It sounds nothing like "Can you play", and everything like "You can't marry".

:This is kinda silly, because, in fact, he *isn't* really directly refered to as "Cheat", because it's a Homestar joke. What was written there before ([[User:Shingen|Shingen]]'s edit) made it sound like the brothers screwed up or something (you have to listen to/read the script carefuly to realise otherwise). I have edited to be less misleading (which involves mentioning the fact it was Homestar's screw up - not so bad, it's a fact after all). It's also a bit shorter now, which is good, because it's not a very important fact (it would be if the brothers *had* screwed up).

I actually used the idea of the white chocolate Speed Stick at school on some of my friends.

Instructions on how to make your own Edible speed stick:

1. Clean out an old Deoderant container very good to get rid of the cake inside. (Make sure that you have CLEANED IT REALLY GOOD!)

2.Melt down the chocolate in your own special way into a liquid.

3. Lubricate the inside of the container with melted butter.

4. Pour the chocolate into the container and then put it into the refridge.

5. Be careful of the butter, it will be greasy! Turn the dial at the bottom to push the cooled chocolate up.

6. Now go ask someone if they want deoderant and eat it right in front of them!

I'm almost positive I hear "Wow" here instead of "What". Strong Bad has kind of a strange way of saying it, but it's one I hear very often in his voice (it's usually "Whoa" or "Ohh", however). His intonation rises, but falls at the very end. It doesn't sound like a question to me. Also, I don't hear a hard "t" sound, and I think that would be pretty noticeable after checking it a few times. The entire word doesn't seem to have any hard sounds. Lastly, check out his mouth; it starts out with a rounded "o" shape then opens up into its normal rectangle shape. I think "Wow" fits that far better than "What" does. SB's intonation rises as homestar's falls yes, but if you try to block out homestar's and listen JUST to SB's inotation, you'll notice it falls again after the rise, which is EXACTLY how someone says "woah" or "wow", with a rise then a fall. Can we please PLEASE not leave "what" there? It looks like no one but Jay is advocating it being what, so why is his opinion trumping everyone else's? Well I changed Tejas to Tehas before, now I see it's back to Tejas with a link to history of Tejas, but I think the whole point was missed.

If I'm reading that line, or even reading the page it links too, and I don't know J is pronounced like H in spanish, it sounds to me like this site is saying the word is pronounced Teh-Jas, with a hard english J. If you want to leave the J there, please at least have it mentioned somewhere that it's pronounced like an H.

And I still don't think changing it to Tejas signifies the H sound any more than Texas does. Ever heard how they pronounce "Mexico" in spanish? Meh-hee-ko. X can sound like an H too. If the purpose of the Tejas line is to communicate that it's pronounced like an H, it doesn't communicate that at all. I dunno about you, but it doesn't really sound like they're singing along to the song, and more like they're laughing at some kind of joke:
*Pom Pom's girls are OBVIOUSLY laughing, though I can't say as there's ever been a time when they said much else.
*Pom Pom's bubbling ''kinda'' sounds like laughing (like, say, how he laughed in [[A Jorb Well Done]]), and the way his head bobs up and down kinda implies it too, but since it's just bubbling and not actual words it could go either way.
*Homsar's just being Homsar.
*The KoT, though, and what I think REALLY gives it away, says (from what I make of it): "Yes, ooh, that's mighty funny!" It doesn't sound much like the lyrics to the song at all (where in the clip does Homestar make an "ooo" sound?), and, if that's what WAS going on (a joke, hence why the KoT says it's "mighty funny"), it probably WOULD elicit the responses above, and it would probably make more sense.

I don't think that's just a reference to Jerry Seinfeld. I'm pretty sure that phrase is used on and about other sitcoms centered around a character played by a stand up comedian; I know they say "based on the comedy of Ray Romano" in the credits of Everybody Loves Raymond, and I've heard the phrase "based on the comedy of Bernie Mac" used in regards to The Bernie Mac Show. And then they used the phrase "based on the comedy of Gollum" on Saturday Night Live in the credits of the fictional sitcom "A Hard Hobbit to Break". but that last one's just the cough of a metaphorically dying poster who realizes he only has two barely credible citations for his argument.
