The '''Old-Timey''' Era is the collective name for the Homestar toons said to have been made in the 1930s; and are in essence a pastiche/tribute to the cartoons of the time. The toons are in black and white and have intentionally sloppy edits, a grainy and scratched appearance, and a soundtrack filled with static and pops. The characters look and sound different from their modern-day counterparts, and often have different personae, much in the way that the characters in the earliest Disney and Warner Brothers cartoons are noticeably different to later incarnations.

This era spans from [[1933]] with "[[Kick the Can]]" to the 1937 release of "[[That A Ghost]]." Each new toon appears to take place in a later year than previous toons. It is possible that the Old-Timey dates are following the current date, with a difference of 67 years. ''Kick the Can'', dated 1933, was released in 2000. Later cartoons released in 2003 are dated 1936, and ''That A Ghost'', released in 2004, is dated 1937.

Most of the toons from this era, explicitly set in the [[Wikipedia:Great Depression|Great Depression]], center around the main characters' (The Homestar Runner, Old-Timey Marzipan and Fat Dudley) quest for food, and Old-Timey Strong Bad's attempts to foil them with the help of his sidekicks The Strong Man and The Sneak.

Me: 16-year-old guy, lots and lots of curly brown hair.

The wiki is a place where I'm free to correct as many spellings as I see fit. That's what I'm going to do. Whenever I'm feeling like it, I'll bounce around the wiki and whenever I find something not up to code I'll fix it.

I'll not be doing this all the time, because I have other things to do. I mean, I won't be around seemingly 24-7 like some of the, whaddaya call 'em, sysops? For one thing I have a life. In my spare time I design fonts. Sounds boring, kind of is sometimes, but I still like it. Also I like to go creekwalking, which is where you walk in a creek, and I like to walk in the woods.

Credentials: I'm not the best at wiki stuff, like... coding, and formatting text... but I got 16th at the Scripps Howard National Spelling Bee in 2003, so I'm qualified to tell you that you spelled something wrong.

*The sign at the auction where we see the Poopsmith and Pom Pom says "CREEPING silent DEATH auction" which could be reference to Metallica's "Creeping Death", which was a reference to one of the Plagues in The Bible.
*The "[[Wikipedia:Tommy John surgery|Tommy John Surgery]]" that Coach Z mentioned is a surgery performed (mainly on pitchers) to replace a torn elbow ligament with one from another part of the body.
*Strong Bad is actually wearing purple boxing gloves, which is something he complained about in [[New Boots]].
*In the haunted locka-room, there is a sign in the top-left corner that says, "WEAR FLIP FLOPS." This may be a reference to the in-joke "[[Wear a Bikini!|WEAR A BIKINI!]]" Or it may just be because it's good policy to wear flip flops in public showers.
*This is more nitpicky than anything else, but if Strong Bad wanted to scare the hiccups out of The Cheat, why didn't he just use the bear-shark from Strongbadia? That always terrifys the little yellow squeaky guy to no end.
*Without the green hair and red crap. Strong Bad looks like the picture of Strong Bad with all white stuff on his face in the museum section of H*R website.
*The sign in the locka-room that reads "Don't go into the marsh!!!!" refers to a similar sign in the Monster Plantation ride at Six Flags Over Georgia.
*The KOT's sign originally spelled "Turducken" as "Terducken". This was fixed a few days after the cartoon was released.
*The reference to "my bad pennies" is, of couse, the name for the Joker's henchmen (high school dropouts) on the [http://www.clivebanks.co.uk/Batman/Jokergoestoschool.htm 60's television series]
*When the the gang leaves Coach Z's "locka-room" the puddle under the drippy towel overlaps Strong Mad, even though he's in front of it.
*It's kind of strange that Strong Bad doesn't know what a haiku is, considering that he used one in [[japanese cartoon]]. The haiku he makes in this cartoon is his second.
*Strong Mad apparently has a thing for athletes. He dressed as Kobe in [[A Decemberween Pageant]], and has dressed as a professional sports player in two of the last three Halloween episodes (Refrigerator Perry, Ben Wallace), and wore a baseball cap with the Detroit Tigers' logo on it as Magnum, P.I.
