I couldn't figure out the best place to put this, and I wanted opinions of others. It seems to me that there is a running joke in many cartoons that a fairly insignificant offhand comment by one of the characters resurfaces at the end of the e-mail and/or in an easter egg as a minor character variant. I don't know whether this ought to be classified as a running gag, a subcategory of character variants, or what. Maybe people don't think it needs to be here at all.
