One in 500 The Cheats
Hey there, Zbelac123. I was wanting to verify which of the 500 The Cheats was the one that matches the ghosted The Cheat. Can you be more specific, like the frame number perhaps? Thanks one million. &mdash; It's dot com 00:10, 6 August 2009 (UTC)
Im not sure. I just watched it frame by frame, without a frame counter or anything. If someone else could find one with a frame counter and comfirm which one it was, I would be greatful. Zbelac123 00:28, 6 August 2009 (UTC)

Zbelac123: Untrue, one of them PERFECTLY match it. I watched it frame by frame.

Lots and lots of The Cheat...
Date: Monday, February 13, 2006

Page title: A-Lotsa the Cheatsa!

Everything Else, Volume 3

Transcript
{While music plays with The Cheat's mumblings serving as the only lyrics, various drawings of The Cheat flash in a box in the middle of the screen. Lots of smaller The Cheat drawings are seen in the background. The Cheats in the background eventually turn around and upside-down in time to the music. Then the background flashes several colors, and the box with the main The Cheat drawings bounces and moves around the screen in time to the music. It finally returns to the center as the song ends with "done." written in it, and the background completely black. "back" and "do'gain?" appear below.}

Easter Eggs
*Click on the rapidly changing drawing to see a ghosted image of The Cheat appear over them.

Fun Facts
Trivia
*There are 536 frames altogether; however, 36 of these frames are the beginning "loading" screen and the "done" screen at the end. Each frame that isn't a "loading" or a "done" screen contains one The Cheat; therefore, there are exactly 500 The Cheats.
*There are 407 The Cheats in the background, including ones partially covered by the border or occasionally obscured by the center box.
**Including the The Cheats visible off to the sides of the screen (when viewing the Flash file), the total number of The Cheats is equal to 480, bringing the total number of visible The Cheats in the flash file to 980.
*All of The Cheats go in the order of the background from left to right.
*Most of the Flash movies on the site display at an average of 12 frames per second. This toon seems to display something closer to 18 frames a second.
*Only one of The Cheat drawings exactly match the ghosted The Cheat from the Easter egg.

Remarks
*Some of the drawings of The Cheat look similar to his old Mario Paint version.

Goofs
*The "The" is not capitalized in the page title, even though it should be, since it's part of The Cheat's name.
*The description in the Toons Menu misspells "shimmy" as "shimmie".

Fixed Glitches
*Originally, playing the toon right from the Toons Menu caused the Flash file to appear straight on the menu. Once The Cheats in the background started to move, they sometimes exceeded the black borders and covered the Toons Menu. This was fixed later in the day.

Inside References
* The page title, "A-Lotsa the Cheatsa!", is the second use of "Cheatsa", the first being the Cheatsa Parties Easter egg in mile.
* The drum loop used in this short is almost identical to that used in the Theme Song Video.
* The background used (and the movement thereof) in this is reminiscent of a clip in the The Cheat Theme Song video.
* The phrase "shimmie and shake" in the Toons Menu description is a reference to 20X6 vs. 1936, where Old-Timey Homestar tells Stinkoman how to dance.

DVD Version
*The Easter egg is accessible by using the angle button.
*The DVD version features hidden creators' commentary. To access it, switch your DVD player's audio language selection while watching.

Commentary Transcript
(Commentary by: Mike Chapman, Ryan Sterrit, Matt Chapman)

MIKE: Ryan, tell them what we did.

RYAN: You guys drew The Cheat five hundred times.

MIKE: How long did it take? It was maybe... two weeks or something, week and a half?

MATT: Yeah, just did it every once&mdash; when we thought of it&mdash;

MIKE: Just sit down and draw.

MATT: We're really bad at drawing The Cheat, apparently. We were all over the map!

RYAN: Was it easier than a million free throws, Mike?

MIKE: Uh, slightly. A million free throws would take a year of shooting thirty-three hundred free throws a day, roughly.

Fun Facts
*Mike is mistaken; to shoot a million free throws in a year, it would take approximately 2,740 free throws per day (or about 2,733 per day on a leap year).
Angled Pixels

Zbelac123:

In the Homestar Runner universe, characters often like to use games and computers that are outdated. Unlike modern computers, this means that the pixels are large and very visible, giving the figures a blocky appearance. However, sometimes pixels will appear tilted, an impossible occurrence on a real screen. <br>
The appearance of angled pixels was more common in the early days of the website, but they still appear occasionally today. The presence of angled pixels can usually be attributed to ease of animation in Flash; rather than drawing sprites for movement with properly-positioned pixels, images are simply rotated.

Appearances
*In Search of the Yello Dello &mdash; In the Atari 2600 scene, the swinging vine, Homestar Runner's legs are tilted when swinging on the vine, as well as the crocodiles' upper jaws.
*TROGDOR! &mdash; The "Keep Playing" screen shows Strong Bad and Trogdor with their pixels angled.
**Also, in the "A Funny Joke" intermission, the arrows shot at the knight are angled as they bounce off him.
**Additionally, during the ending scene with the smote Kerrek, the pixels are angled as its body hits the ground.
*Population: Tire &mdash; The Videlectrix Mascot's pixels are angled in the Videlectrix logo screen.
*Awexome Cross &mdash; The Tire charging animation has its pixels angled.
**The mascot on the logo screen also has angled pixels.
*Armless Invaders &mdash; Strong Bad's head (as well as Homestar's prancing) is angled.
*The Cheat's Smoking Challenge &mdash; The Cheat's arms are angled.
*Strong Bad Sign &mdash; Strong Bad's arms are angled.
*Email video games &mdash; When the bowl labeled "FOOD" appears, the pixels are angled as it hits the ground.
*Stinkoman 20X6 &mdash; In many cutscenes, the character's sprites are displayed at an angle.
*Email slumber party &mdash; The pixels in the hands in Clapping Party are angled.
*Email email thunder &mdash; The pixels that make up the bugle are angled.
*Make-O Your Own Stinko &mdash; You can rotate the sprites.
*Compy Catalog The compe's many loops and ribbons on-screen have angled pixels.
500 The Cheats
Lots and lots of The Cheat...

Cast (in order of appearance): The Cheat

Date: Monday, February 13, 2006

Running time: 0:30

Page title: A-Lotsa the Cheatsa!

Everything Else, Volume 3

Transcript
{While music plays with The Cheat's mumblings serving as the only lyrics, various drawings of The Cheat flash in a box in the middle of the screen. Lots of smaller The Cheat drawings are seen in the background. The Cheats in the background eventually turn around and upside-down in time to the music. Then the background flashes several colors, and the box with the main The Cheat drawings bounces and moves around the screen in time to the music. It finally returns to the center as the song ends with "done." written in it, and the background completely black. "back" and "do'gain?" appear below.}

* There is only one cheat drawing that exactly fits the ghosted cheat easter egg.

MATT: Yeah, just did it every once&mdash; when we thought of it&mdash;
