My younger sister (Carolyn) discovered he [[Homestar Runner (body of work)|Homestar Runner]] website in 2003, and she was the first one in my family to find it. Then, I liked that site so much that I wanted to go on it, too. I even know all the main characters: [[Homestar Runner]], [[Strong Bad]], [[The Cheat]], [[Marzipan]], [[Strong Sad]], [[The King of Town]], [[Strong Mad]], [[The Poopsmith]], [[Pom Pom]], [[Coach Z]], [[Bubs]], and the surreal [[Homsar]]. I know many other characters, too.

Speaking of [[Senor Cardgage]], I had no idea who he was when the e-mail "[[kind of cool]]" debuted. Then, when I saw the later short "[[Senor Mortgage]]", I realized that he was the guy Strong Bad described in "kind of cool". Strong Sad clearly says, "Uh, excardon me, but none of that stuff is cool, Strong Bad. You basically described that creep Señor Cardgage that lived down the street from us when we were little." I didn't quite get that, though. I finally did get it after watching the short. No one really listens to Strong Sad anyway, and previously, Strong Bad referred to that character as "Creepy Comb-Over Story Strong Bad".

Anyway, my favorite character is Strong Bad. Senor Cardgage is cool, too (creepy, but cool). My favorite email is "[[death metal]]".

*Hi, Jay. I wanted to make a comment about the NES endings easter egg, particularly the Metroid ending, and it didn't seem appropriate to bring it up in the cartoon discussion (plus it wouldn't make sense to anyone besides us). Since you don't have a listed e-mail, I'll bring it up here. The screen that it shows, "You Fulfiled Your Mission", et. al., either features a Samus Aran in her normal suit or, if you enter a certain code (the famed JUSTIN BAILEY ------ ------ code, for example), a suitless Samus, as it shows in this instance. VGMuseum shows both variants as an animated gif. Both variants do not show in the same ending, you either get the normal variant or the suitless variant if you put in a suitable code. It is the following screen which is then based upon time, and that screen does not feature any sort of text. When the game is completed under 3 hours, that screen also shows Samus in a red suit...whereas if Samus is suitless, she will always be seen in a green suit on the first screen. Anyway, I just felt like mentioning it. By the time you read this, I will probably have edited the page again and I wanted to explain the reasoning behind it instead of it potentially resulting in a siutation where we are constantly changing each others' edits. "Gip" is obviously not considered a canonical spelling of this particular term by the American Heritage Dictionary, but variant instead. Even in the old animations, whenever SB makes an o sound, including the ou sound, his mouth turns round. It did when he said round, which has the same vowel sound as mouth. Regarding [http://www.hrwiki.org/index.php?title=Fonts_By_Toon&curid=40442&diff=556480&oldid=556446 this], I did put some thought into where to list that, and was left in doubt with my decision. The reason I listed it under "Not on the Site" was because the Flash file itself isn't hosted at homestarrunner.com. Anyway, I'm certainly willing to accept that, for the moment, the Advertisement ''is'' "on the site", but I'm not sold on the idea that it's a Short. TBC themselves haven't categorized it, as far as I can tell. But, anyway, for what it's worth I have no problem leaving it listed where it is for now. He is apparently the creepy guy that lived down the street from [[The Brothers Strong]] when they were little, whose extreme sketchiness gave [[Strong Sad]] nightmares. He resembles [[Strong Bad]] somewhat, both sharing a red with black markings [[Wikipedia:Lucha libre|lucha libre]] mask for a head, green eyes, pinkish torso, boxing gloves for hands and black pants. However, he's much taller than Strong Bad. He has a round head, wears glasses, a [[mustache|beard]], and has a lock of brownish hair on the top of his head. Senor Cardgage also has a flabby belly and much longer arms. His feet are simply black, suggesting they are covered by his [[pants]].

Senor Cardgage now runs [[Senor Cardgage Mortgage|his own mortgage business]] as well as a [[Senorial Day|used car dealership]], in addition to having a job as an [[the movies|usher]]. He has also tried to market a lawn mower as an "[[concert#Easter Eggs|Intregway]]" and apparently has his own brand of shoes called "Air Cardgage", which appeared in [[diorama]]. His name is pronounced "[[Senor|Seh-nor]]", not "Seh-nyor", because his name is spelled with an "N" rather than an "[[Wikipedia:Ñ|Ñ]]". He is apparently [[Left Handedness#Ambidextrous Characters|ambidextrous]].

Some of his traits include:
* Suspiciously coming out of bushes and shrubs just as you walk by.
* Pronouncing words incorrectly (for example, he pronounces the word "loans", "lawns").
* Always carrying an old plastic [[Aldi Bag|Aldi grocery bag]] of mysterious contents.
* Loudly eating melty [[Zagnut Bars|chocolate bars]] while standing too close to you in lines.
* Smelling like [[Peas|pea soup]] (according to [[Homestar Runner]]).
* Speaking in phrases that are described by Strong Bad as "[[portmanteaus|almost one word and not quite another]]," such as "excardon me" and "exobably not".
* "Calling at you as if you were a lady," [[Gender Confusion|regardless of your gender]].

Strong Bad seems to look up to Senor Cardgage as sort of an idol or a father figure. He is constantly heard remarking on how cool he believes Senor Cardgage is and how he wishes to be that cool. In [[Senorial Day]], Strong Bad asks Senor to autograph his football and throw it to him. In [[alternate universe]], he says that his life is complete after going on a fishing trip with Senor Cardgage, and expresses joy at the thought of Senor adopting him. When he sees Senor as an usher in [[the movies]], he tells [[The Cheat]] that "someday [he's] going to be the one tearing tickets and telling folks that forty-twone will be on their lest."

However, none of the other characters seem to like him. In particular, Strong Sad still harbors fear against Senor Cardgage as evidenced in [[garage sale]]. Strong Mad also ran away in terror when Senor Cardgage asked him to retrieve his spectacles. And of course, Homestar seems annoyed with Senor Cardgage for standing too close to him in line while eating melty candy bars, and is put off by his odd catchphrases (as well as thinking he smells like pea soup).

Even though he has a car dealership and his own mortgage company, his residence is unknown. It is suggested in [[Senorial Day]] and [[candy product]] that he is homeless, as he is shown in an [[alleyway]] sleeping in a sleeping bag and using his [[Wikipedia:Aldi|Aldi]] bag as a pillow, although in the email [[kind of cool]] Strong Bad implied that he lives behind a bush. Strong Sad said that Senor Cardgage lived down the street when they were little, implying he had a house at one point; however, there is no proof of this or of his current residence, if any. Although it is implied that he is poor, he offers to buy Strong Sad a can of peas at [[Strong Bad]]'s [[garage sale]] for $99, and then proceeds to walk away with it, supposedly paying, even though he is never seen to do so. A possible solution to this conflict has been shown in an Easter egg from the email [[love poems]], where it is revealed that Senor Cardgage has written a book called ''The Homeless Romantic'': "verses from the weird shrub and alarming recipes for brunswick stew".

When Strong Bad is asked what he would be like if he was not stylish and buff in the email [[kind of cool]], he describes Senor Cardgage who is, at least to Strong Bad, "so cool, you don't even know [that he is] cool". Strong Bad tries to represent what he would be like if he was ugly, dumpy guy with a bad comb-over, and it turns out his fictional character actually existed and lived down the street from the Brothers Strong during their youth.

As shown in a commercial in [[theme song]], Senor Cardgage got fourteen degrees in the [[Crazy Go Nuts University|CGNU Online E-niversity]] during his lunch "take", including one that lets him "legally prescribe marriages in the state of Kansattica". He also runs a day care called [[Papa Cardgage's PUDDIN' PATCH]].

Senor Cardgage recently lost a Non Sequitur Championship to the equally bizarre character [[Homsar]]. As the loser of the contest, he had to complete a coherent sentence on [[The Show]] (as documented in the short [[Non-Sequitur Champion]]). He failed twice, but his third attempt ("Grape Soda Banked") was judged successful by "<s>celebrity</s> judge" Strong Sad.
