Recap
This was originally posted on It's dot com's talk page. He realizes, however, that he will not be able to give this one a good answer for a few days, and doesn't want Kookykman to have to wait that long. Therefore, he is moving the question here to a more public place where anyone can address it.

Can I get a recap (no need to be brief, I have time) of the things that have happened here since the start of December? The wiki seems very different after my short break. o_0 - 02:53, 15 February 2006 (UTC)
:Indeed. Probably the most easily summed-up change was The Tale of the Guestbooks. Aside from that, we gained some regularly-editing members and lost others. <s>I'll let It's dot com</s> elaborate, elucidate, expatiate, illustrate, lucubrate, and/or corroborate. &mdash;AbdiViklas 06:23, 15 February 2006 (UTC)
::Well, I never liked guestbooks anyway. So good riddance, I say! Also, I've noticed the blurry and insanely hard to read letter codes for annonys... Who left? Who came? (I feel like an idiot asking all these questions, when I used to be Mr. In-The-Loop. =P) - 20:44, 15 February 2006 (UTC)
:::Among others, Bubsty left. For, like, a year... Others have come. --DorianGray
::::And the blurry letters, a.k.a. "Captcha," are the upshot of the NSMC event (I believe you were around for that, right?), verifying that anonnys are actually real human beings. &mdash;AbdiViklas 01:32, 16 February 2006 (UTC)
:::::Yeah, I was around for NSMC, but these numbers are a little too blurry and twisty, even by usual website twisty and blurry standards. - 21:28, 16 February 2006 (UTC)

Where's the New Weeklies on the WIki??? February 16, 2006
I was just on the official H*R website and its got new weeklies. The wiki hasn't posted it yet and I don't know how to add it.
I thought this site was so we didn't have to go onto the official site to look for updates.
:Yes, but we don't have superhuman speed. It usually takes a few minutes for it to update along with the site, and a few hours to finish a new toon's page. - 00:16, 17 February 2006 (UTC)

:It's correct that it takes time, because last year, I got on the official website and watched Happy Fireworks at about 9:00 A.M., and had to create the wiki page for it, so it's a good thing we have so many contributors. -Penguindude
Napoleon Dynamite is a Homestar Rip-Off??
I have this theory, that Napoleon Dynamite is a live-action rip-off of the homestar runner universe and characters. I've posted my evidence / conspiracy theory here: http://andrew.hicox.com/?article_id=97 what do you guys think? am I crazy?

:I believe that you have several good points in your post, but that would just have to be a major conspiracy. The Brothers Chaps could sue for hundreds of millions of dollars. I'm afraid it's probably just a coincidence. &mdash; 13:55, 17 February 2006 (UTC)
Vandalism of other wikis
This is notice that vandalism of other wikis in the name of the Homestar Runner Wiki will not be tolerated. Anyone found vandalizing another wiki in our name will be blocked on this wiki for a duration at least as long as if the vandalism had occurred here. &mdash; It's dot com 21:00, 18 February 2006 (UTC)
: I apologize greatly for what I have done in the past, and I accept full responsibility for what I did. It seems that I may have started a trend of wiki-vandalism, And I also apologize greatly for that. Since I trolled before this rule wa made, I kind of have a loophole out of this, but I would not mind spending the time off anyway. 21:04, 18 February 2006 (UTC)
Two great ideas
I have two great ideas.

1. We should list how many frames each toon is.
2. We should have a category for toons and emails with commercials in them.

What do you think? 18:13, 20 February 2006 (UTC)

:I don't think the number of frames in a toon is really notable. I know of at least one case where it is, and it's noted in the respective article. As for commercials, that's not something we would have a category for.&nbsp;-- Tom 20:52, 20 February 2006 (UTC)
::It's also noted in 500 The Cheats, since counting the frames means counting The Cheats. Besides those two special cases, Running Time pretty much covers the burning question - which toon's longer. 21:08, 20 February 2006 (UTC)
:And regarding #2, I don't think, unless the toon actually is a commercial, it's very useful. But it could be a useful category for such commercials, such as Meet Marshie. 21:11, 20 February 2006 (UTC)
::There are lots I can thing of, such as Meet Marshie (as mentioned 'bove), Cheat Commandos...O's, Cheat Commandos, Fluffy Puff Commercial (sort of), and Strong Bad Sings to name a few obivous ones. Add to that there's also several trailers, such as Peasant's Quest Movie Trailer and Peasant's Quest Preview, plus In Search of the Yello Dello Theatrical Trailer. I'm not sure exactly how to sort 'em, I'm just listing. 21:19, 20 February 2006 (UTC)

I just experienced some problems, too.
Inside/Outside
I'd like to make a proposition, but that might get me in trouble, so I'll make a proposal instead.

In the talk page for Under Construction, I mention that all the items mentioned in the "Real World References" section are cartoons and games. At the time I suggested changing it to "External References", but I now realize that's dumb. However, I think "Outside References" might not be too bad. After all, it usually follows "Inside References" in the articles, right? E.L. Cool said "Although the cartoons and games are not "Real World", they are published in the real world, as in the world outside of the Homestar Runner universe." This therefore suggests that anything outside the H*R universe is "real life", which doesn't quite... um... follow logic, in my opinion. "Outside References" would be more accurate.

Joshua and Lapper pointed out that it would be a massive project to affect this change on all articles. I don't know how major changes like this happen on these wiki things, if there's a vote or whatever, but if it's decided that a change would be appropriate, I think it would be easy to simply ask if anyone would volunteer to start the edits, and then split the task among those who volunteered. For example, I would start doing it on all of the Strong Bad Email articles, and when I was done with that I would see what else hadn't been changed left and offer to help with those sections.

Sorry that this isn't very eloquent, I usually don't sound this stupid. But you have to admit, I at least deserve props for making proper usage of the word "affect" instead of erroneously saying "effect". - Uglinessman 14:57, 13 March 2006 (UTC)

:It does make sense to me. If this is accepted, then I volunteer to do TGS and Short Toons. --אוקאלייליי (Ookelaylay)

:Please, do not feel stupid for making a serious proposal. True, it's a major change in our standards, but it still worth our time and consideration.
:You quoted my reply from the Under Construction talk page, but you twisted what I said. I didn't say that anything outside the Homestar Runner universe is "real world". As you wrote, that would be unlogical. What I did say that anything published outside of the Homestar Runner universe counts as real world.
:Here is an example from Under Construction: The fun fact is "Stickly Man is almost certainly a reference to the popular Flash cartoon series Xiao Xiao, where stick figures battle in elaborately-choreographed fight scenes." If you'll go to the Wikipedia link provided inside the fact you'll see that "Xiao Xiao is a Flash cartoon series by Chinese animator Zhu Zhiqiang, featuring stick-figure men performing choreographed fight scenes." Now, Mr. Zhiqiang is a man living in the real world. In the contrary, let's take a look on the Teen Girl Squad page: "Strong Bads spur of the moment comic strip soon became a series of its own." Strong Bad is in the Homestar Runner universe, and therefor any fun fact mentioning TGS, is not real world.
:Hope this answers your question, 15:12, 13 March 2006 (UTC)

::I still disagree with the distinction, because the human beings responsible for the entire Homestar Runner site also live in the same "real world" as Zhu Zhiqiang. The fact that, within the site's mythology, the character of Strong Bad "created" TGS doesn't change the fact that the entire site, including Strong Bad, Trogdor and PanPan, were all created by humans in the same "real world" as anything outside of H*R that gets referenced. The audio commentaries on the DVD blur and confuse this line even further, since some commentaries are voiced by characters, some by humans not speaking in characters, and some in combination. Basically, nothing I've read so far has convinced me that "Real World" is a good term for this distinction. - Uglinessman 19:52, 13 March 2006 (UTC)

:::I do not support changing the name. From the perspective of TBC, anything taken from outside the universe of H*R qualifies as something found in their real world, as opposed to the world that they created. The fact that they may be referencing other works of fiction doesn't change the fact that these other works really exist. I think this is a distinction without a difference, and not really worth changing. &mdash; It's dot com 20:13, 13 March 2006 (UTC)

::::I do support changing the name. I think it sounds much better, as technically the cartoons are real-life too. Everything we talk about on this wiki is in real life, and so to avoid complications it would be better to change it to outside references. :::::I also do not support changing the name. As It's dot com said, anything "outside" of the Homstar Runner universe is the "real-world". ::::::::::How is "Real World" clearer? This doesn't seem very clear.
I thought this site was so we didn't have to go onto the official site to look for updates.
:It's correct that it takes time, because last year, I got on the official website and watched Happy Fireworks at about 9:00 A.M., and had to create the wiki page for it, so it's a good thing we have so many contributors.

::::::::::How is "Real World" clearer? Real world human beings have done DVD audio commentaries (not in character), yet anything referencing these commentaries is an "Inside Reference", which by distinction under the current system is not "real world", despite the fact that the humans exist in the real world, and did their commentary as real world humans rather than within-the-H*R-universe characters. This doesn't seem very clear.
While some people here are probably familiar with the Monty Python routine you're alluding to, it doesn't change the fact that it's a nonsensical addition. Is "shock-you-mentary" (or, more likely, "shockumentary") a real word? I've heard of "mockumentaries" and "crockumentaries," but I'm not sure about "shockumentaries." If it is, maybe we should add an explanation about it; if it's not, maybe we should note its similarity to the other words I mentioned. :Well, technically, mock- and crockumentary aren't real words either, just media derivations from the word documentary. You could have schlockumentaries, jockumentaries, lockumentaries, sockumentaries, and even the occasional deep-fried haddockumentaries. ===Level -0.1 (Guide)===

*You start at the wall you blasted. Go forward and soon you'll leave the bit of land and will be walking on air. A Poorbt will appear and fire at you. Kill him or ignore him and walk forward, where a Jaro and Frotzer will be. Also, you'll fall off the air and land on the ground.
*Go to the edge and jump to the stone platform, and then to the ladder. Climb up it and take care of the Terrel and continue forward.
*Jump to the cloud and jump or run to the Conveyor belt before the cloud disappears. Jump to the ladder, climb it and fall to the stone platform below. Destroy the Biztar and continue.
*Walk off the edge, being careful of the Bendini Sisters, and you'll land on trees.
*Challenge the Gaspeau and go forward. You'll see a Trapdoor that works in reverse. You can land on it while it's down, yet you'll fall when it's up. Jump past it and eliminate the Chorch. Jump past the Assorted Platforms to the rapidly changing platform below, but watch out for the Kolkaryu.
*Climb the ladder of ducks and destroy the Grundy and Chorch up there. Before going on, jump down into the ovens stacked on one another: there's a hidden power crunch for you. Go back up the ladder and ignore the Stothos; it's difficult to hit him and not worth your time. Continue on to the two platforms.
*Take them to the next area where you'll see a Drill and a switch like the one from level 4. Run onto the platform to be teleported. Watch out, as there will be 3 Jaros waiting for you. (If you look closely, you can see an Astromund jumping around at the bottom.)
*Ignore the discolored capsule off to your left - it's poisoned and hurts you instead of healing you. Ignore the next set of platforms. The first won't help you, and you go through the second.
*Climb the Retractable Ladder and go past the large assortment of platforms to the two conveyor belts. The first one doesn't work and the second one works in reverse. Shoot the Biztars and progress. Watch out for the Piedmont. Go forward, killing the My Benjs.
*You'll then come across 3 Lundfords lined up on top of each other. Go past them, as well as the Porchis, deafeat the Stobat. And then you'll meet a large assortment of Chorches, Greggos, and a Terrel.
*There's a capsule ahead, but watch out, because again, there's a Frotzer and a set of Bendini Sisters guarding it. Grab it and go forward to see a pile of Gokuls, with a Blue Browntant on top, and a Pink Cham Cham under them.
*Destroy everything that you can, since you can't reach the Pink Cham Cham, and walk through the lava-fall - it's fake, and won't hurt you. There's also a Gaspeau and a Grundy too. Go past them, go up the retractable ladder, and destroy the Terrel. Go to the array of ladders, and go to the first one there.
*Climb all the way up to the top, and you can stand on it. Jump forward to land on an invisible platform. Walk forward and you'll fall and land on a retractable ladder. Destroy the Chorch, jump to the next ladder, and destroy the Gaspeau.
*Walk forward to walk on air, watching out for the Kolkaryu. Climb down the Retractable ladder, and then down the duck ladder. When you go down the duck ladder, a switch platform from Level 4 will try to smack into you.
*Walk forward, avoiding the Postlethwaite's lightning. Defeat the Chorch and be sure to jump to land on the invisible platform because if you just walk, you will fall and lose a life. Watch out for the Bendini Sisters that are waiting. Go to the rapidly changing platform.
*Go to the Set of Trapdoors. Remember that they work in reverse, so jump when they're down and you'll land on them. Eliminate the Stobat and get the Power crunch he leaves behind. Jump over the Lundsfords and now you're on a line of 1-Up-heads. A Fullbide will charge at you too, so be careful. Continue. You'll see another Fullbide and a Browntant. Destroy them and walk forward to the collection of Old Sages, Sporks, Hash-Haws, and other deadly items, and you'll reach the invisible goal! -0.1 Complete!

Stage -0.2 (Transcript)
{The same level start scene is shown with the words, "TRY LEVEL -0.2" at the bottom.}
<pre>START PLAY!</pre>

Level -0.2 (Guide)
* As soon as you enter, you'll face a Stobat. Defeat him.
* Jump onto the first oven in the first row. Walk forward - the next oven isn't solid, so you'll fall into that. Jump onto the next oven, then continue jumping up ovens diagonally to the right.
* When you reach the top, a Kolkaryu is waiting for you. Jump to the platform near him to avoid him. If you want to get the extra life, walk forward and then jump over the oven next to the one where the life is (a Fullbide will attack here). Go back to the platform. Walk forward and then jump over the next oven, to the one where the Chorch is waiting. Destroy the Chorch.
** The second oven after the platform isn't solid, and you'll fall below the wall of ovens. Don't panic - continue to the left, destroy the Frotzers, and jump back up.
* Walk to the oven next to the Lundsford. You'll fall to the bottom. Jump onto the next oven and continue on.
** You can also jump over the oven with the Lundsford on it to get a hidden capsule inside the oven on the right of the Lundsford.
* Run forward to the Retractable ladder, and take it to the top.
* Jump on the cloud platform, and then jump to the stone platform as soon as possible, or you'll smack into the drill.
* Jump past the other two platforms and back on land. Destroy the Browntant ahead and go up the ladder. Eliminate the Terrel and the My Benj there, and get the capsule (but watch out for the flying platform - it'll smash into you and take some health).
* Jump into the conveyor belt, then to the Disappearing Cloud, then to the Stone Platform. Now jump forward over the Pooru-Pooru's - you'll land on the air on one of them. Walk forward until you fall and hit the platforms below you. Destroy the Astromunds if they come too close (or just ignore them). Walk down the platforms and destroy the Astromunds. Then defeat the Frotzer nearby.
* You should see a line of Rose Blakes. Make sure the last two are extinguished, then jump over the first two and quickly move forward.
* Now you'll see a series of Switches from Level 4. Jump onto the first one to teleport. You'll land next to two more. Avoid/destroy the Uptant, then go on the teleporter on the left. Destroy the plant thing and go to the right teleport. Walk to your right and jump, trying to land on the right side teleport. There's only one in the next place, so take it, then take the next one too. The next set of teleports will be right on top of each other - walk into the set and jump, trying to hit the bottom one. Take the next teleport you see, then dodge the Stafulter and walk into the teleport on the ground. Jump off the Disappearing Cloud and get the capsule. Jump off the next platform, avoiding the column of My Benj.
** To get an extra life, instead of jumping off the platform, jump on the teleport above you, get the life, jump on the next teleport, climb up the duck ladder, and continue on.
* Take care of the Protek. Another set of Bendini Sisters is there, but they can't hurt you.
* Walk forward to see two Biztars with a Pink Cham Cham under them. Watch out for the flying Level 4 platform. Destroy the Biztars. Destroy the Fullbides and the Blue Browntant (and be careful of another flying platform).
* Jump on the flying platforms and go up to the clouds. You'll see some letters and three capsules below you on Old Sages. Walk forward, and you'll eventually fall through the floor to the three capsules. Try to get one of the capsules, because you'll trigger the Boss before you reach the Old Sages. -0.2 Complete!
-0.3 (Boss: Ekersby) (Guide)
Ekersby is a jumble of random sprites from the other levels, with Browntants, Uptants and Downtants for weapons. Now, watch the Lundsford on the right. When it lights up, it activates the fridge door, opening or closing it. When the fridge door is open, that's your cue to attack it. After attacking, the door will open from the other side, blocking your beam, so you'll have to get to the other side to shoot the fridge again. Go to the Green Switch to get sent to the top. Avoid the Uptants and the Sporks on his head by waiting for the Uptants to strike, walking to the Sporks, waiting for them, and running past. Go to the other side and wait for Ekersby to go to the other side. Climb down the ladder, avoiding the Downtants, and repeat. Don't try to kill the 'Tants, it doesn't work. Number of hits needed: 6.
Level -0.4 (Guide)
This weird level shows up after beating Ekersby. It has yet to be explored completely but so far all we see is Stinkoman with a black background. He starts in the normal spot but we haven't found any ground or platforms yet so he just falls to his death. There could be objects here but it just seems like a level designed to make you run out of mans. No tips yet.

Strongbadia (also spelled Strong Badia) is the field behind the dumpster that is ruled over by Strong Bad. He introduced his monarchy in "i rule". In "colonization", he tells the story of how it was founded (which took place around the time that the wireless web was invented) when Strong Bad started renting the land from Bubs.
As seen in email "other days", Strong Bad gives Strongbadia a firm scrubbing every Thursday.

Citizens of Strongbadia include Strong Bad, Strong Mad, The Cheat, the Tire, the Stop Sign, General Tso's Chicken, Strong Bad's Tandy 400, and the Cinderblock. However, the official population of Strongbadia, as recorded on the Stop Sign, is "Tire." In the email "2 years", it was revealed that two years after the email was released, September 2005, the population will have tripled to also include a Bundt Cake pan and Coach Z (taking a leak). The Cheat will also have painted a mural on the fence, reading "FIReWORKS or die," and there will be a world class hole.

The Stop Sign and the Cinderblock serve as an unfinished monument to Strongbadia's monarch.

Strongbadia also has its own local news.

As seen in the email "little questions", Strongbadia is, or at some point was, on very good economic and political terms with Sweden (perhaps even to the point of an alliance).

In the email "flag day", Strong Bad sings the Strongbadia National Anthem and the flag of Strongbadia is first shown. This anthem later appears on Strong Bad Sings and Other Type Hits.

In 2004, Homestar attempted to conquer Strongbadia via his Homestarmy, which at the time consisted of himself, Strong Sad, Homsar, The Painting of a guy with a big knife, and a popcorn maker named Frank Bennedetto. Though Strong Bad was outnumbered almost 2 to 1, Homestar agreed to cancel the invasion because Strong Bad and Strong Mad were playing Badminton. The only casualty was Bennedetto, who was seriously wounded and even considered dead for a while.
This constitutes your final warning.
Please remit payment of three(3)
But I do attend: {A flyer for Battle Axe Lessons appears onscreen, "NOT swim practice" is replaced by "BATTLE AXE LESSONS!" in the Saturday box.} BATTLE AXE LESSONS AT THE REC CENTER, with my teacher Dolph Hauldhagen, The Instruc-TOR! ===Trivia===
*On biz cas fri, Homestar Runner wears a shirt labelled 'Diskettes Etc.', while Strong Bad's has 'Micro Palace'.
*The Battle Axe flyer reads:
AXE AND AN EXERCISE MAT.

555-4AXE{x9}</pre>
*Brian Holmes and 'Holmes' (from huttah!) are both from California.
*Dolph Hauldhagen is just Matt with a viking helmet, nothing else.

Remarks
*The calendar starts on Monday, as per some European countries. North American calendars usually start on Sunday.
*Strong Bad's advice to "make Piemonade" is a reference to the saying "when life gives you lemons, make lemonade."
*While talking about online gaming, Homestar Runner says, "I got so many frags". It seems he's been playing numerous first-person shooters, in which a "frag" is a kill.
*It is interesting that Strong Bad helps people over the hump on Wednesdays, as some people refer to Wednesday as "Hump Day" since it is in the middle of the week.

Goofs
*When Homestar says "so many frags" and is looking to the left, his torso is flipped, and consequently the buttons on his collar appear on the wrong side and "Diskettes Etc." appears backwards for a split second.
*In the "my week" Easter Egg, Strong Sad enters the basement empty handed, yet he somehow produces Strong Bad's swimming trunks from behind the couch.

Inside References
*This is another instance of Strong Bad's couch mumbling.
*The Office where "biz cas fri" takes place is the same as in dullard and the Senor Mortgage short, and the conversation is very reminiscient of that from dullard.
*When Strong Bad mentions having to do community service, it is likely a reference to the Strong Bad Is In Jail Cartoon.
*You can check out the ol' "Cheatasaurus" in one of the popcorn easter eggs in Labor Dabor.

Real-World References
*When Strong Sad is waking up Strong Bad for swim practice, he mumbles various things, ranging from "I'll kill you" to the name of the classic SNES RPG, Chrono Trigger. The "I'll kill you" in the swim practice Easter egg might be directed at Magus, a villain/party member in the game. (Also see Inside References.)
** Also notable is that Magus's true name is Janus, the same as Strong Bad's Polish email author.
*The name of his other computer, "Block," is a reference to the Soviet Bloc&mdash;the group of Eastern European nations which were under communist government.
*The text on the battle axe lesson flyer which instructs you to bring your own axe and exercise mat is in the same font as Iron Maiden's name almost always appears. One of their first ever songs, "Invasion", released only on a four track album of which 5000 copies were made, was about Viking invaders.
*Strong Bad's imitation of a robot seems to be a reference to Harry in the documentary "Spellbound," a spelling bee contestant who spontaneously replies to a question from the interviewer in a robotic voice, and finishes off by saying "I-am-a-musical-robot. Do-I-sound-like-a-musical-robot?"
*"Stay smart, vacuum...dirt" may be based on "Be Smart! Don't Start!", a motto used in a series of '80s PSAs trying to discourage minors from drinking alcohol.
*The phone number for Brian Holmes, Certified Arborist (555-XYLM), is a reference to xylem, the major water transporting tissue of a tree.

Fast Forward
*"Biz Cas Fri" would be the subject of three Puppet Stuff features, Biz Cas Fri, Biz Cas Fri 2, and Biz Cas Fri 3.
