My Dog

Aaron Master of Life: ^-^ in what I DELETED Homestar said it was an actual dog. Like a pet.

Characters (usually Homestar Runner) frequently refer to other people as their dog, which is slang for "friend".

Appearances
*Pumpkin Carve-nival &mdash; Strong Bad dressed as Homestar says to Pom Pom, "My dog".
*Biz Cas Fri 1 &mdash; Puppet Homestar says to Puppet Strong Bad, "What is up, my dog".
*A Folky Tale (Easter egg) &mdash; Bubs says to Homestar, "You is my dog too".
*Email alternate universe &mdash; Vector Strong Bad refers to Stinkoman as my doge, which is a poorly translated version of "dog" previously used in Biz Cas Fri 1.
Talk:Single Episode Running Gags

Aaron Master of Life: /**/why?

deletedtalk
C'mon, is this really necessary? --Trogga 18:40, 22 July 2007 (UTC)
:This defies the definition of a running gag. A running gag re-appears throughout the work, not just in a single episode. Delete 21:12, 22 July 2007 (UTC)
WHHHAAATT?!!! This does NOT "defy" anything. This is a wonderful idea. There have been many running gags in one toon! I honestly think this is being too picky. If you can tell me on my talk page THREE GOOD reasons why this should go than you can sway my decision. For now it is KEEP.
:No one but you mentioned defiling. It defies &mdash;contradicts&mdash;the definition of a running gag. 01:51, 23 July 2007 (UTC)
::The thought of a running gag only spanning 1 episode despite that specific "3 toons to count" rule makes my brain split. Delete. Bad Bad Guy 03:39, 23 July 2007 (UTC)
:::I did say defy. And, I have decided on something. What if I copied everything off of this page to a page such as just Single Toon Gags because it seems to be the title that bugs you guys.
::::First of all, you did originally say "defile". Secondly, I don't think changing the title is gonna change anyone's mind. 22:35, 23 July 2007 (UTC)
:::::I think what santanahomerunner is saying is right, the page makes sense, but i don't think it should be classified as a running gag.-- 22:42, 23 July 2007 (UTC)
::::::I have an idea! I think we should do something totally different, we should put a new categorie in the toon that has the gag and call it Gags. It could be placed right above fast forward and it would make everybody happy! We would just put what ever gag that the toon has under there, and we could put whatever running gag it has there. I hope this works, because i'm out of ideas. -- 22:54, 23 July 2007 (UTC)
:::::::When someone gives me the okay, i'm going to start work on it.-- 23:16, 23 July 2007 (UTC)
::::::::It's a wiki, you can edit any article always. If you can make it work, then by all means, do. -- 01:03, 24 July 2007 (UTC)

::::::::Here's my issue with the idea. Every toon is full of gags. Not all gags are notable outside the toon's transcript, however. Some gags are just jokes within a toon. Others are standard types of gags similar (but not so similar as to be a reference to another work) to what we see in other comedic work. What we generally find notable here (as in deserving an article or list) are gags which are unique to H*R and which recur in 3 or more toons (a "running gag"). "Clown care" has no occurances in H*R outside of long pants. Therefore, noting it outside that toon's article is unnecessary. (In fact, noting it in that article isn't needed as it's clear from the transcript.)
::::::::It's only when a gag takes a larger life than its role in a toon or two that it deserves any special noting. If it's just a gag in a toon, it's just a gag within one toon. When the first DNA evidence mention happened earlier this year, it was not notable. If the numerous uses of it and the toon which followed all that had never happened, it would remain unnotable. It is simply because it recurred numerous times that it became noteworthy at all, let alone outside the toon's article. 02:07, 24 July 2007 (UTC)
::::::::::Thank you, Qermaq. Delete. -- 02:43, 24 July 2007 (UTC)
:::::::::In some kinds of works, it's possible to have a running gag established within the the course of one toon, movie, episode or whatever. But this really requires a much longer work than those released by TBC as part of the H*R oeuvre. In a full-length movie, you can have running gags established during the film and they may be notable. Not so much in a short toon (and even the "Big Toons" are really quite short, remember) like those this wiki is about. Therefore, Qermaq is right. 02:47, 24 July 2007 (UTC)
::::::::::Even in the case of a full-length motion picture, I'd submit that the examples of notable gags are notable not on the basis of the film itself, but on the quoting and reference thereafter. It requires multiple references to a gag to make something really notable. When Harry Met Sally presents Olympia Dukakis's classic line, but it wasn't till other media referenced it that it was truly notable outside reference to that specific film. Today, "I'll have what she's having" may be a commonly recognized gag, but it wouldn't be so if not for the media using that line in parody. 03:20, 24 July 2007 (UTC)

:A discussion concerning the addition of a Gags section to articles was begun here and has been moved to HRWiki talk:Standards#Gags section.

Above discussion aside, as far as I can tell, we've reached a consensus to delete this page. Any objections?
:I think Santanahomerunner will still whine about it, but I'm fine with it.-- 18:42, 25 July 2007 (UTC)

Does that one scene from Cheat Commandos where the commandos walk by twice count?--Dwedit 02:39, 22 November 2005 (UTC)
:No. That's just (intentional) bad animation. -
::How about the KOT seemingly booing himself from off-screen in geddup noise? I'd say that's an instance, although debatably so. --Shadow Hog 03:51, 22 November 2005 (UTC)
:::Heh, and I would debate that. :) &mdash; It's dot com 03:57, 22 November 2005 (UTC)
::::Same here, especially since (I think) it went to STUFF and died. (I think.) -
:::::Kinda sorta. I'd chalk that one up to it claiming to be a reference to impression (which is doubtful).
:::::But still, I don't see any reason why it couldn't be the case (it's not like uncanny things like that haven't happened before in HSR); just a debate as to whether it is the case. And unless TBC actually up and answer this for us (strongbad_email.exe DVD 5?), I don't think there'll ever be a widely-supported belief that it is the case. I for one think it is the case, considering I definitely heard "boo", but that's just one opinion in a whole lot of others. --Shadow Hog 01:28, 1 December 2005 (UTC)
Homestarmecium
I don't think the Homestarmecium from highschool fits the pattern of the phenomenon this page is describing. The cell was just dividing as a joke (and, after all, that's what cells do). &mdash; It's dot com 00:26, 10 January 2006 (UTC)

Yes, but paramecium are meant to divide, it's part of the joke.
I don't think it's part of this running gag.--DumDe 20:52, 25 January 2006 (UTC)
Main Page 13
Quick question: On Main Page 13, it's possible to get Strong Bad to appear twice - mouse over "Email" first to start the "Freakin' duck" animation, and then mouse over "Characters". Atari Strong Bad will be seen both standing and waving his arms, AND running away from the Atari Dragon at the same time. Does this count as an instance of Twin Characters? 19:04, 10 January 2006 (UTC)
:I don't think so, since the viewer is in control of the phenomenon in this case... I dunno what that has to do with it, but it sounds good to me. --DorianGray
::I think that is a valid point, but also this: there are two different monkeys throwing coconuts in Main Page 3. Does that count?--Jnelson09 02:42, 14 January 2006 (UTC)
:::Same issue, methinks. They appear to be the same monkey, but you can control when they both appear, so using Dorian's argument above, it wouldn't count. 19:03, 15 January 2006 (UTC)

HA HA HA!
I think this is the most hilarious running gag on all of Homestar Runner! --Ian911299

This article has too many words on it
I think this article is supposed to document unexplained "real-life" (as far as the characters are concerned) instances, not times where, for style reasons, the same character is seen twice at the same time. With that in mind, there are a lot of things listed on this page that I don't think should count:
*Pumpkin Carve-nival &mdash; It wasn't really Homestar; Strong Bad just had a really good costume.
*Malloween Commercial &mdash; Special effects for the commercial.
*Halloween Potion-ma-jig &mdash; Not really Marzipan, just Homestar (almost) turned into her.
*Seasonal Sweaters &mdash; Nothing that is Powered by The Cheat should be in this list.
*rock opera &mdash; A style choice for the music video.
It's dot com 22:37, 10 November 2006 (UTC)
:Agree. Non-real-life instances do not add to the running gag; they just pollute it. &mdash;BazookaJoe 02:04, 11 November 2006 (UTC)
:Yes. We also shouldn't count Decemberween Teen Girl Squad if we don't count PbTC toons. 03:33, 11 November 2006 (UTC)
:Fully agreed. 08:16, 11 November 2006 (UTC)

Secret Song
Do the two Puppet Homestars that sing to each other in Secret Song (video) count as twin characters? 14:26, 11 January 2007 (UTC)
:I'd say so. 14:41, 11 January 2007 (UTC)
::Hmm...I see that this was removed due to the clause in the leading paragraph, "This listing excludes purely stylistic uses of multiple characters through artistic license, as seen in music videos and the like." Yeah, I guess that's right. At first, I was thinking that the two Homestars were interacting with each other, but upon a second viewing it looks like they're both singing to "Secret Song" through the camera. 01:30, 12 January 2007 (UTC)
:::Even they were not both singing, it would still be an example of artistic imagery in a music video, which in real life never intends to portray that there are multiple instances of one individual. 01:38, 12 January 2007 (UTC)

DOUBLED!
I know that this isn't related to any recent changes in Homestarrunner.com, but is the two Arrowed Guys from the Decemberween Teen Girl Squad an example of twin characters? 16:13, 5 April 2007 (UTC)
:I added the Arrowed guy to the list. I decided that it's a good enough example. 20:53, 5 April 2007 (UTC)
::The best way I thought of to keep that, web comics ("It's just a comic that Strong Bad made"), and highschool on the list is to create 1 section for Free Country and 1 section for the other universes. Bad Bad Guy 23:38, 9 October 2007 (UTC)
:::I see an earlier topic denies the highschool scene as a reference (I don't count it either because the twin doesn't just appear out of nowhere like usual) but I think minigolf would be included in a section about subuniverses (each worm clearly has a mouth, implying that there are 2 normal-sized ones as opposed to 1 really long 1). So, does anyone object to a new section? Bad Bad Guy 21:33, 11 October 2007 (UTC)

Mini-Golf Worm?
Is this really a case of doubled characters? I thought this was meant to be more of an Ouroborus effect - with the one worm eating it's own tail (and going round and around and around with itself). Of course, in the screwed up world of Sweet Cuppin Cakes, it's never made certain the the worm has only 1 head... StarLion 21:56, 7 December 2007 (UTC)
:I always thought of it as one worm also, but i kept getting reverted when i modified the transcript. 23:17, 8 December 2007 (UTC)
::The fact one end has a mouth to exclaim "get your own" and the other end has a mouth to bite with suggests they are 2 separate worms with separate mouths. Maybe some weird Cuppin Cakes physics merged them after 1 bit the other? Bad Bad Guy 23:54, 8 December 2007 (UTC)
:::Maybe the worm just has two heads/mouths. It definitely forms an Ouroborus. DAGRON 01:41, 9 December 2007 (UTC)
::::I think it is supposed to be a twin of the same worm, eating itself, since the second one emerges from the golf ball (unless there's a portal inside that connects underneath the hole... who knows with that crazy cartoon, though. 05:28, 9 December 2007 (UTC)
:::::But that doesnt work for the Ouroborus effect - Worm #1 speaks. Worm #2 appears and eats Worm #1's HEAD. Worm #1 cannot now eat Worm #2's tail. The chain fails, because the two are not joined at the other end. The Ouroborus worm eats its own tail-head, and then goes around and around and around.... forever linked. Then again, we're debating physics in the screwed up cartoon world inside another, physically-questionable cartoon world... StarLion 05:39, 9 December 2007 (UTC)
::::::Star lion, very true. Trey, "unless there's a portal inside that connects underneath the hole..." Umm, there IS one, how else would they keep going around forever? :::::::The main reason I put it in that section was so "Twin Characters in Sub-Universes" could meet that "3 instances" standard (which it now exceeds thanks to our friendly neighborhood Cheat Commandos). == Fun Facts ==
Trivia
*This commercial serves to introduce all of the Cheat Commandos with the exception of Firebert. He was previously introduced in the Strong Bad email army.
*All of the Cheat Commandos action figures are designed for "Ages 3&ndash;5" and cost $11.01.
*Four quotes from the toon have been used as a Quote of the Week at some point, more than any other toon to date.

Remarks
*This cartoon is loaded with exceptions to the once-solid rule of only mentioning "Cheat" with "The" in front of it. The fact that all the Cheat Commando characters except Firebert can speak normally implies that the writers paid no regard to the source material, as is the case with many cartoons based on toys, comics or video games.
*At the end, Flashfight doesn't have his arm lifted in salute, possibly because he is the commander.
*Although Blue Laser action figures appear in this cartoon, they don't appear packaged in the Easter egg at the end.
*The Blue Laser Minion has angry eyes underneath his visor.
*Gunhaver calls the "Action Figure Storage Truck" by the wrong name. He says "vehicle" instead of "truck".
*When the Cheat Commandos are marching in the TV show, some of them walk by twice.

Goofs
*The page title is "Compy 386!!!", yet this is not an email. This is likely because The Brothers Chaps used the source html code from an email and forgot to change the title.

Inside References
*When the commandos are at "R&R", they are next to "Xtra cold ones", a variation on a Cold One.
*The Cheat Commando action figure packages are the same design as in the emails action figure and army.
**Firebert's box looks exactly the same as in the Easter egg in army.
**On Crackotage's package, it says "Museum Quality". The peanut Strong Bad action figure in the email action figure has the same description.
**The caption "Yellow Dog!!" on Firebert's action figure package is a reference to what Homestar calls The Cheat in army.
*The helicopter sound in the beginning is just like the The Cheat Skycam Traffic helicopter sounds from the Strong Bad email local news.
*The words "Cool Glasses" on Gunhaver's package is a reference to The theme from DANGERESQUE II: This time, it's not Dangeresque I on Strong Bad Sings and Other Type Hits
*Ripberger is the name of the magistrate in Thy Dungeonman II.
**Ripberger is also the name of the character voiced by Mark Hamill in the Lucas Arts game "Full Throttle" (although his name is spelled "Ripburger").
*This is another appearance of the word "total".

Real-World References
*Foxface, the only female commando, is obviously modeled after the GI Joe character, Scarlett, whose mantra is "I'm not just one of the 'guys'; I'm better", according to the GI Joe website. According to Foxface's packaging, she is "Not One of The Guys!!"
*Blue Laser's plan to blow up the ocean might be a reference to an actual GI Joe episode. In "There's No Place Like Springfield," Cobra had invented a chemical compound which could convert any body of water—even oceans—into a powerful explosive.
* The fact that the base of all Cheat Commandos are the same (in terms of size, appearance, expression, etc), with only costumes setting them apart, alludes to countless toys in the '80s that were extremely similar to facilitate mass-production.

Fast Forward
*In the Strong Bad email virus, the shot of Fightgar firing his machine gun in all directions is replayed in an Easter egg where the machine gun is replaced with Homestar's leg.

The Cheat Commandos (and their package captions)
*Gunhaver
**Stylin' Coat
**Cool Glasses!
**Has a Gun!
**Probably from Texas!
*Firebert
**Yellow Dog!!
**Black Hat!
**Not A Good Commando Name!!
**That One Little Guy!!
*Silent Rip
**But Deadly!!
**Two(2) Pockets!
**Communicates Via That Microphone Attached to His Helmet!
**Same Size As The Rest!!
*Crackotage
**Action!!
**Museum Quality!
**Master Locksmith, Perhaps!
**Listens To Jazz!!
**Not the Most Popular!!
**Red Cloth!
**Probably Has A Raspy Voice!!
**Needs To Shave!!
*Reynold
**Civilian Contractor!!
**Fake Tie!
**Favorite Drink: Milk!!
**Not A Blackbelt!!
**Sweet Camos!
**Justice Rocket Backpack!!
Commentary Transcript
(Commentary by: Mike Chapman, Homestar Runner)

HOMESTAR RUNNER: I wanna do this commentary with you.

MIKE: Oh, Homestar Runner.

HOMESTAR RUNNER: Yeah.

MIKE: Nice to see you.

HOMESTAR RUNNER: I'm in this type of a&mdash; of a cartoon.

MIKE: There you are right there.

HOMESTAR RUNNER: Yeah, that's my side part.

MIKE: Your&mdash;

HOMESTAR RUNNER: My side part and my knee part.

MIKE: Your side part and your knee part?

HOMESTAR RUNNER: Yeah.

MIKE: The side part's connected to the knee part?

HOMESTAR RUNNER: That's exactly how the song goes. I was being Silent Rip. He snuck up&mdash;

MIKE: You know what Silent Rip means?

HOMESTAR RUNNER: What does? I don't know. It means he rips&mdash; he rips through the silence.

MIKE: That's right. How does he do that?

HOMESTAR RUNNER: I don't know, with his microphone.

MIKE: Oh, okay. You're&mdash; you're probably right.

HOMESTAR RUNNER: Who's that Barbie doll? That's a pretty hot Barbie doll.

MIKE: Yeah?

HOMESTAR RUNNER: Why don't you tell them the story of all the names, Mike?

MIKE: Well, orginally, they were for the&mdash; uh, when Firebert's first appearance in the army email.

HOMESTAR RUNNER: Right, The Cheat.

MIKE: The Cheat. Yeah, uh, we had just written down a bunch of commando names. Firebert was the one we, uh, decided on, but we had this list of all these other names: Gunhaver, Silent Rip, Crackotage.

HOMESTAR RUNNER: Ooooooh.

MIKE: And then my friend Matt thought that we should, you know, make a line of these toys using all these different names.

HOMESTAR RUNNER: That's a great idea.

MIKE: Yeah, Matt has a few of 'em. {pause until announcer says "on the inside of your TV"}

HOMESTAR RUNNER: On the inside of your TV, Mike. How do you watch those shows?

MIKE: Have you ever watched anything on the outside of your TV?

HOMESTAR RUNNER: Yeah, every&mdash; uh, I think every show&mdash;

MIKE: Oh, okay.

HOMESTAR RUNNER: ends up being on the outside right?

MIKE: You should try the inside.

HOMESTAR RUNNER: Yeah?

MIKE: You would fit.

HOMESTAR RUNNER: Is it moist in there?

MIKE: {laughs} I hope not.

HOMESTAR RUNNER: Tender? The cartoons are more tender.

MIKE: Hey, there's that red ninja that's never been in anything else.

HOMESTAR RUNNER: That's Ripberger.

MIKE: He's Ripberger, yeah.

HOMESTAR RUNNER: Burger.

MIKE: Burger. {laughs} Ripberger.

HOMESTAR RUNNER: Ripburger. Burger wheat.

MIKE: The Ripbergers lived behind us in Indiana when we were growing up.

HOMESTAR RUNNER: You had some burger wheat for&mdash; for lunch today, didn't you?

MIKE: I think that was bulger wheat.

HOMESTAR RUNNER: Burger&mdash; burger wheat.

MIKE: All right, that's enough about that.

HOMESTAR RUNNER: I like this "weekdays" guy. He's like a local guy, not from the real toy company. {Mike laughs} You're fired! {Mike laughs again}
Weeklies
HRWiki:Featured article for 2007, week 51 (Dec 17-23)
How about retirement? It's the longest sbemail, and I really like that email. 20:49, 10 October 2007 (UTC)
:Nah. I'd like to see something Christmasy, or Decemberweenish. Either what I want or The Decemberween Tree would be fine. 21:11, 10 October 2007 (UTC)
::The Decemberween Tree's prose intro is a bit short for a featured article. what I want would probably work, though. 00:03, 11 October 2007 (UTC)
:::Yeah, I like the idea of doing what I want too. 20:31, 12 October 2007 (UTC)
::::There aren't that many pre-Decemberween shorts of any substance (though Decemberween In July might make a good alternate....). I have no problem with what I want for this week. 01:00, 11 November 2007 (UTC)

HRWiki:Featured article for 2007, week 52 (Dec 24-30)
A Decemberween toon. How about A Decemberween Pageant? 21:11, 10 October 2007 (UTC)
:Just to list all the major D'ween toons: A Holiday Greeting (more or less Decemberween), The Best Decemberween Ever, A Decemberween Pageant and Decemberween Short Shorts (I've excluded Homestar Presents: Presents because we featured that last year). 05:41, 11 October 2007 (UTC)
::Naw. Like I said before, we should do less daily articles. I think The Best Decemberween Ever would be a good enough article, as it introduces the word Decemberween. 10:00, 11 October 2007 (UTC)
:::I agree, if we keep on having daily articles for holidays, we are going to run out rather quickly, then...bad stuff happens. I think The Best Decemberween Ever is a good article to be featured on this day...week.-- 11:05, 11 October 2007 (UTC)
::::Actually, I just realized that you weren't saying that we should do a week of different toons. I should read these posts more carefully. But still, I think we should feature The Best Decemberween Ever. 11:25, 11 October 2007 (UTC)
:::::I'll just support having The Best D'ween Ever as the featured for this week... 14:48, 11 October 2007 (UTC)
::::::Yes, just to clarify: I wasn't suggesting dailies, just setting our what our options are. 17:11, 11 October 2007 (UTC)
:::::::Oh, and Best D'ween ever sounds fine to me. 17:12, 11 October 2007 (UTC)
::::::::Sounds good! 20:32, 12 October 2007 (UTC)
:::::::::Yes, one of the best Decemberween cartoons... ever... I agree! 07:22, 11 November 2007 (UTC)

HRWiki:Featured article for 2008, week 1 (Dec 31-Jan 6)
Note: Whatever MediaWiki decides to call December 31 (week 53?), it will be redirected here. &mdash;BazookaJoe 19:15, 18 November 2007 (UTC)

To start of the year, how about a Peasant's Quest thing. Like Rather Dashing, Peasantry, The Three Keepers of Trogdor or The Trog-Cave? 19:23, 18 November 2007 (UTC)
:How about one of the secondary characters? Both Nebulon and The Stick would be worthy for a featured article. 19:47, 18 November 2007 (UTC)
::I hate you, The Stick. I mean, yeah, let's do The Stick. 22:12, 18 November 2007 (UTC)
:::The Stick's prose intro is rather short for a weeklong FA, though. Does anyone think they could expand it? 22:13, 18 November 2007 (UTC)
::::Nebulon is a more thorough article, at any rate. I think it would make a better FA. 16:54, 30 November 2007 (UTC)

HRWiki:Featured article for 2008, week 2 (Jan 7-13)
A Short Perhaps? Good shorts: One Two, One Two, Drive-Thru, Looking at a Thing In A Bag? 19:23, 18 November 2007 (UTC)
: I'll throw in Strongest Man In The World as another good short for this week. Though Looking at a Thing In A Bag would be an excellent idea. 19:48, 18 November 2007 (UTC)
I'm going with the thing in a bag. 13:45, 20 November 2007 (UTC)
:How about dragon because January 13 was when dragon was first released. Though hardly a man is still alive that remembers that fateful day and year. 20:40, 29 November 2007 (UTC)
::I'd go with Looking at a Thing In A Bag or dragon. --Trogga 03:21, 10 December 2007 (UTC)
:::Let's give Troggie a happy 5th Trogday feature: dragon. 03:45, 10 December 2007 (UTC)
::::Shouldnt we do happy trogday since it is trogday, and to dragon next week? 16:00, 15 December 2007 (UTC)
:::::One Trogdor birthday feature should be enough for one year, and dragon, as the email that started it all, seems like the better choice. 08:04, 20 December 2007 (UTC)

HRWiki:Featured article for 2008, week 3 (Jan 14-20)
I'm thinking we should do a good article nobody knows about. 'd, maybe? 02:31, 20 November 2007 (UTC)
:I think 'd is a well-known article actually... 02:32, 20 November 2007 (UTC)
::We haven't done something real world in a while. TMBG Concert - 25 Sep 2004? --Trogga 02:04, 6 December 2007 (UTC)
::: Wait, the late night jengajam interview! great interview! 02:32, 7 December 2007 (UTC)
::::Um, I suppose I could have it finished by then.... 03:07, 7 December 2007 (UTC)
:::::I think the TBMG concert would probably be fine, and we could let Wbwolf take his time shanking our jengaship and feature it later. 05:08, 7 December 2007 (UTC)

HRWiki:Featured article for 2008, week 4 (Jan 21-27)
How about a daily featured article week with Compy 386 emails. Just some classics: comic, japanese cartoon, dragon, crazy cartoon, personal favorites, monument, video games, your friends, invisibility, time capsule, monster truck. 20:35, 29 November 2007 (UTC)
:I think most Compy emails are big enough to be featured for a whole week. Plus, I don't really like having daily articles. 12:13, 30 November 2007 (UTC)
::I think this is a good idea to do at some point (I don't think more than a few compy emails are worth a whole week), but I think it's still too soon after our most recent set of dailies. 16:51, 30 November 2007 (UTC)
:::We featured Cheerleader last year and have never gotten around to featuring any other TGS characters. How about So and So? 16:56, 30 November 2007 (UTC)
::::So and So would make a great FA. 06:12, 7 December 2007 (UTC)
:::::Agreed. 18:43, 7 December 2007 (UTC)

HRWiki:Featured article for 2008, week 5 (Jan 28-Feb 3)
Another grammar thing! I'd personally like to see Nondescript Nouns, but it's prose is too short. Perhaps we could expand it? 18:43, 7 December 2007 (UTC)
:I've always thought Nondescript Nouns's scope was a bit ambiguous, and I don't really think it's our finest work. Perhaps another running gag, such as Crapfully Yours? 03:55, 10 December 2007 (UTC)

HRWiki:Featured article for 2008, week 6 (Feb 4-10)
It's time Minor Characters got their time to shine. Any minor characters you can think of? 18:43, 7 December 2007 (UTC)
:How minor is Rumble Red? --Trogga 03:19, 10 December 2007 (UTC)
::I don't think we need to feature a minor character. We're talking about featuring one in early January, along with a TGS character a bit later in the month. I'm thinking we might try featuring an item, since we do that somewhat rarely. Perhaps the No Loafing Sign? 03:43, 10 December 2007 (UTC)
:::We haven't featured the No Loafing Sign yet? Yeah, let's do that. 16:34, 15 December 2007 (UTC)

Who Said What. 60.230.37.94 06:49, 18 December 2007 (UTC)
:We really shouldn't be featuring that. 21:31, 19 December 2007 (UTC)
::At some point, we ought to feature something from the Lappynapping saga. Ideally, I'd love to feature the entire saga for a week, but we don't exactly have a summary article for the whole thing, and I'm not sure we should. One possibility could be just featuring cliffhangers one week and retirement the next (pros, it allows us to cover the saga; cons, it takes up two weeks). 21:42, 19 December 2007 (UTC)
:::I like the idea, but I also agree with the problems. The closest we have to a summary article is on the Lappy's page. --DorianGray 21:51, 19 December 2007 (UTC)

Hey JoeyDay this is Master Chief. I need to tell you some stuff. It's Dot Com blamed me and Tampo for vandal sockpuppets when we didn't do anything. Oh yeah could you de-admin Dot Com and then ban him? He is really annoying me and Tampo.--Master Chief 22:58, 10 April 2006 (UTC)

:Listen closely, Master Chief: you are playing with fire. The evidence I have against you is circumstancial, but I think I could make it stand up in a court. On the other hand, I have Tampo dead to rights. Incidentally, I have been keeping JoeyDay fully apprised of the situation, so you can post here if you want, but it really isn't necessary. &mdash; It's dot com 23:05, 10 April 2006 (UTC)

::Master Chief, cut the bullcrap. We know you and Tampo are doing the sock puppetry and the vandalism, and we have server logs to prove it. Everything you do is logged by your IP address on our server. We have logs that show you both signing out of your own accounts and creating new accounts to vandalize the wiki. Lying about it isn't helping the situation at all. Crying to me isn't going to help the situation either. You need to 'fess up to all this and quit doing it or we'll ban you indefinitely. It's that simple. &mdash; 20:19, 11 April 2006 (UTC)

:Made 'em myself. My new Treo 650 can import any MIDI or WAV file as a ringtone. I used a couple free programs by a company called NCH Swift Sound: one called Switch to convert the MP3 files into WAV files, and another called WavePad to splice and crop the files. I just cropped them down to 30 seconds or so and saved them as mono, 32 KHz, 16-bit files to accomodate my limited storage space on the device. Although, at 16-bit they still take up a whopping MB and a half each (out of a total 23 MB on the device). 8-bit makes them half that, but then they sound horrible. You can't have your cake and eat it too. Anyway, they sound great, and I'll never again mistake someone else's ring for mine. &mdash; 22:22, 24 May 2006 (UTC)
Hi Joey,

You're doing incredible work and I love your content. I'm the new CEO of Wikia.com and I'm trying to build the best place on the internet for all passionate wiki users. I had a few thoughts for you.
* I'm not a user but if it's okay I can make a small personal donation to the site
* We offer wiki hosting and are currently on mediawiki 1.7, so we'd love to host your site if you were interested
* We are normally ad supported, but in your case we might make some sort of exception, either by leaving ads off for the first year or so, or some other idea if that made a difference
* We also have a ton of tools for preventing spam and vandalism - I see you've had to add graphical logos to each edit page, which is a bummer
* I hope I'm not offending you with the offer, so if nothing else, leave me a message at Wikia on my userpage Gil and I will make a small donation to your site, so you can keep doing great work.
:This would be a question for the FAQ, so I'll take the liberty of answering it. I'm very glad you find yourself so confident in your coding know-how, and we would be honored to have you on the validation committee. I accidentaly made some modifications, very un inteligent as you will see, in sbemail#143, and they are mutliple times added. Also during this modification I added a pic, Explain_Jmoney_001.JPG. Sorry again. Please tell me if I will need to re add the chalk board comment & pic (that one was correct.) I will go clean it up a little for now, but revert it all plz. :Hey Jmoney. Anyone can revert an edit, simply by pressing the tab that says history, clicking on the edited version before the one that you want to revert, clicking edit, and saving it. This will save the old page revision as a new one. There's a lot of awesome stuff that can be done with the history button, and they are all detailed here Also, I reverted it simply because it was bad staging, and not a glitch at all. :Thanks, Trey56. I've got a private wishlist on Amazon that's over 10 pages long (at 25 items per page). Much of the books are in a similar vein. You can also get a good idea of what I've read by checking out my LibraryThing catalog. Have you tried LibraryThing? It sounds like we would share many of the same books. You should start cataloging yours so I can see what you've read. &mdash; 21:13, 20 December 2006 (UTC)

Hey, I'm a rather inexperienced wiki user, and I was just wondering how you work your interwiki and shortcut linking to have little icons next to all the links. I'm about to help create a wiki that could use a feature like that. Please respond by [mailto:mattsparkzz@gmail.com E-mail]. --Mattgcn
:Have a look at MediaWiki:Common.css &ndash; in particular, around halfway down, all the blocks that start with something like <code>#bodyContent a[href ^="http&#58;//www.homestarrunner.com"]</code>. That particular selector doesn't work in Internet Explorer, unfortunately (well, in IE6 at least, I haven't used IE7), but it does work in Firefox, and I'm pretty sure it works in Opera. Hey, I know you may not be the one to ask on this, but I recently got a new computer and while visiting the forum, I discovered that my IP had been banned. I know it's my IP, because I wasn't even able to log in. I don't see how that's possible, because this is like only the second day I've had it, and I didn't do anything on the forum on those two days. On a side note, I tried to log in on my Wiki account (Pop_tire), and it said there was no such account. I'm not sure what's going on, and would love (if anything), just some light on what's going on. If I did do anything, I'm sorry. ----

Hey there, Joey. A few minutes ago I tried creating an article about the creator of my favorite wiki on Wikipedia, but now I copied some stuff from your user page and put it on there. Someone (actually a bot) said that they cannot keep this for legal reasons. Is this true? See ya,<br>
22:51, 2 October 2007 (UTC)
:I'm sorry, Homestar Winner, but I've deleted this article. Wikipedia's criteria for speedy deletion require that articles have an assertion of notability, and being the founder of a website isn't really an assertion of notability (unless the website is something like Amazon, Google or Wikipedia itself). 23:09, 2 October 2007 (UTC)
::Oh, well. I still think you deserve your own article, but I gotta listen to them sysops (not you, the Wikipedia ones). Bye now, see? 23:16, 2 October 2007 (UTC)
::Well, it looks like you're too late now. Now all you can do is think about the wonderful joy a toy The Cheat that you can kick around would be, and that you would have loved to have one. You watch all of the little boys and girls playing with their Kick The Cheats and bringing great smiles to their faces, thinking that a Kick The Cheat would make you extremely happy, too. And you would love more than anything else to have one. But you don't have one. Oh well. 02:07, 19 December 2007 (UTC)
