More often than not in the Homestar Runner universe, the characters try to persuade others that something is either true or untrue, when in fact the opposite is extremely obvious.

Marzipan's Answering Machine
- Marzipan's Answering Machine Version 1.0
- Strong Bad calls claiming that he is "Mr. Nobody from the Toilet Patrol". He asks Marzipan to put her head in the toilet and flush to see if it still works.
- Marzipan's Answering Machine Version 2.0
- Strong Bad calls claiming that he is "Detective Everybody". He says that Homestar Runner was shot dead for being to stupid.
- Pom Pom calls and apparently tells Marzipan about something that Homestar said. Homestar repeatedly insists that he did not say that, and that Pom Pom is crazy.
- Marzipan's Answering Machine Version 3.0
- Strong Bad calls pretending to be Marzipan herself. He tells "herself" to punch Homestar and start calling herself "Uglypan".
- Marzipan's Answering Machine Version 4.0
- Strong Bad calls pretending to be The King of Town. He tells Marzipan to punch The King of Town and to give Strong Bad a dollar.
- The King of Town calls pretending to be Strong Bad. He tells Marzipan that it has been Strong Bad leaving the prank calls, and to return The King of Town's Easy-Bake Oven.
- Marzipan's Answering Machine Version 5.0
- Strong Bad calls claiming that he is "Constable Anybody" at the "Royal Society for Total Dorks". He says that Mazipan will become president if she sticks her head out the window and stick some pencils up her nose.
- Marzipan's Answering Machine Version 6.0
- Strong Bad calls claiming that he is "Dr. Professional". He says that Marzipan has been diagnosed with serious problems, and to start giving away her stuff.
- Strong Bad calls again, saying that he has a real girlfriend for whom he needs to buy a Valentine's Day present.
- Homestar calls asking Marzipan what to get his girlfriend for Valentine's day. He calls marzipan annoying and overbearing, and then realizes his mistake, at which point he begins pretending to be a dial tone.
- Marzipan's Answering Machine Version 7.0
- Homestar calls claiming that he is "Dead Guy Perez".
- Strong Bad calls claiming that he is "Safety Dan", and gives Marzipan fake safety tips.
- Marzipan's Answering Machine Version 8.0
- Strong Bad calls claiming that he is "Sweepstakes Ron". He says that Marzipan has won a million punches in the face.
- Marzipan's Answering Machine Version 9.2
- Strong Bad calls claiming that he is "Cableman Jorge". He tells Marzipan to run her cable in the general direction of Strong Bad's House.
- Strong Bad calls agin, saying that tofu is made from baby seals.
- Homestar calls and accidentally breaks up with Marzipan. After realizing his mistake, he switches the answering mackine tape with one on which he has done imitations of Marzipan, Strong Bad, Coach Z, Strong Sad, and himself.
- Marzipan's Answering Machine Version 10.2
- Strong sad calls to ask Marzipan if she wants to come over and watch the V.I. Warshawski DVD. he later calls again and admits that he doesn't really have the DVD.
- Homestar calls several times during a prank call lesson from Strong Bad. He claims to be Batman, Strong Bad, and "Sugarface".
- Marzipan's Answering Machine Version 11.2
- Strong Bad calls claiming to be "Bob Statesman". He asks Marzipan for campaign donations.
- Marzipan's Answering Machine Version 12.2
- Strong Bad calls, claiming to be "Goatface".
- Marzipan calls herself, claiming to be not Marzipan.
- Strong Bad calls agin, claiming to be all of Marzipan's friends.
- Marzipan's Answering Machine Version 13.2
- Strong Bad calls, claiming to be "Lorenz Magazine Man". He tells Marzipan that her magazine subscription is "about to erupt".
Strong Bad Emails
- Email sugarbob - Strong Bad types in different colors and fonts to try to convince the emailer that he is taken by several girlfriends.
- Email lures & jigs — Strong Bad accidentally admits to not knowing anything about the ladies. He then hurriedly tries to rectify his slip-up before running off.
- Email stunt double — Strong Bad says that he doesn't use a stunt double. When Dangeresque II: This Time, It's Not Dangeresque 1 is then shown, it is obvious that Strong Sad is Strong Bad's stunt double.
- Email couch patch — Strong Bad claims that he attempted to hide his Aztec gold in the couch.
- Email different town — Strong Bad is singing while standing on the stool when Strong Sad walks in. Strong BAd claims that he was just checking the lights.
- Email crying — Strong Bad begins to sniffle over Li'l Brudder, and runs off claiming that he just has "a food" in the oven.
- Email other days — Strong Bad tries to convince the viewer that on Saturdays, he does not go to swim practice, and instead takes battle axe lessons. In an Easter egg, Strong Sad is seen telling Strong Bad that they are late for swim practice.
- Email extra plug — Strong Bad says that the hot girl that he will be dancing with will be The Cheat, before catching himself and stating that it will be an actual hot girl.
- Email secret identity — Strong Bad says that his secret identity is The Poopsmith, only to be disproven when The Poopsmith himself walks in.
- Email senior prom — Strong Bad claims that he got a message on his answering machine from "Delilelia". It is obvious that it is just he who is providing the girl's voice, and that the "answering machine" which is just a clock radio.
- Email strong badathlon — Strong Bad claims that his strongest event in the Strong Badathlon is "Probably Something with Guitars, lasers, Robots, and Hot Girls". This event is only shown in Powered by The Cheat form, obviously suggesting that the event did not actually take place.
Other
- Halloween Awards Show — Strong Bad claims to have a super-hot girlfriend who recently got sucked into a wormhole.
- Where's The Cheat? — Strong Bad calls Marzipan, pretending to be Homestar Runner, saying that he killed Pom Pom.
- Teen Girl Squad Issue 10 — After being caught making out with a drawing of The Ugly One, Strong Bad hurriedly stuffs the drawing into his mouth and claims that is a piece of pizza.
- Halloween Potion-ma-jig — The King of Town tries to convince Homestar that he is not trying to find a ham sandwich that he had buried in the Spooky Woods when he was nine. The Poopsmith is seen right next to him, digging holes.
