Looking for something to do? You're in luck. Below is a list of projects the wiki community is currently engaged in. You should be able to find something in here to keep you busy.
== Wiki Cleanup ==
Ongoing cleanup tasks can be found at [[HRWiki:Cleanup]]

== Links to be fixed ==
*Any [[Homestar Runner]] link that in context discusses the flash cartoon as a whole and not the actual character Homestar can be changed to [[Homestar Runner (flash cartoon)]]

==Kobe Problem==
Figure out a way to fix the [[Kobe]] problem discussed [[Talk:Kobe|here]].
:Fixed as of 17:28, 5 May 2005 (UTC). The solution is explained on the talk page.

==TBC G4techTV Interview - 01 Aug 2003==
Due to the success of pages like [[TMBG Concert - 25 Sep 2004]] and [[Screen Savers Interview - 24 Jan 2005]], we bring you [[Pulse Interview - 1 Aug 2003]], a new page for the "Pulse" video interview [http://www.g4techtv.com/html/videostream.asp?file=G4_Extras_Pulse_Homestar.wmv available for download] on the [[Links]] page.

:It would be brilliant if somebody would do this.

:P.S. Please sign your posts. [[User:InterruptorJones|<nowiki></nowiki>]]<small>&mdash;&nbsp;[[User:InterruptorJones|InterruptorJones]]</small>[[<nowiki></nowiki>]] 14:00, 9 Feb 2005 (MST)

I have since completed the entire transcript of [[Pulse Interview - 1 Aug 2003|this interview]] - so this can probably be "refactored" or removed entirely from Projects. Right now, I would appreciate if others would check my work for accuracy as a few more eyes will catch the errors that I most inevitably made. For the record, I intentionally omitted many instances of the word "Uh" spoken by Matt and Mike as they don't contribute to the interview. However, there likely are some "on the record" types who insist transcripts be as accurate a possible - feel free to include them if you feel compelled to. --[[User:The Paper|The Paper]] 16:15, 2 Mar 2005 (MST)
== Splitting Fun Facts ==
Any toon, game- any article with many fun facts needs to be split into the categories found in [[HRWiki:Standards]].

[[Category:HRWiki Maintenance]]

==Release Dates==

I've noticed that a lot of Toons and E-mails now have 'release date' in bold at the top of the page, with an accompanying date. I really like this feature, but it only goes back so far. Until now. With the recent use of the Live Journal website, I have managed to compile a mostly complete list of updates, going back until late 2001. (It gets sketchy there.) So anyways, if anyone wants to go over those new past updates pages, and add the release dates to the many Toons, emails, etc., that would be much appreciated. Thanks.
[[User:Thunderbird L17|''<small><tt>[[User:Thunderbird L17|<font color=gold>⇔Thunderbird⇔</font>]]</tt></small>'']] 02:59, 25 Feb 2005 (MST)

==Tying Updates Together==

I'm kinda afriad to do this, because they all have some kinda notoc thing or something on the pages, I don't know what they do, and am too scared I'll mess it up. So can somebody, somehow, tie all the updates pages, (2005, 2004, 2003, 2002, and 2001) all together? Either just expand the disclaimers at the tops of all of them, or maybe even make a new page with all of them on there or something? I dunno, it's up to you, but they really should be linked to somehow, now that they're all doneish.
[[User:Thunderbird L17|''<small><tt>[[User:Thunderbird L17|<font color=gold>⇔Thunderbird⇔</font>]]</tt></small>'']] 18:05, 25 Feb 2005 (MST)
:I made a [[:Template:updates-box|template]] that we could use; what do you guys think? [[User:Kilroy|<nowiki></nowiki>]]&mdash;[[User:Kilroy|Kilroy]]/<small>[[User talk:Kilroy|talk]]</small>[[<nowiki></nowiki>]] 18:54, 25 Feb 2005 (MST)
:::So do I, it's always annoying when I try to add a new 2005 update, I have to go into the code to find the other page that I CAN edit and everything. If we add this to all 4 pages, It'll be way easier to add an update, and navigate. Count this a vote for yes.
[[User:Thunderbird L17|''<small><tt>[[User:Thunderbird L17|<font color=gold>⇔Thunderbird⇔</font>]]</tt></small>'']] 11:54, 27 Feb 2005 (MST)

== Running Times ==

It appears that at least [[User:tomstiff|tomstiff]], possibly others, have begun adding 'Running Time' to many toons, expanding on the section that includes Date. I think this feature is almost as important and useful as date, so if anyone would like to add running times to the various e-mails and toons, I think they would apprecate a bit of help. [[User:Thunderbird L17|''<small><tt>[[User:Thunderbird L17|<font color=gold>⇔Thunderbird⇔</font>]]</tt></small>'']] 20:37, 7 Mar 2005 (MST)
High fives for everyone!''
:The Brothers Chaps made [http://2005.sxsw.com/interactive/conference/panels/?action=show&id=IAP0063 an appearance at SxSW]. There is tons and tons of info out there on this, since the kind of people who attend blogger conferences are typically bloggers. See [http://www.google.com/search?q=homestar+sxsw Google] and [http://www.technorati.com/cosmos/search.html?rank=&url=homestar+sxsw Technorati] for many writeups. There are also a bunch of photos at [http://www.flickr.com/photos/search/tags:homestar%2Csxsw/tagmode:all/ Flickr]. (Though be sure to get permission for any photos used.)
:Note that there seems to be a bit of content from [[NYU Talk - 1 Mar 2005]].
*[[User:InterruptorJones|Jones]] [http://forum.hrwiki.org/viewtopic.php?t=2396 found] some video links for us too! There's a bit of overlap, so we should be able to get a great transcript.

== Introducing a new Interwiki link ==
===homestarrunner.com links===
I just set up a new interwiki link that I think will make things super-easy around here (though I shant take the credit, it was [[User:InterruptorJones|Jones]]' idea). From now on, when you want to build a link to the official Homestar Runner site, use

<nowiki>[[HR:sbemail.htm|Strong Bad Email]]</nowiki>

instead of

<nowiki>[http://www.homestarrunner.com/sbemail.htm Strong Bad Email]</nowiki>

It's that simple. [[User:JoeyDay|<nowiki></nowiki>]] &mdash;[[User:JoeyDay|JoeyDay]] [[User talk:JoeyDay|(Talk)]] 15:23, 21 Mar 2005 (MST)

:All links to homestarrunner.com should be changed to the new interwiki-type shortcut format, since now with MediaWiki 1.4 all external links have a rel="nofollow" attribute. For information on "nofollow", please see [http://www.google.com/googleblog/2005/01/preventing-comment-spam.html this Google article].[[User:Tom|<nowiki></nowiki>]] -- [[User:Tom|Tom]] 14:19, 3 Apr 2005 (MDT)

:Actually, that was ''my'' idea when we were moving to MediaWiki :P - [[User:furrykef|furrykef]] ([[User_talk:furrykef|Talk at me]]) 08:21, 26 Apr 2005 (UTC)

::I think you had a [http://www.hrwiki.org/index.php?title=Talk%3AStrong_Bad_Email&diff=533&oldid=530 similar] idea.[[User:Tom|<nowiki></nowiki>]] -- [[User:Tom|Tom]] 20:42, 26 Apr 2005 (UTC)

:::That's not what I was talking about at all. I was talking about Interwiki, exactly the way Joey did it. I don't know if that discussion actually took place on this wiki or not, though. Of course, it's not important anyway. :) - [[User:furrykef|furrykef]] ([[User_talk:furrykef|Talk at me]]) 12:53, 27 Apr 2005 (UTC)

===Forum links===
There's another new interwiki link: <code>Forum</code>

:Example: <nowiki>[[Forum:1226|forum thread re: "montage"]]</nowiki> becomes [[Forum:1226|forum thread re: "montage"]].

Again, it's just that simple. &mdash; [[User:It's dot com|It's dot com]] 23:11, 7 Aug 2005 (UTC)

:'''I'm on it.''' -[[User:Polly|Polly]] 00:14, 8 Aug 2005 (UTC)

== Fan Stuff List ==

I'm trying to get all the Fan Stuff Items onto the [[Fan Stuff]] page. #1 - 10 are already there, if anybody could do a few I'd appreciate it. --[[User:Gafaddict|Gafaddict]] 13:10, 29 Mar 2005 (MST)

== Sightings ==
The [[Sightings]] page has some terrible grammar and spelling and is altogether very cluttered. The whole page needs to be cleared out. &rarr;''<small><tt>[[User:FireBird|<font color=green>FireBird</font>]]</tt></small>''

:I think Sightings should be split into various page like TV Sightings, Comic Sightings etc. That nobody has to sift through a million "this webcomic made a reference" sightings to get to interesting ones. <small><tt>[[User:Homestar Coder|<span style="color:#8B0000;">Aurora the Homestar Coder</span>]]</tt></small> 16:59, 29 Apr 2005 (UTC)
== Food ==
I recently added a new article, [[Food]] , because there are something like 30 different food articles which aren't connected. I didn't have enough time, though, to write much or make a very extensive list. Please help out. I also added a Cuisine section to the [[Free Country, USA]] page.

- [[Anonymous]]

:Lists like you are thinking of making are generated by our category system. See [[:Category:Food and drinks]]. Also, I left a comment on the [[Talk:Food|talk page]] regarding the merits of that article.[[User:Tom|<nowiki></nowiki>]] -- [[User:Tom|Tom]] 15:44, 4 May 2005 (UTC)

==Things to Merge==
*[[Army-Style Mayo]] / [[Awwww Gratin Potates]] / [[Good Gravy]] -> [[King of Town Select Food]] or similar. See discussion [[Talk:Ice_Style_Cream|here]].

==Music Video Visuals==
When it comes to music videos, the visuals are nearly half the cartoon, yet only the lyrics are listed. "[Insert Toon's Name Here] Visuals" pages need to be added for every music video, similar to [[Rock Opera Visuals|this one]].

== Track Information Template ==
I'm trying to get all the pages related to the tracks on the Strong Bad Sings CD to use the [[Template:Track information]] in the "Detailed Information" section, rather than everything being typed out. You can see the template in action on the page for [[The System Is Down (song)|The System Is Down]]. --[[User:Gafaddict|Gafaddict]] 18:03, 3 Jul 2005 (UTC)

== TriviaTime ==

Please help add interesting questions to JoeyDay's [[User:JoeyDay/TriviaTime|TriviaTime]].

== Easter Egg Character Problem ==

I've noticed that in toons and emails, the characters that are only seen in easter eggs sometimes have "(easter egg)'' following their names on the cast, such as [[haircut]] and others don't.

==Release Dates==

Thanks.

I didn't have enough time, though, to write much or make a very extensive list. Please help out. I also added a Cuisine section to the [[Free Country, USA]] page.
==Music Video Visuals==
When it comes to music videos, the visuals are nearly half the cartoon, yet only the lyrics are listed. "[Insert Toon's Name Here] Visuals" pages need to be added for every music video, similar to [[Rock Opera Visuals|this one]].
Teen Girl Squad

[[Image:teengirlsquad.png|thumb|The girls are looking SO GOOD!]]

In the [[Strong Bad Email]] "[[comic]]," a girl named Brittany asked if [[Strong Bad]] could make a comic strip about her four friends: Virginia, Joy, Kristin, and Jennifer. Strong Bad's spur of the moment comic strip soon became a series. Teen Girl Squad centers on four teenage girls &mdash; [[Cheerleader]], [[So and So]], [[What's Her Face]], and [[The Ugly One]] &mdash; who like to buy clothes and attract cute boys and look SO GOOD! Unfortunately, they are all-too-often subjected to the random dangers of Strong Bad's overactive imagination. But being killed doesn't seem to be a problem for the girls, for they are always back for the next episode. A running gag in this comic is how Strong Bad makes his own verbs by adding 'd to a noun. For example "Stepmom'd" This usally happens when a bald man nicknamed the [[Arrow'd Guy]] is on the scene. Another running gag is how [[The Birds]] in the sky (or on a postcard) are killed in almost every episode.
**The Ugly One: "teacher just called me 'young man'"
**The Ugly One: "i'm in love with liquid paper."
[[The Homestar Runner]] plays a mean one, which [[Stinkoman]] assumes is a robot. [[Saddy Dumpington]] ([[Strong Sad]]'s 18th century persona) also would have played washboard.

An '''inside joke''' is something that is only found on the site in two or three places, and is obscure in most or all instances. Something that has been featured more than three times usually becomes a regular feature of the site. For instance: [[Trogdor]], [[Homsar]] and [[fhqwhgads]] are no longer inside jokes, even though they started out that way.

These are the things that people who are new to Homestar Runner would simply not get at all. In fact, some of us who have seen most of the cartoons may not have fully picked up on them.

The inside jokes usually come from the [[Strong Bad Email]]s.

Tompkins:

Should this be under some directory? like...thingies or something? Just a thought. -- [[User:AgentSeethroo|AgentSeethroo]] 14:48, 6 Aug 2004 (MST)

:That's a good question. I know we'll have something like "Inside Jokes", where most the stuff form the "InsideJokes" page will go. Then there's going to be the stuff that was in the Rejects. They aren't going to be "Rejects", and they will all have their own page, but yeah, we'll have to have a catagory or something for them. The Paper... I don't know. I know there's a "Characters" catagory, and a "Main Characters" category for "The Twelve", but I can't think of anything right now. -- [[User:Tom|Tom]] 15:15, 6 Aug 2004 (MST)

::This could sound kinda silly, but we can put the paper in a section called "Integral Elements", along with SB's comp. and stuff like that, like things that aren't characters or settings, but are integral to each SBEmail or whatever. Whatcha think? -- [[User:AgentSeethroo|AgentSeethroo]] 15:53, 6 Aug 2004 (MST)

:::Hmm... Is this where Coach Z's "Z" would go? How about Strong Mad's singlet? Homestar's hat? The stool? The get up noise? Strong Bad's shoe? Marzipan's hair? Where do we draw the line? Arg. -- [[User:Tom|Tom]] 16:30, 6 Aug 2004 (MST)

::::Well, you pose a good question. I think the "Integral Elements" is a good idea for the important stuff like compy and whatnot...for the unimportant, I think maybe we can have a "Misc." or "Odds'n'Ends" type thing...but you're right...a line has to be drawn. Apparently there are some more The Paper oddities in the Strong Bad DVD. I don't own the DVD but could someone who does please update this page to reflect this? == Gender ==

More of an interesting observation, but does that mean that The Printer is Female ([[invisibility]]) and The Paper is Male ([[animal]])? Wow...

Nope, see the last bullet.

:*''The Paper and the printer are therefore separate identities, as The Paper is male and the printer is female. I'm guessing The Paper is the printer's son.''

I removed the recently-added information above as it simply refers to information stated in previous 'oddity' bullets. The part about guessing that The Paper is the printer's son is merely speculation and if it were reworded somehow to be more professional I think it could return to the article. --[[User:The Paper|The Paper]] 19:24, 9 Dec 2004 (MST)

What's with all this stuff about assigning the inanimate objects gender? I mean, we call boats "she" but we don't say they're actually female. It could just be a figure of speech (although the ending to [[animal]] implies that The Paper is intelligent, which means it may actually have a gender.)

Well, we're not talking about a normal world here... with humans... so the inanimate objects could have genders. -- [[User:Asploder|Asploder]]

== Does not seem to have a printer? ==
Stong Band has a printer in the [[Email Processing Room|the processing room]]! --[[User:VolatileChemical|VolatileChemical]] 01:21, 25 Jun 2005 (UTC)

:'''Stong Band'''? Is that some sort of elastic cord maker? http://forum.hrwiki.org/images/smiles/icon_mrgreen.gif Joking, of course... Yes, you are right about the printer in that old looping clip. But this still doesn't answer or shed any light on how the printer can somehow "invert" itself (because it nearly always prints downward) or how it seems to manifest itself out of the clear blue skies in several toons and emails. I don't think we'll ever know. Well, perhaps once we see Strong Bad Email #173, if the [[montage#Easter_Eggs|montage]] inkjet printer upgrade story can be trusted. {{User:The Paper/sig}} 03:58, 25 Jun 2005 (UTC)

== Preeeow ==

What is the canon spelling of The Paper's sound effect? This page says it's "preeeow", but Strong Bad types it as "Prreeow" in [[haircut]], and on the note at the end of [[part-time job]] he spells it "preeeeow". Which is it?? -[[User:Polly|Polly]] 08:39, 3 Aug 2005 (UTC)
: I think you might be reading too far into it. Given that even TBC can't keep it consistent, let's just say that it has a variable number of Rs (at least 1) and Es (at least 2) and leave it at that. --{{User:Jay/sig}} 19:28, 3 Aug 2005 (UTC)

: I think you might be reading too far into it. Given that even TBC can't keep it consistent, let's just say that it has a variable number of Rs (at least 1) and Es (at least 2) and leave it at that. --{{User:Jay/sig}} 19:28, 3 Aug 2005 (UTC)
