Character galleries
Hm, what should we do about character gallery sub-pages? I'd just as soon not have them, but I know that will make someone mad. Do we add a gallery section to the page? I sure wish we could do thumbnails. I need to talk with our host about installing ImageMagick. &mdash; 11:31, 28 Jul 2004 (MST)

:Hmm. I was just thinking the same thing about how that screenshot would look better in a box up on the right. What would we have to do to get ImageMagick? For the galleries... I don't know. Really they were just made by one person who just did a Google image search for them. They are just hotlinked images ripping off someone else's bandwidth. I say we don't need them. -- Tom 11:37, 28 Jul 2004 (MST)

Character Bios in General
Yeah, these character bios need some series work. Do we really need to mention things that happened in one toon? (The underwear thing? Sibbie?) I think we should stick to the general stuff. -- Tom 11:37, 28 Jul 2004 (MST)
"TAG TEAM WRESTLING" NOT "TAG TEAM PRO WRESTLING" (DATA EAST 1986)

No, the first guy is right. In that game, from Data East, there are only two wrestling teams, one names the "Ricky Fighters" and one called "The Strongbads." The strongbads consisted of one red masked wrestler that created red impact signs (easily mistaken for gloves) when he hit somebody. The other wrestler was a fat bearded guy. Data East has a strong case for copyright infringement...

These need more stuff about their personality. for begginners

What could also be added to this is the origination of the characters. Like say, Strong Bad. He was in a 1986 NES video game entitled "Tag Team Pro Wrestling" and is somehow copyrighted to homestarrunner.com when it was clearly copyrighted in that game. The true ownership should be credited to the real character owners.

THAT'S NOT TRUE!
You can play "Tag Team Pro Wrestling" on www.everyvideogame.com . Not only is it a crappy video game, the wrestlers are NAMELESS, and none of them wear anything resembling Strongbad's mask!

Ironically, so are both of you guys. As for StrongBad, He does not come from that game. 20X6 GEM
I think Strong Bad might be a wizard. Here are some reasons
A. His house's layout changes.
B. He has a hobby of "Barbzerdry"
C. He has telekinetic powers.
D. He has acess to moving pictures. (Strong Bad E-mail "No Loafing")

Why is anybody mentioning how SB can type with boxing gloves on? I think it is well worth mentioning

How are we even sure that those even are boxing gloves? It said in one of the interviews that Strong Bad's face is a mask, and he doesn't hae anything underneath it. Maybe his boxing gloves ARE his hands. --Darklinkskywalker 20:47, 14 Jul 2005 (UTC)

Age
I've found enough evidence to form an estimate of Strong Bad's age.

*In the SB E-mail "Two Years", Strong Bad shows us a photo of himself in 1987 which shows that he was still an adult at that time.
*In The SB E-mail "Stand-Up", we see Strong Bad as a child. Coach Z's afro indicates that the time period was the 70's.

With this evidence, I have estimated Strong Bad's age at 30-35 years old.

:I have found some evidence that contadicts your claim:
:*Strong Bad is a cartoon character.
:It's dot com 21:41, 10 Aug 2005 (UTC)

An interesting idea, but the idea of Stand up has been debated in STUFF, and we thought that Coach Z had no fashion sense, and that his afro was out of style. And Strong Bad isn't exactly human, so we really can't think of his age.

Actually, in a pure sense of considering everything, what about Strong Bad's appearance in The Castlefunnies, which got cancelled prior to 1948! That puts his age at 57, at least. Anyway, he's whatever age he needs to be for a particular cartoon. --, 23:02, 10 August 2005 (BST)
Elvis Costello
A few days ago I was watching tv and came across a song that featured a man in boxing gloves typing on a typewriter this left me wondering if that song (I don' know the name of the song I just know it's from Elvis Costello) was the inspiration for strong bad.--Sultn 08:07, 18 Aug 2005 (UTC)

:After a quick search, I found that the video for "Every Day I Write The Book" featured actors playing Prince Charles and Lady Diana. Charles is sitting at his typewriter plugging away on the book (while wearing boxing gloves). Meanwhile Princess Di is watching cheesy swashbuckling romantic black and white movies, intermittently looking over at Charles and sighing. == Triangle or Diamond? ==
Strong Bad's Poor Word Usage
I'm sure many of you have noticed Strong Bad's numerous spelling and grammatical errors throughout his email career. Do you think this deserves it's own page, an amendment to the current character bio, or just the throwaway mention it currently has? Just asking. <br/>- 05:26, 4 January 2006 (UTC)
:First of all, I'd like to move that the word "hypocrisy" not be used, since it's a pet peeve of mine when it's used to mean "someone failing to live up to what they preach". It really ought to be reserved more for situations of duplicity and misrepresentation, in which people try to make themselves appear to hold beliefs or standards that they inwardly know they don't. But to answer your question, yeah, it's common enough that it deserves something. Either expanded coverage on this page, or maybe a page to itself. I was starting to mention Running Gags and Inside Jokes, but I guess one problem is that some of these seem to be TBC goofs rather than gags. Hm. &mdash;AbdiViklas 05:39, 4 January 2006 (UTC)
::Stricken from the record. In face I won't even call it Hy****sy any more. We'll call it Josh. Ok, so would you favor just expanding the character bio more, or having it's own page that we could link stuff to? I would personally favor a new page simply because it's a slightly more complex issue than the standard bio. If someone wants to dig deep enough into the subject, they'll find a nice page waiting for them. But that's just me.<br/>- 05:59, 4 January 2006 (UTC)
:::Mm&mdash;I'm not sure. I can see merits of both. (Of having a page because it would be easy to link to and because this does have the marks of a recurring phenomenon, if not an intentional gag; and of keeping it on this page just because we seem to be making new pages every day chronicling every instance of specific conceptual entities, and maybe we need to ease up on them.) I'm... hesitant. &mdash;AbdiViklas 06:02, 4 January 2006 (UTC)
::::Understandable. I must confess that I am guilty of creating a probably useless page, though it was fun to do, and far more efficient than just tacking it on to the page in question (specifically The Paper. See Preeow and tell me what you think). Part of me is probably just looking for crap I can take credit for and I'm surpressing that urge because that's not what the Wiki is about. However, I think this particular phenomenon merits closer study and categorization, just because I keep finding loose refernces to Strong Bad's spelling errors, and I'd like to have them corralled in one place. <br/>- 06:09, 4 January 2006 (UTC)
I don't see how that is highly subjective. Maybe a little subjective. It's pretty obvious in The Cheat Theme Song, and Main Page 23. He doesn't move his head from side to side at all from the front, but he does it a lot from the back.<BR>
And I do know why it was done, but I just thought it was interesting. 02:14, 24 November 2006 (UTC)
:The out-of-universe explanation is that TBC thought it would be easier and more interesting to animate Strong Bad's head for Strong Bad Emails, and doing so isn't necessary when he's facing the camera. They, as explained on DVD commentaries, regret this decision. &mdash; It's dot com 03:10, 24 November 2006 (UTC)
Uh... I don't think Strong Bad's been in more toons than Homestar, not including SBEmails, if you counted those. You hafta think that there hasn't been a toon where SB's in (as a main part, not counting an easter egg or like, one word) that H*R isn't. I haven't counted their filmographies, though yet, so, I dunno really anything about it. Its just it seems highly unlikely. Strong Devon 21:44, 2 January 2007 (UTC)

Biography
Strong Bad is one of the most well-known characters in the Homestar Runner body of work. He started out as the villain who tried to cheat his way to the top but was always doomed to fail before Homestar Runner. In the manner that minor characters become breakout characters, he's now less of a villain and more of a highly expanded form of comic relief, with his irascible sarcasm and rough voice seeming to make him ever more popular with fans of the website.

He answers emails with a passion, and will make fun of their grammar, punctuation, and spelling&mdash;although he's not overly worried about his own. He also hates to be asked about how he manages to type with boxing gloves on. He usually does what he does best when he gets an e-mail like that: DELETED!! He also writes, illustrates, and narrates the series of Teen Girl Squad comics.

Strong Bad is the middle child of The Brothers Strong. His is the dominant personality and he loves to push everyone around: he's often abusing Homestar, kicking The Cheat, prank-calling Marzipan, or tormenting Strong Sad (although it's been hinted that they got along when they were younger). Although he seems to dislike or positively loathe most people, he enjoys the company of Bubs, The Cheat (his ever-diligent lackey), Strong Mad (his older brother), and, to a lesser extent, Pom Pom.

He has boxing gloves for hands (which always have square window reflections on them, no matter where he is), round green eyes and a red with black markings lucha libre mask for a head (as confirmed in some kinda robot). Although he claims that his mask is his face, he once removed it in the the chair. This act caused him a lot of pain but no lasting visible damage. His mouth is rectangular, though it often becomes round when he says words with the letter "o". Most of the time, Strong Bad's mouth is in a slight frown, but there are occasions where he smiles. He also wears black pants (with underwear underneath) and red boots. He usually doesn't wear a shirt; according to him, it's better to show off his abs. The blue diamond on his face also gives him the power to mentally open Cold Ones and even pop Homestar's hat off his head; however, this seems to have been abandoned, as it was only demonstrated in super powers.

Strong Bad rules the land of Strong Badia, a barren field behind the dumpsters that is completely devoid of any sentient life. His favorite saying is (or was for a time) "holy crap", though he hates when people use the word crap when signing emails. He frequently mangles words, as seen in army. ("We're a one man army. Er, a three man one-y. Three-to-one-marny?") It has also been implied that he wets the bed, a fact that he attempts to cover up with little success. However, he seems to sleep instead on the couch in his basement, frequently mumbling video game titles as he wakes surrounded by bags of Potate.

Strong Bad talks a big line, claiming to be a criminal mastermind, a muscle man, and totally popular with the ladies, though there is little evidence of any of these claims, and no shortage of evidence that they are all untrue. Strong Bad refuses to acknowledge this however, and continues unaffected with his delusions of grandeur. He is convinced that Marzipan likes, or has a crush on, him when in fact she "really doesn't like him at all." Due to his delusional opinions about himself, much of what Strong Bad says is obviously untrue.

He loves to listen to Limozeen, Taranchula, and Peter Frampton. He seems to dislike any band that isn't considered metal, as seen towards the end of concert. His favorite show is Caleb Rentpayer. He also enjoys doing Jumble puzzles and baking. His love for older technology such as cassette tapes, command prompt computers, old video games and laserdiscs, and the titles of events such as "Awexome Cross '98", and "'97" suggest that Strong Bad is "living in the past". Despite his love of the nineties, he seems to despise and destroy anything from any previous decade, like 8-Tracks, TVs that lost their essence in the '70s, and the Nintendo Entertainment System.

Strong Bad has sung many hit singles, his most popular being "Everybody to the Limit". He also stars as the protagonist in the blockbuster action series "Dangeresque".

He works with Homestar and The Cheat at an unnamed tech company, though despite this fixed income, he seems to have financial troubles, and often attempts money making solutions of questionable legitimacy and burns his bills with his BMW Lighter. His financial troubles might be partly due to his high electric bill, which he claims to be $70,000 in environment. His dream job, as stated in from work, is to be a 2nd 2nd assistant space whale scrubber.

Strong Bad is somewhat prejudiced; he has been banned from the UK, and often ridicules non-English speakers on their e-mails. He also does not get on well with old people or children, although he claims to have children of his own, including Jeffrey Beffrey Mudgeman, at his second secret home where he goes by the name Vance Mudgeman. He doesn't appear to care much for those children either, or perhaps he does and truly believes that "you got to be firm."

As evidenced in stand-up, Strong Bad once did stand-up comedy as a kid. He apparently wasn't very good, as he tried to make up jokes instead of using natural comedy or rehearsed jokes. However, he doesn't like talking about his act, because his pants fell down in front of the audience, and he ran away embarrassed.
Strength
There is highly conflicting evidence regarding Strong Bad's strength. For the most part, it is implied that Strong Bad is actually very weak and out of shape and that "Strong Bad" is merely his name and not an accurate description: In the email lady fan, he is unable to do even a single push-up, and states that he used to be able to do only four. In addition, the paper on Strong Bad's desk in the Homestar Quiz reads "Strong Bad isn't so strong after all. If he tried hard, which of the following could he lift?", and lists the choices as "an ounce", "a week", "a weak", and "pepper". Strong Sad has stated on his blog that Strong Bad's punches do not hurt, compared against Strong Mad's that do. On the other hand, in the email car, Strong Bad demonstrates the ability to punch Homestar hard enough to hit and crack the wall, and in the email secret identity, he literally tosses both Homestar and the King of Town out of his house. He can also easily pick up and carry the supposedly 42-pound Lappy 486, and is quite adept at kicking The Cheat (hinted in Where's The Cheat? to weigh about 18 pounds). In the email lady...ing, Strong Bad picks up and throws an anvil. It is possible that, like Homestar's "arms", Strong Bad's true strength may be purposely ambiguous.

Fun Facts
*Strong Bad and Strong Mad, and their original role as tag team wrestlers, came from the Nintendo video game Tag Team Wrestling created by Data East U.S.A. in 1986. In this game, one of the teams is called "The Strong Bads."
*Apparently, Strong Bad is able to survive, stand up, and even talk, with a hole blasted in his head, as shown in Marshmallow's Last Stand and the email lady...ing.
*As evidenced in the e-mail your funeral, it appears that his eyes will turn black after he dies.
*He has never completely closed his mouth, and he supposedly has a green tongue.
*Strong Bad was originally conceived as a masked wrestler because in their childhood, The Brothers Chaps viewed masked wrestlers as the embodiment of evil, making them an ideal choice for an antagonist.
*As seen by Lil' Strong Bad and in highschool, his head seems to become more oval-shaped as he grows older.
*When he is sleeping, he mumbles names of famous SNES games, such as Super Contra or Chrono Trigger.
*Strong Bad's head moves around a lot more when he speaks facing away from the camera than when he speaks facing towards it. This is true even when he thinks he is facing the camera.
*As of 18 March 2007, Strong Bad has the highest complete filmography of all the characters on the website, appearing in 320 toons.
**Of all the characters' lines on the website, he also has the most lines and the largest collection of quotes for a character.
*Strong Bad hopes to become a 2nd 2nd Assistant Space-Whale scrubber.
*Strong Bad has a habit of pronouncing certain words with an "uhr" sound the way a stereotypical New Yorker would pronounce them (e.g. he says "soivice" instead of "service" in lackey).
*As evidenced in from work and business trip, Strong Bad is currently employed.
*At his fastest, Strong Bad types approximately 240 words per minute (in a segment in death metal).
Marzipan is certain to win the Reddest Radish contest. Strong Bad and company feign a note to Marzipan from Homestar Runner, saying he's sick, to lure her away from her house. This cartoon has a unique "paper doll cut-out" visual style.

{Opening Music and Title Screen}
CAPTION: On the day of the Reddest Radish contest, Marzipan was in her garden getting ready...

Crow:..to find a way out of this flash and kill the Chapmans.

MARZIPAN: La la la la la la la... La la la la

Tom (Marizipan):Doe, a dear, a female dear.

{Marzipan picks a radish}
{Canned laughter}
{The Cheat appears from behind a bush and drops a note that lands at Marzipan's feet. She picks it up.}

Mike (Marzipan):You mean the rest of your kind are invading?

MARZIPAN: Oh! This note leads me to believe that Homestar Runner is sick.

Crow:And now you know why he was in the woman's bathroom.

{The note reads "i am sick. —homestar runner"}

Mike:This flash leads me to believe that Marzipan is stupid.

{Canned laughter}
MARZIPAN: I'd better go check on him. {heads offscreen to Homestar's house}
{Enter Strong Bad, The Cheat, and Strong Mad with a wagon}
STRONG BAD: Okay, get the vegetable!

Tom (Strong Bad):The vegetable! Get the vegetable so we can survive!

{Canned booing}
STRONG BAD: Now let's cheat it!
{They throw the radish on the wagon and leave}
{Cuts to Marzipan at Homestar's house. She knocks on the door with her head.}

Mike (Homestar):Marzipan, I think you need to be in Veggie Tales.
Tom:Looks like it's going to be like that.
Crow (Strong Bad):Get the vegetable!

MARZIPAN: Ouch. Homestar Runner, are you OK? {knocks with head again} Homestar, are you in there? It's me, Marzipan!
{Canned laughter}
{Cuts to Strong Bad, The Cheat and Strong Mad, wagon and radish in tow.}
{Canned booing}
STRONG BAD: Oh man you guys, with Marzipan's radish, we're gonna win the competition, and then, maybe get uh, famous...a little...

Crow (Strong Bad):And kill the Brothers Chaps!
Mike:Crow, would he really do that?
Crow:No, but I hope he does.

{Canned laughter}
{Cuts to Homestar Runner and Pom Pom and a stage with a banner that says "Reddest Radish"}
ANNOUNCER: Ladies and gentlemen, the competition will begin in 15 minutes. Please bring your radishes to the staging area.
HOMESTAR RUNNER: Pom Pom, where's Marzipan? She's supposed to be here!
{Cuts to Marzipan, still at Homestar's house. She knocks with her head}
MARZIPAN: Ouch. Homestar, let me in.

Tom:Maybe after the contest, Homestar might get a botton for his door, and get Marzipan a brain.

{Knocks again}
MARZIPAN: Ouch. Homestar Runner, are you in there? {Pause} I'm leaving. {Leaves}

Crow:She has a brain!

{Canned laughter}
{Cuts to Strong Bad, The Cheat, and Strong Mad, pulling the wagon and radish}

STRONG BAD: {To the tune of "La Cucharacha"} We got the radish, we got the radish, and we're gonna win the contest!

Mike:These are really bad puns, really bad puns.
Tom:Well just think about. At least it isn't as bad as Manos.
Mike:What?
Crow:Oh, Mike, you don't wanna know.

{Canned booing}
{Cuts to Homestar Runner and Pom Pom by the stage, a can at their feet}
POM POM: {Bubbles}

Crow:Bubble to you too, bally!

HOMESTAR RUNNER: You know what, Pom Pom? You're right. Kicking this can would make me feel better. {He kicks it}
{Cuts to Strong Bad, The Cheat, and Strong Mad}
{Canned booing}
{The can that Homestar Runner kicked lands in front of the wagon, and the wagon goes over it, causing the radish to fly out}
STRONG BAD: What the...? Holy crap!

Tom:I can't describe this flash better without that word!

{Strong Bad, The Cheat, and Strong Mad rush off, leaving afterimages}
STRONG BAD AFTERIMAGE: Holy crap!
{Canned laughter and the after images rush off. The radish is still flying through the air.}
HOMESTAR RUNNER: Hey, that radish is Marzipan's!
STRONG BAD: Out of the way, Homestar!
{The radish lands and they all fight over it in a cloud of dust. The dust clears, the villains are on the ground, stood over by Pom Pom and Homestar is on the stage with the radish}

Mike:I think this gets my award for the most surreal flash ever.

{Marzipan enters}
HOMESTAR RUNNER: Look Marzipan, I got the Reddest Radish back from Strong Baaaaaaaaaaad!

Crow:Ba, ba, ba ,ba, ba , ba, bad!

MARZIPAN: What on earth are you talking about? That's not the Reddest Radish! This is!
{Marzipan pulls out a gargantuan red radish. Homestar falls off the stage, and Pom Pom falls to land sideways. Laughter. Marzipan stands on the stage with her radish and a first prize trophy}
MARZIPAN: I'm the winner!
{Canned laughter}
CAPTION: the end.

All:Yay!

{We're at some type of sports field. Homestar is running back and forth and he knocks over Strong Sad. Pom Pom starts jumping on him and the electronic score board is keeping count. Also, Bubs is there for some reason. Coach Z blows his whistle}

COACH Z: Okay there boys, pack it up, pack it in.

{Homestar walks over to him, sweating}

COACH Z: Great jaerb there, Homestar. {Homestar opens his mouth}

HOMESTAR RUNNER: Uhhhm...I'm sorry. What?

COACH Z: I uh, I say you did a great jorb out there!

HOMESTAR RUNNER: I did a great WHAT?

COACH Z: A great jaerb!

Crow (CoachZ):I said gibberish!

HOMESTAR RUNNER: Oh. Man. Pom Pom, you've gotta check this out. {Pom Pom bounces over} Okay, Coach, tell Pom Pom what I did today.

COACH Z: Err, uh well, I was just telling Homestar here that he done a great joearb.

{Pom Pom laughs}

HOMESTAR RUNNER: {laughs} Coach, that's ridiculous. We have got to do something about that.

{Cut to the chalkboard, where Homestar is wearing a mortar board and holding a pointer. The board has "JOB vs. JAERB" on it. Homestar crosses out Jaerb and circles Job}

{cut to Marzipan at the chalkboard. She has 3 pictures of mouths with the letters labelled A, E, and O}

MARZIPAN: O. Job. O. Job.

COACH Z: JEEOOORGHHHBBB!!!!!

Tom (Coach Z):4 more years! 4 more years!

MARZIPAN: Coach Z, you should make your mouth into an O, like this. OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.

COACH Z: You mean like this? OOORREEAARRRORRR!!!!!!

Mike:Get King Kong off the Empire State Building!

MARZIPAN: That’s better!

{Cut to the cinema, where Coach Z is strapped into a seat while his eyes are forced open very wide with a red outline while Pom Pom supervises. The screen flashes the word "job" over and over, followed by pictures of people with Pom heads.}

Mike:Hey, what does this remind me of....

The Business Man's JOB is to give the Business.<br>
The Construction Worker's JOB is to smash things.<br>
The Poopsmith's JOB is obvious.

{is on the screen, with pictures}

COACH Z: {Looks to be in pain; his face is red and is sweating} JEEEOOORREEAARRB!!!!!!!

{cut to some sort of alleyway. Strong Bad, Strong Mad and The Cheat are standing in front of a brick wall with the word JOB stylishly written in graffiti. Strong Bad has a grin on his face}

STRONG BAD: Okay, Coach, let’s give this one more try. Repeat after me. JOB.

COACH Z: Jorb.

{Strong Bad looks at Strong Mad and clears his throat}

STRONG BAD: Yes, uh, this sounds very good. Uh, my only recommendation would be, next time, try to add some more syllables. Perhaps three. Perhaps four. {Snickers, then bursts out laughing wildly, along with Strong Mad and The Cheat. Coach Z looks down, ashamed and embarrased, and walks off. Strong Bad and the others continue laughing hysterically.}

{Cut to the locker room. Coach Z is sitting on the bench.}

COACH Z: Oh, jeez. I’m just not cut out to say the word "jaerb." How am I ever going to face the boys at practice tomorrow?

{Strong Sad enters.}

STRONG SAD: Uhh, Coach Z, uhh, I heard about your problem and I think that I can help. {hands him a tape} This is a tape I made from when I was practicing the dictionary. Listen to it while you slumber. And tomorrow, you may wake to find that...

Tom:And now, we go to the low of subliminal messages....

COACH Z: {interrupting} Oh, wow! Thanks a lot, Strong Sad!

{Coach Z puts the tape in a tape machine. The tape is labelled "Job—285,194 times." He then presses PLAY and goes to sleep on a bench in the locker room.}

STRONG SAD: Job. Job. Job. Job. Job. Job. Job. Job...

{Coach Z starts having dreams about Strong Sad jumping over a fence and saying the word "job" over and over.}

Crow (Coach Z):One, two....

{The next day, at the football field, only Coach Z and Homestar are there. The score board keeps track of how many times Homestar changes directions while running. Coach Z blows his whistle}

HOMESTAR RUNNER: Well, Coach, how'd I do today?

COACH Z: Well, I tell ya. You did a great job, {Homestar looks happily surprised} Hamstray.

{Homestar becomes annoyed and sighs. He starts to leave.}

COACH Z: No, wait! I mean Hamster! I mean Stramstar. I mean Stairmaster. Homegrown! Ramrod? Humphel?

Crow:Homegrown humps!
Tom:Turn a horse into a camel in seconds!

THE END

Easter Eggs
*If you wait a short while, you will get to play the "Coach Z Talker."

Fun Facts
Trivia
*This is the first full-length Homestar Runner cartoon that uses the Chaps' current animation style, except for The Cheat, Marzipan, Strong Bad and Strong Sad, who are still drawn in the old style.
*At the rate Strong Sad repeats the word job on the tape, it would take him right at 100 hours to say it the 285,194 times.
*This is the only time we have seen a sidewalk in Free Country, USA. This may suggest that it has at least some pavement in it.

Remarks
*The old pop-up menu appears on this cartoon (at the bottom). All the buttons still work. Only this toon, Chinese Food Toons Menu, Where's The Cheat?, Broken Tandy Menu, and the Yearbook Character Page seem to still have it.

Goofs
*In the scene with Homestar at the chalkboard, the older version of Homestar's legs were used. They're supposed to be long and close together, but these are shorter and placed apart.
*Also in the chalkboard scene, Coach Z is looking toward the camera instead of at the chalkboard.
*When Strong Sad first walks into the locker room, the label on his "job" tape is written backwards.
*Oddly enough, when Strong Sad and Coach Z are in the locker room, the wheels on the cassette tape are spinning, even though it isn't in a tape player.

Inside References
*Homestar saying, "Oh man, Pom Pom." is a reference to The Luau when Homestar says the same thing when he arrives at Strong Bad's party.
*Homestar at the chalkboard wearing a teacher's cap refers to The King of Town DVD.

Real-World References
*In the scene with Pom Pom in the Movie Theatre, you may notice a silhouette of Tom Servo of Mystery Science Theater 3000 fame on the left of Coach Z.
*Coach Z strapped into the chair in the theatre is a reference to the Stanley Kubrick film A Clockwork Orange.
*Coach Z calls Homestar Runner "Stairmaster," a reference to the StairMaster work-out product.
*"Pack it up, pack it in" is a reference to the old House of Pain song "Jump Around."

Fast Forward
*The A and O background noises in Coach Z's "Job Dream" are used again in the Strong Bad Email "lures & jigs."
Marzipan is certain to win the Reddest Radish contest. Strong Bad and company feign a note to Marzipan from Homestar Runner, saying he's sick, to lure her away from her house. This cartoon has a unique "paper doll cut-out" visual style.
{Opening Music and Title Screen}

{Marzipan picks a radish}
{Canned laughter}
{The Cheat appears from behind a bush and drops a note that lands at Marzipan's feet. She picks it up.}

Mike (Marzipan):You mean the rest of your kind are invading?

MARZIPAN: Oh! This note leads me to believe that Homestar Runner is sick.

Crow:And now you know why he was in the woman's bathroom.

{The note reads "i am sick. —homestar runner"}

Mike:This flash leads me to believe that Marzipan is stupid.

{Canned laughter}
MARZIPAN: I'd better go check on him. {heads offscreen to Homestar's house}
{Enter Strong Bad, The Cheat, and Strong Mad with a wagon}
STRONG BAD: Okay, get the vegetable!

Tom (Strong Bad):The vegetable! Get the vegetable so we can survive!

{Canned booing}
STRONG BAD: Now let's cheat it!
{They throw the radish on the wagon and leave}
{Cuts to Marzipan at Homestar's house. She knocks on the door with her head.}

{Canned laughter}
{Cuts to Strong Bad, The Cheat and Strong Mad, wagon and radish in tow.}
{Canned booing}

{Canned laughter}
{Cuts to Homestar Runner and Pom Pom and a stage with a banner that says "Reddest Radish"}
ANNOUNCER: Ladies and gentlemen, the competition will begin in 15 minutes. Please bring your radishes to the staging area.
HOMESTAR RUNNER: Pom Pom, where's Marzipan? She's supposed to be here!
{Cuts to Marzipan, still at Homestar's house. She knocks with her head}
MARZIPAN: Ouch. Homestar, let me in.

Tom:Maybe after the contest, Homestar might get a botton for his door, and get Marzipan a brain.

{Knocks again}
MARZIPAN: Ouch. Homestar Runner, are you in there? {Pause} I'm leaving. {Leaves}

Crow:She has a brain!

{Canned laughter}
{Cuts to Strong Bad, The Cheat, and Strong Mad, pulling the wagon and radish}

{Canned booing}
{Cuts to Homestar Runner and Pom Pom by the stage, a can at their feet}
POM POM: {Bubbles}

Crow:Bubble to you too, bally!

HOMESTAR RUNNER: You know what, Pom Pom? You're right. Kicking this can would make me feel better. {He kicks it}
{Cuts to Strong Bad, The Cheat, and Strong Mad}
{Canned booing}
{The can that Homestar Runner kicked lands in front of the wagon, and the wagon goes over it, causing the radish to fly out}
STRONG BAD: What the...? Holy crap!

Tom:I can't describe this flash better without that word!

{Strong Bad, The Cheat, and Strong Mad rush off, leaving afterimages}
STRONG BAD AFTERIMAGE: Holy crap!
{Canned laughter and the after images rush off. The radish is still flying through the air.}
HOMESTAR RUNNER: Hey, that radish is Marzipan's!
STRONG BAD: Out of the way, Homestar!
{The radish lands and they all fight over it in a cloud of dust. The dust clears, the villains are on the ground, stood over by Pom Pom and Homestar is on the stage with the radish}

Mike:I think this gets my award for the most surreal flash ever.

{Marzipan enters}

This is!
{Marzipan pulls out a gargantuan red radish. Homestar falls off the stage, and Pom Pom falls to land sideways. Laughter. Marzipan stands on the stage with her radish and a first prize trophy}
MARZIPAN: I'm the winner!
{Canned laughter}
CAPTION: the end.

All:Yay!

Fun Facts
Trivia
*When Homestar Runner, Pom Pom, Strong Mad, and Strong Bad are in a fight for the raddish, their colors are: Strong Bad turns red, Pom Pom turns yellow, Strong Mad turns black, Homestar Runner turns red, and The Cheat turns to a darker yellow.
* The usual "back" and "again" links at the end do not appear in this cartoon.

Remarks
*Strong Mad's boots are colored black, instead of their usual red color.

Real-World References
* The way Marzipan pulls out the radish resembles a character pulling an item out of the ground in the video game Super Mario Bros. 2.
* The announcer pronounces "please" in the same way as the titular character of the 1988 film Who Framed Roger Rabbit.
