'''Homestar Ruiner''' is the first episode of the ''[[Strong Bad's Cool Game For Attractive People]]'' video game series. It has been rated T by the ESRB for Crude Humor, Mild Cartoon Violence, and Mild Suggestive Themes. Story written by Mike Stemmle and [[The Brothers Chaps]].

While [[Strong Bad]] is going about his usual routine - checking [[Strong Bad Email|emails]], etc. - [[Homestar Runner]] tells him about the [[Contests#Tri-annual Race to the End of the Race|Tri-annual Race to the End of the Race]]. Once Strong Bad hears of Homestar's intention to win this contest, he schemes to snatch victory from Homestar's [[Lack of Visible Arms|invisible grasp]]. But when his scheme backfires, he finds his house invaded by [[Duplicate Characters|Homestars]] unwilling to face the world again. Strong Bad has to repair Homestar's status if he ever wants to be free of his presence.

* Enter the photo booth, interact with the top of the light closest to The Cheat. After the pointer changes shape, keep holding down the interaction button and drag the shirt onto Strong Bad to wear it.
** The shirt can also be obtained by walking off the right side of the photo booth three times, causing Strong Bad to walk under the floor. When he walks directly under the door and out of view, a sound will play, and he'll be wearing the shirt when he comes back into view.

*At the non-garden party, the rollover for Marzipan and Homestar is spelled "MARZIPAN & HOMSETAR". This goof is only present in the Wii version.
*In Strong Bad's photo booth there is a clickable area above the camera. Clicking here turns the cursor into the Max shirt from the Telltale store (also occasionally chosen at random as Young Sam's costume in Sam and Max Episode 202: Moai Better Blues and Episode 204: Chariots of the Dogs). However, when put on Strong Bad, the shirt is yellow and has a picture of Nutter the squirrel from Wallace & Gromit's Grand Adventures on it.
*The subtitles are incorrect in several places:
**When kicking the Cheat into the dryer, one of the subtitles misspells "Pixelated" as "Pix'''i'''lated".
**Homestar Runner sings "Do do-do do dooo dooo, do do-do do dooo" but the subtitles say "Do do-do do dooo dooo, do do-do do dooo dooo".
**While Strong Bad says "some French guy said I should beat you up", the subtitles quote him as saying "some French guy said '''that''' I should beat you up".
**While most abbreviations have an apostrophe, no apostrophe is transcribed when Homestar says "puddin sack".

=== Glitches ===

*If the subtitles are turned off, they will be erroneously enabled when Strong Bad checks his email. They will remain enabled afterwards until Strong Bad leaves his house, although the ''Settings'' screen will show them as '''Off'''. Toggling them on and off again under the ''Settings'' will rectify the problem.
*Sometimes the pixels on [[naked Homestar]] will be transparent. When this happens you will notice that all the pixels were covering was his shirt.
*While wearing the tech shirt in extended play near Strong Bad's house (and a few other locations) geometry issues will occur, resulting in what looks like a blue wall shooting out from the shirt.
*If the Luxa Lounger is extended (when it is unextended) and the radio set to the Latin music in Extended Play, the conga line will re-form even though it won't move.
**When the Luxa Lounger is set back the conga line will disappear, but Homestar, Marzipan, Coach Z, Bubs and the King of Town will appear where they were when the party was still going on. These characters cannot be selected, and Strong Bad can walk right through them.
*As Strong Bad wears the Homestar head, it is sometimes invisible, so you see Strong Bad grab nothing.
*During the Teen Girl Squad comic, if you kill off the other three girls before the game scene (Give So and So the book, What's Her Face the car keys, and either Cheerleader or The Ugly One the cockroach.) and the last girl the hairspray, in the game scene Basketballa will kill her with FUNDAMENTALS! and the It's Over! screen will play. However, when Strong Bad tells you your score, instead of staying on the It's Over! screen, it will revert back to the scene of Basketballa being shocked that he killed a girl.
*Character's eyes, including Strong Bad's, may occasionally disappear. When this occurs the eyes will remain gone until the player leaves the area.

==== Wii Version ====
*If widescreen mode is turned on, talking to Coach Z in extended play results in the game freezing, requiring a hard reset. In addition, many of the cut scenes that play throughout the game will sometimes freeze, also requiring a hard reset.
*After Strong Bad plays [[Snake Boxer 5]], the background changes from the TV to the Computer Room before resuming Strong Bad's Standing-up animation.
*If the game is saved while in the photo booth while wearing a shirt and then immediately turned off, then when you start only the collar of the shirt will be visible.
*If you repeatedly press B during the ending cutscene/credits, you will teleport to the Computer Room. You can move the pointer during this period, but you cannot do anything and must reset.
*While the people are throwing a party at Strong Bad's house, you can go through The King of Town's body while he's eating [[pizza]]. If you try to take a picture of Strong Bad through the King of Town's body, the game will freeze, forcing you to do a hard reset.
*When the King of Town is presenting the trophy to Strong Bad after winning the race, the game will freeze, forcing the player to do a hard reset. This only occurs in widescreen.
*If you delete all the emails and then undelete them, the first email (the one Strong Bad is answering in the game) will not be shown in the inbox and the trash will still indicate that there is an email in there even when it is empty. This is solved by restarting the game.

*Occasionally Homestar, Marzipan, Bubs, The Cheat, Coach Z, Strong Mad, Strong Sad or Strong Bad's eyes are not visible upon entering an area. The same may also occur with Strong Mad and Marzipan's mouth.
*Sometimes, when you start up the game, part of it it will go offscreen and reappear on the screens other side (e.g. the menu's top part being on the bottom of the screen and the bottom of the menu on the top screen portion.)

Decemberween Ever, Homestar and [[Strong Sad]] stand behind The Brick Wall and discuss [[Strong Bad]]'s [[Decemberween]] present. It has since become somewhat of a staple of Decemberween toons, though it has made appearances in non-holiday related toons, as well.

The wall is a reference to the comic strip [[Peanuts]], in which Charlie Brown and his friends stand behind a similar wall.

In [[SBCG4AP]], the wall is located between [[Bubs' Concession Stand]] and [[The Stick]].

Marzipan, Strong Bad, Bubs, Strong Sad, The Cheat, and Homestar (when he's facing away), are still drawn in the old style.
**It is revealed from the [[#Commentary Transcript|DVD commentary]] that this cartoon was updated after it was made. Newer character designs from the front side were added, but the back of Homestar's head was left unchanged.
*At the rate Strong Sad repeats the word ''job'' on the tape, it would take him about 100 hours to say it 285,194 times.

*Oddly enough, when Strong Sad and Coach Z are in the locker room, the wheels on the cassette tape are spinning, even though it isn't in a tape player.
**This goof can't be seen until Strong Sad hands the tape to Coach Z, because the tape wheels are the same gray color as Strong Sad's body.
*While Strong Bad is laughing, his right arm is disconnected from his body.
*In Coach Z's dream, the "JOB" words flying in the background appear under the fence, but over the small hill that it's on.
*The sound effect of Strong Bad laughing is played too early for the second time, overlapping the first sound.

== Biography ==
'''The King of Town''' (middle name being [[Marzipan's Answering Machine Version 15.2#Message 6|Wad]]), self-nicknamed the "KOT", is the de jure ruler of [[Free Country, USA]] (though [[labor day]] suggests that his title is self-proclaimed). However, nobody wishes to acknowledge this; it's therefore possible that this character is a satire on the obsolescence of monarchy. His head is completely white, with black lines for eyes, a [[mustache]] and a beard (though it was suggested in [[diorama]] that the white is fur or hair, as he has pink flesh underneath). He wears a gold crown and what appears to be a red robe with white trim with [[Lack of Visible Arms|no arms]]. He has been seen in different attire resembling a striped one-peice swimming suit when swimming ([[keep cool]]) and in Strong Bad's amazing feats of wonder ([[retirement]]). When in this suit, it suggests that he has this white fur/hair all over his body.

One of his main problems is that he is a glutton and will eat anything in front of him (except [[peas]] and [[The Cheat]]; he had a long-standing aversion to [[whatsit]] which finally ended in [[fan club]]). His favorite food is [[butter]]. As a result of his unhealthy eating habits, he has many, sometimes serious, health problems, as it is the norm for him to have several heart attacks after eating. According to the [[record book]], he is the "least healthiest (man?)". As revealed in the sbemail [[pizza joint]], he spends most of his day calling random numbers in hopes of finding a new restaurant, and has found [[The Pizz]] as a result.

He employs [[The Poopsmith]] (for personal reasons) and a [[:Category:King's Servants|few other characters]]. Like [[Homestar Runner|Homestar]], [[Homsar]], and [[Marzipan]], he also has no [[Lack of Visible Arms|visible arms]], but can handle things as though he does. His age is known to be somewhere in his 60s. He also leads the [[K.O.T.H.S. Junior Varsity Marching Band]] during the [[Fall Float Parade]]. According to a message he left on [[Marzipan's Answering Machine Version 13.2|Marzipan's answering machine]] and on Strong Bad's answering machine in [[Lappynapped!]], he can play the guitar, and along with [[The Cheat]], he has cut a remix demo called "Not Talkin' About Butter". He also has his very own "[[KOT's VOQPCS!|quite popular cartoon show]]" which, although it was pre-empted in favor of a [[Strong Bad Email]] in [[senior prom]], was shown some time later. He is also an authorized [[Wikipedia: Godzilla|Godzilla]] reseller as seen in [[TrogdorCon '97]].

It has become unclear whether The King of Town has royal ancestors from whom he inherited the official honor of "king", or if his title is self-imposed and he simply purchased his crown from the "Costume Palace" (as could be interpreted from his character video). In [[original]], [[Strong Bad]] claims that "there've been like twelve King of Towns". An Easter egg at the end of the email shows graves for 11 Kings of Town (including one known as "Onion King of Town"), although it is unknown if this is real or imaginary. [[Marzipan]] and [[Bubs]] both claim that [[Strong Bad]] was lying about [[Original Bubs]], so it seems likely that he was lying about there being other Kings of Town as well.

Although the King of Town wears his crown most of the time, it has been stolen by Strong Bad and The Cheat in [[Strong Bad is in Jail Cartoon]]. It has also been worn by Strong Bad when he was on a "regal [[rampage]]", by [[Coach Z]] in [[Where's The Cheat?]], by [[The Cheat]] in [[Strong Bad is in Jail Cartoon]], and by [[Strong Bad]] in [[Strong Badia the Free]] .

The King of Town can be heard [[The King of Town Booing|booing]] from time to time, even at himself.

*Although a week passes in the game, the calendar always says the 13th (though the King of Town is probably too lazy/busy to change the day).
*On the Wii Shop Channel download page in Europe, Videlectrix is misspelled as "Videoelectrix".

===Glitches===
*Sometimes Bubs will be stuck facing the black market door instead of the concession stand. As a result, the black market door will not open, and Bubs will be facing the wall when you try to talk to him from the front of the stand.
*When lighting certain objects on fire, sometimes the flames do not appear until Strong Bad leaves and returns to the area. This glitch is known to occur with the bush on the Homsar Reservation, the kimono in Club Technochocolate, and the skulls in Country.
*While visiting Bleak House in Extended Play, while wearing no hat, Strong Badia Shirt, Championship Belt, Camo Pants, and Homestar's boots, the game will freeze and make a buzzing noise upon saving.
*While in Bleak House, examine the bookcase in Strong Sad's room while outside the room. Then walk by his bed. While Strong Bad talks about the bookcase, he may slide towards the bed without moving his feet.
*Digging up the Strong Badia shirt will cause another hole to appear in Strong Badia, in front of the flagpole, near the cinder block.
*An error in Math Kickers will give you the rank of "Über-Pope" or "Uber-Pope" if you exceed a score of 4000 points, with everything else already maxed out. In the Wii version, the rank is "Über-Pope" (however the Ü appears as a box) and is "Uber-Pope" in the PC version.

*An error in Math Kickers in extended play, it will freeze during the game and cause a hard reset
*Pausing the game with the home button during transcript causes the last word in a phrase to be repeated.
