New... Game soon?
Telltale Games has just released a new teaser trailer for an upcoming game to be announced on 02 Sept:

http://www.gametrailers.com/video/exclusive-debut-untitled-telltale/703720?type=flv

A silhouette of Strong Bad can be clearly seen. Stay tuned for info... 06:04, 28 August 2010 (UTC)

:Huh. That explains a lot. I guess we only have to wait four days for more info, if not the full game. At the end it said 9-2-2010, so... Thursday. We should finally see what's been going on Thurday. For now, the question remains: who are the other three he was posing with? One was definitely Max the rabbit, and another might have been Sam, from the same game. That leaves... The Heavy Weapons Guy from Team Fortress? Who knows? Anyway, let's check back next Thursday and see what all the commotion is up to.--Jellote wuz here 00:06, 29 August 2010 (UTC)
::According to Kotaku, from left to right it's one of the guys from Penny Arcade, Max from Sam & Max, Heavy from Team Fortress 2, and, of course, Strong Bad. Based on the silhouette, there's been rumors that it's just a sequel to Telltale's poker game. -- 00:11, 29 August 2010 (UTC)
::Edit Conflict! Not to turn this into a forumy-style post, but the TellTale forum people have mainly decided that the four are Thycho from Penny Arcade, Max from Sam&Max, Heavy from Team Fortress Two, <!--Team Fortress Twooooooooooooo! --> and Strong Bad from, well, duh. Since two of them are holding cards, it's speculated that it's a TellTale Texas Hold'em sequel. 00:15, 29 August 2010 (UTC)
:::Hey, maybe after the game comes out this long period of inactivity will finally end! One can only hope.... 71.29.168.29 21:42, 14 September 2010 (UTC)
did it die
lets face it, there has been no updates in months. whats going on over there. did they just stop or are they working that hard on poker night at the inventory? please whats going on with our dear website that we worship?
:TBC have been working on a few projects (baby, Poker Night at the Inventory, Jim Henson movie), so I would just be patient. They've hinted numerous times that they're not done yet. Also, this kind of thing should be posted in the forum. 01:46, 7 September 2010 (UTC)
Do we have a "Experience the Fury of..." page?
It's a "phrase running gag" I believe, since it's been in more than one toon. 71.87.114.122 17:08, 7 October 2010 (UTC)
:Our policies say it has to be in at least three toons to merit a page. Honestly, that's one i've looked for too. Right now it is in two: theme park (thrice) and boring (really) (which i think was a direct reference back to theme park). The way I understand it, it would need to be in a third toon before we could create a page on it. 17:56, 7 October 2010 (UTC)
Redirect for <Article Name>s?
Just wondering, how do we do a no-pipe redirect again? for articles that we need to redirect from <ArticleName>s to just <ArticleName>. (Without using Move feature) 15:23, 14 October 2010 (UTC)
::::Apparently, the MediaWiki over at Aeria Games doesn't have autopipe :( So how do we do it then? :This kind of discussion would be better suited for the forum. 14:05, 20 October 2010 (UTC)
::Though perhaps also better suited for the forum, I would just like to point out that TBC have put out a Halloween toon every single year since the year 2000, they've done Punkin Stencils every year since 2003, and Fan Costumes every year since 2003 (with one exception in 2004). Anyway, here's hoping! 18:27, 21 October 2010 (UTC)
Speculation 2
I know I proposed this idea in March and it got shot down, but I really feel we need to make a HR Wiki speculation page. The discussion above is happening way too often. We really need to get this thing off our chests. doctorwho295 22 October 2010
:I don't really think there needs to be a speculation page, since we have a forum for that purpose. 02:18, 23 October 2010 (UTC)
::Is there a page that addresses the hiatus? Huw 11:47, 23 October 2010 (UTC)
:::I understand your point DENNIS, but while most users understand that, it's the anonymous/new users that really need to be addressed. I think it's a rising issue that really needs to be addressed. doctorwho295 23 October 2010
::::What exactly is the difference between saying "Take it to the forum!" and "Take it to the speculation page!"? 18:02, 23 October 2010 (UTC)
:::::I agree with Strong Awesome. There is no difference, and that's why there is a forum. We don't need pages like that on a Knowledge base. A Forum is a Forum, and there's nothing wrong with it. -- 21:56, 23 October 2010 (UTC)
::::::Yes, I see all of your points. I understand we have a forum, and that's where people speculate as much as they please. But here's the main problem: people don't know that. We are wasting our time going on each and every time it's mentioned and say, "I think this is for the forum." I understand that many people really don't see the point, but here's my main question: isn't it starting to get on people's nerves? doctorwho295 24 October 2010
:::::::StrongAwesome74 and Record307 make a good point though: creating a speculation page would only change where we tell them to go. So, for example, when an anon posts in the Main Page Talk "Hey guys. I bet we're gonna get a punkin stencils this year" or something similar, instead of telling them to take it to the forum, we'd be telling them to take it to the speculation page. New users simply won't know where to go either way. And like Record307 said, it would also bring up the problem of putting non-factual things in a knowledge base dedicated to facts. 12:53, 24 October 2010 (UTC)
::::::::An article on speculation isn't going to happen. Our articles are strictly for factual content. It's not going to solve any problems, anyway, since people are going to keep posting speculation on our talk pages no matter what we do. Making a speculation page isn't going to solve that problem any more than the forum does. Making notes telling people "take it to the forum" is an inevitable part of our existence here. 13:04, 24 October 2010 (UTC)
:::::::::I agree we don't need (and shouldn't have) a speculation page. What we need is a page that presents the known facts of the hiatus, which (let's face it) is a pretty huge event in HR history. Facts may be few, but they're in no way absent -- we know when it began, what the brothers said about it, what little has been released during the break, and a little about other projects with which they're involved. Even if it's short, it'll at least be someplace that people interested in the subject can go to see what's known for sure. Then if they want to speculate, they can take it elsewhere. Huw 14:14, 24 October 2010 (UTC)
I fully see all of your points now. I just thought it might help get this stuff off. Sorry... doctorwho295 24 October 2010
:There's no need to be sorry, as you have nothing to be sorry about. It was a valid suggestion. 01:53, 25 October 2010 (UTC)

Hiatus page
I just posed the question above, but decided it's probably better as its own section. Does the HR Wiki have an article about the hiatus? If it does, I wasn't able to find it. If it doesn't, I suggest that one should be created. Huw 11:56, 23 October 2010 (UTC)
:No it does not. But yes, I'd also like such an article to be created. This hiatus has gone on for a long time now, and has annoyed many fans (myself included), not so much the hiatus, but the fact that they gave no explanation about it. 12:55, 23 October 2010 (UTC)
::I may create one then, or at least the stub of one that can be further expanded. Given that there have been occasional (though much shorter) hiatuses in the past, I wonder what an appropriate title for the article would be? Hiatus of 2009-2010? (I trust it won't soon need to be renamed Hiatus of 2009-2011...) Huw 13:27, 23 October 2010 (UTC)
:::After careful deliberation, I agree. This is not just a delay. This was the longest break in Homestar Runner history, a fan crisis, and a long period of uncertainty. That, and it was likely a time where they had other things in mind. Yes, this is relevant. Perhaps as a supplementary page for Poker Night, but either way, this page has my support.--Jellote wuz here 22:54, 23 October 2010 (UTC)
::::So, what do you think should be on that page? "There's been a long hiatus from November 2009 to the present (with a brief interruption around April Fool's 2010)."? That's not really going to make it for an article, and that's really about all there is to say about this. We don't know why the hiatus occurred (other than the baby), and airing our complaints (which is the main thing that's been written about the hiatus thus far) is not an acceptable use of our articles. 13:07, 24 October 2010 (UTC)
:::::No one is suggesting that the page will be an airing of complaints. My thought is that the page could be about the brothers' hiatuses in general, including sections both on the earlier nine-month one and on the current ongoing absence. Certainly there's not a lot known for sure, but what little is known can at least be presented there for those who are interested (and seemingly a lot of people are). Further information can then be added as it becomes available. Also, the fact that there's not volumes of material to include certainly shouldn't be a limiting factor -- we already have scores of pages that treat subjects very briefly (e.g., Russ T.).
:::::As to whether it merits having its own article... If I understand correctly, one can usually decide if it's appropriate for a subject to have its own article by first determining if it has both relevance and significance. The hiatus meets both criteria in spades. Is there any reason why it should be considered either an insignificant or an irrelevant event in the world of HR? Personally I'd say it's quite the reverse: at the moment it's arguably the most significant and relevant HR subject, one that bears on the very existence and future of HR and is on the mind of practically every fan. It merits an article. Huw 14:07, 24 October 2010 (UTC)
::::::Articles are about content, though. The idea of an article about a lack of content doesn't seem terribly convincing to me. Of course, you're free to try, but don't be surprised if it's TBD'd. 14:20, 24 October 2010 (UTC)
:::::::I'm not opposed to a hiatus article in theory, but I agree with Heim that there really isn't much to say. But, who knows, maybe there is. At this point, I think the only way for us to know one way or the other is for someone to make the article and see if it has legs to stand on. &mdash; It's dot com 15:45, 24 October 2010 (UTC)
::::::::I've made a rough draft of such a page. If anyone wants to add more, please do so. Obviously, i also think a Hiatus page would be a good idea. 17:53, 24 October 2010 (UTC)
:::::::::Good start, SA74! I like that it's entitled simply Hiatus, since that can be both the singular and the plural form of the word (something I didn't know until recently). One thing I'd suggest that I think would strengthen the page would be to have at least two sections: one for the brothers' earlier nine-month hiatus and one for the current one. Then the page is about their breaks in general, and covers more material/content. I'll see what I can contribute. Huw 18:36, 24 October 2010 (UTC)
::::::::::EDIT CONFLICT:I made a few edits to said draft. I have to say, this article could have merit, but I still have a few problems. The way it is written now doesn't sound very encyclopedic. It sounds more like a high school essay. Also, there's a point where enough is enough. As Elcool said in Talk:Ron Planet, we're a Homestar Runner wiki, not a Brothers Chaps wiki. We should stick to in-universe issues and what they choose to publish about themselves, and not do too much digging into their personal lives. -- 18:37, 24 October 2010 (UTC)
:::::::::::I've done some rewording and have started to add some additional bits and pieces. I agree that the wiki is about HR, and in that spirit I think that addressing the year-long absence of significant material to HR is entirely pertinent. As it stands now it doesn't really speculate about anything, and just cites the brothers' own freely-made statements, as well as other publicly available information about their projects. Obviously some mention of the brothers has to be made, but I don't think it's at all prying. Huw 19:15, 24 October 2010 (UTC)
::::::::::::Needs expansion. 23:12, 24 October 2010 (UTC)
The way it's going now, it looks like it'll just turn into a clone of Acknowledged Update Delays but with less information. 23:18, 24 October 2010 (UTC)
:Remember me? I used to come on this wiki before there were no edits to be made. I feel that this proposed article may not be too good of an idea to create right now because, in my opinion, it does wouldn't look too great to write an article about a hiatus and not be able to place an end date anywhere on it. A hiatus is not a hiatus unless updates resume at some point. At this point, there is no way of knowing for sure whether or not there will ever be any new updates. But if the updates resume, I think this article would be a great idea to write! 02:17, 25 October 2010 (UTC)
::Interesting point. I think it's being considered a hiatus (rather than a complete termination) because of the brothers' own statements, which suggest that HR will indeed return. Huw 12:32, 25 October 2010 (UTC)

Emails received by the HRWiki's administrators from Matt and Mike Chapman have made assurances that Homestar Runner is not finished. During the hiatus, Matt is working with Craig Zobel on Ron Planet and on an animated movie entitled Monster Safari with the Jim Henson Company. The brothers are also working with Telltale Games on Poker Night at the Inventory, a video game slated to have more dialogue in it than an average Sam & Max episode.
New...

Speculation 2
I know I proposed this idea in March and it got shot down, but I really feel we need to make a HR Wiki speculation page. The discussion above is happening way too often. We really need to get this thing off our chests. doctorwho295 22 October 2010

Since that time, site updates have consisted of the the annual April Fools' gag and a Xeriously Forxe-themed main page. == New... Game soon? ==

00:15, 29 August 2010 (UTC)
lets face it, there has been no updates in months. whats going on over there. did they just stop or are they working that hard on poker night at the inventory? please whats going on with our dear website that we worship?
:TBC have been working on a few projects (baby, Poker Night at the Inventory, Jim Henson movie), so I would just be patient. They've hinted numerous times that they're not done yet.
::Though perhaps also better suited for the forum, I would just like to point out that TBC have put out a Halloween toon every single year since the year 2000, they've done Punkin Stencils every year since 2003, and Fan Costumes every year since 2003 (with one exception in 2004). == Speculation 2 ==

I also announce the winners of the Costume Contest. Man, those winners are losers. But seriously, thanks to all the lame-o's that dressed up. If I didn't make fun of you specifically this year, just know that deep down in my heart of hearts, I'm always making fun of you, regardless of the crap you have painted on your face, or the paper you have taped to your shirt. On the front of the shirt, there's a totally off-beat quirky irreverent dysfunctional polaroid image of the thirty-something hipster protagonists. The back of the shirt boasts, in stylish hand-drawn font of course, that you're part of the film crew for 'Indier Than Thou Productions,' acclaimed makers of 20-30 million dollar indie films. == Fun Facts ==
Trivia
*The Webdings message translates to:<blockquote>hooray4dolphins: i seriou<br>sly hope you<br>didn't somehow<br>decode this. it<br>would make me real<br>sad.</blockquote>
*Strong Sad's message is a reference to how Mike Chapman once tried to feed his brother Matt cupcakes with toothpaste in them, only to have the younger brother retaliate with vinegar toast. (From ajc interview)
*When this email first came out, The Brothers Chaps registered the AIM screen name hooray4dolphins. It was always online with an away message, saying that Marzipan wasn't really using that screen name, since she doesn't use computers.
*This email marks the first appearance of Marzipan's guitar Carol. She had previously been seen in The Luau playing a ukelele with an M on it.

Remarks
*Strong Bad says that "Marzipan can't keep her hands offa" him, but Marzipan doesn't have any visible hands.
*Besides "Do you like Strong Bad," the quadruple negative "Don't not dislike not Strong Bad" could be interpreted to mean that Marzipan dislikes everyone except Strong Bad, rather than specifically liking him.
*In The Cheat's video, Marzipan's guitar reads "Carl" instead of "Carol".
*In the shot when Marzipan claims she doesn't know what a screen name is, the field behind her is a much older version of the current field.

Glitches
*If you turn up the contrast at the very end of the email when the IMs are on the screen, the IM boxes don't change with the rest of the screen. They just stay black.
**Strong Bad's reflection is also not visible in the IMs, even though they are the same color as the screen.
* Also, after Strong Sad's message pops up, if you watch Marzipan's video, Strong Sad's message reappears afterwards.
*Marzipan blinks over her closed eyes twice, and when this happens, a dot appears next to her closed eyes.

Inside References
*When hooray4dolphins Instant Messages Strong Bad, she says "Are you trying to fade me?", which is a reference to the name of Coach Z's new hit single, "These Peoples Try to Fade Me", included on the Strong Bad Sings and Other Type Hits CD.
*Marzipan's "Free Concert for Birds" sign leans up against a cinder block, just like the stop sign in Strong Badia.
*This email mentions a Big Knife.
*The Cheat's screen name, cheatachu72, was originally seen in the email i she be.
*Strong Sad's screen name is the same as his email address, as shown in depressio.
*The title of the pop-ups is the first appearance of the word Thyme.
*The "Hello, my name is _____" sticker in the Easter egg first appeared in The Luau.

Real-World References
*The IM boxes that pop up on Strong Bad's computer look like those seen in Microsoft Windows 3.X, which definitely fits with Strong Bad's computer, as the 3.X series was made for the then-state-of-the-art 386 PCs.
*This email is the second time we see The Cheat's screen name, which is cheatachu72. This is obviously a reference to the Pokémon Pikachu, with whom The Cheat shares a likeness.
*Marzipan's supposed screen name, "hooray4dolphins", is an example of Internet Slang.

Fast Forward
*Marzipan's song would later be on the Strong Bad Sings CD.
*Marzipan holds another free concert in Seasonal Sweaters.
*"Cheatachu72" is also The Cheat's username when he bids on the breakfast burrito in english paper.
*Strong Bad uses "Video Thyme" (similar to "Message Thyme") to communicate with Larry in death metal.

*The DVD version features hidden creators' commentary. To access it, switch your DVD player's audio language selection while watching.
Commentary Transcript
(Commentary by: Mike Chapman, Matt Chapman, Marzipan)

MIKE: Marzipan.

MATT: Speaking of Marzipan, look who's here.

MARZIPAN: Hi, guys.

MIKE: Hi—

MATT: {simultaneously} Hi, Marzipan.

MIKE: How does it feel to be featured in your very own Strong Bad Email?

MARZIPAN: It feels about normal.

MATT AND MIKE: {simultaneously} Yeah.

MARZIPAN: Yeah.

MATT: It's got your name. It's got your name all over it.

MARZIPAN: Yeah.

MIKE: There it is, I'm pointing to it right now.

MARZIPAN: I see. I, uh—I thought this was a particularly thoughtful email.

MIKE: Yeah?

MARZIPAN: And, um, I thought the costume design was very good.

MIKE: There's... Yeah?

MARZIPAN: My—my outfit.

MIKE: It's the same one you're always wearing.

MATT: Well... It's a good outfit, right?

MARZIPAN: Well... Sometimes I change.

MIKE: Oh, okay.

MATT: Oh, an interesting note about that last one that popped up was, uh, it spelled out something, and, what was it—

MIKE: It was in, like—

MATT: —it spelled out "I really hope you didn't translate this. That would make me sad." And of course—

MIKE: And it was in, like, Webdings—

MATT: Yeah.

MIKE: Or some Dingbats or something and people translated it.

MATT: It made me really sad.

MIKE: Yeah.

MARZIPAN: Did you notice you reversed my eyes on this one?

MATT: I—look, I—

MIKE: I think they are—

MATT: I don't know...

MIKE: I think we did something wrong.

MATT: But they'd be—make sense in perspective, right? The smaller eyes...

MIKE: But that wasn't why—that's not why...

MATT: She just has one—one eye smaller than the other?

MIKE: Yeah, just like Strong... Just like Strong Ma—er, uh...

MARZIPAN: That's why I get confused later, because I can barely see Strong Bad while I'm talking to him.

MATT: Oh-ho, see Mike, it's your fault. You put her eyes on backwards.

MIKE: Well... uh, we'll look into that.

MARZIPAN: Plus everyone forgot to bring the birds in that day, so no one showed up. There were no extras.

MIKE: Uh, I don't think anyone wanted to hear your song, maybe.

MATT: Mmm, it was a pretty good song.

MIKE: How was the, uh, did you market it very much? That concert? What promoter did you use?

MATT: Pass out flyers?

MARZIPAN: Well...

MATT: Go down to the Whole Foods?

MARZIPAN: You've got to realize this is all acting. You know, this is just not what I usually do.

MATT: What do you usually do?

MARZIPAN: Well I'm usually gardening.

MATT: So is—is the playing a guitar all just part of your character?

MARZIPAN: Yeah. I mean, I play it sometimes, but...for this, you know. I'm—I have a much better guitar than that, usually.

MATT: {laughs} What's its name?

MIKE: Carol... Is that just a prop?

MARZIPAN: It is a prop.

MATT: What's your guitar's name?

MARZIPAN: Uh, Joan.

MIKE: Carol and Joan, huh?

Easter Egg Commentary
MIKE: So here's your video...Marzipan.

MATT: The Cheat misspelled the name of your—your prop guitar there.

MIKE: Yeah, he calls it Carl.

MARZIPAN: I know, I know. That's okay.

MATT: Did you help, like, do the art direction on this one?

MIKE: {almost simultaneously} Have you ever been before?

MARZIPAN: Uh, uh, I did actually. I—I like The Cheat a lot. {slight pause} See? There was only one bird there.

STRONG BAD: There once was a man named email, and he did his best for a while.

{Reading email}

<blockquote class="compy email">Strong Bad,<br />
So, if you're so good with the ladies,<br />
how come I never see you with any? The<br />
only female I've seen even near you is<br />
Marzipan, and she doesn't seem to<br />
like you very much.<br />
<br />
Ok, bye.<br />
Emily C., Ohio</blockquote>

{Strong Bad stumbles with the second sentence, saying "The only female I've eev see sageento—". He starts the sentence over, this time without stumbling. Also, he pronounces "Ohio" as "Owa-hoh"}

STRONG BAD: {typing} What are you talkin about, Emily? Marzipan can't keep her hands offa me! In fact, I had to change my screen name cause she was buggin me so much. {clears screen} I'd be like, tryin' to write an email like... {typing} "Dear The Cheat" {stops typing} And then&mdash;

{message comes up: "hooray4dolphins: 'sup strong bad? i heart you so much."}

STRONG BAD: &mdash; it'd come up, and I'd be like close the window. {closes message, continues typing} "Anyways, The Cheat, I was going"&mdash;

{message comes up: "hooray4dolphins: i like all your muscles," Strong Bad closes it}

STRONG BAD: &mdash; "to ask you"&mdash;

{message comes up: "hooray4dolphins: do you go hooray 4 dolphins? i do," Strong Bad closes it}

STRONG BAD: &mdash; "if I could borrow"&mdash;

{message comes up: "hooray4dolphins: (a long string of characters typed in Webdings font)," Strong Bad closes it}

STRONG BAD: &mdash; "that big knife"&mdash;

{message comes up: "hooray4dolphins: are you trying to fade me?," Strong Bad closes it, clears the screen, and continues typing}

STRONG BAD: And if that's not enough proof {types "enüff prüf"}, just watch this...

{Scene cuts to Marzipan out in the field next to a sign laying against a cinder block saying Free Concert For Birds}

MARZIPAN: {singing} Oh yeah, oh yeah, and I really don't like him at all.

STRONG BAD: So, uh... {Combs back nonexistent "hair" and puts his comb into the back of his pants} Is that another song about Homestar?

MARZIPAN: No, it's about you.

STRONG BAD: About being in love with me?

MARZIPAN: That's disgusting. And I don't like your outfit.

STRONG BAD: Well, I'm not telling you my new screen name.

MARZIPAN: Well... I don't even know what a scream name is, so there you go. And if you'd please leave now, because I'm tinkering with my guitar.

STRONG BAD: Oh yeah, well? Say you like me.

MARZIPAN: No, leave me alone.

STRONG BAD: Say you like me?

MARZIPAN: No.

STRONG BAD: Then do you like {quickly and quietly} Strong Bad?

MARZIPAN: No! You're just saying your name fast. Go away.

STRONG BAD: What about that guy who's brothers with Strong Mad and {quickly and quietly} Strong Sad?

MARZIPAN: That's still you! No!

STRONG BAD: Then how about this one? Do you don't not dislike not Strong Bad?

MARZIPAN: Uh... I guess...

STRONG BAD: See! I told you you loved me! Ooh! I knew it all along! Wait until my friend Emily from Ohio {pronounces it "O-hee-oh"} hears this!!! Oooh, I knew she loves me! {gibberish}

This is obviously a reference to the Pokémon Pikachu, to whom The Cheat shares a likeness.

There was only one bird there.

aboutcharacter marzipan

Biography
Marzipan is Homestar Runner's girlfriend, although during the course of the website's run she's become more and more annoyed with her sweetheart. She has actually broken up with him on numerous occasions. Some of these break-ups were due to Homestar's unintentional mean streak, but most are simply a means of demonstrating her independence. Luckily for Homestar, Marzipan continues to love him dearly and the two always seem to wind up together again. As Strong Bad says, she's a "dirty hippie without the dirt." She is a strict vegetarian and enjoys tofu and soy products. She's a huge animal-rights activist, and she likes to sit outside and play songs about happiness. Her answering machine is a target of pranks from Strong Bad and others.
Marzipan is the only character voiced by the talented Missy Palmer, and the only main female character on the entire site. This has earned her the somewhat unwanted romantic attentions of the other characters, particularly Coach Z, Bubs, and Strong Mad. She tends to anthropomorphize inanimate objects, as seen with her guitar Carol, Homestar Jr. from Where's The Cheat?, and "Mr. Corn" and the Butternut Squashes from Halloween Fairstival.

Like Homestar, Marzipan has no visible arms, though she is able to interact with the world as though she did, being able to pick up and move objects, and even play a guitar. It is generally accepted that either her arms are invisible, or that she has limited telekinetic powers. This is never directly explained in any cartoon, nor is it expected to be explained in the future. There is a slight amount of evidence that she has invisible arms, as displayed by her slap of (and subsequent handprint on) Homestar in the Search of the Yello Dello cartoon, but the credibility of this instance must be weighed against the toon's poor quality.

On occasion she has been easily fooled by poor attempts to imitate Homestar, such as Tofu Homestar and The Cheat's costume in do over. Like the Homestar Jr. and her Halloween potion, these may simply reflect a desire to change, replace, or accept altered versions of her boyfriend. She is one of the kindest characters and is friends with pretty much everybody (even Strong Sad and Homsar) except Strong Bad and The King of Town. She also hosts a Fall Float Parade with Coach Z.

There is actually proof that Homestar holds a deep, inwards feeling of contempt and resentment towards Marzipan, as shown in Happy Fireworks , when Homestar replaces Marzipan with a cardboard cutout while she is out of town. When imitating her, he uses a low and sad voice, and tends to say very exaggerated complaints. In the end of the cartoon, when Cardboard Marzipan claims that fireworks promote violence, Homestar blatantly adds, "Shut up, Marzipan."

MARZIPAN: Hi, I'm Marzipan, and this is my guitar Carol. Say hi, Carol. {performs a scale in E major} Ooh, E scale. Nice choice. When I'm not rockin' out, I like to dig in my garden and eat. I'm a fiercely independent woman, and I'm fiercely independent about the soy products that I choose. Homestar Runner and I {Homestar leans in frame} are one hot item when I say we are. And today we are (not).

HOMESTAR RUNNER: Yay!/Boo! {leans out of frame}

MARZIPAN: I like baby animals, and cats and dogs. But it makes me sad to see cats and dogs in the same room together. Okay, bye. I'm off to the Chinchilla protest.
{She pulls out a protest sign that reads "Chinchillas OUT!! (of my basement)" and walks away}

HOMESTAR RUNNER: {leaning in frame} Boo!/Yay! {leans out of frame}

(Sometimes Marzipan says "And today we are," to which Homestar responds "Yay!" and sometimes she says "And today we are not," in which case Homestar says "Boo!" Whichever response Homestar gives here, he gives the opposite at the end.)
* The old characters page in the museum says Marzipan's father is The King of Town, but this is the only reference to it on the site, and The Brothers Chaps have said that this was an idea they had early in the site's development but have since thrown it out.
*Marzipan is also a confectionery consisting primarily of ground almonds and sugar that derives its characteristic flavor from bitter almonds, which constitute 4% to 6% of total almond content by weight. *In an interview with Wired magazine, Missy Palmer said that Marzipan started out as a hippie, but over time her personality has changed to match Missy's own.
