'''STRONG BAD:''' ''{singing}'' This email is making fun of you.

<blockquote class="lappy email">
<div>subject: Bottom 10</div>
To Weak Bad<br>
What is your bottom 10?
<br>
From someone stronger than you</blockquote>

'''STRONG BAD:''' Oh man, this person made all kinds of typos. Lemme type this...

''{He changes "Weak Bad" to "Strong Bad".}''

'''STRONG BAD:''' They forgot this...

''{He adds "the Good Dancer" after "Strong Bad".}''

'''STRONG BAD:''' They got this wrong...

''{He changes "Someone stronger than you" to "Someone that is ''a girl''" with the phrase "a girl" italicized and in pink.}''

'''STRONG BAD:''' Ah, there we go! ''{typing}'' Oh, Simone! You seem like a ''{in pink}'' ''really'' nice girl, so I'll answer your question ''{in pink}'' ''relatively'' free of charge. "Strong Bad's Bottom 10" is as follows:

''{Cut to Strong Badia. The "Strong Bad's Bottom 10" Logo flies in from the top of the screen.}''

'''STRONG BAD:''' Number Ten is easy. Dry T-Shirt Contests.

''{A Dry T-Shirt contest flyer for J. Stumblers Bar and Sometimes Grill flies in from the top.}''

'''STRONG BAD:''' You'll never find a more degrading contest or a larger waste of not water.

''{The flyer flies away.}''

'''STRONG BAD:''' Creeping in at Numba Nine is that horrible painting that's been in Strong Mad's closet since we were little.

''{Dramatic music starts playing, and we cut to the door of Strong Mad's closet. Strong Bad is there, sliding the door open slowly.}''

'''HORRIBLE PAINTING:''' ''{menacing, under its breath}'' Come on in heeeeere.

''{Strong Bad screams and slams the door. He begins flailing around, uttering "jibblie" over and over, almost incoherently. Cut back to Strong Badia.}''

'''STRONG BAD:''' Incidentally, the jibblies currently occupy Slot number Eleven ''{numbers ten and nine shift up to show'' <nowiki>*</nowiki>11. The Jibblies <nowiki>*</nowiki>Not in bottom 10 ''in gray}'' on my Bottom 10. ''{Number eleven slides out of frame. Ten and nine return to their former positions.}'' Numboo Eight is the one you should ''all'' pay close attention to: Emails with more than one "Fwd:" or "Re:" ''{pronounces "fwd" and "re" as written}'' in the Subject line.

''{Cut to the computer room. Strong Bad is preparing to answer an email.}''

'''STRONG BAD:''' Back out of my way, so I can check some email.

''{Strong Bad presses enter, and the email appears. However, the subject line fills up the screen, consisting entirely of "Fwd:" and "Re:". The subject line continues scrolling while Strong Bad talks.}''

'''STRONG BAD:''' Oh, great. Let me guess: ''{in a mocking voice}'' "It's true! You saw it on the news!" Or, "Hey, sounds crazy, but thought it was worth a shot!"

''{Cut back to Strong Badia.}''

'''STRONG BAD:''' Yeah, a shot in the face, maybe. Now, Seven is something that's been going on for ''way'' too long. Miniaturized versions of already bite-sized food.

''{An ad for Fluffy Puff Marshmallows appears.}''

'''MARSHIE:''' Yowza! Guess who birfday<!-- Yes, it's birfday. Listen closer if you think it's not. --> it is! ''{a question mark appears}'' Mine!

''{The lights suddenly go out, and Marshie winces in pain as the noise of an electric shock plays. A miniature Marshie walks onto the screen, with Homsar's movement noise.}''

'''NIBBLES:''' ''{Marshie appears to be getting mad during the time Nibbles is saying this}'' Sorry, Marshie, but it's ''my'' birfday. I'm one years old. My name's Nibbles, for new Fluffy Puff Marshmallows bite-si&mdash;

'''ANNOUNCER:''' ''{cutting Off Nibbles}'' All-new Fluffy Puff Bite-Size Nibblers are perfect for newborn-type babies ''{a baby emerges from a mountain of Nibblers, and then ducks back down}'', and scalding hot chocolate ''{pull back to reveal the marshmallows atop a cup of hot chocolate, which catches on fire}''. No more mouth strain with Fluffy Puff Nibblers!

''{A mouth is shown straining at a full-size marshmallow. The caption reads "You Got Mouth Strain?" with a red circle and line "no" symbol drawn through it. The symbol rolls away as the marshmallow changes to a Nibbler. The mouth smiles and the caption reads "Heck No!!"}''

'''NIBBLES:''' I make good earplugs, too.

'''MARSHIE:''' ''{Flies onto the screen and knocks Nibbles away.}'' Get out of here, you little runt! ''{Marshie winces again, causing the electrical shock noise to return. The commercial suddenly pauses, and PAUSE appears on the bottom-left corner of the screen.}''

''{Cut back to Strong Badia.}''

'''STRONG BAD:''' And-a Numba Six-a: the Foul Stench of Wet The Cheat.

''{Cut to The Field. The Cheat is standing there, soaked and shivering. Next to him, is a ladder, a cup, and a sign that says "HIGH DIVES &ndash; 5 bucks." Cut back to Strong Badia.}''

'''STRONG BAD:''' And number Five, um... not... ''{music stops}'' pigeons. ''{a pigeon starts cooing}'' They eat breadcrumbs. Take craps on people. Funny stuff. NUMBER FOUR! ''{music plays again}'' There was this one time where I had to hug a tree.

''{Cut to the field. Strong Bad and Homestar are there, and Strong Bad is hugging a tree.}''

'''HOMESTAR RUNNER:''' Keeeep ooon huggin' it.

'''STRONG BAD:''' How did you get me to do this in the first place?

'''HOMESTAR RUNNER:''' Hug it! Hug it!

'''STRONG BAD:''' And why do I continue to do it?

'''HOMESTAR RUNNER:''' Keep on huggin' it. Hug it down.

'''STRONG BAD:''' I don't even like this tree that much.

''{Cut back to Strong Badia.}''

'''STRONG BAD:''' Ooh, now we're getting to the good ones. Number Three is the ridiculous trend of giving chocolate desserts dangerous names. You know, like, Chocolardiac Arrest. ''{a picture of Chocolardiac Arrest appears}''

'''LADY:''' ''{Voice}'' Oh, that looks ''sinful.''

'''STRONG BAD:''' Or... THIS BROWNIE MIGHT KILL YOU. ''{a picture of said brownie appears}''

'''LADY:''' ''{Voice}'' Oh, this is so ''rich.''

'''STRONG BAD:''' Or, quite possible the least appetizing name of all time... Chocozuma's Revenge! ''{a picture of Chocozuma's Revenge appears}''

'''LADY:''' ''{Voice}'' This is all fat-free, right?

'''STRONG BAD:''' Shut up, lady! ''{the pictures slide off the top of the screen}'' Slumming in at Number Two are songs that try to pass off la la's, na na's, and doot do's as legit lyrics. As evidenced in Limozeen's bizarrely titled "Feed The Childrens." ''{the album art of "Feed The Childrens" appears}''

<div id="Feed_The_Childrens">
'''LIMOZEEN SOLO:''' <br>
Na, na, la la laaaaa,<br>
Hey, hey! Doo-doot doo! <small>[[#Footnote|[1]]]</small><br>
Na, na, la la laaaaa,<br>
Hey, hey! Doo-doot doo!

'''LIMOZEEN:''' <br>
Na, na, la la laaaaa,<br>
Hey, hey! Doo-doot doo!
<div>

''{A record scratches, the song stops, and the album art slides off the screen}''

'''STRONG BAD:''' Ugh, what were they thinking? More like, "We need to feed our children, so we made this terrible song." And, the Number One item on Strong Bad's Bottom 10 is Th&mdash;

'''HOMESTAR RUNNER:''' Hey Strong Bad. ''{camera zooms out to a two-shot of Homestar and Strong Bad}'' What about my bottom&mdash;

'''STRONG BAD:''' ''{interrupting}'' Nobody wants to hear ''your'' bottom 10, Homestar.

'''HOMESTAR RUNNER:''' No, no. Not my Bottom 10. My bottom! You know, ''{turns around and starts doing a buttdance, singing}'' buttdance again, like the rhythm's down your pants now!

''{Homestar stops and turns around again, looking on in confusion as Strong Bad begins to make vomiting noises. Cut to the Lappy, which has the Bottom 10 displayed, where Strong Bad then vomits onto his keyboard, off camera.}''

'''STRONG BAD:''' Oooh. Ugh. ''{weakly}'' And the Number One item on Strong Bad's Bottom 10 is... Th ''{typing}'' cleaning up your own puke off the keyboard. ''{clears the screen}'' Simone, that'll be $7.50. And bring some paper towels. Eww. And some tweezers. I think I see a Fluffy Puff Nibblin in there.

''{[[The Paper]] comes down. After about fourteen seconds, the cursor reappears and Strong Bad continues:}''

'''STRONG BAD''': ''{weakly}'' No, there's no Easter eggs. I... I'm not up to it. Go away.

===Footnote===
# This line, and the ones like it, may be "Hey, hey! Doot doo!"

===Strong Bad's Bottom 10===
*The bottom 10 as typed on the Lappy:

<blockquote class="lappy email">
1. Thcleaning up your own puke off the keyboard<br />
2. Songs that try to pass off la la's, na na's, and doot do's<br />
&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;as legit lyrics<br />
3. Giving chocloate <!--sic--> desserts dangerous names<br />
4. There was this one time I had to hug a tree<br />
5. Um...not pigeons<br />
6. Foul stench of wet The Cheat<br />
7. Miniaturized versions of already bite-sized food<br />
8. Emails with more than 1 fwd: or re: in the subject line<br />
9. That horrible painting in Strong Mad's closet<br />
10. Dry t-shirt contests</blockquote>

===Explanations===
*An email forwarded because it was "on the news" or "worth a shot" is a reference to a myriad of urban legends, or chain letters, in particular the [[Snopes:inboxer/nothing/billgate.asp|something-for-nothing forward hoax]].
*"Miniaturized versions of already bite-sized food" include such items as Ritz [http://www.nabiscoworld.com/ritzbits/ Bits], M&M's [http://www.mms.com/us/about/products/mmsminis/ Minis], Hershey's Bites, and M&M/Mars' Pop'ables.
* Real life "songs that try to pass off la la's, na na's, and doot do's as legit lyrics" include "[http://www.songfacts.com/detail.lasso?id=713 Na Na Hey Hey Kiss Him Goodbye]" by [[Wikipedia:Steam (band)|Steam]], "[[Wikipedia:Hey Jude|Hey Jude]]" by [[The Beatles]], and "[[Wikipedia:Shooting Star (Bad Company song)|Shooting Star]]" by [[Wikipedia:Bad Company|Bad Company]]. <!--we could have a hundred examples here; please keep it to these three-->
*Limozeen's song is likely a reference on the recent [[Wikipedia:Live 8|Live 8]] or older [[Wikipedia:Live Aid|Live Aid]] concerts/albums. The title "Feed the Childrens" is also similar to the "Feed the Children" songs played at these events.
*Chocolate desserts with dangerous names include desserts like [http://www.apricot.com/Food/DeathByChocolate.html Death by Chocolate], [http://www.aswaseattle.com/images/DA_ChocolateSuicide.jpg Chocolate Suicide], and [http://www.recipesource.com/desserts/chocolate/01/rec0144.html Chocolate Avalanche]. <!--we could have a hundred examples here; please keep it to these three-->

===Trivia===
*When viewing the Flash file, the sign on Strong Mad's closet reads "STRONG MAD RD."
*This is the first email without any clickable Easter eggs since Email #39, [[property of ones]].
*The label on the disk in the floppy disk container reads "[[Floppy Disk Container#wraith|wraith]]".

===Remarks===
*One of the two brownies pictured in Chocozuma's Revenge is [[Food Still In Peel or Package|still inside its wrapper]]. The [[pudding]] on top is also still in its container.
*Strong Bad possibly makes a grammatical error when he writes "la la's, na na's, and doot do's:" the use of apostrophes makes these words possessive, not plural, unless their coherence is threatened by the apostrophes' absence.
*Strong Bad tried to pass off nonsense words as legit lyrics in [[secret recipes]], [[local news]], [[action figure]], [[stupid stuff]], [[monument]], and [[colonization]] (Easter egg).
*Strong Bad can type with puke on his keyboard.
*Strong Bad refers to email with more than one "Fwd:" or "Re:" in the subject line. While this was once a common annoyance, many modern email clients and web email services are sophisticated enough to not prepend these to the subject line if already there.
*Strong Bad [[Fourth Wall Breaks|breaks the fourth wall]] by telling the audience that there are no Easter eggs.
*Strong Bad's opening song, "This email is making fun of you...", is rather ironic considering the subsequent email is making fun of Strong Bad.
*After puking, Strong Bad says that he sees a "Fluffy Puff Nibblin in there." However, in the earlier commercial, the small Fluffy Puffs were named Fluffy Puff Nibblers.

===Goofs===
*When you click on the Lappy's screen, no ripples come up.
*When you see Strong Bad's list on his normal computer screen in the background, "chocolate" is incorrectly spelled as "chocloate".
<!-- Although it's hard to see, Strong Bad's reflection DOES move in the fwd: and re: section. See talk page. -->

===Glitches===
*At the end of the e-mail, the cursor disappears after Strong Bad has typed "I think I see a Fluffy Puff Nibblin in there." It reappears a few seconds before Strong Bad claims there are no Easter eggs.

===Inside References===
*The Marshie commercial pausing at the end is similar to the [[Character Videos|character videos<!--this link is different from the one below-->]].
*The mouth in the marshmallow eating diagram is adapted from [[english paper]] with the battery changed to a marshmallow.
*Homestar's [[buttdance]] is from his [[Homestar Runner#Character Video Transcript|character video<!--this link is different from the one above-->]].
*Strong Bad also got the [[jibblies]] in [[your friends]] and [[date]], although not as severely.
*Strong Bad also asked for $7.50 in [[radio]].
*This is another occurence of [[puking]] on the site.
*The three chocolate desserts are examples of [[concoctions]].
*All three desserts are examples of [[Real-Live Foods|live action foods]].
*Strong Bad has [[Not X|not pigeons]] on his bottom 10.
<!-- "Bring some paper towels" has been deemed a non-reference on STUFF. Please do not add it. -->
<!-- No tree hugging references. Both went through STUFF and were declined. -->

===Real-World References===
*Chocolardiac Arrest is a reference to [[Wikipedia:cardiac arrest|cardiac arrest]], the cessation of normal circulation of the blood due to failure of the ventricles of the heart to contract effectively.
*Chocozuma's Revenge is a reference to [[Wikipedia:Montezuma's Revenge|Montezuma's Revenge]], used today to describe travelers' illness, usually gastrointestinal. It was first coined during the Spanish conquest of the [[Wikipedia:Aztec|Aztecs]] in 1519&ndash;1520 by [[Wikipedia:Hernan Cortez|Hernán Cortés]]. The debilitating diarrhea that the conquistadors' troops suffered in the jungles of today's [[Wikipedia:Mexico|Mexico]] was attributed to the force of the deposed Aztec ruler, [[Wikipedia:Moctezuma II|Moctezuma II]].
**Chocolardiac and Chocozuma are both [[portmanteaus]].
*The Bottom Ten list is presented in the same manner as the [[Wikipedia:Top Ten list (David Letterman)|Top Ten list]] on [[Wikipedia:The Late Show with David Letterman|The Late Show with David Letterman]].
**The [[Podstar Runner]] summary for the e-mail is a reference to the way Letterman introduces his Top Ten list. [[wikipedia:Scottsdale, Arizona|Scottsdale, Arizona]] (misspelled with just one "t" in the summary) has, at one point, been an actual "[[wikipedia:Cities that have been David Letterman's Home Office|home office]]" of the list.
*The scene showing The Cheat wet and shivering insinuates that he dove into the glass of water from the ladder. This is most likely a reference to several older cartoons (such as [[Wikipedia:Looney Tunes|Looney Tunes]]) where a character did the same thing.
*On Limozeen's album cover, the F on "Feed the Children" is the same F used by Fender, a company that manufactures guitars.

===Fast Forward===
*The Horrible Painting would reappear in pumpkin form in [[More Fan Costumes]], and as the major antagonist in [[Jibblies 2]].
*The Cheat is wet again in [[DNA Evidence]].
*Strong Bad himself would later sing a song with "Na Nas" as 'legit lyrics' in a song about the [[the S is for Sucks Dragon|S is for Sucks Dragon]] in [[Trogday 08]].
*The lady who says that a "Chocolardiac Arrest" is "sinful" would reappear in several other e-mails, and receive the same response of "[[Shut Up, Lady]]" each time.
'''MIKE:''' Yeah, thanks, Karen.

'''KAREN:''' ''{overlapping}'' You're welcome. And I've been bugging you guys forever to let me do the commentary for Bottom 10.

'''MIKE:''' ''{laughs}'' So, now's your chance. Make it count. Karen, go!

'''KAREN:'''  Okay, I gotta tell you that I like this email. It's my favorite email&mdash;

'''MIKE:''' ''{interrupting}'' That's awesome, Karen! All right, Matt, so&mdash;

'''KAREN:''' ''{overlapping}'' Because&mdash;

'''MIKE:''' &mdash;what do you think about this email?

'''KAREN:''' ''Because it's so rich'' and that, that becomes a joke later on.

'''MATT:''' ''{as Strong Bad}'' Shut up, lady.

''{laughter}''

'''MATT:''' You made, uh, there was an old-timey mustache guy that was the, uh, mascot for J. Stumblers originally, Mike.

'''MIKE:''' Oh, really?

'''MATT:''' I think so. He was kinda like stumbling.

'''MIKE:''' Yeah. Okay, right.

'''MATT:''' ''{overlapping}'' The old-timey guy was like whooooa...

'''MIKE:''' Where is he?

'''MATT:''' I dunno. You just drew a picture. You probably got it somewhere.

'''KAREN:''' ''{overlapping}'' I love that monster. Especially&mdash;

'''MIKE:''' ''{overlapping}'' That was based on a, um, painting that, uh, my friend Jason Fields had in college that his mom did that he had on the wall of this weird creepy goblin.

'''MATT:''' Well and the thing that it says is the, uh, another, yet another thing we owe my friend Neil thousands of dollars for because it's idea number twenty-two that came from Neil. Uh, was&mdash; It's the voice of a rocoulm, which is a crook or a criminal and he's a creepy guy that hides in an alley and when you walk by, he says "Come on in here..."

'''KAREN:''' ''{laughs}''

'''MATT:''' And then you go in there and he mugs you or something.

'''KAREN:''' ''{laughs}'' Yeah, that is one of the things to contribute to&mdash; attribute to Neil.

''{Marshie comes on}''

'''KAREN:''' Yep, here's another reason why it's ''so rich'' is because it has a little commercial here with um, Marshie and, uh&mdash;

'''MATT and MIKE:''' Nibbles.

'''KAREN:''' Nibbles.

'''MIKE:''' Nibbles I made years ago and it was sitting around not being used for anything for a couple years.

'''MATT:''' Yeah.

'''MIKE:''' I think it got&mdash; They reached new lows when M&Ms, when there's a mini-M&M. M&Ms are very small.

'''MATT:''' Yeah.

'''KAREN:''' To begin with.

'''MATT:''' Or like Oreo minis. Or like, Ritz Bits, I feel like were one of the first things. It was just like, but it's a cracker! It's like one and a half inches around, like it's this tiny thing that&mdash; If you can't eat that in a bite, then something is wrong with you.

'''KAREN:''' ''{overlapping}'' Too much mouth strain.

'''MATT:''' Yeah. If you are supposed to eat, uh, you know, pieces of sushi that are five times the size of a Ritz Bit in one bite...

'''KAREN:''' Then you can certainly eat a whole Ritz in one bite.

'''MATT:''' Exactly.

'''KAREN:''' Okay. All right.

'''MATT:''' ''{simultaneously}'' Was that you doing that pigeon voice?

'''KAREN:''' You guys gotta shut up because I've got to tell you a story about this. You know Little Girl and I have incorporated this little bit into our daily lives. You do, you add any verb at all. "Keep on doing it. Do it! Do it down!" ''{laughs}'' And Chris hates it.

''{all laugh}''

'''KAREN:''' Okay, here's another thing I gotta tell you guys about. Because this is ''{pause}'' what everybody has to say when there is a rich dessert in front you. You have to say, "Oh, this is rich."

'''MATT:''' Usually, a cheesecake.

'''MIKE:''' Yeah.

'''KAREN:''' Right.

'''MIKE:''' This was really fun to make, though. We went over to our&mdash; to Ryan's house, actually one night. We just went to the store and bought like 20 dollars worth of chocolate stuff&mdash;

'''MATT:''' Uh huh.

'''MIKE:''' &mdash;and started piling it on. And then, it was actually really good. We ate it afterwards.

'''MATT:''' Afterwards, we all ate it.

'''MIKE:''' It was really good. And&mdash;

'''KAREN:''' And here's another rich part of this. It's got an appearance by Limozeen.

'''MATT:''' It's true. It's kind of a best, a best of.

'''KAREN:''' And, you know, you got the, um, necessary little a cappella part there.

'''MIKE:''' The breakdown. It just gets the whole crowd, you know.

'''KAREN:''' Clapping at the same time.

'''MIKE:''' ''{overlapping}'' The lights are like flashing along.

'''MATT:''' ''{simultaneously}'' The lights flash.

'''KAREN:''' Okay, here's another reason&mdash;

'''MIKE:''' ''{overlapping}'' I forgot what it is. Oh, yeah.

'''KAREN:''' And the fact that there is another appearance of the Buttdance, you know, she just loves it.

'''MIKE:''' It's like "Let's twist again, like we did last summer."

'''MATT:''' Yeah!

'''MIKE:''' It's a sequel to a song.

'''KAREN:''' Like the rhythm's down your pants.

'''MATT:''' There's a lot of, uh, gross, um, vomit-related jokes on our website.

'''MIKE:''' Really?

'''MATT:''' I feel like there are. We should probably curb that.

'''MIKE:''' There's&mdash; I don't think they're gross. You don't even see it.

'''MATT:''' That's true. We always&mdash;

'''KAREN:''' What other one are you talking about?

'''MATT:''' There's, uh, the Stoops and Gusso logo, one of them is just throwing up.

'''MATT:''' One them&mdash;

'''MATT:''' One them has an arrow through their head and one of them is puking. That's what the morning crew is all about.

'''KAREN:''' Oh, and now the one with, uh, Strong Bad says he's&mdash;

'''MIKE:''' It's over.

'''KAREN:''' Okay. ''{laughs}''

'''MIKE:''' That's when&mdash; When, the paper comes down, you always gotta end it.

'''MATT:''' No wait. Wait!

'''MIKE:''' Oh, is this&mdash; Is it still going?

'''KAREN:''' Oh, right, no Easter eggs. He's too, he's not up to it. He's not up to it.

'''MATT:''' Hurry up, say what you're gonna say!

'''KAREN:''' Okay! Oh, I forget.

'''MIKE:''' Good job.

===Fun Facts===
'''STRONG BAD''': It's the e-mail, the e-mail, what what, the e-mail.

''{reading}''

<blockquote class="short email">Hey Strong Bad, do you like techno at
<br />all? If you do, what kind.<br />
<br />
Silent J</blockquote>

'''STRONG BAD:''' Oh, that's...very clever. ''{typing}'' Well, its not really my style, but I heard a techno song one time that went like...

''{Strong Bad stops typing and mimics a techno beat.}''

'''STRONG BAD:''' Doom doom doom doom doom doom doom doom ''{resumes typing}'' And then this other part came in, and it was like...

''(Strong Bad stops typing again, the original beat is heard along with this new part.}''

'''STRONG BAD:''' Doodle-um-doom doodle-um-doom doodle-um-doom doodle-um-doom ''{resumes typing}'' And then there's always some kinda high pitched noise, y'know? Or like a siren that's like...

''{Strong Bad stops typing again and another part is added to the song.}''

'''STRONG BAD:''' DOO-DA-DOO-DA-DIDDLE DOO-DA-DOO-DA-DIDDLE DOO-DA-DOO-DA-DIDDLE DOO-DA-DOO-DA-DIDDLE ''{resumes typing}'' And of course they have to put in the obligatory old movie quote from some sci-fi movie. It's like...

''{Strong Bad stops typing again, all the parts are there.}''

'''STRONG BAD:''' The system is down! The system is down! The system is down! The system is down!

''{The screen starts going dark and light again. We zoom out to see The Cheat standing beside a lightswitch, turning it on and off with twirling strobe light circles on the wall while twirling a [[The Cheat's Glowsticks|glowstick]], raving to the techno piece. Strong Bad walks up to him.}''

'''STRONG BAD:''' The Cheat... is ''grounded''!

''{Zoom in on the lightswitch. There is a label above it reading "The Cheat's Lightswitch". The back of The Cheat's head is visible at the right of the screen.}''

'''STRONG BAD:''' We had that lightswitch installed for you so you could turn the lights on and off ''{cut back to Strong Bad and The Cheat}'', ''not'' so you could throw lightswitch raves! Now let's go break open that glowstick and pour it into Homestar Runner's Mountain Dew. ''{They both start walking off.}'' I heard they have to pump your stomach when you drink that stuff.

''{[[The Paper]] comes down.}''

== Easter Eggs ==

* Click on The Cheat's lightswitch at the end to listen to the music some more and see a flyer for a special event featuring that music. It features a rainbow-colored [[Wikipedia:fractal|fractal]] and reads:

<blockquote>The Cheat's<br>
Lightswitch Rave<br>
<br>
featuring:<br>
DJ The Stick<br>
and DJ from Full House<br>
<br>
Doors Open at 3 am</blockquote>
* At the end, you're given the option to [[Miscellaneous Downloads|download]] the song for either Windows or Mac OS.

== Fun Facts ==
===Trivia===
* The summary on the [[Podstar Runner]] RSS feed for this video says "Some bozo asks about techno music."

===Remarks===
*The email sender's name, "Silent J", refers to [[Wikipedia:Jay and Silent Bob|Jay and Silent Bob]], a pair of recurring characters from the movies of director [[Wikipedia:Kevin Smith|Kevin Smith]].
*Strong Bad makes a mistake while typing here. He types 'its', which is possessive. He should have typed 'it's', for 'it is' (an error he points out when Dan D. misuses it in [[local news]]).
*When The Cheat is throwing his lightswitch rave, his lightswitch says just "The Cheat" (best viewed in Flash after zooming in). When the camera zooms in on his switch, it says "The Cheat's Lightswitch".
*When The Cheat is throwing his light switch rave, the spinning of the glow stick, and lights, keep moving, even when paused; this is somewhat like Homestar's blinking eyes, and when The Cheat plays keyboard in the e-mail [[flag day]].

===Goofs===
*[[The Paper]]'s sound effect is out of sync somewhat, it begins to come down before the sound effect is heard.

===Inside References===
*There is a reference to [[Mountain Dew]].
*[[The Cheat]] spins around a [[Glow Stick]].

===Real-World References===
*"DJ from Full House" is a reference to the television show "[[IMDB:tt0092359|Full House]]" and the character [[Wikipedia:D.J. Tanner|D.J. Tanner]] played by [[IMDB:nm0121026|Candace Cameron Bure]].

===Fast Forward===
*This song appears on the [[Strong Bad Sings and Other Type Hits]] CD, and replaced ''Renegade Master'' on [[Main Page 4]].
*[[The Cheat]] would later throw a lightswitch rave in [[monument]].
*The same rave lights can be turned on in [[interview]] and [[Strong Bad's Cool Game for Attractive People]].

=== Commentary Transcript ===
('''Commentary by:''' [[Matt Chapman]], [[Mike Chapman]])

'''MATT:''' I always think, in my brain, that Techno's on the old computer.

'''MIKE:''' No, I know, it's much later. I think I always get Guitar and Techno mixed up.

'''MATT:''' I think they're like—

'''MIKE:''' They seem to be similar.

'''MATT:''' Yeah. Quite similar. "Its"... that's a error there, Strong Bad. Punctuation error, should be an apostrophe in that "its."

'''MIKE:''' I probably did that. I have a hard time with that. Until you made up that song in that later email.

'''MATT:''' Uh, so this was the way... lightswitch rave came from—I had this, um... my apartment, uh first year I lived alone in college, uh, my kitchen, the overhead light in the kitchen was always flickering. And so any time we'd turn that light on, uh, we would make that—do that song, do that ''{singing}'' DOO-DA-DOO-DA-DIDDLE DOO-DA-DOO-DA-DIDDLE. ''{stops}'' "The System Is Down" Mike made up, uh, but basically the background of music for this was some dumb joke we did in college. Mike, what room is ''that'' supposed to be in?

'''MIKE:''' I always thought that was the other side of his desk, even though there's not the carpet there.

'''MATT:''' The carpet just ''ends''.

'''MIKE:''' The carpet ends right there halfway—

'''MATT:''' At half of his desk. It's like the Simpsons house.

'''MIKE:''' The Strong house has problems.

===Fun Facts===
*The song Mike mentions in passing is the "Its/It's" Grammar Song from [[local news]].
Happy Flag Day to you too, man. It just so happens Strong Badia has about the coolest flag you ever saw. ''{His voice starts echoing a lot, like he's speaking in front of a really large crowd}'' Would everyone please rise for the presentation of our national colors.

''{The Cheat is standing beside the flag pole and pulls up the flag of Strong Badia. The flag has three horizontal stripes, one red, one white, and one brown. In the middle, there's a picture of a green snake with the word "Snake" handwritten over its body, holding a knife in its tail and crawling through a tire. The Cheat starts playing on [[The Cheat's Keyboard|his keyboard]].}''

=== Strong Badian National Anthem ===

''{Strong Bad taps his foot and bobs his head to the tune}''

''{spoken}'' '''(Oh... Oh, I like that! Oh yeah!)'''

''{close-up of Strong Bad singing}''

''{singing}'' '''Come tooo the place where tropical breezes blooooow...'''

'''Come to the coolest place I knoooow....'''

''{wide shot of Strong Badia}''

'''The people are so great,'''

''{Strong Bad looks around him and then points to himself}''

'''But really there's only me,'''

''{close-up of Strong Bad; a coin with his face spins onto the screen}''

'''And that means I'm so great,'''

''{close-up of The Cheat playing his keyboard}''

'''And also there's The Cheat.'''

'''Oh there's The Cheeeaaat...'''

''{cut back to wide shot}''

'''in the place where the tropical breezes bloooow....'''

''{a reflection of The Cheat is seen in the Stop Sign}''

'''The Cheat in the coolest place I knoooow....'''

''{cut back to Strong Bad's close-up; two Cold Ones fly in from the sides and meet in the middle, then separate to transition to the next visual}''

'''The ones are always cold,'''

''{Strong Bad is shown giving Strong Mad a tattoo of the Strong Badia snake and tire with an X-Acto knife}''

'''And the parties last all night,'''

'''And there's probably lots of chocolate,'''

''{Zoom in on the Tire}''

'''And population tire.'''

''{Strong Bad stands on one foot and leans dramatically}''

''{falsetto}'' '''Population...'''

''{Strong Bad stands in front of a silhouetted Strong Badia with the flag waving above pink skies}''

'''Ti-i-i-ire...'''

''{Cut back to a close-up of the flag waving, the sky is now blue again}''

''{[[The Paper]] comes down.}''

*After Strong Bad's coin, you can quickly click on The Cheat and see his coin, which reads "Don't Mess With THE CHEAT", "2 Bits", and "A Bad Penny."

==Fun Facts==
===Remarks===
*Flag Day is actually celebrated on June 14th, three days before this email was released.
*The flag is made up of parts of Strong Badia. The brown part represents the dirt, the white part represents the fence with the jagged top, and the red part possibly represents Strong Bad himself or the [[Stop Sign]]. The [[Tire]] is next to the fence and the [[Big Knives|Big Knife]] has been referred to/used by Strong Bad numerous times. The snake doesn't seem to represent anything of Strong Badia in particular, although 18th century American revolutionary flags such as the [[Wikipedia:First Navy Jack|first US Navy Jack]] and the [[Wikipedia:Gadsden flag|Gadsden flag]] (both with a prominent snake on them along with the slogan, "Don't Tread on Me") could be the inspiration behind it.
*When The Cheat is playing the tune while Strong Bad sings, he only presses one key. Old Casio keyboards would often allow you to play a preset background tune with harmonics by pressing one button.
*The chord progression at the end of the anthem, as Strong Bad sings "Population Ti-i-i-ire," is a plagal cadence, often referred to as the "amen" cadence for its use at the conclusion of sacred music.
*If The Cheat's penny is worth two bits, it has the same value as a quarter.
*The Cheat's hand movements are a constant repeating animation (such as Homestar's eyes blinking), so not only does it not sync up with the song, it will still be playing if you go into the Flash file and deselect "Play".
*The anthem music is already starting while The Cheat is preoccupied with hoisting the flag, even though The Cheat is afterwards shown to be the one playing the song.

===Goofs===
*When The Cheat is raising the flag and it is hanging down, the line between the red and white stripes is straight. When it is fluttering in the breeze, it is jagged.
*When The Paper comes down in front of the Strong Badian flag, the left side of its shadow can be seen right behind it, as if the sky in the background were an actual surface like the flag.
*The snake isn't seen on the flag until it is fully unfurled, but when the wind begins to pick up the flag, enough of its surface can be seen to display the snake.
*When the flag is hoisted, the snake doesn't appear until a split second after the flag starts blowing in the wind.

===Inside References===
*On the ticket to Pablo Phoenix's event, all the way on the right, vertically, it says "no refund no delabor," which is a reference to the numerous members of the Delabor family that work at [[Thorax Corporation]].
*This is an instance of [[Blood|bleeding]].

===Fast Forward===
*The Strong Badia National Anthem later makes brief appearances in [[fan club]], [[Date Nite]], and [[Strong Badia the Free]], though it has yet to be sung in its entirety outside of the CD since this email.

==DVD Version==
*All of this email's eggs can still be viewed using the angle button.
*The DVD version features hidden creators' commentary. To access it, switch your DVD player's audio language selection while watching.

===Commentary Transcript===
('''Commentary by:''' [[Matt Chapman]], [[Mike Chapman]])

'''MATT:''' Hello, this is more commentary.

'''MIKE:''' This is more commentary, too. Thank you for joining us.

'''MATT:''' Uh... I think Pablo Phoenix was, well, back when we had a message board on the website—

'''MIKE:''' Yeah, he was one of the regulars

'''MATT:''' —was one of the regulars, yeah, which was kind of cool. We didn't know, tha—well, a— well, at the time, but later on he showed up and... true.

'''MIKE:''' Something that uh, we often talk about is the original lyrics to the Strong Badia National Anthem

'''MATT:''' Oh yeah, tell them—they're written down somewhere

'''MIKE:''' Yeah, I think I sang those this morning. Um, which were "This one is great, truly truly great"

'''MATT:''' "The land of all people, the land of different stuff"

'''MIKE:''' ''{laughs}'' Yeah

'''MATT:''' Or something like that.

'''MIKE:''' It ''had'' to be changed

'''MATT:''' It was not good at all. And, uh

'''MIKE:''' ''{singing}'' This one is great, truly truly great.

'''MATT:''' ''{joins in}'' Truly truly great... ''{spoken very quickly}'' the-land-of-all-people-the-land-of-different-stuff. Um, so the scale here, that's a tiny Strong Badia flag there, Mike. The Cheat should've been much smaller.

'''MIKE:''' Heh, that's true. The scale... We're not very consistent with our scale.

'''MATT:''' Yeah... We should make a style guide.

'''MIKE:''' ''You'' can make a style guide.

'''MATT:''' Yeah, ''you'' make one, more like.

''{Mike laughs}''

'''MATT:''' Um... So this is the first appearance of Strong Bad.

''{Mike and Matt laugh}''

'''MATT:''' Look, that's the year I was born! 1976! Thanks, Mike, did you do that on purpose?

'''MIKE:''' I think I did do that on purpose.

'''MATT:''' Awww, you guys!

'''MIKE:''' And all the action figures always cost 11 dollars and one cent, which is your birthday.

'''MATT:''' Eleven oh one!

'''MIKE:''' November 1st. Now everyone knows your birthday so maybe they'll get you presents!

'''MATT:''' Don't get me any presents guys! Uh, I always wanted you to—you didn't do a clink there. I think I even made a clinking sound effect for those two bottles and you didn't put it in.

'''MIKE:''' There's lots of—

'''MATT:''' 'Cause Mike finished this up, I remember that. I had to go out of town.

'''MIKE:''' There's no—

'''MATT:''' And Mike finished it up. Well yeah, but it ''clearly'' deserves a sound effect.

'''MIKE:''' Well there's ''lots'' of things that... You don't hear the X-Acto knife carving into Strong Mad's flesh sound that we always use.

'''MATT:''' That, that's true. This is what it sounds like. ''{Matt makes a gross-sounding carving sound effect with his mouth}''

<blockquote class="lappy email"><div>
subject: The Paper...</div>
Dear Strongbad,<br />
Is the Paper really quitting? Could you tell me the best<br />
moment that you had with the paper?<br />
Thank You<br />
Kyle Williams<br />
North Ogden, Utah
</blockquote>

''{Strong Bad reads the state as "Eww-tah".}''

'''STRONG BAD:''' ''{typing}'' No, The Paper's not quitting, Kyle, you total... Ogdenite! Ol' Papes is at the top of his game, the prime of his time, the cusp of his stuff!

''{The printer falls onto Strong Bad, knocking him offscreen.}''

'''STRONG BAD:''' OW!!!

''{Cut back to show the full computer room. The wrecked printer is on the ground, with Strong Bad reeling next to it. The printer prints a sheet with a sickly, distorted sound. A dramatic chord plays. Cut to a closeup of The Paper, which reads "I tHiNK i'MM rEAlllyy QUItTinG sTROng BBBaD".}''

'''STRONG BAD:''' ''{offscreen}'' THE PAPER! NO!!!

''{Cut back to a shot of the whole screen.}''

'''STRONG BAD:''' Why do all my thirty-year-old electronics keep breaking on me?!

''{Cut to a closeup of The Paper, which prints out some more text reading "wE haDd A goOd RUN, oLD buDddy."}''

'''STRONG BAD:''' ''{offscreen}'' We sure did, pal.

''{Cut back}''

'''STRONG BAD:''' Why, I remember the day you were born like it was about to happen in a wavy flashback...

''{Harp music plays. It transitions to Lil' Strong Bad and Strong Sad, in front of a computer and printer. Strong Sad is typing.}''

'''LIL' STRONG BAD:''' Hurry up, Diaper Stripe! I wanna print out that butt I made out of hyphens and dollar signs!

''{Strong Sad hits a key, and a paper prints out of the printer.}''

'''LIL' STRONG BAD:''' Did you hear that?

''{Cut to a closeup of The Paper coming out of the printer, which reads "Preeeeow, world."}''

'''LIL' STRONG BAD:''' ''{offscreen}'' It said "Preeeeow!"

'''STRONG BAD:''' ''{voiceover}'' And you were always phenomenal over the boards on defense!
''{Cut to the stadium. Strong Bad is wearing a headband, dancing in front of a basketball hoop as though blocking it. Homestar Runner holds a football and is wearing kneepads and a purple shirt that reads "Team Kneepads 15". The scoreboard gives a score of "?" for the Home team and "$" for the Visitors.}''

'''HOMESTAR RUNNER:''' Homestar had the ball at the top of the key. ''{bounces the football twice}'' Dribble, dribble, ''{throws it toward the hoop}'' shoot!

''{The Paper comes down reading "Manute Bol" in front of the hoop, blocking the shot. Strong Bad looks up.}''

'''STRONG BAD:''' Ooooh! ''{closeup}'' Get that weak mess outta here!

''{Cut to a closeup of Homestar}''

'''HOMESTAR RUNNER:''' Aw, man! Wish I had a time-and-space-transcending piece of paper on ''my'' team.

''{Cut back a bit. Homsar is hovering in midair behind Homestar, wearing a similar shirt but with the number ".4". He has a kneepad on his hat instead of his legs.}''

'''HOMSAR:''' ''{his hat flies offscreen}'' AaAaAaAaAaAaA ''{his hat lands on Strong Bad}'' aAaAaAaAa...

'''STRONG BAD:''' ''{voiceover, over Homsar}'' I will admit, I wasn't crazy about your goth phase.

''{Cut to Strong Bad in the computer room, in front of the [[Compy 386|Compy]]. A black version of The Paper designed to resemble bat wings comes down with a purple glow and a drop of [[blood]] that slowly drips off. It has the usual text printed in a Gothic font, but it's nearly unreadable.}''

'''STRONG BAD:''' Ahh! ''{Looks up, holds up his hands in a defensive stance.}''

''{Cut to Strong Bad in front of the Compy up close.}''

'''STRONG BAD:''' ''{voiceover}'' Or your preppy phase, for that matter.

''{The Paper comes down. It appears to be wearing a pink polo shirt with a turquoise scarf. The shirt has "Tennis" stitched into it with an image of a tennis racket above it. Only the word "golf" is visible on The Paper itself. Strong Bad looks up, then down.}''

'''STRONG BAD:''' ''{voiceover}'' But you always watched out for your younger brothers and sisters.

''{Another drop of blood drips down from The Paper. Cut to computer room with the Lappy on the desk. Homestar is wrapped up in paper dangling from the ceiling. A bottle of Mountain Dew is visible on the desk.}''

'''HOMESTAR RUNNER:''' Look, I was just trying to pour Mountain Dew on it! Ohwait. I mean Mello Yello on it! Ohwait. I mean Sierra Mist!

''{Cut to a closeup of Homestar.}''

'''HOMESTAR RUNNER:''' Fresca! ''{pronounced "fresha"}'' Surge!

'''STRONG BAD:''' ''{voiceover}'' And who knows how many times you saved my shiny black keister?

''{Cut to Strong Bad, on the Island, which has a hole in it and is slowly sinking. Strong Bad is wearing a ragged bandanna. Many shark fins appear circling the island.}''

'''STRONG BAD:''' How is this island sinking?! I didn't even kill any end bosses!

''{The Paper comes down reading "Anybody need a lift?"}''

'''STRONG BAD:''' ''{looking up}'' The Paper! I thought you were still in Pyongyang! Let's go! Jump!

''{He jumps up and grabs The Paper, which reels upwards. Cut back to a silhouetted version of the scene over a sunset. Strong Bad and The Paper appear to be flying away from the island. The Population: Tire video game music plays. The words "GAME OVER" and "PROGRAMMERS:" appear after a moment as the island sinks completely. Transition back to the computer room.}''

'''STRONG BAD:''' I can't believe this is really it!

''{Cut to a closeup of The Paper. With a dying sound, it prints out "iT is Tiime. YOU kNOw WhHat to dO."}''

'''STRONG BAD:''' ''{offscreen}'' Farewell&mdash;

''{Cut to a full shot. Strong Bad pats the printer.}''

'''STRONG BAD:''' &mdash;my strip&egrave;d friend.

''{Strong Bad pulls out the [[BMW Lighter]]. Cut to a closeup of The Paper again. Strong Bad burns it, leaving ashes that read "BYE NOW". Cut back.}''

'''STRONG BAD:''' ''{singing, distressed}'' And The Paper goeth into the ''{a spotlight shines down on Strong Bad}'' niiIIiiIIiiIIght!

''{The scene fades out, then back in to Strong Bad in front of the Lappy.}''

'''STRONG BAD:''' ''{looking up}'' How's it comin' up there, Bubs?

''{Bubs's hand drops down.}''

'''BUBS:''' I'm almost finished!

''{For a few seconds, Bubs grunts and socket wrench noises are heard.}''

'''BUBS:''' ''{offscreen}'' There!

'''STRONG BAD:''' ''{typing}'' Alright, now hit us with some Preeow 2.0!

''{A new paper comes down slowly making shuffling noises. A key with "@" is drawn on the left, and an envelope with Strong Bad's face in it is drawn on the right. The text and graphics on the new paper are slightly striped with white, and the "@" key is striped with cyan, yellow and magenta on the bottom.}''

'''STRONG BAD:''' ''{typing}'' What the? How am I ever supposed to pronounce that garglemesh? ''{imitating the printer's noises}'' Heunh heownh heunh heownh vvvvvt eangt clonk-a-donk. Doesn't quite roll off the tongue. Alright New Paper, you are officially on trial status. So ya better get to impressin'!

''{[[New Paper]] comes down a little more, printing out an [[ASCII art]] butt made with hyphens and dollar signs, with "(but, a butt)" printed next to it.}''

'''STRONG BAD:''' Hm. Well... that's a start.

==Fun Facts==

===Explanations===
* Strong Bad's comment about not having killed any end bosses is a reference to [http://project-apollo.net/text/rpg.html load bearing bosses], bosses in video games that, when defeated, result in the destruction of the surrounding environment.

===Trivia===
*This email was sent in by HRWiki member [[user:Thewi2kbug|thewi2kbug]].
*The [[Floppy Disk Container]] reads "[[Floppy Disk Container#Logo|Logo]]" and "[[Floppy Disk Container#the colonel's bequest|colonel's bequest]]" in the flashbacks. In the present, it reads "[[Floppy Disk Container#rise of the triad|rise of the triad]]".
* Strong Bad [[fourth wall breaks|breaks the fourth wall]] by mentioning that he remembered first meeting The Paper like it was "about to happen in a wavy flashback".
*During the flashback of The Paper's goth phase, the screen of the Compy 386 reads, in part (this is all that is available in the Flash file):
<blockquote class="short compy email">
a> See there Tompo,<br>
wasted youth. I<br>
six or eleven
</blockquote>
*During the flashback of The Paper's preppy phase, the screen of the Compy 386 reads:
<blockquote class="short compy email">
a> Kick the booty all day long, I<br>
say. But, ya know, maybe not.
</blockquote>
*During the flashback of Homestar being tangled up by The Paper, the screen of Lappy 486 reads:
<blockquote class="lappy email" style="background-image: none">
]Look, Darius, if you want me to eat a Philly cheesesteak<br />
instead of answering an email this week, you got it. No<br />
skin off my back. I'll eat a couple-a Tastykakes while I'm<br />
at it, too. Now, if you'll excuse me, I gotta skee-dat.
</blockquote>
*The summary for the [[Podstar Runner]] RSS feed reads, "Strong Bad looks back at fond memories of The Paper as he bids farewell to his old pal."

===Remarks===
*Strong Bad's printer [[Hammerspace|seems to fall out of nowhere]]. While The Paper itself frequently appears from seemingly nowhere, this is the first time we have seen the printer do so.
*In [[more armies]], The Paper came down wrinkled and torn. However, when it comes out of the printer here, it is not torn or wrinkled.
*Even though The Paper's plug falls out of the outlet, it is still able to print messages to Strong Bad.
*When the email was originally released, the background crowd noise after The Paper blocked Homestar's shot was somewhat louder and overlapped Homestar's line as well as Homsar's bit. By the end of the first day of release, the background cheers were reduced at the block, and eliminated altogether as Homestar begins to speak.
*Ordinarily, The Paper prints upside-down, with the ''last'' line toward the free edge of the page. When shown together with the printer, however, it prints right-side-up.
*In the goth The Paper flashback, the contrast on the Compy can be changed. Normally, this can't be done on zoomed-out shots. The contrast setting remains the same in the next flashback, rather than resetting, like it usually does.
*While "Click Here to Email Strong Bad strongbad@homestarrunner.com" is usually plastered over in podcasts, the Podstar version of this email leaves the text of the Goth The Paper unaltered.
*At the end of [[guitar]], Strong Bad uses the same Lighter and only scorches The Paper.
*During the Homestar Easter Egg, Homestar is slightly more to the left from where he was during the earlier flashback.

===Goofs===
*When the printer falls on top of Strong Bad, there is a section of paper sticking out of it. But when the printer is seen on the ground there's no paper until it starts printing.
*There are extra lengths of paper sticking out when The Paper says, "iT is Tiime. YOU kNOw WhHat to dO." On the next close-up to The Paper, these extra lengths are missing.
*In the Easter egg, some of Coach Z's claps are out of sync to his movements. The same is also true for Homestar's dribble and shooting movements, shortly before Strong Bad appears.
*While The Paper is falling, its reflection is not seen in the Lappy's screen.

===Fixed Goofs===
*During The Paper's "preppy" phase, the contrast control used to affect the area outside the Compy's screen.

===Inside References===
*The departure of The Paper was foretold in [[montage]] and implied in the previous email, [[more armies]].
*The music when Strong Bad is carried off the island is from [[Population: Tire]].
*Strong Bad says "jump" when he jumps in the same manner as in [[alternate universe]].
*After Strong Bad interrupts the rhythmic Easter egg, the scoreboard changes to [[G]].
**This, plus the "$" and "?", are [[Scoreboard#Irregular Scores|irregular scores]].
*Homestar is said to have the ball at the [[top of the key]].
*Lil' Strong Bad's duck shirt is a variation of the [[Duckie Shirt]].
*"And The Paper goeth into the niiIIiiIIiiIIght!" is a reference to the song in [[guitar]], which Strong Bad ended by screaming that the dragon comes [[in the night]]. The Paper was burned with the [[BMW Lighter]] in both instances, but in guitar only the edge was scorched.
**Strong Bad also mirrored this line in [[dragon]], in which he replaced the word "dragon" with "Trogdor."
*The pear and leaves wallpaper was first seen in the email [[no loafing]].
*The computer seen in the flashback is the same computer used in the [[Email Processing Room]].
*Homestar's "Kneepads Team" could be referring to "Homestar's Knees Tech", from [[mascot]], or possibly Coach Z's "spring shin tryouts" in [[Marzipan's Answering Machine Version 14.2]].
*As Strong Bad attempts to block Homestar's shot, he makes Homsar's walking noise, just as he did in [[retirement]].
*The phrase on the New Paper, "but, a butt" is similar to Strong Bad's line in [[TrogdorCon '97]], "...but, you're... a butt."
*Strong Bad calls The Paper his "[[-&egrave;d|strip&egrave;d]] friend".
*Homestar poured [[Mountain Dew]] on Strong Bad's other computers in [[anything]] and [[retirement]].
*Strong Bad's remark about "brothers and sisters" is a reference to [[animal]], where he asks The Paper to "come on down and meet your new brother", the brother being the Lappy.
**Strong Bad also pronounces "sisters" as he did in [[sisters]].
*Strong Bad's rhetorical question, "Why do all my 30-year-old electronics keep breaking on me?!?" refers to [[Strong Bad's Computer Malfunctioning|the many malfunctions]] he's had in the past.
*The song Homestar sings is a reference to the Easter egg in the email [[anything]], in which he sang a parody of the [http://users.pandora.be/soundtrack-fm/Reviews/Klaus_Doldinger/neverending_story/neverending_story.htm theme song] of the 1984 fantasy movie [[The NeverEnding Story]].
*This email includes [[Team Kneepads]].
*This is another toon with [[Homestar Runner Left Behind]] in the Easter egg with The Paper being wrapped around Homestar.

=== Commentary Transcript ===
('''Commentary by:''' [[Mike Chapman]], [[Strong Bad]])

'''STRONG BAD:''' ''{sadly}'' Oh, I can’t watch, Mike. I don't think I can watch.

'''MIKE:''' Strong Bad, come here.

'''STRONG BAD:''' No.

'''MIKE:''' Let me put my arm around you.

'''STRONG BAD:''' I'm too loud. I can't get that close to the mic.

'''MIKE:''' I can&mdash; I can pull you through this, okay?

'''STRONG BAD:''' Okay. ''{almost crying}'' Oh, The Paper... ''{whimpers}''

'''MIKE:''' But he came back. But he came back, in Email 200.

'''STRONG BAD:''' No, no, that was a sham.

'''MIKE:''' And then you killed him.

'''STRONG BAD:''' That was a sham marriage.

'''MIKE:''' And then you killed him.

'''STRONG BAD:''' It was a sham marriage.

'''MIKE:''' Um...

'''STRONG BAD:''' Ow! Oh, look at that.

'''MIKE:''' So there's&mdash;

'''STRONG BAD:''' An old Epson 20 Deuce. I think is what that model was called. Except it was called an Epsom.

'''MIKE:''' Epsom salt?

'''STRONG BAD:''' Like the salt, yeah. It was a knock-off.

'''MIKE:''' So that printer, was it recessed, like your lighting? Like your recessed lighting?

'''STRONG BAD:''' Ask Bubs. Bubs comes over to deal with my printers. Oh, that old wallpaper. Oh, and that devil ducky shirt, do you remember that?

'''MIKE:''' Nope.

'''STRONG BAD:''' One time, I&mdash; I put that and Homestar’s duck shirt, uh, in a dryer, together&mdash;

'''MIKE:''' Uh-huh. Who won?

'''STRONG BAD:''' &mdash;and made 'em duke it out.

'''MIKE:''' How'd you know who won?

'''STRONG BAD:''' Uh, it came out and it was a shirt with a flag of an eagle on it. Like, they, like mated in there, and had a baby, and it was a flag&mdash; an eagle flag.

'''MIKE:''' Uh, I think I might have myself some Team Kneepads shirt printed up, Strong Bad. How do you feel that&mdash;

'''STRONG BAD:''' Yeah, I wanna be number .4.

'''MIKE:''' Spud Webb used to&mdash;

'''STRONG BAD:''' Ooh!

'''MIKE:''' Spud Webb used to&mdash; Ooh, I like that Goth Paper.

'''STRONG BAD:'''  Yeah. Oh man, that Paper was so elitist, it would never let me&mdash;

'''MIKE:''' Was it always at the country club?

'''STRONG BAD:''' Yeah, it would never let me into the country club.

'''MIKE:''' It had a yacht.

'''STRONG BAD:''' Yeah, and we had to race it in the Regatta one time. It was always getting the good girls, even when I'd turn into a werewolf on the basketball team; it still didn't like me.

'''MIKE:''' Um, what was I talking about, though?

'''STRONG BAD:''' ''{imitates the water spewing from the island}''

'''MIKE:''' Oh, .4, you said you wanted to be team .4, or number .4.

'''STRONG BAD:''' I do.

'''MIKE:''' Spud Webb tried to be .4.

'''STRONG BAD:''' Really?

'''MIKE:''' Yeah.

'''STRONG BAD:''' They didn’t let him?

'''MIKE:''' They didn't let him, he was just number 4.

'''STRONG BAD:''' Aww. That's a good game ending, right there. Maybe, like, the ending of Jackal.

'''MIKE:''' Jackal or Contra, didn't Contra&mdash;

'''STRONG BAD:''' I think there's a nice sunset, with a helicopter.

'''MIKE:''' Un-huh.

''{pause until The Paper burns}''

'''STRONG BAD:''' ''{whimpers, on the verge of tears}'' Ohhhhh... That was recessed lighting, we got, Bubs rigged up a spotlight on our recessed lighting for that one. ''{pause}'' Like, I don't even know where he was. He may have been in another dimension. I think maybe The Paper comes down from another dimension, Mike.

'''MIKE:''' I believe it may, it seems it does, 'cause we see a pretty wide view of your computer frequently, and there's no printer.

'''STRONG BAD:''' I always feel like this Paper is based on this old Canon Inkjet.

'''MIKE:''' That, what, the New Paper?

'''STRONG BAD:''' Yeah, but is wasn't called "inkjet" it was called, like, "photosash".

'''MIKE:''' Bubble, uh&mdash;

'''STRONG BAD:''' Bubblejet!

'''MIKE:''' Yeah, they had "bubblejet"

'''STRONG BAD:''' Yeah, I think it might be "bubblejet".

'''MIKE:''' Think there were really bubbles in there? That would have been a problem!

'''STRONG BAD:''' ''{simultaneously}'' Yeah, it was the cutest printer. Ooh, a butt! A little saucy.

=== Marzipan's Greeting ===
'''MARZIPAN:''' Hi, this is Marzipan. I'm sittin' in my dark room... thinkin'. Please leave me a message. ''{beep}''

=== Message 5 ===
'''STRONG BAD:''' Oh, yes. Hello, Marzipan. This is your doctor, Dr. Professional. And I, uh, your results have come back from the lab, and I'm afraid I have some bad news. Um, you've been diagnosed with serious problems. I mean, these are really serious, man... and, I only give you a couple of weeks, sadly. Um, so it's hard to break this news to you, but if I were you, I would start giving your stuff away to people, um, like, maybe put your stereo out on the sidewalk right now, and then go back inside and- and look for some other stuff that, um, maybe I might-- I mean, people might want to have. Um, okay! Hope you had a good life.

=== Message 4 ===
'''THE KING OF TOWN:''' Ooh! Hey, Marzipan, it's the King. Um, I wanted to talk to you because I've been noticing recently that I... I'm not very cool, and, nobody really likes me. Um, so I thought maybe you could give me some pointers, or put in a good word for me with the guys. You know, I mean I like the same bands as you guys and... or maybe you could- I could get them something like you could tell me what kind of video games they like or something, like... I'm getting kind of desperate and lonely... Okay, bye!

=== Message 3 ===
'''KEVIN:''' Hey, Marzipan. This is Kevin. Uh, we were just calling... a bunch of us are over here... just seeing what you were doing tonight. Um, give a call back. All right.

=== Message 2 ===
'''STRONG BAD:''' Uh, hey Marzipan. This is Strong Bad. Um, I was wondering if you could help me with a dilemma I have. Uh, I don't know what to get for my GIRLFRIEND for Valentine's Day. Um, you know, my GIRLfriend... who, uh, lives up in the other country, um, that you've never met, and you'll probably never meet her. But, uh, she's really REAL, you know... so I'm trying to think of what to get her, like, chocolates or flowers or something, you know, REAL.. the type of thing that you give to a REAL person that exists. Um.. so, you know, any ideas you have, 'cause my girlfriend really likes presents from me, her real boyfriend. Uh... okay! Duh, gimme a call.

=== Message 1 ===
'''HOMESTAR RUNNER:''' Oh, hey, Marzipan! This is Homestar. Um, I was wondering if you could help me with a dilemma I'm having. I can't think of what to get my girlfriend for Valentine's Day. Um, she's kind of annoying, and overbearing, and kind of a big hippie. So if you could ''{slowly realizes that he's talking about Marzipan}'' buh... oh. ''{poorly imitates operator error tone}'' Doo doo ''doo''!! The number you have reached is not... your boyfriend calling you... uh... right now. ''{poorly imitates dial tone}'' Doooooo do do do do dooooooo this is the dial tone dooooooooooooooooooooooooo. Okay, bye!

== Fun Facts ==
*It had been mistakenly assumed that the Kevin in this toon was [[UMFM Interview - 20 May 2003|Kevin Scott]], who once interviewed the Chaps. He later denied this, and, in fact, in the [[Everything Else, Volume 1]] commentary for [[Fluffy Puff Commercial]] it was revealed that [[Craig Zobel]] provided the voice of Kevin here.
*Although this is version six, the page title reads "Marzipan's Answering Machine Volume 4."
