THE KING OF TOWN: Let the King have some!

TV ANNOUNCER: {quick voiceover as the screen darkens} The King of Town's Very Own<!-- The text on-screen shows the word "Own". We're following that. Do not change this to "unpopular". --> Popular Cartoon Show will not be seen this week. Instead we bring you: Strong Bad's very popular cartoon show, already in progress.

{Cut to the Lappy with the email already displayed. We join the scene as Strong Bad says "rong Bad..."}

<blockquote class="lappy email">
<div>subject: prom</div>
Dear Strong Bad, <br />
I was wondering did you ever have a senior prom.<br />
If so, what was it like?<br />
Matt M. WA
</blockquote>

{Strong Bad says "walrus association" for WA.}

STRONG BAD: Oh, man! Would you Walrus Association people please leave me alone? I will pay my dues when you send me my tusks! {clears screen} Anyways, I have personally never had a senior prom, Matt. I have, however, crashed my fair share of Senior Proms, Senor Proms, Homecoming Dances, Shortcoming Prances, and Off-Site Team-Building Pottery Classes. But the best Senior Prom I ever crashed was the 'Entrapment All Up On the Moon' Dance. It all started one day, when I received some very disappointing news...

{Cuts to the Floppy Disk Container side of the computer desk with Strong Mad and The Cheat. A cassette tape sits on top of a clock radio. The message 'an answering machine (trust me)' is taped to the clock radio, keeping the hour number open as if it was the message counter.}

STRONG BAD: {feigning disappointment} Oh man you guys... I'm totally bummed. Listen to this message I just got...

{Cut to a closeup of the clock radio. Strong Bad is partially visible on the left, holding one of his boxing gloves up to his mouth and looking away.}

STRONG BAD: {in a high-pitched voice} Hey.. Bunmuffin... It's Deli..lelia. They need me to go back up to Mars to help out that robot that got stuck in the sand. So I won't be able to go to the dance with you.

{Cut back to the group shot. Strong Mad and The Cheat look annoyed, and The Cheat's arms are folded.}

STRONG BAD: {still in fake voice} I left you some cold meatloaf under the fridge. {voice returns to normal, but he continues to feign disappointment} Ooh..

{Cut to close-up of Strong Bad}

STRONG BAD: {feigning disappointment} That little robot stuck in the sand again! I guess I don't have a date for the dance.

{Cut back to group shot.}

STRONG BAD: {speaking normally} Oh well... Looks like you two losers {Strong Mad looks shocked and then angry} and me one cool guy will just have to crash the ever-lovin' style out of it! Now listen close to my master-dly plan!

{Fade to black, then cut to and zoom in on All the King's Men's bass drum, then fade to the band on stage. Cut to a banner reading "Entrapment All Up On the Moon", then pan down to Homestar and Marzipan dancing on the gym floor. Homestar is wearing a tuxedo and a black propeller cap, and Marzipan is wearing a red formal dress.}

HOMESTAR RUNNER: Oh... Don't look now Marzipan, but I think we're the hottest couple at the prom.

MARZIPAN: Homestar, as always, we're the only couple at the prom.

HOMESTAR RUNNER: But what about Strong Sad and Deborah?

MARZIPAN: That is unmistakably<!-- This word is currently spelled correctly, stop wronging it up! --> Coach Z.

HOMESTAR RUNNER: Who?

{Cut to the drink table where Coach Z is pouring Listerine into the punch. Coach Z is wearing a dickie and bow tie and Strong Sad is wearing a space suit.}

STRONG SAD: Coach Z... You oughta be ashamed of yourself.

{Coach Z fumbles and drops the Listerine.}

STRONG SAD: You're supposed to be our chaperon! {says with a French accent while waving his hand}

COACH Z: Are you kiddin'!? I'm just lookin' out for all yer hygienes. Have ya ever talked to one of these kids up close!? Their breath is terberile!

{Someone turns off the light, plunging the scene into pitch darkness. There is a thud sound and a record scratch. Everyone at the prom gasps.}

MARZIPAN: Hey! Watch those hands David Coppafeel!

HOMESTAR RUNNER: Yeah, David!

{The lights turn back on, revealing Strong Bad, The Cheat and Strong Mad in the center separating Homestar Runner and Marzipan. Homestar continues to dance while Strong Bad speaks.}

STRONG BAD: That's right, senior citizens! This prom is officially crashed! Now peep my masterdly plan! I rigged up this button&mdash;

{Cuts to a close up of Strong Bad's hand, which is holding a remote control with a big red button labeled "GO!"}

STRONG BAD: &mdash;so that when I mash go on it, everybody's pants will POOF AWAY! It's a mass pantsing, see?

{He presses the button and a buzzer sounds.}

THE CHEAT: {The Cheat noises}

STRONG BAD: What!?

{With dramatic music, the scene quickly cuts to the pants area of Marzipan, then Coach Z, and then really quickly Homestar Runner, Strong Sad, The Poopsmith, The Blacksmith, The Knight, Strong Mad, The Cheat, before finally stopping on Strong Bad. The camera scrolls up from Strong Bad's pants to his head.}

STRONG BAD: You gotta be kiddin' me!? I'm the only one that wears any pants?

{Strong Bad's pants poof away, showing white boxers with lipstick kisses on them.}

THE ANNOUNCER: And now to announce your Prom King and Queen! This year's Prom King is... Pom Pom {applause}

{Cut to an area of the gymnasium that features the banner and cut-out forms of Nebulon and The Moon.}

VOICEOVER: {spoken words appear onscreen} Accepting the award for Pom Pom is Homestar Runner because Pom Pom's at a much cooler private school prom.

{Homestar walks out wearing a crown and then takes a swig of Listerine and starts gargling, sounding exactly like Pom Pom.}

THE ANNOUNCER: And your Prom Queen is... {cut to an excited Marzipan} Strong Bad with no pants on! {applause}

{Cut back to Homestar. Pant-less Strong Bad walks in from the left wearing a tiara and holding seven roses.}

STRONG BAD: Oh thank you so much! {applause} You people are a sweet delight! Just one big almond paste filled sweet delight!

{Homestar leans forward, kicking his foot backwards. Cut back to an angry Marzipan.}

MARZIPAN: Every freakin' year. {blows one of her bangs out of her face}

VOICE FROM OFFSCREEN: Ohhhh, yeah!

{Marzipan looks surprised, it then cuts to the rest of the gym, who all gasp. Then it cuts to The Poopsmith who shakes his head and shrugs his shoulders. Cut back to Strong Bad at the Lappy.}

STRONG BAD: {typing} And the best part is that I got a twenty dollar gift certificate to the All-You-Can-Eat Old Folks' Cafeteria. Man, I ate my weight in creamed fish and okratinis. Alright, I gotta get outta here. I'm taking Delilelia to see David Coppafeel perform. {gets up and leaves}

{Cut to a shot of the whole computer desk with Strong Bad standing to the side.}

STRONG BAD: Hurk! {jumps offscreen}

{Cut back to the Lappy. The Paper comes down.}

Fun Facts
Explanations
*In the United States, a senior prom is a formal dance held at the end of the final year of high school (around the time of year that this email was produced). Musical entertainment, refreshments, and adult chaperons are often present at these events.

Trivia
*The filename for the SWF file is the expected "sbemail151", but the HTML file is "kotpoptoon".
**The email was announced on the main page as a new toon as a prank; when it was released the message button read "king of town toon!"
*The label on the disk in the Floppy Disk Container reads "broder bund classics".
*This is the first time The Blacksmith<!--Yes, Blacksmith. The Poopsmith has appeared in MANY toons in the past six years. Please do not change this.--> has appeared in any Homestar Runner cartoon since his debut in The King of Town DVD six years ago.
*This is the first appearance of the Strong Sadstronaut, previously seen only in the weekly Sketchbook.

Remarks
*Strong Bad is wearing boxer shorts when his pants poof off. However, in New Boots, he claims he doesn't wear "underwears."
*Since an okratini is a drink, Strong Bad could not have eaten his weight in them, unless he consumed the okra pods.
*When Strong Bad addresses the audience and compares them to an almond-paste-filled sweet delight, he is describing the real confection of marzipan.
*Although it was stated in highschool that all the characters looked different in high school, all the characters appear as they would normally. This may be due to Strong Bad's "doodle memory", though it may also be, considering their ages are neither implied nor stated, that they are still "in" high school.
* "The King of Town's Popular Cartoon Show" is another case of the King of Town trying to appear cool and popular.
* In this email, Strong Bad's imaginary girlfriend's name is spelled "Delilelia". However, in the following Quote of the Week, it was spelled "Delelilia".

Goofs
*When Homestar keeps his eyes shut while standing next to de-pantsed Strong Bad, his regular pair of blinking eyes appears every few seconds beneath his already closed lids.
*As Homestar dances, his left foot continually changes shading, from a darker gray to a lighter gray.

Inside References
*The lipstick pattern on Strong Bad's shorts is the same as the one in video games.
*"Senor proms" is a reference to the common mispronunciation of Se&ntilde;or, and is further highlighted by the Senor Cardgage Easter egg.
*Coach Z was previously seen drinking Listerine in The Best Decemberween Ever.
**In this email, he makes a concoction by spiking the punch with Listerine.
*The Moon on the banner first appeared in Mr. Shmallow.
*The fictitious message from Delilelia would seem to explain why the formerly unnamed girl left Strong Bad, as mentioned in his autobiography.
*This email makes some references to robots.
*This email makes references both Homestar's Pants and pants in general.
*This is another instance of Mashing Go/Play.
*The name of the dance is "Entrapment All Up On the Moon".
*While it isn't certain that "Ohhh Yeah" was spoken by The Poopsmith, the same voice was used in different town to demonstrate what he would sound like.

Real-World References
<!-- We already have explanations behind "Koo koo ka-choo", "All the King's Men", and the Mars Rover. We don't need more. -->
*David Copperfield is a popular illusionist.
*The "Entrapment All Up On the Moon" dance and the outfits worn by the band are references to the "Enchantment Under the Sea" Dance from the Back to the Future movie trilogy.
*The phrase "Koo koo ka-choo" on the business card in the Easter egg refers to the song I Am the Walrus by The Beatles. This is a common mondegreen. The actual phrase from the song is "Goo Goo Ga Jube".
*An "okratini" is a martini served with a pickled okra pod instead of an olive.
*Listerine is an antiseptic mouthwash that contains alcohol.
*The "robot on Mars that got stuck in the sand again" is a reference to the Mars Exploration Rover Opportunity, which got stuck in a sand ripple on April 26, 2005.
*Strong Bad's remark, "It's a mass pantsing, see?" is a reference to Edward G. Robinson in the movie Little Caesar. Robinson's character, Rico, a gangster, often ended his sentences with "see?".
*All the King's Men! is a reference to the nursery rhyme Humpty Dumpty and likely to the band The Kingsmen as well.
<!-- We already have explanations behind "Koo koo ka-choo", "All the King's Men", and the Mars Rover. We don't need more. -->
I think Strong Bad is talking about Marzipan here... you know, the real type.--Dwedit 16:23, 3 May 2006 (UTC)

:From Wikipedia: "Marzipan is a confectionery consisting primarily of ground almonds and sugar that derives its characteristic flavor from bitter almonds, which constitute 4% to 6% of total almond content by weight." Sounds reasonable to me. 16:24, 3 May 2006 (UTC)
Did the poopsmith really just speak in this email? The voice sounds exactly like the poopsmith's in different town, but the poopsmith is shown shrugging afterwards like that wasn't his voice. I'd like to say that he didn't, but I'm not too sure about it. What are your opinions? - Wevegottapulse

More than two prom...blems?
Current Fun Fact:

*Marzipan's comment "...every freakin' year...." implies that she has attended the senior prom more than once. Because it is typically the final dance in high school, most people only attend the senior prom once.

I edited this from another version that said "it seems implausible that she would have attended it more than once". I beg to differ: There are a few reasons why she could have. (1) She could have gotten held back and repeated <s>the third grade</s> her senior year multiple times. (2) She could have gone with Homestar in previous years (and he'd probably be more likely to get held back). And (3) She could have served some other purpose in previous years.

My point is, I don't think we have enough to go on to say why she'd be at the prom multiple years. But a lot of cartoons and comics run on the implication that the characters never age, and they repeat the same years of their lives each year (a 365-day version of Groundhog Day, or something). That seems plausible in the HR Universe as well. Thus, I think the Fun Fact should kinda gloss over the "implausibilities" and relate Marzipan's comment to the way it is in real life.

And for the block, do you agree? 17:55, 3 May 2006 (UTC)
: I agree. Also, Marzipan could have simply heard that pantless-Strong Bad won Prom Queen multiple years in a row or whatever happened. -- 17:57, 3 May 2006 (UTC)

It makes more sense to me that they just all go to a senior prom every year. 130.127.84.204 18:03, 3 May 2006 (UTC)

Everybody everybody! Longest pants!
I would suggest that there definitely needs to be a reference regarding the ongoing pants/no-pants debate regarding Coach Z and Homestar. This seems to put the nail in the coffin that there are, in fact, no pants going on with either of them. Although (he realizes) it could also be argued that Coach Z wears a body suit, which doesn't technically have any stand-alone pants, which still leaves the door open for his "green-body/green body suit" ambiguity. (PS: Stand Alone Pants would be a great name for a rock band.)
:There's a reference to Homestar's Pants already on the page. That's where the debate is most fully explained. 18:42, 3 May 2006 (UTC)

::Whether or not this is proof Homestar doesn't wear pants should be put up for a vote me thinks. The obvious argument for would be the fact that his pants didn't poof away at all and his discussion with pompom during the easteregg seemed to imply he was covering. The arguments against could be that Strong Bads remote malfunctioned, or perhaps Homestar wears pants that look exactly like his legs!

STRONG BAD: {in a high-pitched voice} Hey.. Bunmuffin... It's Deli..lelia. They need me to go back up to Mars to help out that robot that got stuck in the sand. So I won't be able to go to the dance with you.

{Cut back to the group shot. Strong Mad and The Cheat look annoyed, and The Cheat's arms are folded.}

STRONG BAD: {still in fake voice} I left you some cold meatloaf under the fridge. {voice returns to normal, but he continues to feign disappointment} Ooh..

{Cut to close-up of Strong Bad}

STRONG BAD: {feigning disappointment} That little robot stuck in the sand again! I guess I don't have a date for the dance.

{Cut back to group shot.}

STRONG BAD: {speaking normally} Oh well... Looks like you two losers {Strong Mad looks shocked and then angry} and me one cool guy will just have to crash the everlovin' style out of it! Now listen close to my masterdly plan!

{Fade to black, then cut to and zoom in on All the King's Men's bass drum, then fade to the band on stage. Cut to a banner reading "Entrapment All Up On the Moon", then pan down to Homestar and Marzipan dancing on the gym floor. Homestar is wearing a tuxedo and a black propeller cap, and Marzipan is wearing a red formal dress.}

{Cut to the drink table where Coach Z is pouring Listerine into the punch. Coach Z is wearing a dickey and bow tie and Strong Sad is wearing a space suit.}

STRONG SAD: Coach Z... You oughta be ashamed of yourself.

{Coach Z fumbles and drops the Listerine.}

STRONG SAD: You're supposed to be our chaperone {says with a French accent while waving his hand}

COACH Z: Are you kiddin'!? I'm just lookin' out for all yer hygienes. Have ya ever talked to one of these kids up close!? Their breath is TERBERILE!

{Someone turns off the light, plunging the scene into pitch darkness. There is a thud sound and a record scratch. Everyone at the prom gasps.}

MARZIPAN: Hey! Watch those hands David Coppafeel!

HOMESTAR RUNNER: Yeah! David!

{The lights turn back on, revealing Strong Bad, The Cheat and Strong Mad in the center seperating Homestar Runner and Marzipan.}

STRONG BAD: That's right, senior citizens! This prom is officially crashed! Now peep my masterdly plan! I rigged up this button&mdash;

STRONG BAD: &mdash;so that when I mash go on it, everybody's pants will POOF AWAY! It's a mass pantsing, see?

{He presses the button and a buzzer sounds.}

THE CHEAT: {The Cheat noises}

{With dramatic music, the scene quickly cuts to the pants area of Marzipan, then Coach Z, and then really quickly Homestar Runner, Strong Sad, The Poopsmith, The Blacksmith, The Knight, Strong Mad, The Cheat, before finally stopping on Strong Bad. The camera scrolls up from Strong Bad's pants to his head.}

STRONG BAD: You gotta be kiddin' me!? I'm the only one that wears any pants?

{Strong Bad's pants poof away, showing white boxers with lipstick kisses on them.}

THE ANNOUNCER: And now to announce your Prom King and Queen! This year's Prom King is... Pom Pom {applause}

{Cut to an area of the gymnasium that features the banner and cut-out forms of Nebulon and The Moon.}

THE ANNOUNCER: {spoken words appear onscreen} Accepting the award for Pom Pom is Homestar Runner because Pom Pom's at a much cooler private school prom.
{Homestar walks out wearing a crown and then takes a swig of Listerine and starts gargling, sounding exactly like Pom Pom.}

VOICEOVER: And your Prom Queen is... {cut to an excited Marzipan} Strong Bad with no pants on! {applause}

{Cut back to Homestar. Pant-less Strong Bad walks in from the left wearing a tiara and holding seven roses.}

STRONG BAD: Oh thank you so much! {applause} You people are a sweet delight! Just one big almond paste filled sweet delight!

{Homestar leans forward, kicking his foot backwards. Cut back to an angry Marzipan.}

MARZIPAN: Every freakin' year. {blows her bangs up with her breath}

THE POOPSMITH: {possibly; offscreen} Ohhhh, yeah!

{Marzipan looks surprised, it then cuts to the rest of the gym, who all gasp. Then it cuts to the Poopsmith who shakes his head and shrugs his shoulders. Cut back to Strong Bad at the Lappy.}

STRONG BAD: {typing} And the best part is that I got a twenty dollar gift certificate to the All-You-Can-Eat Old Folks' Cafeteria. Man, I ate my weight in creamed fish and okratinis. Alright, I gotta get outta here. I'm taking Delilelia to see David Coppafeel perform. {gets up and leaves}

{Cut to a shot of the whole computer desk with Strong Bad standing to the side.}

STRONG BAD: Hurk! {jumps offscreen}

{Cut back to the Lappy. The Paper comes down.}
checkstuffpage

Trivia
*The filename for the HTML page is not the expected "sbemail151", but rather "kotpoptoon".
**However, the filename for the SWF Flash file is the expected "sbemail151.swf".
**To add to the illusion, the note on the main page said "King of Town Toon!"
**This is because of a prank played by the Brothers Chaps. The email was announced on the main page as a new toon.
*This is the first time we see The Cheat with his arms folded.
*The Floppy Disk Container says Broderbund Classics.
*This is the first time in the regular Homestar Runner universe that we see Marzipan wearing her hair in a different than normal manner.
*This is the first time in six years that we've seen The Blacksmith appear in any way on the site.

Remarks
*Strong Bad is wearing boxer shorts when his pants poof off. However, in New Boots, he claims he doesn't wear "underwears."
*Since an okratini is a drink, Strong Bad could not have eaten his weight in them.
*When Strong Bad, Strong Mad, and The Cheat arrive at the prom, Homestar doesn't stop dancing, even though he and Marzipan have been separated.
*When Strong Bad compares the audience to an almond-paste-filled sweet delight, he is probably referring to real marzipan.
*Although it was stated in highschool that all the characters looked different in high school, all the characters appear as they would normally. This may be due to Strong Bad's "doodle memory", though it may also be, considering their ages are neither implied nor said out, that they are still "in" high school.

Inside References
*"Senor proms" is a reference to the common mispronunciation of Se&ntilde;or, and is further highlighted by the Senor Cardgage easter egg.
*This is another reference to robots.
*The name of the dance is "Entrapment All Up On the Moon".
*While it isn't completely proven that "Ohhh Yeah" was spoken by The Poopsmith, the same voice was used in different town to demonstrate what he would sound like.

Real-World References
*David Copperfield is a popular illusionist.
**The name "David Coppafeel" is a common allusion to "copping a feel", or more generally, making out.
*The "Entrapment All Up On the Moon" dance and the outfits worn by the band are references to the "Enchantment Under the Sea Dance" from the Back to the Future movie trilogy.
*The phrase "Koo koo ka-choo" on the business card in the easter egg refers to the song I Am the Walrus by The Beatles. Do not change this to "unpopular". --> Popular Cartoon Show will not be seen this week. Instead we bring you: Strong Bad's very popular cartoon show, already in progress.

{Cut to the Lappy with the email already displayed. We join the scene as Strong Bad says "rong Bad..."}

<blockquote class="lappy email">
<div>subject: prom</div>
Dear Strong Bad, <br />
I was wondering did you ever have a senior prom.<br />
If so, what was it like?<br />
Matt M. WA
</blockquote>

{Strong Bad says "walrus association" for WA.}

{Cuts to the Floppy Disk Container side of the computer desk with Strong Mad and The Cheat. A cassette tape sits on top of an alarm clock. The message 'an answering machine (trust me)' is taped to the alarm clock.}

STRONG BAD: {feigning disappointment} Oh man you guys... I'm totally bummed. Listen to this message I just gooot.

{Cut to a closeup of the alarm clock. Strong Bad is partially visible on the left, holding one of his boxing gloves up to his mouth and looking away.}

STRONG BAD: {in a high-pitched voice} Hey.. Bunmuffin... It's Deli..lelia. They need me to go back up to Mars to help out that robot that got stuck in the sand. So I won't be able to go to the dance with you.

{Cut back to the group shot. Strong Mad and The Cheat look annoyed, and The Cheat's arms are folded.}

STRONG BAD: {still in fake voice} I left you some cold meatloaf under the fridge. {voice returns to normal, but he continues to feign disappointment} Ooh..

{Cut to close-up of Strong Bad}

STRONG BAD: {feigning disappointment} That little robot stuck in the sand again! I guess I don't have a date for the dance.

{Cut back to group shot.}

STRONG BAD: {speaking normally} Oh well... Looks like you two losers {Strong Mad looks shocked and then angry} and me one cool guy will just have to crash the everlovin' style out of it! Now listen close to my masterdly plan!

{Fade to black, then cut to and zoom in on All the King's Men's bass drum, then fade to the band on stage. ===Trivia===

This may be due to Strong Bad's "doodle memory", though it may also be, considering their ages are neither implied nor said out, that they are still Italic textinItalic text high school.

Perhaps I'm jumping the gun, but given the song at the end, and the length and "recurring characters" show... anyone else think that the one who suggested a while back that SBEMail #150 might be the last of them is correct? I hope not, but if it *is*, it's quite a sendoff. I particularly liked this one. - 10:18, 4 April 2006 (UTC)
Senor Cardgage Fishing Easter Egg-- Connection?
The odd "echo" sound effect heard in the fishing easter egg is also used in the first episode of the mockumentary TV series "Fishing with John", by actor/musician John Lurie.

I'm assuming that this is a stock sound effect, and simply a coincidence. To my knowledge, the similarities end with the sound itself and "fishing". But as a fan of both homestarrunner.com and Fishing with John, it made me laugh.

Fishing with John seems like the kind of indie/cult television show that could be referenced by HSR, though.

Anyone else think of this?

- C

: Well, the same sound effect was used in the "Fishing with Coach Z" segment in lures & jigs, I'd say it was probably intentional (check out the commentary transcript for that email).
*Made-Up Strong Bad Animals - Just Sterrence would have made more sense, but I guess they liked Da Huuuudge enough to represent him too.
*Atari Strong Bad - All video games represented by Vector.
*Self Portraits, Drawings, Etc - They aren't supposed to be alive or anything, just a portrait.
*Strongbadiophage - Yeah, he could have been there. But also represented by Teenage Strong Bad.
Seems like there's plausible reasons for missing variations by my viewpoint. 19:03, 4 April 2006 (UTC)

I understand all of those reasons except PBTC. Seriously, why does it have to be made be Strong Bad? It's an alternate version! He even features on the Everybody Everybody poster. It seemed like you just wanted to find some sort of reason and "It was made by The Cheat" was the only thing you could come up with.--DumDe 20:58, 4 April 2006 (UTC)
:The second and last point above - they did include Teenage Strong Bad, so that argument is moot. 21:05, 4 April 2006 (UTC)

::Also, PBTC's idea is disproved by the fact that they included Old-Timey Strong Bad. An obvious choice, yes, but Strong Bad still didn't create him. - 21:56, 4 April 2006 (UTC)

:::Maybe they wanted to keep the repetition to a minimum? Sterrance and Da Huuuuuudge is the only instance where they've got 2 from the same email... including the extra variations from animal, highschool, video games, etc... would only make it repetitive and cluttered (how many jokes can you make with Secret Collect Strong Bad?) Tbird's reason for PbTC still stands &ndash; every alternate variation in the email was made by Strong Bad in one of the emails, PbTC was not. Which leaves his depictions in TGS, etc, which are actually supposed to be Strong Bad himself, not an alternate universe version. 01:46, 5 April 2006 (UTC)
The concept of them all singing together seems to be similar to USA for Africa, where they got together pop music superstars and had them sing together to raise money to help the poor in Africa. Their most notable song was "We Are the World".

:Yeah I agree. I think the reference was pretty obvious and I was surprised to not find it in the Real-World Refrences section already.

Universe Creator
You know, most of the universes Strong Bad visited were fantasies that he was supposed to have made up. (animal, highschool, etc) Does Strong Bad create an alternate universe every time he thinks up some new characters or time periods? The mystery continues! >.> - 18:38, 4 April 2006 (UTC)
Is it worth mentioning that Bill Cosby also used this phrase on an episode of The Cosby Show? Most people would be more likely to have heard it on the show than on Himself.
:Actually, I thought it was a catchphrase of one of the Fat Albert characters, wasn't it? Which I think would make it older than Himself. (There's an unusual concept...) But what I'm more concerned about is the inconsistency between the phrase in the Transcript and the phrase in the Fun Fact. I'm not in a position to do any careful listening right now. : Missing Anatomy. But everyone knows they aren't really missing. We see Homestar et al. manipulate objects and we hear Coach Z speak all the time. Or, if you like really bad puns, perhaps Grey-Area Anatomy. 20:03, 4 April 2006 (UTC)
The word "sequicentennial" means 150 years. The "ennial" is related to the word "annual". Because sequicenten-email is a play on words, it works in this case. However, if he were to have called it his sequcentennial email, it would be incorrect, as he would have had to have started in 1856 and answered one annually in order to celebrate his sequicentennial. Favorite Character:Homestar
First Email:Bedtime Story
First thing ever on the site:A coloring page.

Before I continue, let's dwelve into that. Before I liked to say words like "crap"(I was a goody-goody), my bet friend had printed out an outlined picture of the main characters. I helped him color it in. About a year later I was on a flash game website where I saw a game called "Peasant's Quest" When I went to the bottom where a button said "Games" I clicked on it. I didn't know who 1-upwas but I thought that little guy was familiar. So I goes to the main page to find that character that Matt (coincidintail name of my best friend, huh?) showed me, naked. or "Nakers!!" as the page title said.
It's pretty obvious that this was intended as a cop-out toon - filler material until the big 1-5-0. After all, they did the same sort of teaser for the Hundredth Email, and I thought that was a riot. And I don't know about you, but I'd rather get a throwaway toon rather than rush the TBC from a quality product. Besides, it shows that the creators are mindful of their fan's eagerness by trying to slake their appetite. Or gently tease their obsessive behavior. :) Besides, it wasn't all bad. Upon further research, the ones with the snout is called Snufits or Snifits. Lord-z 07:22, 27 March 2006 (UTC)
:Further support of this, if needed, can be drawn from the fact that Super Mario Bros. 2/USA (or, more precisely, Doki Doki Panic upon which it was based), which was where Snifits first appeared, was set completely in a dream world. Goes along vaguely with Homestar as a representation of SB's innermost desires. Also the cloud on Homestar's shirt. Sorry about the confusion. The reason I labled the mask as a reference to Pink Floyd was because at the time Strong Sad was talking about "innermost desires". :I was pretty young, but I seem to remember that when I was living in Arkansas during its sesquicentennial, it would sometimes be hastily pronounced that way, particularly by those with more pronounced Arkansan accents (which is related to a Georgia accent). But Strong Sad's not the type to hastily pronounce anything (except Moleskine), so that's probably not relevant. :Let's examine the googly-eye question logically, shall we? First of all, Strong Sad literally calls it "a pear covered with eyeballs". That description is not quite compatible with a pear covered with stuck-on googly eyes. However, the prop itself could be simply that, so it still doesn't rule it out. Thus we have to examine the picture and deduce what we can from the visual evidence. And the visual evidence consists of two important bits. First, that the pupils of the eyes are not all pointing in the same direction. And second, that there are no markings on the drawing, as there would generally be on a well-done storyboard, indicating motion of the pear. A pear covered with googly eyes that is not in motion will have all the pupils pointing downwards, thus this cannot be intended to be a drawing of such an object. Since it's not what Strong Sad said, and it's not what Strong Sad drew, it would be a huge leap to call these googly eyes.
Yes, they have a snout in Mario 64 that they shoot bullets from. --AlmostJinkies

Upon further research, the ones with the snout is called Snufits or Snifits. Lord-z 07:22, 27 March 2006 (UTC)
: Yup, Snifits. A type of Shyguy that can shoot bullets. That's the first thing that crossed my mind when I saw that mask, and I have no reason to doubt that that's exactly the reference intended. -- 07:45, 27 March 2006 (UTC)
Clouds were all over the place in that game. --TheNicestGuy 16:46, 27 March 2006 (UTC)
Sorry about the confusion. The reason I labled the mask as a reference to Pink Floyd was because at the time Strong Sad was talking about "innermost desires". == TMBG commentary? ==

Wait, there's really a TMBG commentary on this? I'd expect Experimental Film to have it, but it's Ballad of the Sneak... is this a mistake? Also, I'm getting the DVD in the mail within the next few days and I'd be more than happy to help out. (I sound weird...) --MrsCommanderson 22:42, 23 November 2005 (UTC)
:No, it's not a mistake. It is They Might Be Giants. It is hard to understand though. The Chapos and some of the members are on the phone, and then another guy you can here perfectly. So, it is correct.-- 22:46, 23 November 2005 (UTC)
:::-Edit conflict- It's on Ballad. Experimental Film has two commentaries: one from the website, and another one similar but different (I just said "similar but different"!). Ballad of The Sneak has two commentaries. They will be very hard to transcribe because they are on the phone and there are always 50 guys talking at once. The second commentary, if I figured it out, has the voice of one TMBG member having technical difficulties during the commentary. &mdash;BazookaJoe 22:49, 23 November 2005 (UTC)
::::It's not They Might Be Giants. It's DaVinci's Notebook. Listen to the commentary. Yes, they say they are (in the first commentary), but it's just a joke and Mike corrects them after.

Pom Pom (also spelled Pom-Pom) is a Pom from the Isle of Pom. Pom Pom, like all Poms, appears to be inflated. He talks by making bubbly noises and can store stuff by absorbing objects into his body, suggesting that he's made of some sort of carbonated/gelatinous substance. Pom Pom is Homestar Runner's best friend, but Pom Pom sometimes also hangs out with Strong Bad. He takes karate and is often on his cell phone talking to his many girlfriends. He was going to have a dog named Trivia Time, but this concept seems to have been abandoned. He also has a "wicked Pom Pilot". Pom Pom's parents' names are General and Fraulein Pom Pom, as seen in an Easter egg in the Strong Bad E-mail pom pom. Pom Pom has such an open mind that he has even made friends with such characters as the King of Town and The Poopsmith.
HOMESTAR RUNNER: Here go Pom Pom. {to Pom Pom} What's up, Pom Pom? {Pom Pom gestures to his phone} Oh, sorry. {to camera} Pom Pom is definitely the mack around here. And he's my best friend. He's gotten me out of some pretty tight jams. And some pretty tight pants! But that only happened once. {to Pom Pom} Hey Pom Pom—{Pom Pom looks at him angrily and points to his phone} Oh, right. I forgot already. He's probably talking to some fine honey on his celly. {Pom Pom gets out his wallet and shows the camera some pictures of his girlfriends} About to get her phone number. Or maybe he already has it. He gets digits like every single... day. {to Pom Pom} Isn't that right, Pom Pom? {irritated, Pom Pom snaps his phone shut and bubbles angrily at Homestar} Oh, sorry again man. My bad. I wasn't trying to step to you or anything. We're still cool. {Pom Pom sighs, puts his phone away, shakes his head and bounces away} Pom Pom and I are still cool.
Pager: (718) 555-1059<br>

* Based on the area code for his pager number, Pom Pom has either lived or does business in the outer boroughs of New York City. 123 is not a real area code, as none (in the North American Numbering Plan, at least) begin with the numeral 1.
* Pom Pom's "voice" is the same re-used sound sample of Mike Chapman blowing bubbles into a glass of milk. His is the only voice that is never recorded fresh for every toon (and never has since his first appearance).
* "The Most Mackinest" is a phrase taken from the Beastie Boys' song "Shake Your Rump."
* Pom Pom is the only main character whose parents have been seen on the site, in a picture in Isle of Pom. They are differently-colored Poms there, but Strong Bad hypothetically envisions them as a File Cabinet in Family Resemblence.
*Pom Pom's ringtone as heard in technology is a clip of the geddup noise as performed by DJ Teh Cheat.

Welcome to S6K! My name comes from a different continuity, but I use it everywhere, so what the heck! I'm the six-thousandth Shadowandroid (We refer to ourselves as one word) and a failed experiment. I'm orange with black and red stripes, and a white scar on my face. If you want to visit my website, here's the URL: http://www.yagaboosh.com/shadowsite.html
It's just another Shadow the Hedgehog fansite, but we're better than most. We have a forum :p
Umm... If I ever get the pixel art of myself done, I'll put it on this page.
