Please forgive me if the deed was rash, but I moved the page to capitolize "The Cheat" in the title.
TBC is ambigous on this, they say "Where's the Cheat" in the toon itelf, but "Where's The Cheat" on the toons menu. What tipped my scale was the pervasive capitolizing and name-izing of "The" in "The Cheat" everywhere else, as though "The" is not used as an indefinate article at all.

Hey, well this is pretty ridiculous and nit-picky, but I don't think there's a contraction in the original title of this cartoon. Perhaps the name could be changed to "Where is the Cheat?"

:::While I have to thank you for your nice compliments, I seriously don't think I'm ready to become a sysop right now. Sysops are the guys that are always on HRWiki talk pages coming up with new ideas, discussing and later carrying out new projects. They're the guys that have to be able to talk calmly and rationally with vandals and people that don't always agree with their policies. They know the ins and outs of this Wiki, and they work hard at keeping the Wiki clean and functioning. While I may have created all those pages and made all those edits, I really feel that I'm just not experienced enough to be a sysop, and I truly don't know if I'll ever be, especially now that I don't have as much time to Wiki as I used to. I'm content with just working on the sidelines and doing my part to make this Wiki as good as it can be. Being a sysop would be majorly cool, but it's probably too much responsibility for a kid like me.

== A Song From The Sixties? ==

Can anyone come up with song references from Homsar's speeches? 'Gravy train' could be a reference to Pink Floyd's 'Have a Cigar' but maybe it's just some of his home-spun wisdom. Also, not a direct quote, but 'a million ladies tall' feels sort of like 'half a century high' ala Phil Ochs. Just some random stabs here, it seemed a lot more cohesive in my mind.
:"Gravy Train" is a common phrase meaning getting a lot of money (or something along those lines. Also, Have a Cigar was written in 1975, so it's clearly not a song from the sixties.

== A Hypothesis About Homsar's Behavior ==

I have a hypothesis concerning why Homsar behaves the way he does.

I believe that Homsar was drafted and sent to Vietnam in the late sixties ("I'm a song from the sixties." could be a reference to this because many songs in the sixties were about the war in Vietnam) and there he witnessed some horrible things that resulted in a dreadful case of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). To escape his flashbacks after retuning home he began taking copious amounts of LSD and rapidly became psychologically dependant on it. After a decade or so of this heavy use, Homsar cleaned himself up; but the side effects from the long-term LSD use compounded by his PTSD cause him to be detached from reality much to this day in the form of incorrect visual identification of objects, mental incongruity, and flashbacks to Vietnam (explaining Homsar's frequent screaming episodes).

Some might argue with me about my analysis, saying that Homsar is simply retarded. I admit to you that this might be tempting to say, but if he were truly retarded many of the pop culture references Homsar makes would be near impossible because most forms of retardation limit the individual's vocabulary for such things; and furthermore, retardation does not often result in rampant grammatical structure disjunction and word misapplication, as seen in Homsar's case, especially when compared to the symptoms seen in long-term LSD ex-users.

I'd go with a merge, except I disagree that it "has a mind of its own," because it always seems to follow a particular logic to its flight paths (or orbit) from and back to Homsar's head. I think it usually "takes flight" when Homsar is trying to emphasize something, which is pretty much every time he says anything. Just opening this thread to discuss the phrase "Nonsense incarnate" (Homsar is nonsense incarnate). My understanding is that "Person is X incarnate" is grammatically correct, and that it means the concept X is embodied in Person. The most common real-life use of this phrasing I'm aware of is "Person is the Devil incarnate" - usually to refer to an unruly child, a particularly heinous criminal, etc. I have, however, NEVER heard the phrase "Person is the Devil incarnated" (past-tense). == Word Salads ==

Since I couldn't find the place where we discussed this previously, I'll bring it up again here. I have an issue with the Speech section stating that Homsar speaks in "word salads". The description of word salad in that section is totally correct, but I don't think it applies to Homsar's general speech. The only time I've seen word salads connected with Homsar has been in [[interview]], where Strong Bad was basically mocking Homsar with a pen puppet. "DaAa, Rightio. I think I can twice" is probably the best word salad on the site, and that was Strong Bad making that up, not Homsar actually saying it.

Generally speaking, Homsar's statements are less gibberish and more out-of-context. Aside from his first two appearances ([[homsar]] and [[Marzipan's Answering Machine Version 5.0]]), virtually everything he's said has made some sort of sense, but it's rare that two sentences relate to each other, or that a statement to another character matches the context of what the other character said. This isn't quite "word salad", however.

Reggie Mantle, from Archie Comics, is also highly self-centered, loving himself more than he loves women, carrying a mirror around with him so he can admire himself, buying expensive cars to be popular - so connecting Strong Bad to Reggie Mantle makes a relative degree of sense.

Another thing. He looks to me like he has a bit of an evil expression on his face that I noticed tonight (however, I am in a kind of fevery haze right now). I should point out that the rope's ''center of mass'' should be at ten feet. The rope is therefore 20 feet long (assuming uniform density). Also, by counting ten periods while looking at my clock, the rope swings every 3.7 seconds, not 3.4 seconds which means it's 22 feet long if you trust some extra significant figures. I tried measuring the angle of the rope as it swings, to find out where the pivot actually is, it comes to about 9ft give or take a foot or so (assuming that the distance between each knot is about foot and a half - I took SS and Coach Z as being about 6ft tall as a base measurement and worked from there. Also it depends on the accuracy of the angle measurements - one pixel either way can have a foot or two different answer). This calculation is complete crap. The formula for the period of a pendulum assumes a weight at the end of a massless string. This formula doesn't apply to massive ropes without weights on the end. The physics of the two situations is quite different, for example a hanging massive string makes a hyperbolic cosine while a weighted massive string makes a parabola.

He's definitely saying something; it's not just mumbling. I can make out VERY CLEARLY, "I'm an ????? man", and having listened to it over and over, the third word is either "honorable" or "horrible", and it sounds more like "honorable" to me. ==Are Infintesimally Small Imperfections Really Goofs?==
I think it's a very bad idea to set the precedent that very very small color differences are somehow goofs worth noting. I'm sure if we looked hard enough, we could find numerous "goofs" of that sort in every single cartoon. :I dunno. This one I find kinda interesting. TBC have been making toons for a while now. They're not what you would call novices. They have the tools and the talent to get it right at this stage of the game. It's not like those old ''Scooby-Doo'' cartoons. You know, where the trap door stands out because it's painted in a slightly different color of blue from the rest of the floor. In that case, the door and the floor were created using two completely different means, so it was almost impossible to get right. In the case of this toon, however, getting the color right should just have been a matter of selecting the eyedropper tool and choosing the background. The background was hand painted on some paper or cardboard, then, celluloids with painted characters were overlaid on top of it and animated. The background was not animated, except for panning and zooming. The paint used on cells was different and had different reflectivity index than the background. The background also had more texture and shadowing than the animated parts on cells, which were painted with uniform, unshaded colors. So that made the traps on walls and the floor very obvious. :I used to think the same thing. I even went so far as to change it, until I realized that, like everything in Free Country, USA, the Athletic Field's appearance has changed over the years. Once a very bright green and quite cartoony, it has now taken on the characteristics of the Field. In fact, according to Bubs' Yearbook Page (and supported by [[different town]], if it can be trusted), the Athletic Field is very close to the concession stand, which actually puts it ''in'' the Field. Coach Z says "Never you mind" to Strong Sad, which is also the reply that you would get from "Thy Dungeonman" if you type "Get Flask". Does anyone else think that it is a valid connection? The edit was deleted, and I'm just curious to see what other people might think.

I was think about it:
The easter egg showing homsar holding the rope really created more questions than it answered as to what the rope attached to. Namely:

* Can Homsar support the weight of strong sad with his mouth? (did he think he could?, did he think at all?)

* Did Coach Z give the rope to him to hold? did he see homsar there and bring the rope to him? Did he just find the rope hanging down and decide to have people climb it?

* How is Homsar even there?

Well I think the last one is answered.
In Narrator we see him floating mid air in a brief clip of one of these "up coming movies" so it's possible that he just has the power to fly (mabye it's why his hat always flies off but returns) and so he simply flew up there and held the rope but just rarely uses this power (or at least of what we see of him)
