==Transcribing Interviews==

:Alright, I've tentatively moved all the 'Links' Interviews here, haven't sorted them yet though, to which were origionally Radio, Website, ect. But anyways, they're there, from what I can tell the 'Inkhole' one is down, (hence the reason to get them doubled up here). So basically, we just copy and paste the dialouge onto the new pages for them, censor some words, add a few Fun Facts, tidbits of info revealed by the Interview, ect. I'll try and help with this if I ever get time off. And so once this is all up and running, we can delete those from the 'Links' page, and use it to somehow clean up the 'Sightings' page somewhat. How does everbody feel about this? Any comments/concerns/questions? I'd love to hear from you. Heck, I don't even know if I'm doing this right... (Coder, I'm not sure either, but we'd already done it with the 'Pulse Interview', ect. Plus doesn't it fall under the same catagory of Mirroring a toon? We have those. ::It's not exactly the same territory as mirroring a toon. I think, by now, it's safe to assume that the Bros. Chaps are aware of mirroring of H*R content and they haven't had a problem with it yet that I've heard of. Other websites are untested. Some of these websites might want to keep the interviews as their own, exclusive content. For instance, a site that has ads would want you to visit their actual page rather than read the content here. :::Here's you're legal advice (but note that I'm Canadian so things might vary in the states): You'll have to checkthe Terms of Use and the Privacy Policy, and any other Legal Notices on the site. 1.If '''''anywhere''''' on the site does it say that a exclusive content is their property and cannot be copied, than y must link to the actual site. 2.If it also says that they do not want anyone linking to their site (I've seen it happen), than you're out of luck. However, if the information is not exclusive, but every ''directly'' involved party has restriction 1 than you must link to one of their sites. If they all contain both restrictions 1&2, youare out of luck. But, if one of the parties DO NOT state restriction 1, than you may copy/mirror their content under fair use, as long as you are not profiting spicificly from that content. Also, if all the links pointing to the content you wish to mirror has be removed for a period of time (I believe it is 2 years but I may be wrong), than I believe you may be legally allowed to mirror the content no matter what the policies state. ::I'm pretty sure that even if a copyright isn't explicitly stated, the interviews and other content are property of the creator. Therefore, the works are protected by copyright pursuant to U.S. and international copyright laws. It would be legal, in my estimation, to download a copy for one's personal use, but I think publishing a copy on another website does not fall into "personal use". I think it is necessary that we send an email to their webmaster and/or the author asking for permission. (Just make sure you tell everyone on the talk page if send one, so they don't get half a dozen emails.)

:Actually, since the last two I've asked BOTH said no, that did occur to me. In fact, I had already decided that once I finished this section (I have the tasks itemised on my userpage) I was gonna add an extra section to all the interviews pages, perhaps called 'Highlights' or something, and breifly point out the insights that we get from the interview, an overview of the timeperiod, ect. Glad to see we're on the same page. This section has been in dis-repair too long. I'm on a crusade to finish it, hopefully within a week or two. I'm still working on getting all the pages up and running, cut the red tape and all, and mainly figuring out how to get the 'red' interviews, the ones where the links don't work. ==Finishing Up The Page==

I recently went over all known interviews again, the ones I couldn't get ahold of before I reasked and everything, hopefully this time around they'll all answer, and we can get this section finished. In any case, I made up stub pages for all the copyrighted interviews. If anybody wants to get to work on the only remaining interview, go ahead. :Okay, last remaining interview is transcribed. Now we need standardization, and transcription of [[NYU Talk - 1 Mar 2005]]. We need the censored pages finished, I think there's one or two that need the treatment. And we need some kind of transcript standard. This email was originally released as a two-parter, and was re-released a week later as a single email. The following were added or changed from the original:
* The Lappy's comma key is now missing throughout the toon. Originally, the key was present in part A when the Compy and Tandy are holding the Lappy hostage but was missing in part B when Strong Bad gets it back.
* The Tandy's screen now intermittently flashes with static while Strong Bad is checking its email.
* Part A ended with the zoom-in on the Compy 386 (as the suspenseful music played). The Paper came down with a message that read, "To Be Continued Tomorrow!". Part B picked up with Strong Bad sitting at the Compy. When the two parts were combined, The Paper was removed, and a transition in and out of black now splices the two halves.
* Also removed were the "back" link at the end of part A and the "loading" screen at the beginning of part B. This is notable because even though the "back" link was on the Compy, it was written in the Lappy's font, and the "loading" screen on part B was written in the Compy's font.
* Clicking on the Compy's contrast dial creates some sparking effects.
* A gear in the Compy now turns as Strong Bad types.
* An extra scene featuring Strong Sad in Strong Bad's carnival tent was added.
* When Strong Bad attempts to type commas in his closing remarks, commas no longer appear and instead a dull tapping sound is heard.
* An Easter egg featuring the King of Town's act in Strong Bad's carnival tent was added.

== When Worlds Collide ==

I think that it's great that TMBG & The Brothers Chaps got together because they're all geniuses in their fields with similar sensibilties that makes their work so compatible, introducing so many fans of one or the other to a new world of entertainment.

There was, of course already an overlap in the fanbase prior to TMBG & h*r's collaberations. Via SBEmail and even more so the Experimental Film video and the Puppet Jams, a lot of Homestar fans were introduced to TMBG and a lot of TMBG fans were introduced to Homestar Runner. I was one of the latter, having watched my first toon, SBEmail #99 in March '04 after receiving a TMBG e-mail newsletter inviting me to do just that.

Well before the Experimental Film video came around, I had watched every toon on the site.

Ye Flask is introduced in the [[Strong Bad Email]] [[video games]], an email where Strong Bad is explaining what he would be like in several different types of video games, one of which is a text adventure. Ye flask is mentioned as an example of the quirks of the text adventure genre – attempts to get ye flask resulted only in the message "You can't get ye flask", even though ye flask is explicitly mentioned as part of the surroundings by the game, leaving the player wondering why on earth they can't get Ye Flask.

Ye Flask later becomes part of the Thy Dungeonman games. Ye flask is something of an obsessive fixation for Thy Dungeonman, as he has been searching for it his entire thy dungeonlife through years of searching and hundreds of dungeons.

===Thy Dungeonman I===

Thy Dungeonman first meets Ye Flask in the first [[Thy Dungeonman]] game. In it, Ye Flask looks as if it can "quaff some serious mead". Just like in video games, ye flask is (at least at first) impossible to obtain. However, there is at least an explanation for ''why'' the player can't get ye flask, so the player isn't left wondering why on earth he can't get ye flask; ye flask is firmly bolted onto to a wall (which is bolted to the rest of the dungeon which is probably bolted to a castle). However, upon trying the third time to get Ye Flask Thy Dungeonman is able to unbolt, which results in the collapse of the dungeon because it was a "Load-bearing flask". Oddly enough, Ye Flask in this game is never actually refered to as "Ye Flask". However, it is called "a FLASK", "the FLASK", "yon FLASK", and "a load-bearing FLASK"

===Thy Dungeonman II===

Ye Flask plays a very minor role in [[Thy Dungeonman II]]. Every time the command "GET YE FLASK" is used, you earn several points, whether or not you've already gotten ye Flask. However, the first time you get ye flask you must be in the Magistate's office.

In [[Thy Dungeonman 3]], the entire game is based around trying to get Ye Flask, which resides in a mysterious dungeon. It is impossible to grab Ye Flask without a proper Flask-grabbing glove, because otherwise Thy Dungeonman is simply transported back to the crossroads in the beginning of the game.

Upon getting Ye Flask and winning the game, it becomes Thy Dungeonman's favorite companion and drinking flask. He ends up choosing it over maidens several times, and lives a fulfilling life with his Ye Flask friend by his side.
