Yolala: This kinda reminds me of...

==Pom Pom segment==
Anyone want to bet how long it'll take before someone claims this is a Naruto reference? [[User:Danny Lilithborne|Danny Lilithborne]] 07:41, 25 July 2006 (UTC)
:You mean like [http://www.hrwiki.org/index.php?title=Summer_Short_Shorts&diff=348440&oldid=348439 here?] --[[User:DorianGray|DorianGray]]
::D'oh! [[User:Danny Lilithborne|Danny Lilithborne]] 07:44, 25 July 2006 (UTC)
:::Yeah, I was a bit fast on that one. But somehow you've just proven that it's obviously Naruto :-P {{User:Loafing/sig}} 08:44, 25 July 2006 (UTC)
::::Did any of you notice that part of this segment contradicts the "Strong Bad is in jail catoon"? In the begining of said cartoon, Strong Bad and The Cheat run up to Bub's Concession Stand which is shown right next to the woods. But when Pom Pom does that huge jump in this segment, it appears that Strong Badia is located between the woods and the Concession Stand. Weird o_0. [[User:Scholar of Homestar|Scholar of Homestar]] 15:17, 25 July 2006 (UTC)
::::Obviously Naruto, or Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, or House of Flying Daggers, or any other film where people fly through the trees. Actually I'm inclined to say it's more of a reference to live action martial arts because of way Pom Pom hovers above the ground before seems to parody the effect of using counterweight harnesses to give the effect of actors jumping incredibly high. I've never seen any of the ninjas on Naruto do that. [[User:PolarBoy|PolarBoy]] 16:22, 25 July 2006 (UTC)
:::::Actually, it's a reference to Prowlies at the River: http://www.biteycastle.com/prowlies.html
::::::Or it could be any movie/cartoon with lots of jumping through a forrest. as stated above.
Actually-actually ;), I thought people would think it was a Naruto reference because of the backgrounds. Although those backgrounds don't feature in the Naruto show in and of itself, it does feature in Cartoon Network's ads for Naruto, and add that with the ninja references and you'll see how people could get the idea. Without those backgrounds, it's just generic anime martial arts stuff. [[User:Danny Lilithborne|Danny Lilithborne]] 00:42, 26 July 2006 (UTC)
:*I thought the hovering was just because Pom Pom's a floatyman, like in the Yello Dello. I'm glad to see him get some screen time, though![[User:Trelawney|Trelawney]]

== First forest ==

Is it worth mentioning that this is the first instance of a forest in the standard animation style? [[User:216.232.210.238|216.232.210.238]] 08:07, 25 July 2006 (UTC)
:Sure. I mean, that could be the creepy halloween forest during summer, but still...--[[User:Jnelson09|Jnelson09]] 14:09, 25 July 2006 (UTC)

== pi=pie? ==
Does anyone else think the Pi reference in this and weclome back could tie in with the pie running joke?

:I think you got it [http://clampettstudio.com/images/archives/wb/WB1026-PiE.jpg confused]. {{User:E.L. Cool/sig}} 08:17, 25 July 2006 (UTC)
== Eggselent ==

I don't believe that Homestar says "Eggs, can I get you gentlemen..." I think he says the more logical "And". Thoughts? --{{User:Jay/sig}} 08:27, 25 July 2006 (UTC)

[[Image:LaBrea.PNG|thumb|Seek bars not spake here.]]
Lapper removed the Transcript edit about Cave Strong Bad's feet poking out from under the tar pit. He said it only comes up when you use a Seek Bar. I present to you: exhibit A. --{{User:Jay/sig}} 08:48, 25 July 2006 (UTC)
:I removed it because I checked on that a few hours ago and thought it was only the seek bar. But I did a very sloppy check. You were absolutely right. (btw, I'm not Lapper) {{User:Loafing/sig}} 08:51, 25 July 2006 (UTC)
::Sorry. Guess you're not the only one who did a sloppy check. Happens to the best of us. And me, too. --{{User:Jay/sig}} 08:56, 25 July 2006 (UTC)
== Excuse Me While I Kiss This Guy ==

I think the lyrics for "Brain Sister" are wrong (The trancscriber didn't seem too confident anyway). The line "She's a {mile?} away" sounds like it ends "all day" to me, not "away". Obviously "She's a mile all day" makes no sense at all, So I'm pretty sure that whole line is wrong. Can anybody make it out? [[User:PolarBoy|PolarBoy]] 16:26, 25 July 2006 (UTC)
:And I don't seem able to manage any more than "She {three syllables} all day". I'm giving up for now. [[User:PolarBoy|PolarBoy]] 16:35, 25 July 2006 (UTC)
:I can't quite make it out, but to me it sounds more like "a low-res beauty queen" rather than a "lonely". [[User:67.42.210.44|67.42.210.44]] 20:49, 25 July 2006 (UTC)
I think it's something like "{something} texas all day". [[User:Elvis|Elvis]] 20:55, 25 July 2006 (UTC)
:I heard "low-res" the first two times, until I read the transcript. It's kinda mushy though, with the background music, so it's hard to tell.[[User:Trelawney|Trelawney]]
::I hear "lonely", and "away"... I put in the "She's a {mile?} away" bit, after trying, without much success, to dampen the guitar and such in Audacity... it sounds kinda (to me) like "She's a [[Wikipedia:-izzle|mizz-ile]] away", but I didn't think that fitted with the Limozeen genre... hence the braces and the question mark. {{User:Phlip/sig}} 08:04, 26 July 2006 (UTC)

== Fries and Catsup ==

Arn't they the same as from the e-mail [[funny]], from the "Computer Catsup" scene?
:Yes, unless you count "computer Catsup" as different. {{User:Steve/sig}} 17:33, 25 July 2006 (UTC)

== Captain Caveman ==

It's not nearly close enough for me to try to suggest that this was intentional, but the spots on Marzipan's cavewoman outfit remind me of the spots on [[Wikipedia:Captain Caveman and the Teen Angels|Captain Caveman]]'s cape. &mdash; [[User:It's dot com|It's dot com]] 23:54, 25 July 2006 (UTC)

:From looking at [[Wikipedia:Image:Caveman.jpg|that picture]] i see that the cape was orange and the spots were circular. Marzipan is wearing brown and the spots are oddly shaped. Sorry to crush your hopes and dreams, {{User:E.L. Cool/sig}} 23:58, 25 July 2006 (UTC)
:(Edit clonflict) Much unlike the spots on [[Wikipedia:Fred Flintstone|Fred Flintstone's]] fashionable outfit of course ;-) I think it's just a caveman cliche.{{User:Loafing/sig}} 00:00, 26 July 2006 (UTC)

== Winger ==

I would like just to add that the Limozeen song might also be a reference to the Winger song, "seventeen".
Sincerely, Very Anonymous
:Is there any other reason than the title? There are many [[IMDB:seventeen|movies]] having "seventeen" in the title, and I'm sure there are even more songs. [[Wikipedia:Seventeen (song)|Here]] are some, and [[Wikipedia:Sixteen Going On Seventeen|here]] is one more. What makes the Winger song stand out?{{User:Loafing/sig}}

:I have 2 reasons
*1. It says "She's only seventeen"
*2. Winger is a metal band as well, as opposed to the Beatles.
:Sincerely, Anonymous
::I'm still not quite convinced. Actually, after looking at the Limozeen lyrics again, I'm no longer sure the Beatles reference is very obvious. {{User:Loafing/sig}} 07:42, 26 July 2006 (UTC)

==Some 'splainin' to do?==
Is the Explanation "The Limozeen sequence simulates a laser show" even remotely necessary? What could it possibly be mistaken for? It's like saying "The sequence with Strong Bad, Strong Mad, and The Cheat simulates eating in a restaurant." -- [[User:69.168.10.233|69.168.10.233]] 02:31, 26 July 2006 (UTC)

: Not necessarily. Some people might not realize it's supposed to be a laser light show, and miss the laser light that is drawing the images behind it. They might think it's a weird art style. *shrug* --[[User:Bleed0range|Omega_Man]] 02:52, 26 July 2006 (UTC)
::It's there mostly to hang the [[Wikipedia:Laser lighting display|link to Wikipedia]], so that, as Omega_Man mentioned, people who don't know what a laser show is can find out. {{User:Phlip/sig}} 13:55, 26 July 2006 (UTC)
:::I didn't know it was a laser show because I'd never heard that term before. It's useful enough. -[[User:Brightstar Shiner|Brightstar Shiner]] 15:36, 26 July 2006 (UTC)
::When originally transcribed, I wrote "budeling" (pronounce as "boo-deh-ling"). Next day I come back, and it's changed, and I'm wondering why... I think it's just nonsense anyway... But I think it has too many syllables to just be "bliiiing". --[[User:DorianGray|DorianGray]]

==            ? ==
The new quote of the week features a quote from Cheerleader about jiggy jugguhs, and one this page it says her head was used for this quote, but when I watch the quote, I see Homestar's head on my screen. {{User:Salty/sig}} 22:55, 19 January 2006 (UTC)
:That happens sometimes. There's an explanation on the [[Quote of the Week]] page. --[[User:DorianGray|DorianGray]]

== New Page ==

Admins, are these ok to be served locally from the HR site? I'm guessing yes, but I want your blessing! :) --[[User:Stux|Stux]] 01:44, 2 Oct 2005 (UTC)
:Oh, and here's a "Whatever", cuz I had to add it! ;) --[[User:Stux|Stux]] 01:45, 2 Oct 2005 (UTC)
::No. They only can be served from the Wiki. {{User:Gafaddict/sig}} 01:56, 2 Oct 2005 (UTC)
:::Oops! By HR site I meant the wiki! :) [[Stux]]

Does the gallery feature allow for subtitles? I liked the ability to click on each character's name to get to their page. --[[User:Stux|Stux]] 02:27, 2 Oct 2005 (UTC)

:You mean a link? Here: <nowiki>[[Link Text|Page]]</nowiki><br>If the Link Text and page are the same, omit "Link Text" and the "|".{{User:Gafaddict/sig}} 16:39, 7 Oct 2005 (UTC)

::Oh, this is an older post. At the time, the gallery op had been just applied and the page had no names or links under the pictures (like it does now), so I wanted to know if it could be done. Thank you though for your help and response. :) --[[User:Stux|Stux]] 19:29, 7 Oct 2005 (UTC)

== I had an idea ==
Back when it was a graph, I had an idea. Why don't we include the dates of when each head was used? - {{User:Joshua/sig}}

:Good idea! I was thinking to also include the last quote that they had and a link to it, but maybe that is 'overkill'. --{{User:Smileyface11945/sig}} 02:27, 2 Oct 2005 (UTC)

::Dates by themselves should work. - {{User:Joshua/sig}}

:::That's really not necessary, because that's noted on the Quote of the Week page. &mdash; [[User:It's dot com|It's dot com]] 02:32, 2 Oct 2005 (UTC)
::::But we love organizing stuff [[Strong Bad Email#Additional Information|many different ways]]. Eh, I don't really care so much. - {{User:Joshua/sig}} 02:33, 2 Oct 2005 (UTC)

== Background ==

The backround of that gallery is slightly different than white. Can someone fix that (I don't know how)? The picture backrounds are white, not transparent. --{{User:Smileyface11945/sig}} 02:26, 2 Oct 2005 (UTC)
:I don't know whether that's changeable. We may just have to live with that. &mdash; [[User:It's dot com|It's dot com]] 02:32, 2 Oct 2005 (UTC)

:I agree, although I wish u could change it. SM looks kinda freaky. {{User:Bubsty/sig}}

::I've been trying, but so far no luck. See [[MetaWikipedia:Help:Images_and_other_uploaded_files#Gallery_tag.2C_category.2C_table_of_images|this page]] for info. &mdash; [[User:It's dot com|It's dot com]] 02:36, 2 Oct 2005 (UTC)

::If we change it back to a table, there would be a way to make it look like a gallery ''and'' get the backrounds white. Also, it would make it look --[[User:Stux|Stux]] 03:04, 2 Oct 2005 (UTC)like the QOW page. --{{User:Smileyface11945/sig}}

:::Meh, I think that would be only a marginal improvement, especially considering how convenient the gallery is. &mdash; [[User:It's dot com|It's dot com]] 02:46, 2 Oct 2005 (UTC)

::Apparently According to [[Wikipedia:Wikipedia:Gallery]], the only facilities it provides is referencing the links and adding optional text. --[[User:Stux|Stux]] 02:45, 2 Oct 2005 (UTC)
::::Options: we can use the Wiki tables format (haven't learned that one quite well yet), or we can use the hard-coded gallery output and change the color like this:
::::'''<nowiki><table class="gallery" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0"><tr><td>
<div class="gallerybox"><div class="     "  tyle="padding: 26px 0;"></nowiki> '''

::::and then modify the color settings (ugh somehow, -- i'm still not that familiar with CSS)
::::We could also photoshop all of the backgrounds. (forgot to sign) --[[User:Stux|Stux]] 02:51, 2 Oct 2005 (UTC)

:::::I fixed Strong Mad (hard-refresh to see it). Does it look good? Do the rest need to be fixed? &mdash; [[User:It's dot com|It's dot com]] 02:56, 2 Oct 2005 (UTC)
::::::I like!... It definitely looks good! And it would be nice to see them all fit the same pattern (are you keeping the original white versions? I'm a perfectionist at heart. Somewhere.) Keep in mind these aren't ''exactly'' the original pictures extracted but no one really can tell 'except us in the trenches. So the white versions would be great (I know Smiley liked that), but I personally am happy with gray. --[[User:Stux|Stux]] 03:04, 2 Oct 2005 (UTC)
::::::It definitely looks better, but I'm not sure if it'll be worth all the effort. - {{User:Joshua/sig}} 02:59, 2 Oct 2005 (UTC)
:::::::I can do the graying stuff here, I just have never uploaded pictures. --[[User:Stux|Stux]] 03:04, 2 Oct 2005 (UTC)

::::::::Yeah, if you want to go to the trouble to make the page look better than it already does (which I think is pretty good), then be my guest, but I think my input is done, at least for this weekend. By the way, click "upload file" on the left and follow the instructions. &mdash; [[User:It's dot com|It's dot com]] 03:07, 2 Oct 2005 (UTC)

:::::::::Done! Whew! Have a good night all! --[[User:Stux|Stux]] 03:45, 2 Oct 2005 (UTC)
::::::::::I left a lengthy note on your talk page, Stux, but I'll say it again here: Good jorb! &mdash; [[User:It's dot com|It's dot com]] 03:48, 2 Oct 2005 (UTC)
:::::::::::Thanks for the awesome and kind note! Man it's Sunday already! Your entry was the first for Oct 2nd (Congraturations?)! And my clock is accurate too? Wow. Strange night. ;) --[[User:Stux|Stux]] 04:02, 2 Oct 2005 (UTC)
== If No One minds... ==

If no one minds, I'm going to go ahead and add the dates last used to the page. {{User:Smileyface11945/sig}} 15:05, 2 Oct 2005 (UTC)

Actually, I think I'll wait until someone posts either a go-ahead or a no-go before doing that. {{User:Smileyface11945/sig}} 15:15, 2 Oct 2005 (UTC)

:How about a "Where and how do you intend to place the dates?". I love politics. (Not really, but they give you such powerful tools of nonsaying.) --[[User:Stux|Stux]] 15:28, 2 Oct 2005 (UTC)

::The page would look like this page does: [[User:Smileyface11945/Quote of the Week Character Heads]], plus the category. {{User:Smileyface11945/sig}} 15:54, 2 Oct 2005 (UTC)

::Would that be ok? Or not ok?
:::Personally, I don't mind at all! It looks good! If no one else objects, I'd say go for it! You'd want to include a note saying that the date listed is the last date the head was used. --[[User:Stux|Stux]] 23:59, 2 Oct 2005 (UTC)
::::I like it!  Go for it!--{{User:bkmlb/sig}} 00:00, 3 Oct 2005 (UTC)
:::::I think it's a great idea too. I particularly like the 'unused' bits, letting us know who may have quotes in the future. Just be sure to update it every now and then. --[[User:DorianGray|DorianGray]]

== Dates ==

<!-- This is a transcript of the conversation at User talk:Smileyface11945/Quote of the Week Character Heads. -->How is that for the dates idea? I was also thinking of adding a list of characters whose quotes have been used but don't have pictures. Sound grood? {{User:Smileyface11945/sig}} 14:42, 2 Oct 2005 (UTC)
:How is that going to look with characters with multiple quotes? {{User:Camalex/sig}} 00:06, 3 Oct 2005 (UTC)
::I believe it's just going to show their most recent quote's date, and be updated as needed. --[[User:DorianGray|DorianGray]]
:::That was what I had in mind. {{User:Smileyface11945/sig}} 00:08, 3 Oct 2005 (UTC)
:::If that's the case, then I think it should say like: last used:(whatever date)--{{User:bkmlb/sig}} 00:10, 3 Oct 2005 (UTC)
::::Okay, I'll see if i can work that in there. I moved this conversation to [[Talk:Quote of the Week Character Heads]]. {{User:Smileyface11945/sig}} 00:18, 3 Oct 2005 (UTC)
::::I see you saw my move. Cool. I'll work in that 'last used'. {{User:Smileyface11945/sig}} 00:18, 3 Oct 2005 (UTC)
::That's good, but some of the longer ones are on three lines. Specifically: Blue Laser Commander. Maybe we can abbreviate? {{User:Smileyface11945/sig}} 00:23, 3 Oct 2005 (UTC)
:::Looks great! --[[User:Stux|Stux]] 00:30, 3 Oct 2005 (UTC)
::::I made the dates more international friendly. &mdash; [[User:It's dot com|It's dot com]] 06:31, 6 Oct 2005 (UTC)

How come many heads that have been used are marked "Unused"? [[User:Alcnolien|Alcnolien]] 01:54, 9 November 2005 (UTC)
:Because their quotes came before they started using the characters heads in the Quote of the Week. --[[User:DorianGray|DorianGray]]

== Horrible Painting ==

Sorry to be a bother, but are we going to add that Horrible Painting or whatever head? --[[User:Color Printer|Color]] [[User talk:Color Printer|Printer]] 20:43, 6 Oct 2005 (UTC)
:I'm sure we are, eventually. What ''I'd'' like to know is what the 'rocoulm' in the source code means in relation to the Horrible Painting.
:On a side note, I was planning to use the Horrible Painting as ''my'' personal QotW next week. Guess they beat me to the punch, eh? --[[User:DorianGray|DorianGray]]
:Eh, I added it about an hour ago. Knock ya'selves out. {{User:Tom Epsilon/sig}}22:29, 6 Oct 2005 (UTC)

== Place? ==

Shouldn't "When using a character head that hasn't been added yet, Homestar's head is used until the appropriate character's head is uploaded. This has happened with the Geddup Noise's and Horrible Painting's quotes." be on this page instead of the [[Quote of the Week|QotW]] page?
{{User:Smileyface11945/sig}} 14:49, 26 October 2005 (UTC)

== QoW chronology ==

I have two related questions:
#When did the QoW start using character heads?
#Wasn't the QoW character heads format just homestar's head used regardless of who was saying stuff, if so, when did they start using *different* character heads for their QoW to show the correct head for a quote?
These facts are unclear from reading this page and the main [[Quote of the Week|QoW page]]. I think we should keep up with it's chronology. So if anyone knows/can remember that would be great! --[[User:Stux|Stux]] 15:17, 11 November 2005 (UTC)
:Hi guys, I'd just like to bring attention to the questions I posted some time ago. --[[User:Stux|Stux]] 17:06, 25 November 2005 (UTC)
::I have [[Talk:Quote_of_the_Week#QoW_Chronology|posted]] the same question in the QoW page as well. --[[User:Stux|Stux]] 16:41, 27 November 2005 (UTC)
:::I have absolutely no idea. {{User:Bubsty/xmasig}} 01:18, 28 November 2005 (UTC)

== External Links ==
Hey, do you think we could get external links with links to each head's location on the site? - {{User:Joshua/sig}} 14:34, 2 December 2005 (UTC)
:I doubt it. The heads were actually decompiled from the flash. I beleive they still remain embedded in the flash file itself. --[[User:Stux|Stux]] 15:26, 2 December 2005 (UTC)

== Say... ==

How do you guys know the unused heads?
:They all exist in the XML file. So we just looked at that, and took it apart to find them. --[[User:DorianGray|DorianGray]]
