The black market is how goods are illegally sold in the Homestar Runner universe. There are known branches of it in Free Country, USA and Peasantry (or thereabouts), and it was also mentioned in one of the Dangeresque films.
Bubs' Black Market
The most notable black market location is at the back of Bubs' Concession Stand. Bubs sells his unlicensed Strong Bad and The Cheat merchandise from there, as well as weapons and other assorted items.
Known Items Sold by Bubs
- Strong Bad ointment
- The Cheat dolls
- Strong Bad "winter hats"
- Strong Bad piñatas
- Flamethrower that shoots throwing stars
- Pottery shard (from Homsar Reservation)
Appearances
- Peasant's Quest — When examining the baby, the description says "No wonder they fetch such a pretty penny on the black market."
- Email licensed — Bubs is selling Strong Bad merchandise (such as ointment and piñatas from the black market behind his concession stand.
- Strong Badia the Free — Strong Bad has to trade Strong Sad's pretendix to Bubs via the black market in order to obtain an inventory item.
- Dangeresque 3: The Criminal Projective — Perducci mentions hiring thieves to steal priceless art to sell on the black market.
