<blockquote class="lappy email"><div>subject: hygiene movie</div>
Dear Strongbad,<br />
In 5th grade I have to watch a lame hygiene movie. I was thinking you could make a better movie about hygiene than the crudy school version.<br />
Your friend,<br />
John Katulla

*At the end, click on "whatever" to see what Coach Z thinks of Strong Bad's video.
:{Coach Z and Strong Bad are in the classroom. Strong Bad stands beside a TV stand. The television reads "Embarrasing Educational Films". Coach Z is sitting on a chair in front of the TV.}
:COACH Z: I love it! Where can I get me some of this hygiene?
:STRONG BAD: You know, for a guy that lives ten feet from a bunch of showers, you think you'd be a little more familiar.
:COACH Z: What showers?
:STRONG BAD: Uh, that big tiled room with all the shower head coming out of the wall?
:COACH Z: I thought thems were my dripping broken speakers! I got mad four-inch tweeters, B!
*At the end, click on "ancient" to see a tribute to Matt's and Jackie's deceased cat, Mabel.
*At the end, click on "Mothmouth" to see a Strong Badman comic cover about "Mothmouth".

Fun Facts
Remarks
*At the end, the paper prints out a Calibration Test. You can still click on the lines to e-mail Strong Bad, however.
*We have seen Coach Z take a shower before in the second deleted scene of In Search of the Yello Dello.

Inside References
*The way Strong Bad pronounces John Katulla's name is a reference to retirement.
*The cat seen in the Easter egg is Mabel, Matt and Jackie's pet, who was previously seen in website.
*Homestar/John's room is littered with bowls of crispy puffed-rice cereal, last seen in candy product.

Real-World References
*THX is a hi-fidelity sound reproduction system used in movies. It was founded by George Lucas, a filmmaker known for extensive use of special effects.

Goofs
*In the last E-mail Strong Bad threw a floppy disk into the new paper so it would make a cooler/more immatatible sound but in this E-mail it was gone.

Within Homestarrunner.com there are a number of references to PBS or to shows which appear on PBS:
*Email autobiography - Strong Bad's intro ("This email is brought to you by a grant from The Cheat and the support of Viewers Like You") comes from the start of most Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) television programs.
*Email for kids - This e-mail is based on a number of ideas from PBS television shows. Some of the references include:
*: The noise Homsar makes when he teleports around are similar to noises on the PBS show Boohbah.
*: The Guitar Playing Man bears a striking resemblance to folk singer James Taylor. Taylor has made numerous appearances on the children's TV program Sesame Street, often singing educational songs.
*: Homsar asking the kids if they want to "hear of (the song) 50 times more" may be a reference to the PBS show Teletubbies, in which whenever a "real-life" clip is shown, it is always repeated per request of the Teletubbies.
*: The "letter of the day" feature in Homsar's show is reminiscent of Sesame Street, which ends each show with the mock sponsorship, "Sesame Street was brought to you ... by the letter __!"
*Email morning routine - Strong Sad says he wants to "watch that show on public broadcasting hosted by that British guy."
*Email disconnected - Bub's repetition of the phrase "twicely fresh" is reminiscent of the Sesame Street character and host of Mysterious Theater Vincent Twice's repetition of his own name.
The Island is where Homestar and Strong Bad were stranded on in the Strong Bad Email "island." It is surrounded by ocean and has a lone palm tree in its center. According to Strong Bad, it's "the worst deserted island ever."

The iPod is a portable music player Strong Sad is seen with that has Strong Bad's "Song About Sibbie". It was one of Strong Bad's and The Cheat's stolen goods in Strong Bad is in Jail Cartoon. The device has been identified as a first or second-generation Apple iPod. It can not possibly be a third-generation iPod, which would have four buttons horizontally under the screen, a fourth-generation iPod, which would not have the buttons outside the click wheel, or a fifth-generation iPod, which would have a larger screen and a click wheel. Additionally, since "Songs" appears on the screen instead of "Browse," it is probably running iPod software version 1.5 or newer.

In Podstar Runner, a different, fifth-generation iPod is seen next to the Floppy Disk Container. Notable about this video iPod is the fact that the headphone jack is located at the top center, while the real fifth-generation has the jack at the right.

In anything as big as Stinkoman 20X6 numerous bugs will arise. Most are unique to some levels, although many others are linked to problems with Flash, and others have been fixed.
General
*If you fall long enough and don't touch anything, Stinkoman will stop doing his falling pose and act like he's standing and will even start to yawn. Such a long fall can be found in stage 2.2, 6.1, 6.2, and -0.2. 1-Up will do this as well, but there's no place to attempt it on his level.
*When Stinkoman is about to yawn, his sprite character moves down one pixel.
*If you manage to die and kill a boss simultaneously, the "Keep Try" "Game Over" screen appears, but then you'll continue the game, having lost the life, but still with no energy (so if you get hit you lose a second life).
*If you press A immediately at the very beginning of a level where Stinkoman starts in the air, Stinkoman will look like he is walking on ground for a moment, and he will then jump in the air.
*If you jump on the left of a wall enough, you can move into it and go out on the other side.
*Sometimes when you kill an enemy the final frame of the explosion stays there.
*If you time it right, you can make Stinkoman laugh in midair after you defeat a boss by pressing A.
**This also works at the end of most levels with a flag.
**This glitch will start you out with no health, meaning if you get hit you get another GAME OVER (unless you repeat the glitch).
**It ALSO has "check points" where it will usually restart you in the exact same place you were in before you died. The only bad thing is that sometimes if there is a lower area the screen will not scroll down when you go down. Also, it will sometimes prevent you from going off the left of the screen.
**You CAN peform this glitch at any time, but it is most helpful at a GAME OVER.
*If you're using a Flash seek bar with "Next Frame", when the title screen appears, you can repeatedly click "Next Frame" and flip through some menus until you reach "Level Undefined.Undefined". It's an empty level without any ground. Also, your starting life number will either be "NaN" or "Undefined".
*Standing on a moving platform that goes through a wall will cause you to go through the wall as well. Although there are no instances of this in the official game, you can experience this glitch with a custom level.

Bugs Concerning Flash
* Sometimes you can start up a new game and it will be nothing but Stinkoman and the background. Since there's no ground, you can only fall and die. This may be linked to older versions of Flash.
** A possible reason that this happens is because earlier versions of Flash may not be able to read the levelData xml files.
*When played on Linux Flash Player, this game has some incompatibilities.

Level 1
Part 1
*In level 1.1, if you don't kill the Jaro by the first wall and instead just go past it and the wall under the second Browntant, the Jaro may be jumping in mid-air.
**It can even jump through the wall.
*Near the start, when you have to get to the bottom of the first wall (with the browntant),if you fall right against the wall and land on the platform that's on the other side, you'll seem to be floating in midair.
*near the end of the lavel at the top of the so called "pyramid" you are able to stand on air above the left bush.

Boss
*Losing a life in 1.3 or 2.3 will result in Stinkoman returning to the level without ground, causing him to fall to his death.
**This is because there is no real level 1.3 or 2.3 &ndash; the battles happen at the end of 1.2 or 2.2. When you get to the end of the level the boss appears. When you die, it unloads the level as always, but when you keep try, it doesn't reload it &ndash; it expects it to still be there, as it is when you just finished the .2 level. Result: no ground.

Level 2
Part 2
*In the beginning of levels 2.1 and 2.2, there are Terrells on a burner and just behind a stove, respectively. It's possible for the Terrells to get "stuck" in midair. It will continue to hop up and down on the air(without moving horizontally at all), and Stinkoman can pass through the Terrell without becoming injured. It also becomes impossible to kill.

Boss
*Sometimes, when you shoot Brody's eye, he will keep his head down, enabling you to shoot him again. This is possibly caused because you shoot his eye while his head is going back to the top of the screen, although this has never been truly proven.
*As in level 1.3, if you die when fighting Brody, when you restart the ground is no longer there and you fall until game over.

Level 3
Part 1
*At the release of v7 (Level 9), the Clowders' propellers mysteriously disappeared.
Part 2
*There have been occasional sightings in level 3.2 of a Mr.Ubbers from level 3.1.

Level 4
*When you block a lava fall while holding S, the lava fall will go back for a split second, killing 1-Up if he is under there.
*No matter how far you stick the giant fist into the lava fall, it is as if the whole fist is under it.
*If you press 'S' repeatedly, faster than the pounding animation can go, after you're done pressing S, Stinkoman will continue to pound until he has pounded as many times as you've pressed S, which can sometimes get very annoying when you need to move on.
*If a and s are pressed at the same time as you're falling into the level from the left, Stinkoman will float instead of walk.
*If you walk underneath a lavaflow so the giant fist is above your head, turn around, then quickly tap s, the fist will sometimes not move, but you will hear the fist pound the ground and see the rocks fall anyway.
*If you die by a Poorbt or by falling in the lava, 1-Up keeps walking. If he hits an enemy or a lava-fall before the level restarts, he will die too, and you'll lose 2 lives. This can cause you to get -1 lives
*If 1-Up hits a lava flow while a Poorbt is shooting at you, the Poorbt's shot just goes past you.
*When Stinkoman crushes a Poorbt with his fist, the Poorbt dies, but the fist doesn't move.

Part 2
*If you approach a Pink Cham Cham from the left and see only the left side of it as it fires, when you approach toward the right to see the rest of it, it will only have fired the laser on the left side.
**This may also happen in level -0.1 or -0.2.

Level 5
*If you die at the beginning of 5.1 or 5.2 before the ship at the top flies by, it will fly by on the Keep Try screen.
Part 1
*A Jaro on one of the conveyor belts on level 5.1 can go behind the wall.

Level 6
Part 2
*After the second Protek, on the bottom level, you go on a series of moving white solid clouds. After killing a Jaro, you have to time yourself to fall through an evaporating cloud to land on another white solid. If you're on the evaporating cloud, and you move to the left, you'll be stuck falling in place on the wall. You can't jump, only move left and right and fire.
**You can also fall to the left of the wall and die, if you move far enough.

Level 7
*In Level 7.1 or 7.2, you will not freeze if you:
**Stay on a ladder.
**Hold the up or down button.
**Don't move at all after freezing once.
Part 1
*In Level 7.1, in around the middle of the level, you can get caught between a wall and an ice platform. Shooting, running and jumping cannot move you; yet jumping toward either side will cause Stinkoman will keep flipping for as long as you hold the arrow keys.
*In Level 7.1 around the middle Stinkoman can stand in the air.

Level -0
Part 2
*If you get through the first part of the stove maze on level -0.2 (solution image here) and try to jump over the next opening, but just miss the other solid stove, you'll usually get stuck falling in place until you move back a bit.
*Sometimes, when you go to the far right opening in the stove maze (That has the hidden capsule) you can jump, hold right, and eventually slide down to the exit and you can run out.

Boss
*Sometimes while fighting Ekersby if you jump and hold the "a" key down, the screen will freeze until you release the "a" key.

Level 9
*When the character dies just as the shield effect wears off (the shield sprite is just beginning to disappear) the sprite will be visible on the Keep Try! screen.
*Sometimes, during level 9, super-speed will not stop until either the end of the next super-speed zone, or until the end of the level. This glitch allows the group of lives and pills at the end of 9.1 to become accessible, and can allow for a speedy exiting of 9.2. The triggers for this glitch have not yet been identified.
<!-- don't say that the shots move slowly when you hit a speedy area - this is intentional, and physically correct -->

Fixed Glitches
*When the game was first released, you could skip (press space or click) the first part of the final movie (any part before the MORE LEVELS TO COME SCENE) to enter stage 3.4. It was the Stlunko arena without Stlunko: a slightly elevated platform above the ground with two Pooru-Poorus on either side. You could continue traveling rightwards into a barren land before reaching an endless cliff.
**This again happened in level 4 when it was first released. However, this glitch has been fixed as well.
***Also, if you died once on level 4.4 there would be no ground when you returned.
**This hasn't happened on any other version since, with a minor exception (beneath).

*When version 6 was first released, Level -0 always appeared in the top slot in the CONTINUTE menu even if you scrolled through the levels. This was fixed later in the day.
*On the day of version 7's release, beating Ekersby would take you to level -0.4 (a completely blank screen, where Stinkoman constantly falls to his death), instead of 9.1 as would be expected. This was fixed later in the day.
SEÑOR: Oh, no, boy. I havin' a little trouble!

SEÑOR: I still alive!
{Cut to Strong Bad and The Cheat, with Pom Pom in the background.}

STRONG BAD: Hey, The Cheat&mdash;

THE CHEAT: {The Cheat noises}

STRONG BAD: &mdash;I hear our friend The Robot is about to do a set of his acoustic numbers. Or should I say, unplugged?

THE CHEAT: {affirmative The Cheat noises, salutes}

{The Cheat slides to the feet of The Robot, who is apparently plugged into an outlet on a very small section of wall out of nowhere.}

THE CHEAT: {The Cheat noises} {looks around, unplugs The Robot's cord, and slides away} {The Cheat noises}

{Cut to The Robot, who shuts down and drops the pile of grapes. General sad "Aw"s among the crowd are heard as the eyes of The Robot disappear slowly.}

{Cut to Homestar, whose grapes appear to be floating in mid-air, due to his lack of visible arms.}

HOMESTAR RUNNER: {looks around} Did nobody just see that?! Judge? Fairie? Giant bee?

{Cut to The Grape Fairie and The Announcer, who are admiring the bowl and not paying attention to the contest.}

THE GRAPE FAIRIE: Honest to God, Mookie Wilson gave me the golbol in my hands in 1974.

THE ANNOUNCER: Really quite an impressive bowl.

HOMESTAR RUNNER: {off screen} Hellooo?

THE GRAPE FAIRIE: Oh. Right.

{Cut to Pom Pom, Strong Bad, and Homestar.}

THE GRAPE FAIRIE: {poofs another grape on top of everyone} Crazy eights!

{Strong Bad begins to lose his grip on the grapes.}

STRONG BAD: The Cheat? Big help here! Big help!

THE CHEAT: {rushes over} {The Cheat noises}

STRONG BAD: Okay.... Even it out there on the south side.

THE CHEAT: {The Cheat noises}

STRONG BAD: Jump her up.

{Cut to Homestar.}

HOMESTAR RUNNER: All right, seriously. At first it was cute, but this is just borderline unsportsmanlike! Let me outline my master plan. I will (a) drop my grapes, and (b) uncover that cheat! {drops his grapes; walks over to Strong Bad and The Cheat} Could I just borrow this a second? {grabs The Cheat}

THE CHEAT: {surprised The Cheat noises}

{Homestar kicks The Cheat about his feet like a hackey-sack, then does a slow-motion flip and bicycle kicks The Cheat off screen.}

STRONG BAD: {melodramatically} Oh-nooo! {gets squished by his pile of grapes}

{The action-pose scene appears, this time with a green grapes background, "squished bad", and Strong Bad under his pile of grapes.}

{Cut to Pom Pom}

THE ANNOUNCER: {voiceover} Pom Pom wins!

{Pom Pom winks; a record scratch sounds, cut to Homestar}

HOMESTAR RUNNER: Wait, what?

STRONG BAD: Ooh.... These grapes are succulently crushing my windpipe.... Ooh, but they're seedless! {The pile of grapes begins to collapse as Strong Bad eats it}

{Cut to Homestar and Pom Pom holding the trophy.}

HOMESTAR RUNNER: All right, seriously, Pom Pom. Gimme the golbol!

POM POM: {bubble noises, pulls the trophy back a bit}

HOMESTAR RUNNER: Yeah, that's great. But I still won. I sportsmanliked everybody! Now gimme the golbol!

POM POM: {bubble noises}

HOMESTAR RUNNER: All right, fine. You can give it to me for my birthday. Now check out my victory dance! Huhyayayayaaa!

{Homestar crosses his left leg over his right and jumps into the air. The Grape Fairie and the Fat Bee enter from the upper right, the announcer from the lower left. Pom Pom jumps in the air holding the trophy. The scene fades into the last page of the Original Book with "1996-2006" written across the upper left.}
Easter Eggs
*Clicking on the Contest sign when Homestar mentions getting Strong Bad's autograph will show a picture of said autograph, on which is written:
<blockquote>homestar,<br />
dare to dream! believe in yourself<br />
and you can achieve anything!!<br />
your pal<br />
Strond Ba...<br />
wait a sec,<br />
2nd try:<br />
homestar,<br />
you're<br />
a butt.<br />
Strong<br />
Bad</blockquote>

*Clicking the trophy at the end shows a shot of it (captioned "GOLBOL") in the same style as the ones shown when Mr. Bland, The Robot, and Señor are introduced. The New York Mets logo is shown in the background.

Fun Facts
Explanations
*"Unplugged" is a term popularized by MTV Unplugged and is used to refer to acoustic music.

Trivia
*The main page message for this toon read "10 years!".
*This toon is the first time The Grape Fairie, Mr. Bland, and Señor are given a voice.
*Despite its attempt, this toon's page title is not the longest one of the website. Shopping for Danger's page title "Blue Las-alert, Kids! Cheat Commandos will be right back after these messages!" surpasses it by five characters. They are, however, both 19 syllables long.
*Although they were both voiced by Matt Chapman, The Grape Fairie and Homestar both sound similar, albeit the Grape Fairie sounding like a tougher, meaner, gruff-voiced Homestar.

Remarks
*When The Grape Fairie's mouth disappears when he isn't talking, his five o'clock shadow disappears with it.
*When Homestar holds up the grapes, they float as if he's controlling them with his mind rather than with invisible arms.
**Homestar's invisible arms are also emphasized in the high-five scene.
*Señor may also defy physics. He holds the pile on one side with the other half of the pile mysteriously floating in mid-air. This was also true in the original book.
*The Grape Fairie said that Mookie Wilson gave him the trophy in 1974, but Wilson would have been 18 at the time. He was not drafted by the Mets until 1977.
*Señor's introduction background of beans may be a nod to the stereotype that Hispanics eat a lot of beans.

Goofs
*When Mr. Bland, The Robot and Señor are introduced, the smaller spotlights cross over their feet, yet none of the characters' feet light up.
* In the silhouette scene following Mr. Bland's loss, the grapes are actually floating above Pom Pom.
*in the original story senor held up the grapes with his left hand but in this toon he held them with his right hand

Inside References
*When Señor gets squished, the onomatopoeia used is "Sblounskched!".
*The song during the training scene is "Showdown" from montage, except with vocals by someone who sounds like Larry Palaroncini.
*The outfit Homestar wears during the training scene originally appeared in lady fan.
*The autographed picture of Strong Bad in the Easter egg is the same as the one that Strong Bad gives to his "main man" Van Mundegaarde in 2 years.
*Homestar is shown Kicking The Cheat, albeit in a more elaborate fashion than in the original book.
*Señor's line "I still alive!" may be a reference to Strumstar Hammer, in which this scene is captioned with the line "this blue guy died."
*Homestar's first speaking line is an example of an Integral Article
*"Strond Ba..." is a reference to lunch special, in which Strong Mad sends his brother an e-mail riddled with misspellings, one of which is "Strond bad".
**Strong Bad also mentions the phrase "Strong Ba..." in the email virus.
*"You're a butt" is possibly a reference to '97, where Strong Bad told Strong Sad the same thing.

Real-World References
*Mookie Wilson is a former Major League Baseball outfielder who played with the New York Mets from 1980 to 1989. The Mets' logo is shown in the background of the Easter egg.
*The statement in Strong Bad's autograph "believe in yourself and you can achieve anything" is from Rocky.
<!-- Homestar's kicking of The Cheat is too generic to be pinned on any one source. It's simply a bicycle kick. -->
HOMESTAR RUNNER: {looks around} Did nobody just see that?! Judge? Fairie? Giant bee?

{Cut to The Grape Fairie and The Announcer, who are admiring the bowl and not paying attention to the contest.}

THE GRAPE FAIRIE: Honest to God, Mookie Wilson gave me the golbol in my hands in 1974.

THE ANNOUNCER: Really quite an impressive bowl.

HOMESTAR RUNNER: {off screen} Hellooo?

{Cut to Pom Pom, Strong Bad, and Homestar.}

THE GRAPE FAIRIE: {poofs another grape on top of everyone} Crazy eights!

{Strong Bad begins to lose his grip on the grapes.}

STRONG BAD: The Cheat? Big help here! Big help!

THE CHEAT: {rushes over} {The Cheat noises}

STRONG BAD: Okay.... Even it out there on the south side.

THE CHEAT: {The Cheat noises}

STRONG BAD: Jump her up.

{Cut to Homestar.}

HOMESTAR RUNNER: All right, seriously. At first it was cute, but this is just borderline unsportsmanlike! Let me outline my master plan. I will (a) drop my grapes, and (b) uncover that cheat! {drops his grapes; walks over to Strong Bad and The Cheat} Could I just borrow this a second? {grabs The Cheat}

THE CHEAT: {surprised The Cheat noises}

{Homestar kicks The Cheat about his feet like a hackey-sack, then does a slow-motion flip and bicycle kicks The Cheat off screen.}

STRONG BAD: {melodramatically} Oh-nooo! {gets squished by his pile of grapes}

{The action-pose scene appears, this time with a green grapes background, "squished bad", and Strong Bad under his pile of grapes.}

{Cut to Pom Pom}

THE ANNOUNCER: {voiceover} Pom Pom wins!

{Pom Pom winks; a record scratch sounds, cut to Homestar}

HOMESTAR RUNNER: Wait, what?

STRONG BAD: Ooh.... These grapes are succulently crushing my windpipe.... Ooh, but they're seedless! {The pile of grapes begins to collapse as Strong Bad eats it}

{Cut to Homestar and Pom Pom holding the trophy.}

HOMESTAR RUNNER: All right, seriously, Pom Pom. Gimme the golbol!

POM POM: {bubble noises, pulls the trophy back a bit}

HOMESTAR RUNNER: Yeah, that's great. But I still won. I sportsmanliked everybody! Now gimme the golbol!

POM POM: {bubble noises}

HOMESTAR RUNNER: All right, fine. You can give it to me for my birthday. Now check out my victory dance! Huhyayayayaaa!

{Homestar crosses his left leg over his right and jumps into the air. The Grape Fairie and the Fat Bee enter from the upper right, the announcer from the lower left. Pom Pom jumps in the air holding the trophy. The scene fades into the last page of the Original Book with "1996-2006" written across the upper left.}
*Clicking on the Contest sign when Homestar mentions getting Strong Bad's autograph will show a picture of said autograph, on which is written:
<blockquote>homestar,<br />
dare to dream! believe in yourself<br />
and you can achieve anything!!<br />
your pal<br />
Strond Ba...<br />
wait a sec,<br />
2nd try:<br />
you're<br />
a butt.<br />

*in the origanal book senor held up the grapes with his left hand but in this toon he held them with his right hand
