In this, his sesquicentenn-email, Strong Bad constructs an alternate universe portal with the help of The Cheat and visits alternate realities, along with many of his doppelg&auml;ngers, while Homestar tries to make a real fruit smoothie.

STRONG BAD: {singing over guitar music} I've been walking on clouds and flipping off rainbows, on the wiiiiings of an emaiiil...

{Cut to a wide view of the desk. Strong Sad is standing to the right of Strong Bad with a classical guitar. Strong Bad turns to face him.}

STRONG BAD: Thanks, man.

STRONG SAD: No prob, Bob.

{Cut back to the Lappy.}

<blockquote class="lappy email">
<div>subject: alternate univer$e</div>
Dear Strong Bad, <br />
Got some ?'s for you: <br />
1. What would you do with a hundred million dollars? <br />
2. What would you do if you suddenly found yourself in <br />
an alternate universe somehow? <br />
Jody (not a girl), TX
</blockquote>

{Strong Bad says "question marks" for "?'s", and "Number one" and "Number two" for "1." and "2.", respectively.}

STRONG BAD: {says everything inside parentheses normally} Ya know, you could probably ditch that (not a girl) thing, if you just replaced it with something tough and cool and kool and tuff. Like (Bulldozer). Jody (Bulldozer). Nobody's gonna think that guy's a girl. {clears screen} Well Ms. Dozer, you pretty much answered question mark #1 {read "number one"} with question mark #2 {read "number two"}. Cuz a hundred million dollars is exactly how much The Cheat spent on our alternate universe portal.

{Cut to a wide view of the desk. The Cheat is standing to the right of the Lappy with a blender containing a Nintendo Game Boy.}

STRONG BAD: Isn't that right, The Cheat?

THE CHEAT: {The Cheat noises}

STRONG BAD: What? This thing only cost us fourteen bucks?

THE CHEAT: {agreeing The Cheat noise}

STRONG BAD: Well... that's like a hundred million dollars in... dog years, right?

THE CHEAT: {affirmative The Cheat noise}

STRONG BAD: {leans towards The Cheat suddenly} All right! Mash go on that blender!

{Camera zooms out a little as The Cheat presses a button on the blender. The blender shoots out white bolts as the lighting in the room flashes. Soon after, the blender stops with the Game Boy intact, and there is a large swirl to the right of the desk.}

STRONG BAD: Oh-ho-ho! Swirly Photoshopped magic! I bet this thing could release some serious Cacodemons. So... {The Cheat turns to face Strong Bad} What? I&mdash; I just jump in?

THE CHEAT: {The Cheat noises}

STRONG BAD: {leaning backwards} Ohbee Kaybee! {jumps off the stool and towards the swirl} Jump!

{As soon as Strong Bad touches the swirl, everything except him and the swirl turns black and white. Strong Bad distorts horizontally and vertically, then "springs" into the swirl. Cut to a panel of a comic strip with a number of buildings drawn in it. A caption at the top of the panel reads "IN A BULDING<!-- sic -->..."}

NARRATOR: In a bulding...<!-- sic -->

{Camera shifts to the next panel, which shows an empty room. Strong Bad appears, with "VOIP!" appearing next to him briefly. While in the comic, everything Strong Bad says is also shown in a speech bubble.}

STRONG BAD: Whoa! Where am I?

{Next panel. Strong Badman is in an action pose on a yellow background. Everything he says also appears in a speech bubble, and is not lip-synced.}

STRONG BADMAN: {in large red text} STINY! {normal text} We have a visitor from an alternate universe!

{Next panel. Strong Bad appears in the same room.}

STRONG BAD: {looking to the right} It's Strong Badman! And his well drawn abs! {looks to the left} But... why are we in a crappy apartment instead of a secret underground lair... {looks back to the right} ...filled with secret underground gadgets?

{Next panel. Strong Badman is shown from the chest up in front of a blue background.}

STRONG BADMAN: Because mere mortal... this apartment...

{Next panel. Strong Badman appears in front of a red background with his arms in the air. A thunderclap can be heard in the background.}

STRONG BADMAN: {speech bubble is large, yellow and pointy} ...is rent controlled! {next speech bubbles are regular} And... water's included.

{Next panel. A kitchen and bathroom sink are shown with the faucets running. The bathroom tap has the word "FROSH!" next to it.}

STRONG BAD: {offscreen} Is that why all your faucets are running?

{Next panel. Strong Badman is standing in a room.}

STRONG BADMAN: {each syllable appears individually in red text and is not in a speech bubble} Mu-hu-ha-ha-hah! {regular speech bubble and text} Those dimwits down at the public works won't know what hit them!

STRONG BAD: {walking in from left} So, that's your evil plan? To waste water?

STRONG BADMAN: And not pay for it!!

STRONG BAD: I gotta tell ya, Strong Badman... this part of your comic is pretty boring. I'm gonna see what's going on further down the page. {jumps out of the current panel} Jump!

{He falls down three panels. There is a woman with a big knife sitting on a giant robotic snake.}

STRONG BAD: Oh! Now we're talkin'!

{Next panel. Strong Badman is in the left of the panel, Strong Bad in the center, and there is a TV with the previous panel on it (minus Strong Bad) to the right.}

STRONG BADMAN: You're not kidding!

STRONG BAD: Wha?

STRONG BADMAN: Now we have expanded basic cable...

{Next panel. Close-up of a cable running through a hole in the wall.}

STRONG BADMAN: {offscreen} Stolen from my neighbor!

{Next panel. Strong Bad is in front of a yellow background.}

STRONG BAD: Who's writing this issue? The geniuses behind She-Hulk? {looks up} The Cheat?

{Cut back to the Computer Room.}

STRONG BAD: {voice is slightly distorted, and a speech bubble appears from the swirl} A little frappe action, if you please.

THE CHEAT: {Single "squeak"}

{The Cheat turns around and turns on the blender. Cut back to the previous comic panel. Strong Bad disappears with the same "VOIP!" with which he appeared.}

{Next panel. Strong Badman is in the same pose as when he first appeared, but flipped around and with a green background.}

STRONG BADMAN: {in large red text} STINY! {normal text} Keep flushing those toilets!

{Cut to the Old-Timey stage. Old-Timey Strong Bad is standing on the stage with curtains behind him. To the left of him is a sign that reads "STRONG BAD and his GOODE-TIME PARLOR TRICKS". An audience can be seen silhouetted at the bottom of the screen.}

OLD-TIMEY STRONG BAD: Yes, and for my next parlor trick, I shan't make anything {faces left} appear!

{Strong Bad appears to the left of Old-Timey Strong Bad. He is still in color.}

STRONG BAD: Oh. H-hi.

OLD-TIMEY STRONG BAD: {crowd starts booing} You brightly colored baboon! You ruined my vaudeville!

{The Homestar Runner's dance music plays as tomatoes are thrown at the two Strong Bads.}

STRONG BAD: Ah! Shades of gray tomatoes!

{Strong Bad disappears as Old-Timey Strong Bad looks to the left.}

{Cut to Vector Strong Bad floating above a vector field. Strong Bad appears to the right.}

STRONG BAD: What is up, my enormous vector brother?

{As Vector Strong Bad speaks, his words come out of his mouth in red vector-style text. They disappear after a short while.}

VECTOR STRONG BAD: HELLOTE.

STRONG BAD: So, uh... {cut to close-up of Strong Bad} what do you do for fun around here? {cut back to previous view}

VECTOR STRONG BAD: I SPLO STUFF UP.

{Strong Bad jumps backwards slightly to avoid the "UP", which promptly explodes with vector graphics.}

STRONG BAD: Whoa, that's pretty cool.

{Stinkoman walks in from the left.}

STINKOMAN: Hey, guys! How's challenges?

VECTOR STRONG BAD: WHAT IT IS MY DOGE?

STRONG BAD: Whoa, you two know each other?

{Cut to close-up of Stinkoman.}

STINKOMAN: {smiles} Oh, totally sure! {leans forward and waves one of his arms} He's my training simulator!

{Cut back to previous view.}

STINKOMAN: Check it out!

{Vector Strong Bad starts moving left and right, shooting squares from his mouth. Stinkoman jumps around and dodges the squares. Strong Bad also jumps over and around the squares, but appears to have more difficulty doing so. Game music from video games plays. After a few seconds, they all stop.}

STINKOMAN: Nice work, big nose!

STRONG BAD: Big nose?

STINKOMAN: Your nose!

VECTOR STRONG BAD: LEVEL 2

STRONG BAD: Uh-oh.

STINKOMAN: {simultaneously} Uh-oh.

{Stinkoman silently laughs as Vector Strong Bad shoots a series of squares directly at Strong Bad. As they explode, Strong Bad disappears. Vector Strong Bad then shoots some squares at Stinkoman, which he dodges.}

{Cut to a field in the style of flashback. Tiny Handed Strong Bad is standing close to the camera. Strong Bad appears to the right. All text appears in a white rectangle near the bottom of the screen.}

NARRATOR STRONG BAD: And so, {Strong Bad starts looking around} both Strong Bads entered the 'Dig To China With Your Ears Contest.'

STRONG BAD: This is just about... the second or third to worst contest I ever heard of.

{Cut to a silhouetted view of the field. Pom Pom, Strong Mad, Coach Z, Bubs and Marzipan are standing to the right of a banner which reads "the contest began!!". Tiny Handed Strong Bad is underneath the banner.}

NARRATOR STRONG BAD: The contest began!

{Cut to a close-up of Tiny Handed Strong Bad rubbing his head on the ground near a line marked "start".}

NARRATOR STRONG BAD: And tiny-handed Strong Bad rubbed his head on the ground... {cut to a wide view; Strong Bad is sitting on a hammock with his Dangeresque sunglasses on.} while our Modern Day Hero maxed and relaxed.

{Cut to Tiny Handed Strong Bad standing near the camera again, as in the first shot. A hole is visible near the background, and a giant glass of root beer appears in the center.}

TINY HANDED STRONG BAD: I struck it rich!

NARRATOR STRONG BAD: Said T.H.S.B.

{Cut to a zoomed out view of the previous scene, but with the giant glass of root beer in the center. The Fat Bee is seen holding Strong Bad's hammock up.}

TINY HANDED STRONG BAD: A giant mug of frosty root beer!

{Old-Timey Strong Bad appears to the left in a bathing suit. Tiny Handed Strong Bad looks at him.}

OLD-TIMEY STRONG BAD: Zounds! A sarsparilla<!--sic--> swimming hole! Last one in's a freemason! {he half-runs toward the root beer and jumps in} Jump! {this last word does not appear in a subtitle}

{Strong Bad disappears. Keyboard Strong Bad appears at the bottom left of the screen and dances while playing a tune.}

{Cut to a screen in the style of Puppet Stuff. Puppet Strong Bad is standing in front of the Strong Badia fence. The Tire and Stop Sign are visible. Strong Bad appears to the right. Music starts playing and both Strong Bads dance in sync with each other. After a moment, Strong Bad disappears again.}

{Cut to Da Huuuuuudge's Enclosure. Strong Bad appears lying down on top of it. He slowly slides down, then disappears.}

{Cut to the abandoned factory from highschool. Teenage Strong Bad is standing to the right. Strong Bad appears to the left.}

TEENAGE STRONG BAD: Stripéd pants.

{Strong Bad disappears. Cut to the interdimensional void, which changes colors constantly.}

STRONG BAD: {voice slightly distorted} The Cheat! Cool out on the liquefy button, man!

{Cut to a close-up of Homestar standing next to the blender in the Computer Room. The blender still contains the Game Boy, but now also contains a green substance. One and a half avocados are sitting on the desk, along with a jar that reads "Total Load". Homestar is pressing buttons on the blender.}

HOMESTAR RUNNER: I'm trying to make me a real fruit smoothie here!

{Cut to a wide shot. Tiny Handed Strong Bad is standing to the left, with Senor Cardgage, Old-Timey Strong Bad and Da Huuuuuudge to the right.}

HOMESTAR RUNNER: Any of you guys got any bee pollen?

{As Homestar presses another button, Strong Bad appears next to the portal and Strong Badman appears on the left side of the screen.}

STRONG BAD: Homestar! Quit messing with my alternate universe portal!

HOMESTAR RUNNER: {slowly} I'm trying to replenish some electrolytes, if you don't mind!

{Homestar presses another button on the blender. He and the portal both suddenly disappear, and Sterrance appears on the desk.}

STRONG BAD: {looking around} Wow. Just look at all these Strong Bad-related faces. What an all-star cast! What say we all form a supergroup and record a number one jam!

{All of the Strong Bad clones groan.}

STINKOMAN: {off-screen, simultaneously with Old-Timey Strong Bad} I guess...

OLD-TIMEY STRONG BAD: {simultaneously with Stinkoman} If we must.

{The screen fades to black, and then cuts to Strong Bad in a recording studio. Some music starts playing, and continues through the rest of the e-mail.}

STRONG BAD: {singing} There's a crazy world of e-mails in this crazy world. {Cut to a reversed view of Strong Bad.} Checkin' 'em down, checkin' 'em down...

STINKOMAN: {singing} I hope it's from a girrrrrrrl! <!-- This is not off-key, it is an unexpected note but it is quite correct and as in tune as any Strong Bad singing ever is. -->

:HOMESTAR RUNNER: {subtitled, in a fake backwards-sounding voice} Coach Z, if you're not going to eat that eyeball pear... {clears his throat, starts talking normally with no subtitles} I suggest you give it to someone who will.
:COACH Z: {distressed} I don't know what's going on, Homestar, but I'm not at liberty to discuss what I just did in my pants!

*At the end, click on Senor Cardgage's head to see Strong Bad's meeting with him:
:{Senor Cardgage is sitting in a boat on a lake, holding a stick with fishing line tied to the end, hanging over the side. Strong Bad appears in the boat.}
:STRONG BAD: Wow, a fishing trip with Senor Cardgage! My life is complete.
:SENOR CARDGAGE: Alonzo Mourning to you, Myrtlebeth. Say hello to my tacklebox. {holds up said tacklebox}
:STRONG BAD: Hello there, tacklebox. {smiles} I'm such a big fan.
:SENOR CARDGAGE: Well, if you could just sign right here on the dotty line, the adaption<!--sic!--> will be complete.
:STRONG BAD: You're gonna adopt me?
:{Strong Bad disappears}
:STRONG BAD: {offscreen and echoing slightly} Aw, man!
Fun Facts
Explanations
* A Doppelg&auml;nger refers either to a creature from folklore that mimics people's appearances as an omen of death, or to the theory that everyone in the world has someone else that looks exactly like them.
* Sarsaparilla (spelled incorrectly as "sarsparilla" in the flashback scene) is a type of plant used to make beverages, and is a common ingredient in root beer. It is more commonly pronounced "sass-parilla" than "sar-sparilla" or "sar-sa-parilla". It is also commonly misspelled "sasparilla".
* Rent control is a policy used in some urban communities where the market price is deemed too high. Rent controlled dwellings are highly coveted in the communities where they are available.
* Strong Bad's conversion of fourteen dollars into dog years refers to the often-confused (and inaccurate) folk formula that dogs age seven "years" for every human year.
*A freemason is a member of a fraternal men's organization such as the York Rite or the Scottish Rite. Other organizations permitting women and/or minors as members, including DeMolay, Job's Daughters, Eastern Star, etc., also fall under the umbrella of freemasonry.
*Electrolytes are solutions of ions (such as sodium and potassium salts) that are lost during perspiration. Drinks containing electrolytes, such as popular sports drinks, are often used to ease dehydration.
*Vaudeville is a style of multi-act theatre that flourished in North America from the 1880s to the 1920s, later succeeded by silent movies. Acts included anything from acrobats to mathematicians, from song-and-dance duos to trick high divers.
*The "Dig To China With Your Ears Contest" may be a reference to old cartoons of the 1930s through 1960s that involve characters going through the center of the earth in some way or another and coming out on the other side, ending up in China.
*A Supergroup is a musical group comprising artists who were previously members of earlier, well-known groups.

Trivia
*This email was the longest email when released, almost a full minute longer than flashback (previously the longest). However, retirement is longer.
*When Strong Bad jumps down several panels in the Strong Badman comic, he passes a panel containing an explosion (with the word "TADAOW!"), and another panel with Deutschman (from haircut) holding a chain of sausages. Deutschman is saying "KINDER UBERRASCHUNG!!", the German name for Kinder Surprise (though Uberraschung should be spelled &Uuml;berraschung).
*"Doge" can also mean, as stated in the dictionary, "the chief magustraeir in the former rebublics of Venice and Genoa".
*The label on the disk in the floppy disk container reads "weird dreams".
*This is the first time Stinkoman has been seen smiling without laughing.

Remarks
*Strong Bad has no visible nose or ears, despite the fact that those body parts were mentioned in this email.
*Senor Cardgage is the only one of Strong Bad's alter egos who had been seen talking with him prior to this email, as seen in kind of cool, garage sale, and Senorial Day.
*This is a rare occasion of Strong Bad being nice to Strong Sad.
*In Strong Bad is in Jail Cartoon, Strong Sad is seen writing with his right hand. However, in this email, Strong Sad is playing the guitar left-handed, though it is possible that Strong Sad is ambidextrous.
*Although it can be argued whether or not Stinkoman has actually smiled before, this is the first time his mouth has been recognizably smile-shaped.
*The puppet Strong Bad is the only doppelg&auml;nger Strong Bad visited that did not appear in the ending screen, for obvious reasons.
*This is the first time we hear the Da Huuuuuudge's voice.
*Frappé is spelled as "Frappe" when Strong Bad talks to The Cheat. It is lacking the accent.
*In the recording studio, the characters are using wireless microphones. While wireless microphones are handy in live performance (to prevent signal loss on a long cable run, as well as to avoid tangling of cables), they are actually rarely used in studio work because a cabled microphone will deliver truer fidelity.
*Homestar pronounces the word "fruit" without his usual speech impediment.
*During the Vector Strong Bad segment, the cartoon's border changes to red.
*Not all Strong Bad versions were included, such as his PBTC version.
<!-- Many Strong Bad variations were left out of this email, DO NOT LIST THEM HERE. -->

*When Strong Bad gets the root beer, the hole is now under the hammock; before, it was beside the hammock.

Goofs
*During the "Because, mere mortal" comic scene, the panel below the next panel has a blue background. In the next scene ("Is rent controlled!"), that panel now has a green background.
*The second time everyone says "Save the last email for Strong Bad", you can see that Strong Bad's pants have changed from black to dark navy, but not the pant legs. (Compare to Keyboard Strong Bad standing next to him.)
**This happens a few times in the email, such as when Strong Bad meets Vector Strong Bad.
*During the recording session at the end, the wall's grey spot pattern is made from a single image of dots copied and pasted multiple times. This results in some half dots appearing between the copied images.
*When Strong Bad first jumps into the Alternate Universe Portal, his stool disappears briefly while he's in the process of warping. It briefly reappears after Strong Bad leaves, but for the remainder of the email, the stool is missing.
*After cutting to the wide shot showing The Cheat with the blender, the Lappy's screen includes the text "Isn't that right, The Cheat?", even though Strong Bad didn't actually type it.
<!-- Old-Timey Strong Bad's scratch line appearing outside his body in the flashback scene is not a goof. This is a defining trait of Old-Timey characters appearing in non-Old-Timey universes. See "20X6 vs. 1936" for another example. -->

*In the "Save The Last Email" song, Vector Strong Bad is behind Strong Badman, yet his white and green lines appear above Strong Badman when talking/singing.
*In the "Dig to China with your ears contest" part, the starting line disappears when the camera cuts to the giant mug of root beer.
*At the beginning of the email, Strong Bad's reflection and himself are unsynchronized.

Fixed Goofs
*When the email was released, "girl" was misspelled as "gir" in Jody's email. This was fixed shortly thereafter.

Inside References
*Strong Bad saying that the "dig to China with your ears contest" is the second or third to worst contest he's ever heard of is a reference to bottom 10, where his least favorite contest is the "dry t-shirt" type of contest.
*Strong Bad's intro song refers to flipping the bird.
*Strong Sad was previously seen playing an acoustic guitar in a recent Sketchbook, although that guitar was a twelve-string. Here he plays a six-string classical guitar.

*The alternate dimension machine is a Game Boy in a Blender. In 2 emails, Homestar claims to have made a time machine by sticking a Game Boy in a blender while the email is fast-forwarding.
*This is another example of Mashing Go/Play.
*The "In a bulding" <!-- sic --> line, including its accent and pronunciation, is straight from the DVD Sketchbook (though it was spelled correctly there).
*Strong Bad visits many previous emails in his travels:
**Strong Badman and Stiny originated in superhero name.
**Deutschman originated in haircut.
**Vector Strong Bad is from video games.
**Stinkoman originated in japanese cartoon.
**Tiny-handed Strong Bad is from flashback.
**Keyboard Strong Bad originated in crazy cartoon and played the same song then as in this email. <!-- This tune and "Grumblecakes" happen to share the same first few notes. -->
**Da Huuuuuudge and Sterrance are both from animal.
**Teenage Strong Bad and the term "strip&egrave;d pants" are from highschool.
**Senor Cardgage originated in kind of cool.
*In addition, some of the music accompanying the scenes Strong Bad visits are also reused from other parts of the website. They include:
**The music from action figure; later used in suntan and army (during the Strong Badman scene).
**Old-Timey Strong Bad's theme music from Parsnips A-Plenty; later used in 50 emails (during the Old-Timey scene).
**The Homestar Runner's dance music (also during the Old-Timey scene).
**The synthesized drum tune from Main Page 21 (during the Vector Field scene).
**The music from flashback (during the Original Book scene).
**Keyboard Strong Bad's demo music from crazy cartoon.
**The weird music during Coach Z's dream scene from A Jorb Well Done; later used in lures & jigs (during the fishing Easter egg scene with Senor Cardgage).
**The creepy music during Strong Sad's storyboard scenes from Sbemail 150?!? (during the Coach Z Easter egg).
*The fence used for the puppet Strong Badia set is the same one used in Homestar vs. Other Little Girl.
*The Easter egg with coffee-drenched Coach Z and the eyeball pear begins exactly as described and storyboarded by Strong Sad in Sbemail 150?!?. Also, the word sesquicentenn-email, which would mean "150th email", was coined by Strong Sad in Sbemail 150?!?.
*The fishing boat, lake and background sounds are all from lures & jigs.
*The woman on Strong Badman's television is holding a Big Knife.
*"Doge" is a reference to Biz Cas Fri 1, where Homestar misspells the word "dog" ("dawg") the same way.
*This marks the second time in which characters from at least two different universes come together in one universe. The first time was in 20X6 vs. 1936, in which The Homestar Runner shows up on Planet K.
*Strong Bad comments that the "Dig To China With Your Ears Contest" is the "second or third to worst contest I ever heard of." The worst contests that originated in children's storybooks are likely to be the "Strongest Man in the World Contest" from the Original Book, and the "Ten Step Footrace" from flashback. <!--Dry T-Shirt contests, dance contests, jumping jack contests are not mentioned because the reference makes more sense if confined to storybook-originating contests.-->
*This is another appearance of the Dangeresque sunglasses.
*The word "VOIP" is a reference to the Visor Robot's sound effect from Teen Girl Squad Issue 1.
*Strong Bad previously mentioned "real fruit smoothies" in mascot when the team won the game.
*Homestar Runner's "real fruit smoothie" is another example of a concoction.
*Stinkoman's line in the song "I hope it's from a girl" is a reference to the e-mail song in dragon, "Every week I hope that it's from a female!".

Real-World References
* Cacodemons are evil spirits or demons, the opposite being an angel or "agathodemon". However, the name cacodemon is better known as the flying, red, one-eyed enemy from the Doom series of computer games. The plot for these games involved demons escaping hell via portals.
* Adobe Photoshop is a widely used image editor from Adobe Systems Incorporated. The term "Photoshopped" has come to mean any digital edit done to an image, even if it wasn't done in Photoshop itself. The term is often used pejoratively to say that something is rather obviously edited.
* The pronunciation "ohbee kaybee" for "okay" was frequently said by the character Mushmouth on the animated Fat Albert and the Cosby Kids.
* The way Strong Bad travels from panel to panel while visiting Strong Badman may be inspired by the videogame Comix Zone.
* She-Hulk is a comic book heroine from Marvel Comics and the cousin of The Incredible Hulk. She-Hulk comics were once noted for their fourth-wall breaks, similar to Strong Bad's comments on the quality of the Strong Badman comic and his ability to travel from panel to panel. These not-always-appreciated gags were introduced by writer John Byrne, who may be the "genius" Strong Bad ridicules.
* The surreal Coach Z Easter egg is an homage to a famous scene from the similarly surreal TV series, Twin Peaks. The background for the scene featured red drapes, and the starring character, Dale Cooper, spills coffee on himself, represented here by Coach Z's streaming hat of coffee. The unusual speech used by Homestar, meanwhile, was the hallmark of the scene; the actors actually spoke their dialogue backwards, and the recording was then played in reverse, so that the words were heard by the audience in their proper order (though they still sounded unusual and contorted, just as Homestar sounds here). It seems as though Matt Chapman faked this technique, rather than actually recording his lines backwards. Twin Peaks was co-created by director David Lynch, who Strong Sad cited as an influence in Sbemail 150?!?. Additionally, the phrase "I'm not at liberty to discuss [...]" is a direct lift from the lines of Major Garland Brigs, a character on Twin Peaks, who is often unable to talk about what he does for a living.
* Alonzo Mourning is an NBA basketball player.
*The phrase 'maxed and relaxed' may be a reference to the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air theme song, in which Will Smith states he is "maxin' and relaxin' all cool". Additionally, Smith uses the phrase throughout the series and his own raps.
*Stinkoman calls Strong Bad "big nose", a derogatory term used in eastern Asia to describe Westerners, whose noses tend to be genetically larger than Asians'. This is also a reference to the anime art style, where noses are less pronounced than most American cartoons.
* The all-star super group recording a number one jam calls to mind Band Aid (a collaboration of forty-four artists in the UK and Ireland organized by Bob Geldof, releasing the hit single "Do They Know It's Christmas?" in 1984, the profits from which were used for famine and disease relief in Africa) and the similar USA for Africa (a group of forty-five U.S. musicians that collaborated on the number one single "We Are the World" in 1985).
*The font in the comic book alternative universe, known as "Peanuts", was designed to emulate the style of lettering used in the Peanuts comics.
* The sound effect in the fishing Easter Egg that starts right after Strong Bad says "Wow, a fishing trip with Senor Cardgage!" is from Fishing With John.
<!--The Bob the Builder reference was declined. Please do not add it.-->
<!--VOIP is a common sound effect, and is not a reference to internet video phones or anything else.-->

Biography
Strong Sad is the youngest of the Brothers Strong. It is unclear how he was born, as his belly button (which normally indicates the removal of the umbilical cord shortly after birth) was apparently created by Strong Bad using a drill that he received for his birthday. He stands somewhere between Strong Bad and Strong Mad in height, and he has large, elephant-like feet he calls "soolnds". (In the past, poachers have apparently offered large sums of money to obtain Strong Sad's feet.) His body is round and is two shades of grey&mdash;a lighter grey from the waist up, and darker grey from the waist down. Strong Sad's body makes the sound of a red gym ball when hit&mdash;and according to Strong Sad, it is hit often. His head is white and has an odd lump on the top, referred to as a "disturbing soft-serve flip" by Strong Bad in keep cool (a trait shared by Mr. Bland). It is unclear whether or not he has teeth. Strong Bad claims that he doesn't, but Strong Sad was seen brushing his teeth in narrator. He is usually very calm and soft-spoken, although he has become hyperactive on occasion (at least once under the influence of caffeine), and he has also temporarily (and involuntarily) become a radio DJ once or twice. The phrase "Covered Bridges" seems to be able to put him in some type of trance, as seen in Fall Float Parade.

Strong Sad's main defining characteristic is his chronic depression&mdash;his high level of intelligence and creativity are almost always overshadowed by it. His many interests include listening, books, listening to books, calligraphy, safety, being alone, arts, crafts, and arts b/w crafts. He has outstanding handwriting and often uses it in writing poetry, which he then recites at his own "poetry slams". Strong Sad is seen using both his right and left hands to write and play the guitar, implying that he is ambidextrous. He has been seen practicing T'ai Chi. Strong Sad also enjoys playing board games (especially with other board games), and he seems to enjoy going to science-fiction and fantasy conventions, as seen in different town and '97. He has an iPod, and he occasionally updates his blog. Strong Sad's highly philosophical view on life has creeped out other characters more than once, most notably Strong Bad and Marzipan. Strong Sad may have a crush on Marzipan; he has occasionally lied to Marzipan just so he could spend time with her, as in Marzipan's Answering Machine Version 10.2. However, he might just be trying to make friends with anyone he can.

Strong Sad has a sort of "love-hate" relationship with his brother Strong Bad. It has been suggested that the two got along quite well when they were younger, but nowadays, Strong Sad suffers almost constant abuse from Strong Bad. (Nobody really knows why.) However, evidence from The Secrets That I Keep may suggest that even though Strong Sad outwardly insults Strong Bad, he looks up to him and misses the days when they got along. In particular, Strong Bad has quite a list of names he's used to insult Strong Sad. Strong Sad has also been the subject of numerous practical jokes by Strong Bad, Strong Mad and The Cheat, from being drilled a new navel by Lil' Strong Bad to being used as a stunt double for the Dangeresque movies to even having wildebeest pheromones washed into his laundry. In turn, Strong Sad often has a very low opinion of his brother and considers him to be a clueless weirdo, though nobody really seems to care most of the time what he thinks. Despite all of this, he seems to retain some degree of brotherly love toward his siblings: When the Tandy 400 exploded, Strong Sad asked Strong Bad if he was all right. Also, while Strong Bad was in jail, Strong Sad wrote him a letter wishing him well, and adding that his brother's absence caused him to feel far happier with himself than usual and also that while Strong Bad was gone, he turned his brother's computer room into his tai chi space. He was also eager to help Strong Bad with his 150th e-mail in Sbemail 150?!? (he actually managed to provide the background music for Strong Bad's email intro in alternate universe).

Strong Sad's troubled relationship with Strong Bad seems to extend to the rest of the community in Free Country, USA as well. He is generally reclusive and has only a few friends&mdash;his best friend appears to be Homsar, and he plays Jenga with The Cheat on Tuesdays. Early in the site's history, Homestar Runner even counted Strong Sad as a friend, and still shows some signs of friendship towards him. He is often overlooked and ignored when he has an idea, and he is sometimes even believed to be dead. Despite all of this, he serves as a loyal officer in the Homestarmy, and a Strong Sad Lookalike Contest is held in his honor/insult each year.
Lurking
Strong Sad has often been identified as a lurker, or has been associated with lurking.

{Open with a black screen.}

STRONG SAD: I don't wanna do a characters page!

MARZIPAN: Oh, come on, you can do it!

{The lens cap is removed, and Strong Sad appears as the camera focuses on him.}

STRONG SAD: I'm not really comfortable talking to a camera.

MARZIPAN: {offscreen} Just pretend like you're talking to me, or a wall, or a tree, or any of the other stuff that you usually talk to.

STRONG SAD: Ohhhhhh! My name's Strong Sad and... I have two brothers that like to pummel me every hour, on the hour. I mostly sit in my room, and... listen to music, and write, {begins tracing his finger along the edge of the screen} and talk to walls or trees... {stops touching the edge of the screen} and wait to be pummeled... I guess I like board games more than most people. And by that I mean I like to play board games more than most people do. But by that I also mean I like board games more than I like most people. Like this one time, me and Hi-Ho Cherry-O! were playing The Game of Life, and I got a phone call from... Coach Z or somebody. And, I didn't answer it because I was having such a good time with playing this board game, against this other board game...

MARZIPAN: {off-screen, losing patience} Okay, I think that's enough, Strong Sad.

STRONG SAD: And it got me to thinking, you know?

MARZIPAN: Okay, okay, I'm turning it off now.

STRONG SAD: {simultaneously} Two lovers... collide...

{The camera stops.}

Fun Facts
* Matt Chapman has said that Strong Sad is the most difficult character to voice due to how delicate he sounds. If Matt strains his voice too much before recording, he actually can't do Strong Sad at all (which led to Mike substituting for Strong Sad's one word in cheat talk).
* Strong Sad breaks the fourth wall by saying he doesn't want to do a "character page", and by running his finger up and down the left border of the screen. The actual wall of his room is much further off to the side, as evidenced by the poster in the background.
* The odd lump on top of Strong Sad's head gives him a similar appearance to some of the secondary characters in Casper the Friendly Ghost.
* In Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, Draco Malfoy calls Hagrid "elephant-man".
<!-- Please do not add a reference to the Zoloft mascot - the Zoloft bouncing head was designed well after Strong Sad's head, so this is a coincidence, not a reference. -->
* Strong Sad used to have an AOL Instant Messenger screenname of "depressio222". A fan registered the name, and after many questions as to why the Brothers Chaps had not reserved it beforehand, Strong Sad's IM changed to "depressio111117".

Remarks
*The controls for the arms refer to the viewer's left and right, not Bubs'.
*When you choose legs #7, and head #4, Bubs' bigger eye will shift from one eye to the other.

Glitches
*When you choose legs #1 and #4, the legs will be temporarily disconnected from Bubs.
*When you choose legs #7, Bubs' eyes and mouth will be reversed when he leans to the side. You can see this in the image above.

Inside References
*Spray painted on the rear wall of the third "breakdancing" background (with the cardboard and jambox) is the word "Prance."

Fast Forward
*Banjo reappears in little questions.
*Bubs uses moves from this game in the dance contest in replacement and his character video.
*Bubs mentions in No Hands On Deck! that he "likes to dance" and then breaks out in the spin and flip.

To find the Homsar Main Page click on the last digit on the copyright date on any main page (except the Luau Main Page). It's also accessible via an Easter Egg at the end of the Strong Bad Email interview. It's Homsar, being random as usual. Notice that the navigation buttons are all staggered and askew instead of arranged neatly along the white line.

Page title: "LEGITIMATE MENU PAGE!"
Icon: Homsar

Button Effects
*Toons — Bubbles come out of his mouth when he says, "ToOoOons!"
*Games — He says, "James!" and gets hit with a Heavy Lourde, inspired by the email homsar.
*Characters — He says, "Kelsey Grammer," gets a mustache (which he keeps until you roll over another button), and a dinosaur appears with a sign that says "BEAT STATE!" wrapped around its back.
*Downloads — He says, "Thank you," as a boat goes by backwards in the background and toots its horn in reverse.
*Store — He says, "Legitimate Business!" and Strong Sad comes up and says, "How did you get up there? I don't think this is a very good idea."
*Email — Homsar wails, "AaAaAaAaAaAaA!" and the background waves insanely behind him until the cursor is moved.

Trivia
*The URL for the page ends "memorabilia.html".

Glitches
*When you roll over the "Games" link and roll off quickly, Homsar's hat will jump up and then momentarily disappear. The weight will not crash down on him.
*When you roll over the "Store" link and Strong Sad says "How did you get up there? I don't think this is a very good idea." his mouth keeps moving for several frames after he stops talking.
**This only happens with Flash Player 8 or higher. With Flash Player 7, the timing is correct.

Inside References
*The Downloads boat is the same one from Main Page 3.

Real-World References
*Kelsey Grammer is an actor best known for his role as Frasier Crane on Cheers and its spinoff Frasier. In the opening credits of Cheers, his name was displayed over an antique photograph of a mustachioed man wearing a bowler hat and drinking a beer.

Fast Forward
*The word "James" is used instead of "games" again in redesign when Strong Bad uses the green screen to play Sundae Drivin'. When he loses, the screen says "your james over".
*The scream Homsar makes when you roll over email is the same scream Homsar makes in his character video.

Page title: "Homestar Runner must be dead!"

Button Effects
*Toons - Homestar plays a lyre.
*Games - A green, scaly, clawed hand, surrounded by fire, reaches up through the clouds and a roar is heard.
*Characters - Three planes from an air show fly by, trailing red, white and blue streaks.
*Downloads - Homestar plays the lyre again, but a string breaks.
*Store - One of the planes crashes through the clouds.
*Email - Strong Bad walks by singing, "Keep on knockin' on Heaven's door." He then falls through the clouds and yells, "Holy crap..."

Fun Facts
Goofs
*Strong Bad's animation is improperly lip-synced: He shouts "Holy crap!" a split-second before he begins falling through the clouds.
*When Strong Bad is singing, his mouth doesn't move.
*If you roll over the Email button twice, the animation will start over, but the sound will remain and overlap a second instance of itself.

Fixed Goofs
*If you rolled over Email and Games at the same time, a white square overlapping Strong Bad was visible, where the frame of the demon's hand is. This was later corrected, although the white square is still visible.

Real-World References
*The song Strong Bad is singing is "Knocking On Heaven's Door," a classic song by Bob Dylan.
*The three planes are probably F/A-18 Super Hornets, the jets used by the U.S. Navy's Blue Angels.
<!-- Please to be not mentioning anything relating to the fact that the claw and the hole Strong Bad falls through are in roughly the same location. -->
{Open to Stinkoman training in the field.}

STINKOMAN: {punches the air} Hah hah hah hah hah hah hah! {kicks the air} Hya hya hya hya hya hya hya!

{The Homestar Runner walks up, kicking his can. The can taps Stinkoman's foot.}

STINKOMAN: Waah! {jumps} Who are you?

THE HOMESTAR RUNNER: I'm the Homestar Runner.

STINKOMAN: That name is dumb. It sounds like it is soooo dumb.

THE HOMESTAR RUNNER: Well, what's your moniker?

STINKOMAN: I go by Stinkoman. That's the name of talented fighter if ever there was one.

THE HOMESTAR RUNNER: Okay, if you say so. Would you care for some dry meal? {pulls out a bag of dry meal which makes a dry wheezing sound}

STINKOMAN: No way! I'm training for fighting, or maybe a challenge. So what's that thing you're kicking around?

THE HOMESTAR RUNNER: Oh, that's just an old can of water soup. I kick it around ever since {sadly} my dog worshed away in the storm of '28.

STINKOMAN: You seem like you might not be from around here. Do you have any special powers?

THE HOMESTAR RUNNER: I can play a mean worshboard. {pulls out a washboard that says "worsh it" and plays it}

STINKOMAN: {flinches} What is that? What is that? Some kinda robot?

THE HOMESTAR RUNNER: What's a robit?

STINKOMAN: You don't know what a robot is? Hahaha! You're so dumb! Hahaha! Dumb.

THE HOMESTAR RUNNER: Oh, go soak your fat head.

STINKOMAN: Are you asking for a CHALLEENGE? {starts to power up}

THE HOMESTAR RUNNER: Yes sir. Yes sir I am.

STINKOMAN: {jumps high into the air} DOUBLE DEUCE!!!!

THE HOMESTAR RUNNER: {pulls out a pea shooter and shoots at him} Ptooie. {hits Stinkoman in the eye}

STINKOMAN: {falls to the ground} Ow! My eye! It's like, my eye! It hurts so bad!

THE HOMESTAR RUNNER: Well, folks, you know what that means. Now I'll do a dance. {starts dancing}

STINKOMAN: Hahaha! That dance cracks me up! Hahaha! You gotta teach me!

THE HOMESTAR RUNNER: Just hafta shimmy and shake.

STINKOMAN: Yeah! Now I've got it! {starts dancing}

Remarks
*The Old-Timey scratch line behaves irregularly:
**Sometimes it sticks out of The Homestar Runner's body; other times it doesn't even reach the edge.
**There is no scratch line on The Homestar Runner's feet, hat propellor, or worshboard.
**During part of the toon the dry meal sack has a scratch line (independent of The Homestar Runner's), but for the rest of the toon it does not.
**Sometimes, when The Homestar Runner is sideways or slanted (toward the end when he's saying "20X6"), the scratch line is too.

Inside References
*Stinkoman asking "What is that? Some kinda robot?" is a possible reference to the Strong Bad Email some kinda robot.
*The page title, "CHALLENGE AND FIGHTING!!", refers to the Stinkoman theme song, which contains the words "Challenge and fighting and fighting and challenge tonight..."
*The Homestar Runner kicking a can around is a reference to the series of cartoons in Kick the Can.

Real-World References
*The kicking attack Stinkoman practices bears a strong resemblance to Chun Li's lightning kick attack from the Street Fighter 2 series.
*A hurricane struck Florida in September 1928 and is often referred to as "The Storm of '28" or the "Lake Okeechobee" hurricane.

Commentary Transcript
(Commentary by: Mike Chapman, Matt Chapman)

MIKE CHAPMAN: Ooh, a nice little title screen there.

MATT CHAPMAN: Oh, these are always fun to do. Mixing the weird, different universes of the Homestar Runner world.

MIKE CHAPMAN: Yes. This was the first&mdash;Was this the first thing that Stro&mdash;Stinkoman was in after the japanese cartoon email?

MATT CHAPMAN: Yeah, I think so. This was the first fleshing out of his character a little bit. {pauses} I like how Old-Timey Homestar Runner has scratchies only on him&mdash;

MIKE CHAPMAN: Yeah.

MATT CHAPMAN: &mdash;and his voice.

MIKE CHAPMAN: And&mdash;and his audio?

MATT CHAPMAN: Yeah.

MIKE CHAPMAN: I think Old-Timey Homestar Runner is my favorite character.

MATT CHAPMAN: What do you think Old-Timey Homestar Runner's dog's name was, Mike?

MIKE CHAPMAN: Um...

MATT CHAPMAN: Old something?

MIKE CHAPMAN: {laughs} Yeah. Old Eyelids? Cause he had eyelids? {Matt laughs} His eyelids were really big, actually.

MATT CHAPMAN: Okay. They droop down off his face?

MIKE CHAPMAN: {laughs} Yeah. Instead of having big droopy jowls, he had big droopy eyelashes. Wait, what did I say? Eyelids, not eyelashes.

MATT CHAPMAN: Yeah. You think there's an anime name for those mushroomy things? Yeah, it's been like that.

MIKE CHAPMAN: Really?

MATT CHAPMAN: That's terrible. It looks really bad.

MIKE CHAPMAN: An anime name for the mushrooms?

MATT CHAPMAN: Yeah.

MIKE CHAPMAN: I do think there's a name for them, but I can't think of what it might be right now.

MATT CHAPMAN: {laughs} There's the snot&mdash; There's the snot bubble. There's the tear that comes up the side of your face. And then there's the weird, angry mushroom when you're laughing.

MIKE CHAPMAN: They mean something to someone, but not to me.

MATT CHAPMAN: Get down.

MIKE CHAPMAN: It's like the end of the pale green pants.

MATT CHAPMAN: Yeah.

MIKE CHAPMAN: Hello?

MATT CHAPMAN: Hello?

MIKE CHAPMAN: Hello?

MATT CHAPMAN: Hello!

MIKE CHAPMAN: And... keep playing here. We're gonna fade it out.

Transcript
{We see Strong Bad at the Compy 386 playing Peasant's Quest. He has a score of -38 and is in the area with Kerrek.}

STRONG BAD: Uh, let's see here... {typing} Make friends with Kerrek.

{A message pops up. It reads, "The Kerrek says he has enough friends already. And he doesn't like your short, short pants." His score also drops to -40.}

STRONG BAD: What the!? (presses enter} Um... {typing} Buy Kerrek a cold one.

{Kerrek smashes him on the head. There is another message. It reads, "The Kerrek is a teetotaller and is offended by your offer. He pounds your head into the ground. You dead." His score also drops to -45.}

STRONG BAD: WHAT?! Oh man... Stupid game! {types "quit." A message says, "You quitter."} I guess I should do the thing... that I do. {pulls up the a> sign and types "strongbad_email.exe"} {Reading}

<blockquote class="email">Coolest guy ever - - - Strong Bad,<br />
I've been wondering if you ever<br />
thought of making your own television<br />
series? Kids everywhere would love<br />
you, and your awesomeness.<br />
<br />
Allison , NJ</blockquote>

{Strong Bad reads "- - -" as "henna henna henna". After reading the greeting, he says, "Whoa! Three hennas! Must be an important one!" After the comma in the last sentence, he says "unnecessary comma," and he pronounces "Allison" as "All is on"}

STRONG BAD: {typing} Television?!! Kids?!! Wait, do you people think I'm intended for children? Like, the littlest, tiniest babies? You know, they watch those shows on public television. I don't think I'm cut out for that sort of sugarjob.

{Cut to a piece of yellow paper of the sort used to teach kindergartners writing. Strong Bad is superimposed on it with a rocket launcher/bazooka, a monster with horns, a bunny with fangs, and a creature that resembles a man sticking its tongue out drawn in crayon around him.}

STRONG BAD: {Smiling beatifically} Okay, kids, we're gonna play "Where's The Cheat?". Can you say, "a-The Cheat"?

KIDS: {half incoherent} The Cheat. {one child mumbles} Christopher Columbus.

STRONG BAD: Not good enough. F minus minus.

{"F--" appears on the screen. The DELETED buzzer is heard. Cut back to Strong Bad. Behind him are a tree and an open box. A toilet is in front of him.}

STRONG BAD: All right, dumb children. {rubs his hands together} Find The Cheat!

{The Cheat comes out from behind the box.}

KIDS: {say things like "He's over there," or "Right there." They continue saying this.}

STRONG BAD: Um, no, he's behind the box. {Turns around and points to The Cheat} No, uh, he's not even behind the box, he's barely obscured by the box. {turns around} Look, The Cheat is behind the freaking box!!

{Kids stop talking and the music soundtrack screeches to a halt accompanied by a record scratch. Strong Bad breathes heavily, then comes closer to the viewer, and starts screaming manically}

STRONG BAD: HE'S BEHIND THE BOX! I'LL KILL YOU!! I'LL KILL ALL YOUR DOGS<!-- It's dogs, not dolls, as revealed in the DVD commentary. -->!!

{Cut back via a change of TV channels to Strong Bad at the Compy 386}

STRONG BAD: So, you can see how that might be less than pleasant. What with all the letter writing and the angry mothers and the subsequent stringing me up in town square for all to see. But you know who's a natural for that sorta thing? None other than America's favorite blue midget Homestar: Homsar!!

{Cut to an all-white scene. Homsar comes through a faraway door. He walks closer to the viewer and stops.}

KIDS: Whaddaya know, Haddi-man?

{As the words are sung, they are shown one by one at the bottom of the viewer's screen. A caricature of Homsar rides by from right to left in a boat with a flag. The background is light green, with white, yellow, purple and green flowers spinning counter-clockwise. His shirt says "if you lived here you'd be home"}

MAN: We'll have an adventure, and several long trips. We'll make some new friends&mdash;

{Smiling, multi-ethnic children appear behind Homsar as he sails left off the screen}

MAN: &mdash;and maybe get a bite to eat!!!

{An orange with "abc" on it appears. Seven Homsar silhouettes now fan like a hand of cards from left to right, and then disappear in reverse order.}

MAN: All 'cause we say...

{A red silhouette of Homsar with the flag from the boat appears. White liquid spills onto the screen. A logo that says "Whaddaya Know Haddi-man?" with a second caricature of Homsar on it appears.}

KIDS: Whaddaya know, Haddi-man?

{The real Homsar pops up on the left side of the screen in the lower left corner.}

HOMSAR: DaAaAaA! I'm a trendy tote bag!

{Cut to a tan scene. Homsar disappears and reappears in various places, accompanied by raspberry noises. When he stops in the left half of the foreground, a blue lower case "g" appears beside him.}

KIDS: A "G"!

HOMSAR: I'm not gonna lie to you, that's a healthy piece of real estate!

KIDS: A "G"!

{Cut to a purple background with a seated, mustachioed man playing a guitar. As the words are sung, they appear on the screen.}

MAN: Stave it off, 1-2-3, and now you can count to three.

HOMSAR: That's a real popular song! Who wants to hear of it fifty times more?

KIDS: {shouts of approval}

{Cut to the previous screen. Now we see two of the guitar-playing people, one in a darker shade superimposed behind the other. Again, as the words are sung, they appear on the screen.}

MAN: Stave it off, 1-2-3, and now you can count to three.

{The darker shaded guitarist is suddenly upside-down, and the song is repeated as are the words on the screen.}

MAN: Stave it off, 1-2-3, and now you can count to three.

{Cut back to the Compy via a channel change.}

STRONG BAD: {typing} Good gravy. {Spoken: GOOD... GRAVY.} I've got two words for the children that are raised on that crap: HELD BACK. REPEATING THE THIRD GRADE. LOW STANDARDIZED TEST SCORES. I GUESS THIS WAS MORE THAN TWO WORDS. THE PAPER, PLEASE TAKE US HOME.

{The Paper comes down.}
Fun Facts
Explanations
*A person who practices total abstinence from alcoholic beverages is called a teetotaller.

Remarks
*The commands Strong Bad uses in Peasant's Quest were not originally part of the game but were added after this email debuted.
**Typing "make friends with kerrek" results in the message "Look, it didn't work for Strongbad [sic] and it's not gonna work for you either."
**Typing "buy kerrek a cold one" results in the message "The Kerrek is a teetotaller and is offended by your request. You've really cheesed him off now." Also, the Kerrek begins moving twice as fast.
*It is impossible to get a negative score in the real game, despite Strong Bad's miserable showing.
*In Peasant's Quest Preview, it is said the maximum requirements for Peasant's Quest are a 286 CGA enabled PC. The Compy, judging by its name, contains a 386 processor.
*The positions of the crayon graphics in the first scene are all rearranged when the scene zooms in on SB's face.
*If the "Stave it off" song were really looped 50 times (including the pause heard in the email) it would last for 6 minutes, 10 seconds.
*As Homsar says the word "trendy," his hat changes in size; first larger, then smaller, then back to normal.

Goofs
*When Homsar talks after the lowercase "g" shows up (complete with various head movements and hat flyings, as per usual), his shadow stays still.

Glitches
*When Strong Bad is playing Peasant's Quest, the Contrast knob has no effect on any of the black text on the screen except for the game messages (i.e. "You quitter.").

Inside References
*The sounds that Homsar makes when he opens the door is the same sound when the door closes in The House That Gave Sucky Treats.

Real-World References
*The fake show hosted by Strong Bad is a spoof of many children's shows; the kids heard shouting the answers to Strong Bad's questions are taken from the show Blue's Clues. Strong Bad's show is actually a strange reversal of Blue's Clues; in Blue's Clues the kids know all the answers to the questions asked but the host is completely clueless.
*The way Homsar enters and walks closer to the viewer is from the British kids' show "Bod". This is likely, as The Brothers Chaps have claimed that Bod was one of their influences.
*The noise Homsar makes when he teleports around are similar to noises on the PBS show Boohbah.
*The Guitar Playing Man bears a striking resemblance to folk singer James Taylor. Taylor has made numerous appearances on the children's TV program Sesame Street, often singing educational songs.
**He also bears a resemblance to Fred Penner and Jim Croce.
*Homsar asking the kids if they want to "hear of (the song) 50 times more" may be a reference to the BBC show Teletubbies, in which whenever a "real-life" clip is shown, it is always repeated per request of the Teletubbies.
*The "letter of the day" feature in Homsar's show is reminiscent of Sesame Street, which ends each show with the mock sponsorship, "Sesame Street was brought to you ... by the letter __!"

Fast Forward
*The "All Is On" song from this email is used again in the Easter egg for extra plug.
*The words "Stave it off, 1, 2, 3..." were used again in the email virus.
*Whaddaya Know, Haddi-Man? is heard in the background in secret identity.
*Part of the song played in the "Where's the Cheat?" part of the sbemail is heard in the Very, Very Little Girl easter egg in Summer Short Shorts.

Commentary Transcript
(Commentary by: Matt Chapman, Mike Chapman, Ryan Sterritt on guitar)

{Ryan’s guitar playing throughout the commentary}

MATT: You’re listening to the smooth, sultry, sounds of the Strong Bad DVD commentary.

RYAN: Dim the lights, Matt. Who’s on lights? Matt are you on lights?

MIKE: I know one thing for sure.

MATT: What’s that, Mike?

MIKE: Ryan Sterrit’s on the guitar right now.

RYAN: {over Mike} Oooooohhhhhhhh yyyyyyeeeeeaaaaaahhh.

MATT: What’s that Ryan?

RYAN: Hey um&mdash; re&mdash; re&mdash;

MIKE: {over Ryan} Make it sing. Make it sing.

RYAN: Regarding the P&mdash; the Peasant’s Quest thing we&mdash; or&mdash; before the email or just after we went back and added the phrases.

MATT: {over Ryan} Those two commands.

MIKE: Oh, into the game.

RYAN: Yes.

MIKE: Oh.

MATT: And you’d get the same responses, right?

RYAN: Y&mdash; something like that. Something similar.

MATT: Or maybe&mdash; no.

MIKE: Oh no, that’s right.

RYAN: {yelling} Check&mdash; Try&mdash; Try it out at home.

MIKE: Yeah.

RYAN: Find out yourselves.

MATT: Give it a shot.

RYAN: I’m sorry. I’m not being sufficiently jazzy in my role.

MATT: No! We’re all err&mdash;

MIKE: Hey it’s all good. It’s all hot.

MATT: Everything&mdash; we’re all a family here at Strong Bad Email. This is a little technique I used to make look like crayon drawing Flash it’s the&mdash; it’s the stippled stroke. There’s a stroke in your stroke tool all you Flash animators at home.

MIKE: Stroke.

MATT: It looks sort of like pebbles. Just do several different layers of it and maybe cut and paste the same layer, move it up a little bit. Instant crayon.

MIKE: {imitating child in the email} Christopher Columbus!

RYAN: Wait&mdash; wait, this is where Strong Bad gets violent.

MIKE: Yeah this is gonna be good contrast to&mdash; here...

MATT: Yeah. I don’t think&mdash; I don’t think I wanna watch this part.

MIKE: Strong Bad! Calm down, man!

MATT: You need to cool out, Strong Bad.

RYAN: Does he say, "I’ll kill all you dogs"?

MATT: Yeah.

RYAN: Or "all your dolls?"

MIKE AND MATT: Dogs.

RYAN: That’s what I thought he said.

MATT: He’s ang&mdash; he’s angry. It’s a little rough. There’s some kids at home who I don’t think could handle that.

RYAN: Yeah. It’s like&mdash; it’s like the new Star Wars episodes. Not suitable for children.

MATT: That’s what I hear. The world’s most childish...

MIKE: Hey Ryan. How ‘bout some more finger picking. {Ryan plays a little more} Thank you. That’s nice.

MATT: This is a, uh&mdash; this is a sweet intro I think to Homsar’s show.

MIKE: Yeah. I really wanna make this show, or at least watch it. I don’t want to make it. I wanna watch it.

RYAN: I like the, um, the construction paper appearance in this.

MATT: Yeah. Those kids and that orange&mdash; that orange I wanna snack on.

MIKE: Those kids are diverse.

MATT: They are! {talks over Mike} They’re from all over the world, Mike.

MIKE: {talks over Matt} There’s some diversity in those kids.

MATT: Haddi-man is accepting of all cultures.

{short pause}

MIKE: And fart noises.

{all laugh}

MIKE: {laughing} I wonder&mdash;

RYAN: &mdash;like a&mdash; statistical analysis on the number of, uh, fart noises or toilets or something like that delay this 1:30.

MATT: Is there?

RYAN: I don’t know. There’s the toilet and the claymation thing that&mdash; there’s probably a lot! Not that you guys resort to&mdash;

MATT: Who’s uncle? That’s&mdash; that’s Ryan right now. Looks just like that guy.

MIKE: He does! His legs crossed like that!

MATT: He’s got his legs crossed, tapping one foot.

MIKE: You need to put some socks on underneath your flip-flops.

{short pause}

MATT: Me! Me! Me! Me! That’s my favorite kid that’s in the background&mdash;

RYAN: Is he wearing sandals and socks?

MIKE: I don’t think he is, but I always sort of interpreted those weird lines around his foot as that.

RYAN: Hey guys, I’m sorry if I was implying that you guys do a lot of potty humor.

MIKE: Yeah. We’re gonna cut this out&mdash; we’re gonna cut you out of the DVD.

{all laugh}

RYAN: But, I’m not in the DVD.

MATT: You are in the DVD actually.

MIKE: You are cut out!

MATT: Umm&mdash;

RYAN: Nothing to cut.

{short pause}
STRONG BAD: {singing} Oh, traipsing along, traipsing traipsing along, and a email got stuck in my eye.

{reading}

<blockquote class="compy email">Hey there Strong Bad!<br />
I was thinking since so many people<br />
and ladies think you're SUPER COOL,<br />
why not build a monument to yourself<br />
for all to enjoy?<br />
<br />
Another fan,<br />
Kaitlin G.</blockquote>

{Strong Bad puts an emphasis on "SUPER COOL".}

STRONG BAD: {typing} I'm assuming the G stands for generally overused girl's first name. Well generic name, you're really onto something here. Turns out I AM super cool. {He clears his throat.} As for monuments, I already got one. But it's kinda {He clears the screen and continues typing.} only of my right foot. You might know it better as DUN DUN DAAA: The Strong Badia Sign!

{Cut to the Stop Sign, then to a picture of Strong Bad. As he narrates, a diagram of the monument is built.}

STRONG BAD: {voiceover} Yeah, there were big plans once. It was to be made of the finest materials. On a massive scale that would rival the Aztecs and their...techno-chocolate land.

{Cut back to the Compy.}

STRONG BAD: {typing} Anyways, we lost our funding or public interest waned or something distracted me. Man, what was it? What could possibly have distracted me from {mumbling} humbera hum...

{Cut to Strong Badia, where Strong Bad and The Cheat are building the monument.}

STRONG BAD: Oh yeah, The Cheat. That totally looks like my right foot. It's got all the rightness of a foot without all the footdom of a right.

UNSEEN CHORUS: {singing} Here comes the Thnikkaman!!!

{These words float across the screen.}

STRONG BAD: No way! Check it out The Cheat. {Strong Bad looks and points off-screen.} It's the Thnikkaman!!

{Strong Bad and The Cheat run to meet the Thnikkaman, who is obviously Bubs wearing sunglasses and a "TH" sign taped to his chest.}

STRONG BAD: Hey, Thnikkaman!

THNIKKAMAN: Hey, kid!

STRONG BAD: Can we have some?

THNIKKAMAN: Yeah, okay.

STRONG BAD and THE CHEAT (in Cheat-speak): Thanks, Thnikkaman!

STRONG BAD: {He says this in a low voice, perhaps translating for The Cheat.} Thanks, Thnikkaman.

THNIKKAMAN: Yeah. {takes off his sunglasses} Shut up, kid!

UNSEEN CHORUS: {singing} There goes the Thnikkaman!!!

{Now these words float across the screen. Strong Bad and The Cheat look at each other, Strong Bad's mouth is agape. Thnikkaman exits. Cut back to Compy 386.}

STRONG BAD: {typing} So you can see why I got distracted. I'd like to see you stay on task when you're starin' down the barrel of a loaded Thnikkaman. I don't care what you're doin. No one can resist. {not typing} Speakin' of monuments, somebody should make one to the Thnikkaman. Oh the things that man does! Come to think of it, what exactly does that man do? {typing again} Anyways, I'm gonna go try and find some of that Technochocolate. That stuff sounds a-prettypretty good!

{Strong Bad gets up from his seat and leaves. The Paper comes down.}
*Click on "I don't care what you're doin" at the end to see Homestar Runner being distracted by the Thnikkaman.
:HOMESTAR RUNNER: Well, I'll just, uh, put these pants on—
:{He drops the trousers and runs off to the left.}
:HOMESTAR RUNNER: {He pokes his head back onscreen, singing.} Here comes the Thnikkaman!
*Click on "technochocolate" at the end to hear Strong Bad and The Cheat do a chocolate version of Techno. The Cheat throws a one-man lightswitch rave.
Fun Facts
Trivia
*This email used to be accessible through http://www.thnikkaman.com, but the site is now deleted.

Remarks
*During the "technochocolate" Easter egg, the tiny sign above the lower light switch that The Cheat uses says: "The Cheat," as his switch in techno does.
*When Homestar is about to put on the pants, his legs are placed in the wrong place.
*During the Technochocolate Easter egg, the beat Strong Bad is making overlaps with him saying "Technochocolate".
*When Homestar is about to put his pants on, the words "here comes the Thnikkaman" doesn't fly across the screen.
*After Homestar hears The Thnikkaman coming during the "I don't care what you're doin'" Easter egg, his legs are much farther back from his torso.

Goofs
*Strong Bad forgets the period after "distracted" near the end when he says, "So you can see why I got distracted".
*The Enter-sound when Strong Bad cuts the email away to answer it does not play completely. It has a dead end.
*Strongs Bad's voice in the "technochocolate" Easter egg is not on beat.
*Homestar Runner's legs don't line up with his body in the "Thnikkaman" Easter egg.

Inside References
*Some of the things composing Strong Bad's monument are from other toons: the "Pie Factory" is from stunt double, the palm tree is from island, and the toilet paper and the fake afro (from Homestar's John McEnroe costume) are from 3 Times Halloween Funjob.
*The fact that Homestar is attempting to put on pants and then, after being distracted, doesn't put them on, is in reference to the ongoing joke about Homestar not wearing any pants (which is discussed in long pants).
*The Cheat threw a "Light Switch Rave" to Strong Bad's "The System is Down" song in the email techno; in interview, the viewer can flick the lightswitch himself to turn on the spinning lights.

Real-World References
*Techno-chocolate-land is an attempt to pronounce Tenochtitlan, the capitol city and religious center of the ancient Aztecs (actually pronounced teh-nohtch-tee-TLAHN), built where Mexico City is today. The inclusion of "chocolate" in the mispronunciation may be due to the fact that the Aztecs are often credited for the discovery of chocolate.
*Big Green Egg is a combination ceramic barbecue/meat smoker.
*Blow Pops are lollipops with a center of bubblegum, made by the Charms candy company (now owned by Tootsie Roll Industries).
Fast Forward
*Technochocolate reappears in extra plug, rock opera, geddup noise, and disconnected as a club.
*Even though Strong Bad does apparently not recognise Bubs when the Thnikkaman removes his shades, Coach Z believes in cliffhangers, that removing the Thnikkaman's glasses will reveal his secret identity.
Marzipan's Greeting
MARZIPAN: {breathily} Hi, this is Marzipan. I'm feeling very vivacious today. Please leave me a message.

Message 6
STRONG BAD: {Imitating Marzipan} Oh, Hello, Marzipan. Uh, this is you&mdash;Marzipan&mdash;calling yourself, like you do all the time, because you're so stupid. Uh... I just wanted to call to tell you to, uh, punch Homestar Runner in the face as many times as you can, um, and as hard as you can. Oh. And also, start calling yourself... um... Uglypan... from now on. That's what everybody gonna call h-you, um, uh, me. Okay, I'm a see you tonight -- because I'm you!

Message 5
BUBS: Hello, Marzipan, it's Bubs! Uh, I was just calling to see if maybe you wanted to, uh... you know, maybe get together sometime, uh, grab a bite to eat or somethin'. Or maybe just come on down to the Concession Stand. I could give you a snow cone, uh... uh, you know, just nothin' formal, just, uh, two friends getting together, you know. Anyways, uh, it gets kind of lonely back here behind the Concession Stand, so... uh, gimme a call back, maybe we can, uh, set somethin' up, okay! Uh, no need to mention this to Homestar or anything, no reason, but, uh, alright I'll talk to ya later.

Message 4
HOMESTAR RUNNER: Oh, hey, Marzipan! It's Homestar, and um... did Bubs try to call you? Because, he was asking me for your phone number, and, like acting all weird, and asking me all these questions about you, like if you've got an open mind and stuff. And I don't know what it was about, I mean, maybe he just wants you to sell those fundraiser candy bars for him again, I don't know. But, anyways, he's probably gonna call you. Okay, bye.

Message 3
COACH Z: Hey, there, Marzipan. It's, uh, it's Coach Z here. Just callin' to see what's up. I just wonderin' if maybe you needed somebody to go get donuts with sometime, 'cause you know, I, uh... I don't see Homestar... gettin' any donuts, so maybe, you know, you need somebody else to go get donuts with, there, and, I'm your man. Uh, so give me a call there if you want to. Uh, we'll go and have donuts. Okay, uh, no reason to, uh, mention this to Homestar, you know... uh, just you and me goin' to get donuts! Okay, then. Good day!

Message 2
HOMESTAR RUNNER: Okay, okay, okay. Marzipan, this is really weird! Coach Z just asked for your number, um, so I guess he's probably gonna call you, too. I don't know what's going on, but um... are you still my girlfriend? Press 1 for yes, or 2 for no. Oh, wait... you're not on the phone. Um, okay, then call me back later and say 1 for yes, or 2 for no. Or, or just say yes or no. Okay, bye!

Message 1
STRONG MAD: MARRY MEEE. MARRY MEEEE! MARRY MEEEEE! MARRY MEEEEEEE!!

*Marzipan did indeed call herself in Marzipan's Answering Machine Version 2.0, and does it again in Marzipan's Answering Machine Version 12.2.
*It is odd that Coach Z would have to ask for Marzipan's number, since he already called her in Marzipan's Answering Machine Version 1.0.
Instruments

Nomoregoodusernames: /* Marzipan's Instruments */

cleanup

The populace of Free Country, USA are a musical bunch, with several instruments among them. Marzipan and the Cheat are the most often seen with instrumental skills, and along with Strong Mad they make up the band Cool Tapes. In addition to Cool Tapes and Marzipan's solo work with her guitar Carol, Bubs and Strong Sad also have some instrumental skills, and the King of Town may as well. Also many of the King's servents have been seen with instruments in various bands.

Marzipan's Instruments
Guitar
Carol is Marzipan's guitar. In the Powered by The Cheat cartoons, she is called "Carl". She is modeled after a nylon-string classical/Spanish guitar. Carol features a drawing of a "Don't Tread on Me"-style snake from the American revolutionary war. Marzipan plays Carol in the band Cool Tapes with Strong Mad and The Cheat. However, the sound Carol makes in the song "Cool Tapes" is much more like that of an electric guitar with distortion.

Electric Guitar
Appearing in sbemail 99, different town, Marzipan played this electric guitar, with the main body made up of mostly a skull, backbone, and several other bones.
Ukulele
The Ukulele is used by Marzipan to play Hawaiian music for her Luau. This is a more appropriate instrument than "Carol" to accompany Strong Sad's Polynesian prose. This instrument sports the letter "M", standing either for "Marzipan" or as the monogram of the instrument's own name.

The Cheat's keyboard is a Casio Sk-1 portable sampling keyboard. The Cheat has played the Strong Badia National Anthem, a background beat for Strong Bad's chart-topping hit "Song About Sibbie," and the acoustics for "Everybody Knows It" on it.

The Cheat's keyboard appears to have an extra key between E and F and two extra keys between B and C.

If Strong Bad had a band, The Cheat would be in it with this keyboard.
DJ Equipment/Mixing
When The Cheat is on tour as DJ Teh C., he uses a set of DJ equipment, which seems to include a pair of single turntables. He most likely also has a mixer board, as he is able to make an Indie-Tronic remix out of The Geddup Noise, as well as a remix of "Not Talkin' 'bout Butter".
Record Player
The Cheat's Record Player appeared in rampage when he was playing background music for Strong Bad and Coach Z when they were going on a lyrical rampage.

According to the DVD Commentary for rampage, this is based off of the Fisher Price Record Player toy that Matt had when he was a kid, and tried to bring to college. The real record player could play 33 to 45 RPM records and, according to Matt, could only play "slow stuff or jazz" or else "it just couldn't handle it."
Drums
Keytar
Bubs' Keytar is based on a Yamaha SHS-10 FM digital keyboard. The most common version of the SHS-10 is red and features colored buttons. It was often used as a cheap MIDI controller in the late '80s, as the sounds are nothing special. At around $100, it was almost a toy, but had professional features like MIDI out, pitch-bend, and a two-digit LED display to indicate patch/program changes.

The only significant difference between Bubs' keytar and a real SHS-10 is that Bubs' only has 24 keys, whereas a real one has 32.

It debuted in the Strong Bad Email "cheatday." Bubs had it handy behind the couch in Strong Bad's basement so he could help supply the music for "The Date of Birth Song". It seems that Strong Bad and The Cheat did not appreciate Bubs butting into the song with his keytar.
STRONG BAD: I'll take Strong Bad Emails for a thousand, please.

<blockquote class="tandy email">Strong Bad,<br />
My vcr keeps blinking 12:00 over and over. Do you <br />
have any suggestions on how to fix it?<br />
<br />
Thankyou,<br />
Cory Dewey-Smith</blockquote>

STRONG BAD: {typing} I had the same problem, Dewey-Smith. So I called in a professional to get the job done. Let's go see how he's dewing...um...doing. {Strong Bad leaves his seat. Cut to Bubs working in the garage, Strong Bad enters into the foreground.} So, Bubs, how is it coming?

BUBS: Oh, hey, Strong Bad. I think I'm almost finished. It took me a little while to figure out what I was going to do. {He steps aside to reveal what he's done.} Then I duct-taped an alarm clock to your VCR.

STRONG BAD: Duct-taped an alarm clock to the VCR... See, I never would have thought of that! Okay, there's some hairs that seem to be stuck in the duct-tape here. Was that on purpose?

BUBS: Oh... No! That's just left over from my first idea, which was to duct-tape The Cheat to your VCR. He wasn't into that.

STRONG BAD: Oh, I could have told you that, man. Well, anyways, thanks for your help, Bubs. And thank you, Cory... Dewey-Smith! So... Join us next week when we'll be duct-taping clocks to all kinds of different stuff.

{The Paper comes down.}
Fun Facts
Trivia
*The time on the alarm clock is the actual system time of your computer. This is done using ActionScript in Flash.

Remarks
*This is the first appearance of the Clock Radio.
*The clock radio displays 88:88 for a split-second as it retrieves the computer's internal time.
*In the eject button Easter egg, tapes with labels written in black appear to be Strong Sad's, labels written in red Strong Bad's, and labels written in blue Strong Mad's.

Goofs
*When Bubs turns around, his feet don't move at all. Bubs' torso just swivels 180° to face Strong Bad.
*While Bubs talks to Strong Bad about his work, his mouth is too far away from the bottom of his face for one frame.

Glitches
*The "Eject" button is clickable during the whole email, but it doesn't do anything until the end.
*When the camera zooms in on the clock, a fine line can be seen left of the clock.

Inside References
*The "Joy Of Painting" tape can also be found on the Toons page.

Real-World References
*Strong Bad's intro is a reference to the game show Jeopardy!
*Strong Bad's exchange with Bubs is a takeoff of television home remodeling shows such as This Old House, where the host asks various team members what they are doing, why, and how.

Fast Forward
*This is the first instance of someone duct taping The Cheat to something else. Strong Bad would later duct tape him to Pom Pom in your friends and mention doing it in lackey.
*Space shows are mentioned again in Homestar vs. Little Girl, an easter egg in Decemberween in July.
DVD Version
*The time on the alarm clock now always reads 8:28 at the start of the email, which changes to 8:29 and 8:30 as the email progresses.
*The VHS tape Easter egg only goes up to "YCDTOTV (season 2)."
*The DVD version features hidden creators' commentary. To access it, switch your DVD player's audio language selection while watching.

Commentary Transcript
(Commentary by: Mike Chapman, Matt Chapman)

MIKE: That's a reference to the TV show Jeopardy!

MATT: Yeah...

MIKE: I like how he says Dewey-Smith here. I've always liked that. Or, watch it! Oh, not that.

MATT: Not this time.

MIKE: Yeah. {horrible Strong Bad imitation} Dewey-Smith.

MATT: {as Strong Bad} Dewey, Dewey, Dewey. Dewey, Dewey.

MIKE: Oh, do the voice! Do Strong Bad's voice!

MATT: {as Strong Bad} Dewey, Dewey, Dewey, Dewey.

MIKE: I love to get Matt to do Strong Bad's voice.

MATT: Look, that's one of those, what do you call those work boards in the back?

MIKE: Pegboards.

MATT: Pegboards.

MIKE: My friend Tobin made homemade pegboard just by getting a piece of masonite and drilling the holes in just freehand and it was really bad and funny-looking.

MATT: So in, Mike, thi—

MIKE: Look, the No Loafing sign and his desk are—

MATT: There's also—

MIKE: —right there! So, apparently—

MATT: Wait, is that supposed to be the same desk?

MIKE: I dunno.

MATT: You mean Strong Bad's computer desk is in the garage?

MIKE: There's the same color wall. Well, it looks like it...

MATT: I don't believe you, Mike.

MIKE: Well...

MATT: I like that little, he's like {adopts semi-Strong Bad tone} "Aw, pshaw. I could've told you that." I like that.

MIKE: Wait, you—I like that.

MATT: {Strong Bad voice} Dewey, Dewey, Dewey, Dewey, Dewey, Dewey.

MIKE: Aw, do it again, Matt!

MATT: {Strong Bad voice} Uh, holy cramp!

MIKE: Holy cramp. {laughs}
