STRONG BAD: {singing} I'm doin' a party, I'm makin' it happen, on Strong Bad Email.
<blockquote class="lappy email">
<div>subject: the cheat</div>
Strong bad,<br>
For a long time i've been wondering... How far can you<br>
throw the cheat? If you don't want to do that, could you<br>
beat the crud out of homestar for no reason?<br>
<br>
Lewis Rudkin<br>
Essex, England.
</blockquote>
{Strong Bad reads Essex as "S X"}

STRONG BAD: {typing} Y'know, it's funny how this always seems to work out, Rudkin... {clears screen} but those just happen to be the first two events in the Strong Badathlon!

{cuts to Strong Badathlon logo, slowly zooming in. Strong Badia is visible in the background. Trumpet music plays.}

STRONG BAD: {typing} Unfortunately, they also happen to be my worst two events. The Cheat Chuck is consistently dominated by the Kenyans. I mean the Poopsmith. Ever since he devised the Whatsitburied Slop

{As he says this, it cuts to the Poopsmith next to a pile of whatsit, and then uses his shovel to fling a whatsit-covered The Cheat out of the pile.}

STRONG BAD: {voiceover} ...that guy's unbeatable!

{Cut to Coach Z standing next to the distance markers, watching The Cheat}

THE CHEAT: {Cheat noises as he flies through the air}

COACH Z: Holy gorsh! It looks like a new record!

{Cuts to Homsar and Marzipan sitting at a table having tea}

MARZIPAN: And that's why I believe the DNA evidence had been tampered with.

{The Cheat flies onto the table, causing whatsit to fly onto Marzipan's face and onto the camera, smearing it on the lens.}

HOMSAR: Well, hello, chocolate cake!

{Cuts to results board of the Strong Badathlon}
:The Cheat Chuck
:: The Poopsmith......211pts.

STRONG BAD: {voiceover} Greco-Roman Homestar Crud-Out-of-Beating is another event you'd think I'd be the best at. But the reigning champion seems to have intimate knowledge of Homestar's weak points.

{As he speaks, it cuts to Homestar walking onto the screen with a sweat band and athletic outfit on.}

HOMESTAR RUNNER: {punches himself in the stomach} Come on you little so and so. {slaps himself in the face, then punches himself in the stomach} Is that all you got? {punches himself in the side, then the face} Oh yeah? Oh yeah? You think you got it like that? {punches himself 3 times} Whaddya think this is, you little placemat? {gets hit in face once} A diaper show? {gets hit in stomach once more} It's not a diaper show. {gets hit in stomach again} I think that's pretty obvious.

STRONG BAD: {typing} Man, man, we should start putting those Homestar Vs. Homestar fights on pay-per-view. Instant classics! And speaking of pay-per-view,

{Cuts to Strong Bad sitting in the Basement, with a "Remote Put" graphic in the upper left hand corner.}

STRONG BAD: {voice over} Next up is the Remote Put.

{Cuts to the TV with a "Ready?" graphic on the screen.}

ANNOUNCER: {voice over, reading text that appears on screen} Cute little girl from sit-com sings patriotic song.

STRONG BAD: Dargh, I freakin' hate that little kid! Why'd they ever bring her on the show?! {throws remote} Agh!

{The remote hits the wall, breaking in two, causing the batteries to fly out. Graphic comes on screen, accompanied with a buzzer noise, graphic reads "DISQUALIFICATION! BATTERY FAULT!"}

STRONG BAD: What? These games are fixed! Check the East German's pants! Check the--
STRONG BAD: {voice over} Our coverage of the 2007 Strong Badathlon continues with the Clean and Jerk... Strong Mad's Underwears... Over His Head. Fortunately, you don't really have to clean them.

{Cuts to Strong Bad and Coach Z standing behind Strong Mad, whose underwear is sticking out of his singlet, with a ruler against his back.}

STRONG BAD: Uhh, are you trying to tell me that this man doesn't already have a wedgie of illegal proportions?

COACH Z: Nope, that's the regulation starting point.

STRONG BAD: That's it, I'm boycotting these games.

STRONG MAD: THANK THE LORD!!
STRONG BAD: {voice over} And finally, my strongest event, {graphic appears, and adds new picture with each word} Probably Something with Guitars, lasers, Robots, and Hot Girls.

{Cut to Powered By The Cheat cartoon. A version of the Strong Badathlon logo morphs into a cloud at the top right corner as Strong Bad, with laser arms, fires at robots walking in the background. A woman with a green-and-white striped shirt walks by; when she walks past Strong Bad, he can be seen through the green stripes.}

STRONG BAD: {laser noises, shoots robots} Hey, wait, look Laconic, I got I won the Good medal.

{With one laser-hand, he holds up a "Good medal". Cut to a Powered By The Cheat version of The Cheat playing the guitar. The word "Streisand" appears across the screen (going off the right side of it) as someone says it.}

STRONG BAD: {typing} And after all the medals have been given to the wrong athletes, we come to the ending closimonies, celebrating poor sportsmanship, drug testing, and good ol' fashioned people twirling ribbons.

{Cuts to Strong Sad and Marzipan twirling ribbons on a stage.}

HOMESTAR RUNNER: {singing and dancing} Just take those old glasses off the shelf...

{Fireworks go off in the background, then a cut to Strong Bad sitting at the Lappy.}

STRONG BAD: {typing} There you have it, Rudkin Shampoo. Someteen Days of Glory! And after the closimonies, most BadAthletes immediately begin filming product endorsements while their names are still fresh in our minds.

{Cuts to Strong Bad sitting in a kitchen with a box of cereal and a bowl.}

STRONG BAD: Whoa, wipe my brow. {he swipes sweat off his face} Winning gold medals {he holds up one} takes a lot of hard cereal, and dedication. That's why I eat {hold up box} Temporarios! The official cereal of athletes you won't remember in two weeks! {cuts to a shot of the box and bowl of cereal with two gold medals hanging off the side of it} Temporarios, {speech bubble comes out of box} "Cause I'm Don't Get Paid!"
Fun Facts
checkstuffpage

Explanations
*"Athlon" in "strong badathlon" means "contest" in Greek, and is found in the names of such events as the biathlon, triathlon, pentathlon, heptathlon, and decathlon.
*East Germany, or the German Democratic Republic, was a Communist state that existed prior to the fall of the Berlin Wall and dominated several Olympic events, in part because of their athletes' prolific use of steroids.
*Olympic athletes often rely on product endorsements for income due to Olympic amateurism regulations.
*Kenyan athletes are noted for dominating the sport of distance running.
*The "clean and jerk" is a part of weightlifting.
*Though the next Summer Olympics aren't until 2008, many Olympic-style competitions had been held around the time this email came out.

Trivia
*Before The Paper comes down, you can see the words "Side Words" on the side of the Temporarios box.
**This is also visible when Strong Bad first holds up the box.
*The "weak points" on Homestar's body appear to be the face, kidneys, and groin.

Remarks
*Even though Homestar has no visible arms, he is still somehow able to punch himself.
*The Poopsmith being entrant Number 2 is a euphemism of Whatsit.
*The audience for the ending closimonies consists of (from left to right) Homsar, The Poopsmith, The Cheat, and Strong Bad, silhouetted in the foreground.

Goofs
* Strong Bad's arm disappears briefly when he wipes the sweat off his forehead.
*There's a white spot on the "O" in the "don't" during the product endorsment.

Fixed Goofs
*The slogan for Temporarios cereal, "Cuz I'm don't get paid!" was originally missing the closing set of quotation marks (see right); this was quickly corrected.

Inside References
*Cableman Jorge was Strong Bad's alias in Marzipan's Answering Machine Version 9.2.
*"Someteen days of glory!" is a reference to Teen Girl Squad Issue 10, where The Ugly One has a "Sweet Someteen Birthday".
*Guitars and lasers is possibly a reference to new hands, where, near the end, Strong Bad laments not having chosen guitars and laser guns as possible prosthetics.
**Additionally, the lasers replacing Strong Bad's hands are the same style as the laser that replaces one of his hands in an Easter egg in the same email.
*Cherry Greg wins the Remote Put with 11 points.
*The "GOOD" medal references the "GOOD" ribbon awarded in Pumpkin Carve-nival.
*Temporarios is another instance of invented breakfast cereal.
*The music for the commercial at the end is the same as the Schenectady Crispies spot in labor day.

Real-World References
*The Whatsitburied Slop is a reference to the Fosbury Flop, a technique used in high jumping.
*The "Greco-Roman Homestar Crud-Out-of-Beating" event takes its name from Greco-Roman wrestling, one of the three styles of wrestling contested in the Olympic Games.
*The song Homestar starts to sing during the "ending closimonies" is sung to the tune of the song "Old Time Rock and Roll" by Bob Seger. He replaces the word "glasses" for "records" in the song, referencing a commercial from the 1980s for the Hardee's fast food franchise's collectible set of Alvin and the Chipmunks glasses. The song lyrics were changed in this commercial (and sung by The Chipmunks) to "Just take those old glasses off the shelf / Get down to Hardees and help yourself / Those other glasses ain't got the same class / I want an Alvin and the Chipmunks glass".
*"Rudkin Shampoo" is a reference to the actual brand Redken Shampoo.
*The half-circles and circle on the corner of the Strong Badathlon logo resemble those of the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation logo. <!-- Usable or not? -->
*"Someteen days of glory!" is also a reference to a 1985 documentary covering the 1984 Summer Olympics, Sixteen Days Of Glory
*"Streisand", from the Powered by The Cheat segment, most likely refers to the famous actress/singer Barbra Streisand.
*Strong Bad's claim that he is going to boycott the games is most likely a reference to the U.S. led boycott of the 1980 Moscow Olympics, which included 64 other nations and was prompted by the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan. This action was subsequently repeated by the USSR and 14 of their Eastern Bloc partners at the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics claiming that the safety of their athletes could not be guaranteed.
*Homestar fighting himself is possibly inspired by the Monty Python sketch, Colin "Bomber" Harris vs Colin "Bomber" Harris.
*Temporarios are a parody of Team Cheerios, a variation of Cheerios that was available very briefly around the time of the 1996 Summer Olympics. They also resemble Froot Loops.
Aren't we supposed to update the wiki with a cool, christmas-in-the-homestar-universe-themed skin and logo?-- 00:11, 10 December 2006 (UTC)

:We've never done it before, but then again, we've never done a halloween skin before, either. So I don't see why not. It's a matter of wiki-wide opinion. &mdash; 03:31, 10 December 2006 (UTC)
::I say we go for it. If Halloween gets a skin, Decemberween should too. 02:01, 14 December 2006 (UTC)
:::We will do it. Just need to actually... do it. Dot com is pretty dang overwhelmed right now, though. You gotta give it to the guy. Unless, somebody with the know-how can design and post some ideas. That would be very helpful. &mdash;BazookaJoe 04:33, 14 December 2006 (UTC)
::::Near the beginning of the logo redesign discussion, Bleed0range proposed this Decemberween logo. 16:52, 19 December 2006 (UTC)
:::::I like it. Any other opinions? 03:00, 22 December 2006 (UTC)
::::::To clarify, I think the one Trey links to above is the way to go. I know another one was recently uploaded which is more like our current logo, with Homestar smiling. But the original seems more fitting to me: less distracting, plus mouth closed kind of makes sense if you're in the snow. 03:07, 22 December 2006 (UTC)
:::::::I also prefer the one Trey linked to. However, the newest one (here) has a nice touch that I like: snow sitting on the letters. Unless bleed0range can add the snow to the older one (he explained that it's a difficult task to create these things), I think we should stick with the logo Trey linked to. 03:13, 22 December 2006 (UTC)
I had a slightly different take on it. Here is our current logo frozen over. I used elements from our current logo and the ones above. I found the falling snow to be a little too much, so I didn't put it in this one. &mdash; It's dot com 04:43, 22 December 2006 (UTC)

:I like the frozen over one.&nbsp;-- Tom 04:47, 22 December 2006 (UTC)
::I want to use the Decemberween logo until the end of Christmas (I'd choose the first one posted), then I would love to switch over to that logo for a while! All great logos, here. &mdash;BazookaJoe 04:48, 22 December 2006 (UTC)
:::I'd prefer it if we only use one logo. I like the blue background better, but I really like the snow. It's only for a few days, so I don;t think it would be all too distracting. 04:52, 22 December 2006 (UTC)
::::I think we should use the one of the two red & green and falling snow logos until the end of Christmas (and change the "what's new" part of the Main page to green) &mdash; after the end of Christmas, go to the frozen-over one. I like them both, but to me, the red & green says "Decemberween" and the frozen one says "winter". 05:01, 22 December 2006 (UTC)
:::::To clarify myself and elaborate: :Image:Hrwiki dween logo.gif until the end of Christmas, then :Image:HRWiki logo frozen.gif for a while beyond that. Let's compromise, please. Bleedy made a very nice logo and he worked very hard to make it. These are both great Decemberween- and Winter-themed logos, respectively, and I would like to see them both used. Four days of animated falling snow is a very short time, and it deserves at least that much. &mdash;BazookaJoe 05:08, 22 December 2006 (UTC)
::::::Yes, it's best that we don't let something like that go to waste. I suggest that we put it up now. Then change it to the Decemberween logo. And then after that we change it back to the falling snow one until after the New Years. Or we could just try that alternating thing...--H*Bad 05:24, 22 December 2006 (UTC)
:::::::Just to clarify: I am calling the falling snow one the Decemberween one. The one It's dot com uploaded I would like to call Winter or Frozen, if I may. &mdash;BazookaJoe 05:29, 22 December 2006 (UTC)
::::::::Reverse what I said. Snow falling one, Decemberween one. The one that Dot com made, could be used until New Years.--H*Bad 05:36, 22 December 2006 (UTC)
I think we should take BazookaJoe's suggestion (D'ween colors now; switch to the frozen one after Christmas). The fast falling snow just doesn't look right, so I think we should use the original D'ween one. I wish the one with the slower falling snow looked more like the smiling pose, but oh well. I'm sure it could be tweaked, but given the lateness of the month, I think we should do whatever we're gonna do right away. &mdash; It's dot com 05:53, 22 December 2006 (UTC)
So many DVDs, so little time
Back when there was only a small number of DVDs it was simple. Now, with so many for sale, it's a little more confusing for the new fan to know where to find a particular toon on a DVD. For example, the article for The System is Down does indicate there is DVD commentary, but it does not list which DVD it is on. I'm thinking it easily could indicate that this toon is found on Everything Else, Volume 1 in the article. Proposing, as a project for a few industious type people, that (1) somewhere in the article in some way (what that way is should be discussed) that the toon is available on a specific DVD, and/or (2) categories for the contents of each DVD be created.

I'm thinking we divide it down to the volume it's contained on. This means there are 4 strongbad_email.exe DVDs and 2 Everything Else DVDs currently. Thoughts, proposals and comments are welcome. 22:34, 3 January 2007 (UTC)

:Ooh, yes. This needs doing. &mdash; It's dot com 22:46, 3 January 2007 (UTC)

::Good idea &mdash; for the link to the specific DVD, I'm thinking of the heading, so instead of "DVD Version", change it to either "DVD Version" or "DVD Version (Everything Else, Volume 1)". 22:51, 3 January 2007 (UTC)

:::Perhaps it should go up in the main headers. I think the name of the DVD should be spelled out, not hidden in a piped link. Whatever system we come up with, it needs to be easily expandable to incorporate future DVDs. &mdash; It's dot com 22:54, 3 January 2007 (UTC)
<div style="border:1px solid #CCC; padding:4px; margin: 0 8px; width: 45em">
Places: Error Page

Date: January 22, 2003

DVD Version: Everything Else, Volume 1
</div>
::::That's a good idea too. 23:06, 3 January 2007 (UTC)
:::::I like Trey's format. I additionally volunteer to get a few done, when the time comes. &mdash; 00:31, 4 January 2007 (UTC)
::::::With so many DVD's, I think that this fromat will come in handy. I don't really like "DVD Version" though. Maybe just plain "DVD"? I also offer my services when we put this in place. - 00:35, 4 January 2007 (UTC)
:I like the idea. I want to pair up both Trey's format and DVD-specific categories. One stipulation: Any toons that are not DVD-only could maybe have the DVD Version: line go directly underneath the "DVD Version" section. I also would like to split the categories ([[:Category:strongbad_email.exe DVD|[1]]], [[:Category:Everything Else DVD|[2]]]) into Category:strongbad_email.exe Disc 1; strongbad_email.exe Disc 2; strongbad_email.exe Disc 3; strongbad_email.exe Disc 4; Everything Else, Volume 1; and Everything Else, Volume 2. So maybe we should make a template similar to Comp that will automagically include the category with the line. &mdash;BazookaJoe 01:19, 4 January 2007 (UTC)
::Would DVD version be confused with regional formats? Is there a better wording? Maybe Included on DVD:? 03:26, 4 January 2007 (UTC)
:::I was also thinking that DVD Version: could be confusing. I was thinking of just plain DVD:, but whatever works. &mdash;BazookaJoe 03:33, 4 January 2007 (UTC)
::::Yeah, DVD is just vaguely specific enough to be perfect. &mdash; 03:37, 4 January 2007 (UTC)
:::::::/me likes it. 05:28, 4 January 2007 (UTC)
:::::::We could have DVD: and DVD exclusive: to make it more obvious what kind of toon it is. 05:35, 4 January 2007 (UTC)
::::::::Great idea &mdash; that will make it clear which ones are web-only, DVD-only, and both. 06:02, 4 January 2007 (UTC)

:Last thing to figure out before we make all the changes: does the "DVD:" heading go at the very top of the page (along with page title, running time, etc.), or underneath the "DVD Version" header? I say, put it at the very top of the page &mdash; that way you can see exactly where you can view the toon without having to read to the bottom. I know there are times in the past where I've had trouble figuring out on a page whether the toon could be viewed on the web or not. 06:21, 4 January 2007 (UTC)

::What should the category be? "[Name of DVD] Features"? "[Name of DVD] Contents"? "[Name of DVD] Toons" doesn't seem to fit, because not everything is a toon. &mdash; It's dot com 06:32, 4 January 2007 (UTC)
:::Why even put Contents/Features into the category title? Isn't it implied? Could be. Someone comes across the category at the bottom of a toon's page and infers that that category has everything related to the DVD disc, including all other toons... because that toon is already in the category. &mdash;BazookaJoe 06:47, 4 January 2007 (UTC)
::::Yes, I think that's a good idea. See the . In addition, I think the encompassing categories need to be changed to strongbad_email.exe DVD series and Everything Else DVD series (or with Series capitalized in both cases) instead of just DVD. &mdash; It's dot com 16:46, 4 January 2007 (UTC)
::::::Because Everything Else isn't just one DVD, and neither is strongbad_email.exe. They are each a series of DVDs, and the category name should reflect that. These two categories are the ones I'm suggesting need a name change. &mdash; It's dot com 18:08, 4 January 2007 (UTC)
:::::::Lest we forget - is there further discussion needed here, or should a plan of action ensue? 03:46, 10 January 2007 (UTC)

::::::::The two things that I'm not sure whether we decided are (1) does the data go at the top of the page or under "DVD Version"? and (2) what should the names of the categories be? I haven't been following the second question, but as soon as we figure out the first question, we can start adding in the templates (cats can be sorted out as the templates are being added). It looks like the background is a JPG. At first I thought it was that way because of mediawiki, but during the holidays, the background was most certainly a PNG. Is there a reason, or should it be changed? - 00:36, 12 January 2007 (UTC)

<div style="border:1px solid #CCC; padding:4px; margin: 0 8px; width: 45em">

DVD Version: Everything Else, Volume 1
</div>
::::That's a good idea too. 23:06, 3 January 2007 (UTC)
:::::::/me likes it. 05:28, 4 January 2007 (UTC)

Could be.

:I think we need to create the category pages for this project. I like the way it is now (the name of the category is the name of the disc). And I still think that :Category:Everything Else, Volume 1 and :Category:Everything Else, Volume 2 need to go in :Category:Everything Else DVD Series (or something similar, instead of what we currently have, which is just plain "DVD"), to emphasize the fact that it's not just one DVD, but several in a set. &mdash; It's dot com 05:23, 11 January 2007 (UTC)

{pauses between "Dear" and "Strong"}

STRONG BAD: ...and there's no name. Um... Thanks, Your friend... Jhonka.

{He types "Jhonka" under "Your Friend", then starts typing his reply.}

STRONG BAD: {typing} No way, Jhonka! What a coincidence! I was just on my way out the door to go to the annual Strong Sad Lookalike Contest where contestants are judged on appearance, impression and penmanship. I'm a shoo-in this year, man. Wait'll you see my costume!

{He runs offscreen, but runs back a few seconds later to say:}

STRONG BAD: Not beatin' around the bush this week.

{Strong Bad runs off again. Cut to The Field. Coach Z is standing under a sign that reads: "2003 Sectional Finals — STRONG SAD LOOKALIKE CONTEST".}

COACH Z: Okay, I'd like to welcome everybody back! Hope you enjoyed your intermission there. Bubs, the hot cold cuts was great!

BUBS: {off screen} Those were moist towelettes!

COACH Z: So without further ado, I'd like to introduce the man of the hour, the deathly pallor: Strong Sad!!

{Strong Sad joins Coach Z under the sign}

THE KING OF TOWN: {off screen} Booo!

STRONG SAD: Thank you! Thank you! I'm simultaneously honored and insulted to be involved in this contest for the fourth year in a row.

COACH Z: That's enough there, Strong Sad! {He shoves Strong Sad out of the way.} Your work is done here. Let's get this pratty started!!

{Cut to a view of Strong Bad in a Strong Sad costume, which consists of a grey "Phys Ed" sweatshirt, a white beret, and a paper plate with Strong Sad's face drawn on it. There's a suspicious looking lump under the sweatshirt.}

COACH Z: Lookin' good there, Strong Bad.

STRONG BAD: I know.

COACH Z: Nice use of light and shadow.

STRONG BAD: I know.

COACH Z: ...and picnic supplies.

STRONG BAD: I know. Shut up.

COACH Z: Let's hear what you got.

STRONG BAD: All right. Let me just push play on my "sweatshirt" here.

STRONG SAD: {on a tape} Why do you want me to say "Hello, my name is Strong Sad"? {He fast-forwards the tape} Get that tape-recorder out of my face {more fast-forwarding} Stop flickin' my ear!

STRONG BAD: {also on tape} More like: You stop flickin' my ear!

STRONG BAD: {He stops the tape.} Ha ha. Oops.

COACH Z: Ok, then. Very unsuspicious.

STRONG BAD: I know.

{Coach Z moves on to Homestar Runner. Homestar is wearing hippo slippers and a grey shirt with a star on it, and he has a sock taped to his head instead of his signature hat.}

COACH Z: Hey, there, Homestar. Nice hippo slippers.

HOMESTAR RUNNER: Thanks. They're elephants.

COACH Z: Sure they are! Now let's hear your impression.

HOMESTAR RUNNER: Um... Remind me again what type stuff that guy says.

COACH Z: You know. Depressing-type stuff!

HOMESTAR RUNNER: Right, right! Here goes! Ahem. {in a depressing voice} Oh... Some animal died. {In his normal voice} That's something he's always saying, right?

COACH Z: Yeah, I think I heard him say that a few times. Next contestant!

{The next contestant appears to be Strong Sad.}

COACH Z: Strong Sad, you're not eligible for this contest! I thought I told youse to go on home!

{A familiar-looking hat pops up out of nowhere on the Strong Sad lookalike's head revealing that he is, in fact, Homsar. His Strong Sad costume is flawless. Coach Z doesn't realize who it is.}

HOMSAR: {sadly} AaAaAaAa... I'm cryin' on the inside!

{The Cheat hops up in a paper bag, painted to look like Strong Sad's left leg.}

COACH Z: Okay, The Chort, lay it on me!

THE CHEAT: {depressed The Cheat noises)

COACH Z: Holy crap! It's as if Strong Sad was still alive and with us today! First Prize!

THE CHEAT: {The Cheat noise} {Jumps up out of the bag, then lands back inside bag}

{Cut to Strong Bad's computer. Strong Bad walks up muttering. He's still in costume.}

STRONG BAD: Stupid friggin' Cheat-in-a-Bag. {typing} I can't believe The Cheat won sectionals for the 4th year in a row dressed up as Strong Sad's left leg. I knew I should have gone for the bigger butt. {stops typing} Oh well. {resumes typing} At least I won the penmanship award. But I should get going if I'm still going to be fashionably late to the afterparty. {stops typing.} So, until next time, all the ladies and dudes say: {singing} "Strong Bad is a cool guy! And we're not cool in the least!"

{Strong Bad leaves and The Paper descends.}
*Click on "Jhonka" to see just what a Jhonka is. (Once again, we are shown that Strong Bad likes trolls.)
<blockquote>JHONKA<br />
<br />
The Jhonka are one of many<br />
tribes of primitive, troll-like<br />
creatures found in the lowlands<br />
and throughout lesser dungeons.<br />
<br />
Their low intelligence makes<br />
them quite susceptible to toilet<br />
humor and cheap gags such as<br />

Fun Facts
Explanations
*The "not beating around the bush" comment may refer to Strong Bad's normal way of not really answering an email's question. Alternatively, it may mean that there is no delay between his remark and his answer.
*Pallor means paleness.
*The "cheap gag" mentioned in the Jhonka Easter Egg involves the perpetrator giving the receiver a high five ("Up high"), then pretending to offer a low-five ("down low"), but pulling their hand away before the other person can slap it ("too slow").

Remarks
*Strong Sad on the tape tells Strong Bad to stop flicking his ear, but Strong Sad doesn't have visible ears.
*The Cheat's costume has three toenails, whereas Strong Sad's soolnds only have two toenails each.
*In this email, Strong Bad shows excellent touch-typing skills as he finishes the email with a paper plate mask taped to his face. However, he seems to later lose this ability. In pom pom, Strong Bad is unable to type while blindfolded.
*Strong Sad actually saying "Oh...some animal died" was made the Quote of the Week the same day this email appeared on the site.
*Homestar wearing elephant slippers may be a reference to Soolnds because they look like "elephant feet".
*Both wooden columns supporting the banner have the staples and torn pieces of paper in the exact same spots.

Goofs
*When Strong Bad comes back to the computer after the contest, still wearing his costume, his hat is incorrectly mirrored in the screen's reflection.
*The form for the penmanship contest says 2004 Sectional Finals, however, the sign for the contest said 2003.
*Homestar's eyes reverse direction quickly before he slouches to do his Strong Sad impression.

Fixed Goofs
*At the end of the afterparty Easter egg, a snippet of Strong Bad's voice from the beginning could be heard.

Glitches
*If you click on both the Bigger Butt and Penmanship Award Easter eggs at the end, the Penmanship award will always be on top, regardless of which order they are activated in.

Inside References
*At the after party Coach Z is drinking a "Not So Cold One," from property of ones.
*Strong Bad's comeback "More like, YOU stop flicking MY ear," is very similar to his comeback in 50 emails.
*The hat Strong Bad wears is similar to the hat Strong Sad originally wore in his original sketches seen in the Sketchbook (museum).
*Coach Z's praise of The Cheat's costume ("It's as if Strong Sad was still alive and with us today!") is another instance of Strong Sad's imagined death.

Real-World References
*The picture of Jhonka is reminiscent of the various humanoid creatures in Dungeons and Dragons.
**In previous versions of Dungeons and Dragons, an armor class of +2 would be a decent defense rating. However, in the current incarnation of Dungeons and Dragons it would make the creature very easy to hit in combat. The article's tone seems to indicate that it was written for 2nd edition AD&D.
*In the bigger butt Easter egg, Strong Bad drew the Kangol kangaroo above his cap. Kangol is a British clothier famous for this kind of hat.

Fast Forward
*The Jhonka plays a prominent role in Peasant's Quest.
*Homestar also uses, "Oh... Some animal died" in Marzipan's Answering Machine Version 9.2.
*The Deathly Pallor will later become the name of Strong Sad's radio persona in radio. It is also used in the email trading cards.
*The King of Town again demostrates his low, one-man "boooo" in geddup noise after showing "The Standing Up Noise".

Must be an important one!" After the comma in the last sentence, he says "unnecessary comma," and he pronounces "Allison" as "All is on"}

STRONG BAD: {typing} Television?!! Kids?!! Wait, do you people think I'm intended for children? Like, the littlest, tiniest babies? You know, they watch those shows on public television. I don't think I'm cut out for that sort of sugarjob.

{Cut to a piece of yellow paper of the sort used to teach kindergartners writing. Strong Bad is superimposed on it with a rocket launcher/bazooka, a monster with horns, a bunny with fangs, and a creature that resembles a man sticking its tongue out drawn in crayon around him.}

STRONG BAD: {Smiling beatifically} Okay, kids, we're gonna play "Where's The Cheat?". Can you say, "a-The Cheat"?

KIDS: {half incoherent} The Cheat. {one child mumbles} Christopher Columbus.

STRONG BAD: Not good enough. F minus minus.

{"F--" appears on the screen. The DELETED buzzer is heard. Cut back to Strong Bad. Behind him are a tree and an open box. A toilet is in front of him.}

STRONG BAD: All right, dumb children. {rubs his hands together} Find The Cheat!

{The Cheat comes out from behind the box.}

KIDS: {say things like "He's over there," or "Right there." They continue saying this.}

STRONG BAD: Um, no, he's behind the box. {Turns around and points to The Cheat} No, uh, he's not even behind the box, he's barely obscured by the box. {turns around} Look, The Cheat is behind the freaking box!!

{Kids stop talking and the music soundtrack screeches to a halt accompanied by a record scratch. Strong Bad breathes heavily, then comes closer to the viewer, and starts screaming manically}

STRONG BAD: HE'S BEHIND THE BOX! I'LL KILL YOU!! I'LL KILL ALL YOUR DOGS<!-- It's dogs, not dolls, as revealed in the DVD commentary. -->!!

{Cut back via a change of TV channels to Strong Bad at the Compy 386}

STRONG BAD: So, you can see how that might be less than pleasant. What with all the letter writing and the angry mothers and the subsequent stringing me up in town square for all to see. But you know who's a natural for that sorta thing? None other than America's favorite blue midget Homestar: Homsar!!

{Cut to an all-white scene. Homsar comes through a faraway door. He walks closer to the viewer and stops.}

KIDS: Whaddaya know, Haddi-man?

{As the words are sung, they are shown one by one at the bottom of the viewer's screen. A caricature of Homsar rides by from right to left in a boat with a flag. The background is light green, with white, yellow, purple and green flowers spinning counter-clockwise. His shirt says "if you lived here you'd be home"}

MAN: We'll have an adventure, and several long trips. We'll make some new friends&mdash;

{Smiling, multi-ethnic children appear behind Homsar as he sails left off the screen}

MAN: &mdash;and maybe get a bite to eat!!!

{An orange with "abc" on it appears. Seven Homsar silhouettes now fan like a hand of cards from left to right, and then disappear in reverse order.}

MAN: All 'cause we say...

{A red silhouette of Homsar with the flag from the boat appears. White liquid spills onto the screen. A logo that says "Whaddaya Know Haddi-man?" with a second caricature of Homsar on it appears.}

KIDS: Whaddaya know, Haddi-man?

{The real Homsar pops up on the left side of the screen in the lower left corner.}

HOMSAR: DaAaAaA! I'm a trendy tote bag!

{Cut to a tan scene. Homsar disappears and reappears in various places, accompanied by raspberry noises. When he stops in the left half of the foreground, a blue lower case "g" appears beside him.}

KIDS: A "G"!

HOMSAR: I'm not gonna lie to you, that's a healthy piece of real estate!

KIDS: A "G"!

{Cut to a purple background with a seated, mustachioed man playing a guitar. As the words are sung, they appear on the screen.}

MAN: Stave it off, 1-2-3, and now you can count to three.

HOMSAR: That's a real popular song! Who wants to hear of it fifty times more?

KIDS: {shouts of approval}

{Cut to the previous screen. Now we see two of the guitar-playing people, one in a darker shade superimposed behind the other. Again, as the words are sung, they appear on the screen.}

MAN: Stave it off, 1-2-3, and now you can count to three.

{The darker shaded guitarist is suddenly upside-down, and the song is repeated as are the words on the screen.}

MAN: Stave it off, 1-2-3, and now you can count to three.

{Cut back to the Compy via a channel change.}

STRONG BAD: {typing} Good gravy. {Spoken: GOOD... GRAVY.} I've got two words for the children that are raised on that crap: HELD BACK. REPEATING THE THIRD GRADE. LOW STANDARDIZED TEST SCORES. I GUESS THIS WAS MORE THAN TWO WORDS. THE PAPER, PLEASE TAKE US HOME.
Fun Facts
Explanations
*A person who practices total abstinence from alcoholic beverages is called a teetotaller.

Remarks
*The commands Strong Bad uses in Peasant's Quest were not originally part of the game but were added after this email debuted.
**Typing "make friends with kerrek" results in the message "Look, it didn't work for Strongbad [sic] and it's not gonna work for you either."
**Typing "buy kerrek a cold one" results in the message "The Kerrek is a teetotaller and is offended by your request. You've really cheesed him off now." Also, the Kerrek begins moving twice as fast.
*It is impossible to get a negative score in the real game, despite Strong Bad's miserable showing.
*In Peasant's Quest Preview, it is said the maximum requirements for Peasant's Quest are a 286 CGA enabled PC. The Compy, judging by its name, contains a 386 processor.
*The positions of the crayon graphics in the first scene are all rearranged when the scene zooms in on SB's face.
*If the "Stave it off" song were really looped 50 times (including the pause heard in the email) it would last for 6 minutes, 10 seconds.

Goofs
*As Homsar says the word "trendy," his hat changes in size; first larger, then smaller, then back to normal.
*When Homsar talks after the lowercase "g" shows up (complete with various head movements and hat flyings, as per usual), his shadow stays still.

Glitches
*When Strong Bad is playing Peasant's Quest, the Contrast knob has no effect on any of the black text on the screen except for the game messages (i.e. "You quitter.").

Real-World References
*The fake show hosted by Strong Bad is a spoof of many children's shows; the kids heard shouting the answers to Strong Bad's questions are taken from the show Blue's Clues. Strong Bad's show is actually a strange reversal of Blue's Clues; in Blue's Clues the kids know all the answers to the questions asked but the host is completely clueless.
*The way Homsar enters and walks closer to the viewer is from the British kids' show "Bod". This is likely, as The Brothers Chaps have claimed that Bod was one of their influences.
*The noise Homsar makes when he teleports around are similar to noises on the PBS show Boohbah.
*The Guitar Playing Man bears a striking resemblance to folk singer James Taylor. Taylor has made numerous appearances on the children's TV program Sesame Street, often singing educational songs.
**He also bears a resemblance to Fred Penner and Jim Croce.
*Homsar asking the kids if they want to "hear of (the song) 50 times more" may be a reference to the BBC show Teletubbies, in which whenever a "real-life" clip is shown, it is always repeated per request of the Teletubbies.
*The "letter of the day" feature in Homsar's show is reminiscent of Sesame Street, which ends each show with the mock sponsorship, "Sesame Street was brought to you ... by the letter __!"

Fast Forward
*The "All Is On" song from this email is used again in the Easter egg for extra plug.
*The words "Stave it off, 1, 2, 3..." were used again in the email virus.
*Whaddaya Know, Haddi-Man? is heard in the background in secret identity.
*Part of the song played in the "Where's the Cheat?" part of the sbemail is heard in the Very, Very Little Girl easter egg in Summer Short Shorts.

Commentary Transcript
(Commentary by: Matt Chapman, Mike Chapman, Ryan Sterritt on guitar)

{Ryan’s guitar playing throughout the commentary}

MATT: You’re listening to the smooth, sultry, sounds of the Strong Bad DVD commentary.

RYAN: Dim the lights, Matt. Who’s on lights? Matt are you on lights?

MIKE: I know one thing for sure.

MATT: What’s that, Mike?

MIKE: Ryan Sterrit’s on the guitar right now.

RYAN: {over Mike} Oooooohhhhhhhh yyyyyyeeeeeaaaaaahhh.

MATT: What’s that Ryan?

RYAN: Hey um&mdash; re&mdash; re&mdash;

MIKE: {over Ryan} Make it sing. Make it sing.

RYAN: Regarding the P&mdash; the Peasant’s Quest thing we&mdash; or&mdash; before the email or just after we went back and added the phrases.

MATT: {over Ryan} Those two commands.

MIKE: Oh, into the game.

RYAN: Yes.

MIKE: Oh.

MATT: And you’d get the same responses, right?

RYAN: Y&mdash; something like that. Something similar.

MATT: Or maybe&mdash; no.

MIKE: Oh no, that’s right.

RYAN: {yelling} Check&mdash; Try&mdash; Try it out at home.

MIKE: Yeah.

RYAN: Find out yourselves.

MATT: Give it a shot.

RYAN: I’m sorry. I’m not being sufficiently jazzy in my role.

MATT: No! We’re all err&mdash;

MIKE: Hey it’s all good. It’s all hot.

MATT: Everything&mdash; we’re all a family here at Strong Bad Email. This is a little technique I used to make look like crayon drawing Flash it’s the&mdash; it’s the stippled stroke. There’s a stroke in your stroke tool all you Flash animators at home.

MIKE: Stroke.

MATT: It looks sort of like pebbles. Just do several different layers of it and maybe cut and paste the same layer, move it up a little bit. Instant crayon.

MIKE: {imitating child in the email} Christopher Columbus!

RYAN: Wait&mdash; wait, this is where Strong Bad gets violent.

MIKE: Yeah this is gonna be good contrast to&mdash; here...

MATT: Yeah. I don’t think&mdash; I don’t think I wanna watch this part.

MIKE: Strong Bad! Calm down, man!

MATT: You need to cool out, Strong Bad.

RYAN: Does he say, "I’ll kill all you dogs"?

MATT: Yeah.

RYAN: Or "all your dolls?"

MIKE AND MATT: Dogs.

RYAN: That’s what I thought he said.

MATT: He’s ang&mdash; he’s angry. It’s a little rough. There’s some kids at home who I don’t think could handle that.

RYAN: Yeah. It’s like&mdash; it’s like the new Star Wars episodes. Not suitable for children.

MATT: That’s what I hear. The world’s most childish...

MIKE: Hey Ryan. How ‘bout some more finger picking. {Ryan plays a little more} Thank you. That’s nice.

MATT: This is a, uh&mdash; this is a sweet intro I think to Homsar’s show.

MIKE: Yeah. I really wanna make this show, or at least watch it. I don’t want to make it. I wanna watch it.

RYAN: I like the, um, the construction paper appearance in this.

MATT: Yeah. Those kids and that orange&mdash; that orange I wanna snack on.

MIKE: Those kids are diverse.

MATT: They are! {talks over Mike} They’re from all over the world, Mike.

MIKE: {talks over Matt} There’s some diversity in those kids.

MATT: Haddi-man is accepting of all cultures.

{short pause}

MIKE: And fart noises.

{all laugh}

MIKE: {laughing} I wonder&mdash;

RYAN: &mdash;like a&mdash; statistical analysis on the number of, uh, fart noises or toilets or something like that delay this 1:30.

MATT: Is there?

RYAN: I don’t know. There’s the toilet and the claymation thing that&mdash; there’s probably a lot! Not that you guys resort to&mdash;

MATT: Who’s uncle? That’s&mdash; that’s Ryan right now. Looks just like that guy.

MIKE: He does! His legs crossed like that!

MATT: He’s got his legs crossed, tapping one foot.

MIKE: You need to put some socks on underneath your flip-flops.

{short pause}

MATT: Me! Me! Me! Me! That’s my favorite kid that’s in the background&mdash;

RYAN: Is he wearing sandals and socks?

MIKE: I don’t think he is, but I always sort of interpreted those weird lines around his foot as that.

RYAN: Hey guys, I’m sorry if I was implying that you guys do a lot of potty humor.

MIKE: Yeah. We’re gonna cut this out&mdash; we’re gonna cut you out of the DVD.

{all laugh}

RYAN: But, I’m not in the DVD.

MATT: You are in the DVD actually.

MIKE: You are cut out!

MATT: Umm&mdash;

RYAN: Nothing to cut.

{short pause}

RYAN: Keep it going. Keep it going, bro.

MATT: Keep it going. Low standardized test scores&mdash;

MIKE: How long does&mdash;

MATT: Let’s keep our standardized test scores low this evening, ladies and gentlemen.

RYAN: Test scores&mdash;

MATT: The Paper&mdash; Ryan, take us home.

{Ryan’s guitar playing until the end}
STRONG BAD: {singing} A-just scrape some email off the top, and I'll help you out toniiiight!

<blockquote class="lappy email"><div>subject: the chair.</div>
D to the ear Strong Bad,<br />That chair you're sitting on doesnt look very comfortable.<br />When are you going to get a new, less hardwood, big,<br />office manager-style comfy computer chair?<br />Yours truely,<br />Keith, PA</blockquote>

{pronounces "doesnt" as "dohs-n-t" and "truely" as "treh-leh", and reads "Keith, PA" as "Keith and Pa"}

STRONG BAD: Ooh! It's a father-son email picnic! {typing} Y to the ou don't know what you're talkin' about, Pakeithpsy. Stooly here is a tush-cheek's dream. So cottony squish and pillowy fresh. Take a look-see!

{Camera zooms out to show Strong Bad leaping off of the stool. The seat is filthy, and has the word "STANK" seeping out of it at various spots.}

STRONG BAD: Whoa, It's been upgraded to Stank...

{a face fades onto the seat of the stool and coughs}

STRONG BAD: Eeew... Maybe it is time for a re-imagining of my email-checkin' chair...

STOOL'S FACE: {coughs again} I just need a lozenge...

{cut to Strong Bad standing outside Bubs' Concession Stand, with the camera centered behind Bubs}

STRONG BAD: Hey, Bubs!

BUBS: Hey, customer!

STRONG BAD: What do you got in the way of things I can sit on whilst I check emails?

BUBS: Ooh! Lucky for you! I just got this pre-owned box of chicken beaks in just now! {places the box on the counter} Like right just now!

STRONG BAD: Ok, ok, ok... But you got anything less anthrax-y?

BUBS: I got this old Winger album! {holds up the record case}

STRONG BAD: Well, yeah... that is less anthrax-y. But I was kinda hoping for a chair of some kind.

BUBS: Step right into my showroom! {slides off screen and bursts out of the side of the concession stand} Alright! We'll start at the tip, and work our way to the tup!

STRONG BAD: You make less sense every day, Bubsy.

BUBS: Crabberdonk! <!-- or whatever he said... -->

{The side of the concession stand reattaches to the wall briefly, then falls back down with a red, white and blue bicycle seat on it}

STRONG BAD: Hey, that's no chair! That's Red, White and Banana! My old bicycle seat!

{cut to a film-projected scene of Li'l Strong Bad riding the bicycle seat outside a porch}

STRONG BAD: I used to ride that thing on my paper route all the time!

{Li'l Strong Bad lights a newspaper on fire with a Duplo lighter and throws it at the house; cut back to Strong Bad and Bubs outside the concession stand}

STRONG BAD: No, I'd better pass on that. I had a few too many wipeouts on that thing as a kid.

BUBS: Ugh! You nasty!

STRONG BAD: What?

{The side of the concession stand again reattaches, and falls down with a Homestar chair on it}

STRONG BAD: What makes you think I want to check my email on a Homestar Runner-shaped chair??

BUBS: Aw, come on. Give it a try!

{Strong Bad jumps onto the chair}

Chair: Ow.

STRONG BAD: {jumping out of the chair} Wah!

BUBS: Whoops, seen enough of that one!

{The concession stand displays a deformed chair}

STRONG BAD: Aww, your snowman died!

BUBS: You simpleton! This is a Danube-Largo original! The Styleron Ecochair! {camera zooms in on the chair as a Styleron Ecochair logo appears}

STRONG BAD: Look, I don't care how Swedish your chair is. I have no need for a giant albino doggie-doody. <!-- sic? I never thought I'd have to know how to spell this... -->

BUBS: Always a hit at parties...

STRONG BAD: Come on, Bubs! Don't you have anything more... executive? A chair that will intimidate my underlings and eliminate my overlings!

BUBS: Ooh! lucky for you! I just got this pre-owned&mdash; {concession stand displays the same box of chicken beaks}

STRONG BAD: {interrupting} NOT a box of chicken beaks!

BUBS: Oh. Then behold:

{the concession stand displays a large leather chair}

BUBS: Le Restige!

STRONG BAD: Style and class! Oh, tell me that leather's Corinthian! Just tell me it's Corinthian!

BUBS: Crabberdonk!

STRONG BAD: So what kind of options are we looking at on this baby?

BUBS: Ooh! You're gonna love this!

{Bubs opens a compartment in the arm rest to reveal a red button and presses it, making a buzzing sound; a pair of metallic arms appear from behind Strong Bad and slip a pair of gray sweat pants on him}

STRONG BAD: No way! A sweat pants button! And so begins my meteoric rise to the top of the corporate ladder... Now alls we gotta do is see how well it checks emails!

{cut back to the computer room, with Le Restige taking up nearly the entire screen}

STRONG BAD: {singing} I hate, hate, hate, this email...

{opens an email}

<blockquote class="lappy email"><div>subject: your mask</div>
Dear strong <!--these two words are lowercase in the email-->bad,<br /><!--no extra line break here-->
How come you never take your mask off?<br />
</blockquote>

STRONG BAD: {typing} Like I've said before, this is not a mask. It's my face. But hey, I'll give it a shot! {tugs on his face until it comes off, and raises it above the chair; screaming}

STRONG BAD: {reattaching his face} Ugh! I am NEVER gonna do that again! And, here's a picture of my parents.

{The corner of a photograph appears. The camera zooms out to show the entire chair.}

STRONG BAD: And now time to unwind with a pair of executive sweat pants! {pushes the sweat pants button}

{the robotic arms go haywire and toss Strong Bad into the air; he falls down with several layered sweat pants on his legs another pair on his head}

STRONG BAD: {groaning} Ooooh... so... many... sweat pants... I can't feel my parts...

{The Paper comes down}

Easter Eggs
*Click on the Styleron logo while Bubs shows off the ecochair to see a poster of the designer.
*At the end, click on Le Restige to see a scene of Strong Sad trying to sit on the ecochair.
:{Cut to Strong Sad's room. Strong Sad is balancing awkwardly atop the ecochair. The poster for it is on the wall behind him.}
:STRONG SAD: {Tips back and forth} Whoa... whoa... whoa... whoa... {Falls backwards, appearing to break his back} Ooh! ... I can't feel my parts...
*The photo of Strong Bad's parents, when viewed in a decompiler, is blank and reads "nice try dodongo!"

Fun Facts
Explanations
*A lozenge is a small medicated candy intended to be dissolved slowly to soothe irritated throats.
*Anthrax is an infectious, often fatal disease of cattle, sheep, and other mammals which can be transmitted to humans by contaminated wool, raw meat, or other animal products.
**It is also the name of an influential 80s thrash metal band.
*"What does Strong Bad look like without his mask?" and "What do the parents of the characters look like?" are two questions that The Brothers Chaps have said that they are not likely to ever answer seriously.
*"Chick'n beaks" might be a reference to the alternative spellings of meat products that often on the labels of vegetarian alternatives to meat (Since there's no actual meat in the product, companies spell the word differently so as to make no claims about actually containing meat). This would explain why the box says "ethical" on it.

Trivia
*The Floppy Disk Container reads "bio forge".

Remarks
*Le Restige is the same design of the chair used in rock opera.
*When Strong Bad pulls his face off, his V and his diamond are visible, which isn't likely unless Strong Bad had turned his head right around after reading the email. However, it is possible Strong Bad is merely fooling the viewer into thinking he has removed his "mask".
*There is no back button for this email.

Goofs
*We don't see or hear the conveyor belt go back up again after the Styleron Ecochair is seen for the last time, but the conveyor belt is up when Bubs brings out the chicken beaks again.

Inside References
*Strong Bad says (and supposedly demonstrates offscreen) that his "wrestling mask" is his real face. He mentioned this before in some kinda robot.
*The adjective "stank" was previously used in Halloween Potion-ma-jig
*When Strong Bad was recalling his memories of red, white, and banana, it was shown in the same way of Fan Costumes '06

Real-World References
*Winger is an American Hard Rock/Glam Metal band from New York City.
*Pakeithpsy sounds almost identical to the upstate New York city of Poughkeepsie.
*Lil' Strong Bad's lighter has an older version of the Duplo logo on it.
*Strong Bad's insistence about Corinthian leather is a reference to a 1975 commercial narrated by Ricardo Mantalbàn for the Chrysler Cordoba, where he famously intones about the "rich Corinthian leather" of the seats.
*A Dodongo is an enemy from the Legend of Zelda series.
Strong Sad's room is where Strong Sad spends most of his time, when not getting pummeled by Strong Bad. This is where Strong Sad plays board games with other board games and Homsar and Jenga with The Cheat on Tuesdays. He apparently prefers to segregate himself from the rest of the house as he has also been seen eating pot pie here, and he also uses his room to make arts and crafts. In the email "depressio," his room has a standard doorway with a rectagular table, but the room has converted to having an arched doorway with a large round table.

Decoration
The walls are purple, and he has several posters. One is for The Cure album "Boys Don't Cry" and has a silhouette of Robert Smith. Another is a poster for the movie "Some Kind of Wonderful". A third is a purple poster of "The Promise Ring" over his bed. He had another poster that was destroyed when Strong Bad crashed into the wall in gimmicks.

Notable Contents
Strong Sad must have his own computer to maintain his blog, check his email, and upload songs to his iPod, but this machine has yet to be revealed.
Transcript
STRONG BAD: {singing} Here I go once again with the email! Every week I hope that it's from a female! {opens email, stops singing} Oh man! Not from a female.

{reading email}

<blockquote class="compy email">Hey Strong Bad,<br />
<br />
Can you draw a dragon? I want to see<br />
your skills of an artist.<br />
<br />
well, g2g,<br />
kaizer<br />
CA</blockquote>

{After "artist," Strong Bad mumbles, "um, okay," and adds the word "from" between "kaizer" and "California."}

STRONG BAD: {typing} A dragon? That's easy! Feel free to follow along with my simple step-by-step instructions. I make drawing FUN!!

{Cut to a close-up of a piece of paper on a table. You can see only Strong Bad's right boxing glove, and he is holding a pencil. Simple music starts playing.}

STRONG BAD: To begin, draw an S&mdash;

{Draws an S on the paper.}

STRONG BAD: &mdash;for snake. Or dragon. Er, whatever. Next, we'll draw a more different S.

{Draws another S connected to the other}

STRONG BAD: For the head, put a top mark on a long V.

{Draws a triangle on top of the S}

STRONG BAD: Then you add some legs...

{Draws two beefy legs}

STRONG BAD: ...draw on a couple of arms... and&mdash;

{Draws two beefy arms, eyes, spikes, teeth and angry eyebrows.}

STRONG BAD: Whoa. Wait a minute.

{Music stops with a record scratch}

STRONG BAD: I think I need to start over. Thing doesn't look natural.

{Draws a speech bubble coming from the dragon that says 'The S is for sucks,' and pulls up a clean sheet of paper.}

STRONG BAD: Okay, so starting again, the same way. S, more different S.

{Music starts again}

STRONG BAD: Close it up real good at the top for his head,&mdash;

{Makes an attached, open-mouth head}

STRONG BAD: &mdash;and then, using consummate V's, give him teeth, spinities, and angry eyebrows.

{Draws all of what he mentioned, plus stick legs.}

STRONG BAD: Then, you can add smoke or fire,&mdash;

{Draws both coming from the dragon's mouth}

STRONG BAD: &mdash;or maybe some wings, you know, if he's a...wing-a-ling dragon.

{Draws two wings on the dragon's back.}

STRONG BAD: Let's put one of those beefy arms back on for good measure.

{Draws a single beefy arm on the back of the dragon}

STRONG BAD: That looks really good. Comin' out of the back of his neck, there.

{Taps the drawing with his pencil point}

STRONG BAD: Now he needs a name. How about Trogdor the Burninator.

{Writes it below the dragon}

STRONG BAD: Oh yeah. Check out all his majesty.

{Draws rays of majesty coming from the dragon}

STRONG BAD: {typing} So there's my dragon, Kaizer. {music stops} Let's see how the other students are doing.

{Cut to scene in a big room with several tables. Strong Bad approaches Coach Z, who is drawing with chalk on a small slate.}

STRONG BAD: All right! What do you got for me, Coach Z?

COACH Z: Take a look there!

{Zoom in a squiggly drawing that resembles a snake with a huge head}

COACH Z: I think she's lookin' pretty good!

STRONG BAD: I said consummate V's! CONSUMMATE!!! Geez. {walks away muttering} Guy wouldn't know majesty if it came up and bit him in the face.

COACH Z: {offscreen} That happened once!

{Cut to Strong Mad. He is using an X-Acto Knife to carve the word 'DAGRON' into the table.}

STRONG BAD: Strong Mad. You just, keep doing your thing, man.

{Cut to Strong Sad, who has drawn a masterpiece.}

STRONG BAD: Oh, crap! I didn't know you were doing one.

STRONG SAD: Oh, sure. I think I've improved on your methods a bit, too. {zoom in on his picture} I employed some chiaroscuro shading, and&mdash; {cut back to Strong Sad and Strong Bad}

STRONG BAD: I'll improve on your methods!!

{Strong Bad takes out his BMW Lighter and sets Strong Sad's picture aflame. It quickly disintegrates with hardly a trace.}

STRONG SAD: What?! {pauses} That's not an improvement!

STRONG BAD: BWA HA HA HA!! Trogdor strikes again!

{Cut to black and white pencil-drawn scene of Trogdor. Rock music is playing in the background.}

STRONG BAD: {screaming} TROGDOR!!! TROGDOR!!! {singing} Trogdor was a man! I mean, he was a dragon-man! Er, maybe he was just a dragon. Um... But he was still TROGDOR!!!! TROGDOR!!!! Burninating the countryside! Burninating the peasants! Burninating all the people! In their thatched-roof COTTAGES!!! THATCHED-ROOF COTTAGES!!

{Cut to Compy 386.}

STRONG BAD: And the Trogdor comes in the NIIIIIIIIIIIIGHT!!!!!

{The Paper comes down.}

:HOMSAR: {Sadly} I do what I'm told...

Fun Facts
Explanations
*Chiaroscuro is a method for creating the illusion of a three-dimensional solid form in a two-dimensional piece of artwork through the use of contrasting areas of light and dark. Literally "lightdark" in Italian.

Trivia
*The Brothers Chaps say this email took the longest to make in an interview with Kevin Scott.
*Strong Bad writes "TROGDOR the BURNiNATOR" using a lowercase "i" because the font that The Brothers Chaps used doesn't have a capital "I."
*The summary on the Podstar Runner RSS feed for this video says "Strong Bad starts a bad drawing revolution."

Remarks
*Even though the BMW lighter's flame is close to the table, the table never catches fire.
*The Homsar easer egg automatically plays (between Strong Mad and Strong Sad) during the email in the Podstar Runner version.

Goofs
*As noted in the DVD commentary (see below), Coach Z's drawing faces a different direction in the close-up from the previous scene.
**This same situation also applies to Strong Sad's drawing.
*When Strong Bad is drawing Trogdor's majesty, for a moment we can see that Strong Bad's arm is floating, unattached to anything.
*When Strong Bad types "Let's see how the others are doing", he leaves out the word "see."

Glitches
*There is a small area above Coach Z's medallion that you can see through.

Inside References
*"And the Trogdor comes in the NIIIIIIIIIIIIIIGHHHHHHHHT!!!!!!!" is a reference to the email guitar, where Strong Bad says "dragon" instead of "Trogdor".
*Homsar having a roll of masking tape next to him is a reference to the Strong Sad Blog, where he is "holding" a roll of tape in the background of his e-vite.
*The X-Acto Knife that Strong Mad uses is the same one that Strong Bad uses in the email flag day.
*The first few chords of the Trogdor song are quite similar to the melody of Strong Bad's email song in property of ones.

Real-World References
*Homsar's "drawing" says Taster's Choice, a popular coffee from Nescafe.
*"Kaiser" is the ultimate dragon form of the hero in the Breath of Fire series of video games. Since The Brothers Chaps have stated that all of the emails except mile are authentic, this is either a coincidence, or the email writer was a fan of this series.

Fast Forward
*Exactly three years after this email came out, Happy Trogday was released, which celebrated Trogdor's third birthday.

DVD Version
*The Homsar Easter egg is automatically enabled, no selecting required.
*The DVD version features hidden creators' commentary. To access it, switch your DVD player's audio language selection while watching.

Commentary Transcript
(Commentary by: Mike Chapman, Matt Chapman)

MIKE: This is one of the least popular emails we've ever done.

MATT: Yeah. Everybody hates it.

MIKE: Uh, this one took a really long time, and I remember, not, like—

MATT: Yeah, you wanted to abandon it. Like, we were three-quarters of the way done—

MIKE: This is one—

MATT: —and you wanted to start over.

MIKE: It was... we just—it's very long, and I felt—I dunno. When you're in the middle of it, sometimes it's hard to tell.

MATT: I wonder, though, if we had just, let's say we cut out the whole Trogdor metal thing at the end, if people would, like, if it's Trogdor, just this dr—bad drawing of a dragon or if it's the metal and the, like, drawings

MIKE: I think it's th—mostly the metal.

MATT: That's what I'm sayin'.

MIKE: Yeah.

MATT: So it'd be funny if we hadn't done that at the end or if we'd made it an Easter egg even, so less people saw it.

MIKE: So this is, uh, you know, we learned to draw the Ed Emberley way.

MATT: And later the Marvel Comics way.

MIKE: {laughs} That's true. Um...

MATT: That thing is unholy. {Mike starts laughing again} True. It's horrible. We always find ourselves humming this song that's in the background.

MIKE: Doo doo doot doot, see I'm doing it again.

MATT: Uh, what is a tincidence! What is a tincidence, Mike?

MIKE: Um... uh so yeah, the- this email, we're, it went up late Monday at probably, i dunno, 4 or 5 o'clock on Monday we were pretty much done with the whole email and Matt started singing the Trogdor song in this squealy—

MATT: {in squealy voice} Trogdor!

MIKE: —in the squealy voice and so then we sort of knew we had to make the Trogdor metal song and then when we made the Trogdor metal song we had to make all the...fancy-shaded Tro—uh, Trogdor drawings for the video.

MATT: And then didn't Trogdor, the name Trogdor the Burn—I think it was just, like, we decided he had to name him and just, like, it just came out, like, there was no deciding.

MIKE: {simultaneously, overlapping} Yeah, you just came up with it. There was no, like thought—yeah, right.

MATT: The drawing of Trogdor took a while. Took some...

MIKE: Yeah. And if you watch there, his thing flips.

MATT: What happened?

MIKE: Coach Z's drawing—well there, his head's on the left, but in the closeup the head's on the right.

MATT: Ohhhh.

MIKE: I mean, Coach Z's left, and Coach Z's right.

MATT: Right. Dagron.

MIKE: Dagron. He's misspelled the word "dragon." There's everybody's favorite. He's correctly spelled the words "Taster's Choice."

MATT: {laughs a little, then a pause} That's a good drawing, Mike. We still have those.

MIKE: Yep.

MATT: There's the BMW—the, the ever-present BMW lighter. Didn't we say we had some, some people we met that said they tried really hard to find one.

MIKE: Oh yeah.

MATT: And they don't exist in real life, so we apologize.

MIKE: So... I don't know how these drawings are going to look on your TV screen.

MATT: Yeah.

MIKE: All made big like this. They might look kind of pixelly and gross, but...

MATT: I'm, uh, I don't regret it, though, if they look pixelly and gross.

MIKE: No, we did that on purpose!

MATT: {laughs a little} Yes.

MIKE: You can see in the smoke of the flaming peasant's head, it just kind of—there's a straight line at the top of the smoke. It just kind of stops and that's from the edge of the page. It's just—

MATT: Oh really?

MIKE: Yeah. You can't see it—yeah, you can see just how it stops

MATT: {simultaneously} Oh there we go, I see.

MIKE: Yeah.

MATT: And so, of course, later this all became Peasant's Quest fodder.

Strong Bad Email Statistics

Chimpdudex: unnessary comma

With more and more Strong Bad Emails released on the Homestar Runner website, it is hard to keep track of all the statistics, such as which computer was used the most, or how the length of emails has increased throughout the years. To correctly calculate those numbers, a few charts and graphs have been made for the ease of the people who like to know everything about Strong Bad and his emails.

<h2 style="clear: both;">Strong Bad Email By Length</h2>
This section involves data taken from the list Strong Bad Email By Length.

*The scatter plot shows a fairly strong positive correlation between Email Number and Email Length. The r value between these two variables without deleting outliers is .7257.
**An r value of 1 would indicate a perfect, positive correlation. A value of -1 indicates a perfect, negative correlation. Therefore, .7257 indicates a fairly strong, positive correlation.
*This plot shows there are a handful of clear outliers which are likely affecting the correlation. In the plot below, the outliers have been removed. A Least Squares Regression Line (LSRL) has also been added.
**The outliers were defined as those emails with a residual value of 65 or greater, or -65 or less.

*The LSRL can be used to extrapolate, or guess the length of future emails. The r value of this line is .8483.
**The equation for the LSRL is y = 1.2702x + 47.674. y = Time (seconds); x = Email number
*This method of guessing is not 100% accurate, since it is unlikely the emails will ever be, say, 20 minutes long. This equation should not be considered a foolproof method for guessing the length of an email, but it does give a nice idea of what the average length of an email is at a given point in time.

<h2 style="clear: both;">Strong Bad Email By Era</h2>

This section involves data on the computer used to answer each email, or the "era" of the computer. The categories are Tandy 400, Broken Tandy, Compy 386, Lappy 486, and Other. (So far, other is Pom Pilot and Tangerine Dreams)

Total Time Spent Using Each Computer
This section involves data taken from the Strong Bad Email by Length page. The chart recognizes four categories of computers: Tandy 400 (includes Broken Tandy), Lappy 486, Compy 386, and Other.

Strong Bad Emails Featuring More Than One Email
Several Strong Bad Emails feature more than one email.
*huttah! &mdash; 7 emails
*spring cleaning &mdash; 5 emails
Intervals Between Strong Bad Emails
Strong Bad Emails are released at varying frequencies. The graph on the right shows the number of days in between the release of an email.
Here is a summary of the data:
* Mean: 11.45 days
* Median: 7 days
* Mode: 7 days &mdash; 69 emails came out 7 days after the previous release
* Minimum: 4 days &mdash; There were 4 days between the releases of brianrietta and i love you as well as ghosts and theme party
* Maximum: 71 days &mdash; There were 71 days between the releases of halloweener and brianrietta

Note: Data are not complete. Reliable dates are not available for homsar, butt IQ, homestar hair, making out, and depressio. These data are as of May 8, 2006.

Other Information
*42% of all emails have no location given; 2% have no return sender at all.
*The average email is 1.77 sentences long; the average cartoon is 149.28 seconds long.
*The Brothers Chaps most frequently choose emails with sender names starting with J or S. Together these senders make up a whopping 26.67% of all emails. This may be an indicator of popular names in the world, not an indication of TBC preference.
*Only 18% of all emails are longer than two sentences. Only one email longer than four sentences has ever been used.
* There are four substantiated claims of Strong Bad answering an e-mail from a Wiki or Wiki forum user. These e-mails are montage (sent by Porplemontage), animal (sent by Kerrek slaya), portrait (sent by NachoMan) and space program (sent by <span class="plainlinks">Ryan Sturmer</span>).
