be mentioned. ~ [[User:StrongChad|StrongChad]] 03:36 pm, 2/17/06

:::Good idea. That may just be true. {{User: Seriously/sig}} 23:47, 17 February 2006 (UTC)
'''Teen Girl Squad''' began in the [[Strong Bad Email]] [[comic]], when a girl named Brittany asked if [[Strong Bad]] could make a comic strip about her four friends: Virginia, Joy, Kristin, and Jennifer. Strong Bad's spur of the moment comic strip soon became a series of its own. Teen Girl Squad centers on four teenage girls &mdash; [[Cheerleader]], [[So and So]], [[What's Her Face]], and [[The Ugly One]] &mdash; who like to buy clothes, attract cute boys and look "SO GOOD!" Unfortunately, they are often subjected to the random dangers of Strong Bad's overactive imagination. Being [[Death|killed]] doesn't seem to be a problem for the girls, however, for they are always back for the next episode.
