Below is a chart showing the visuals that occur during the music video Experimental Film.

Lyrics	Visuals
(Intro)	A scene on a kitchen table where cups of coffee and a glass of water are hit by drumsticks as if they were a drum set, causing splashes for each beat at the start of the song.
The color of infinity inside an empty glass	Black-and-white film style. Strong Sad is looking through a glass of ice water on a table in front of him. The view gradually zooms out to reveal a bare bulb hanging from the ceiling behind him. At the end of the zoom, Strong Sad makes a sighing motion.
I'm squinting my eye and turning off	Strong Sad is standing in front of an ATM in The Field. The left edge of the film reel is exposed. Strong Sad hesitantly raises his finger toward the keypad on the ATM.
and on and on and off the light	The ATM screen fills the frame, with Strong Sad's reflection visible and the words "CHECK BALANCE??" flashing on it. For a brief moment, the view switches to an extreme close-up of Strong Sad's eye, which snaps shut in a sort of flinch.
It's for this experimental film	The left edge of the film reel is exposed in the middle of the frame, leaving a large amount of white space on the left side. Strong Sad is standing in The Field on the right, watching the exposed sprocket holes go by.
Which nobody knows about, and which	Gradual zoom-in on a close-up of Strong Sad's face, wearing a vacant expression and looking at something just below the camera. The flashing text "CHECK BALANCE??" is somehow reflected on his forehead.
I'm still figuring out what's going to go	A bare lightbulb swings back and forth in front of the camera, while a pencil drawing of a lightbulb is projected over it.
In my experimental film	Strong Sad is filming himself in a mirror with what looks like a Super-8 camera. A bare bulb hangs at the top-left of the frame. Near the end of the shot, Strong Sad opens the eye that isn't pressed to the eyepiece, and blinks twice.
Yeah, you're all gonna be in this experimental	Switch to Powered by The Cheat style. The tentacle skull rides an old bicycle across a football field, while the people in the stands flip a series of large signs to show "YEAH!", a coffee cup, and a mountain scene.
film, And even though I can't	The PBTC head-tops of John Flansburgh and John Linnell appear against a mountain-scene backdrop. A speech bubble appears over Flansburgh saying "yeah.", which is soon replaced by another one coming from Linnell and saying "film."
explain it	A very chaotic scene briefly flashes up, involving a large green horse-like silhouette with a red banner reading "YEAH!" hanging over its back.
I already know how	Switch to black-and-white film style. Strong Sad's head fills the frame once again, but this time the flashing text "MAKE DEPOSIT??" is reflected on his head.
great it's	Switch to Powered by The Cheat style. A series of different-sized ATMs appears on an arctic landscape with an igloo in the background. Each ATM screen bears a single letter, with the series spelling out "EXPERIMENTALFILM". The entire row of ATMs flashes twice, and a penguin pokes its head out of a small patch of water in the lower-left of the frame.
I already know the ending, It's the part that	Switch to black-and-white film style. Strong Sad is wearing a shaving cream beard and looking at himself in the mirror. He lifts a razor to his face, then sighs and puts it down without doing anything.
makes your face implode	Switch to an animated pen drawing of a coffee cup and a drumstick on yellow lined paper. The drumstick hits the surface of the coffee three times, once for every beat that occurs during this scene.
I don't know what makes your face	Back to black-and-white film style. Strong Sad is front and center, dressed as the Grim Reaper, complete with scythe. Both edges of the film reel are exposed.
implode, But that's	Again, both edges of the film are exposed. Grim Reaper Strong Sad and regular Strong Sad are looking at each other in The Field by way of a rather obvious split-screen technique.
the way the movie ends	Switch to animated pen drawings on white lined paper. A framed picture of a man with his head turned away is visible, with the script "Our Gracious Host" written underneath it. The man in the picture briefly turns to look forward, then turns back as the camera zooms in on him.
And in my experimental film	Switch to a muffin sitting on a table. In the background, a window is seen, showing a rising and setting sun. On the table, a flower blooms out of a flower pot.
which nobody knows about, but which	Switch to Strong Sad looking at his hands with a horrified expression. There are large cracks in his hands, and dozens of tiny The Cheats are crawling out of the cracks.
I'm still figuring out, your face	Switch to a wall of multi-colored tiles. A globe in spinning in front of it, with nothing on it but land in the shape of a dinosaur.
implodes in my experimental film	Switch to Strong Sad and the ATM waist-deep in water. The lightbulb swinging above them, silhouetted like a wrecking ball.
Yeah, you're all gonna be in this	Switch to a pop quiz written on a piece of paper. There four answers written on the paper, 1.) Yeah! 2.) the cotton gin 3.) Appomattox 4.) 755. "Yeah!" is highlighted. A+ is written at the top of the page in red pen.
experimental film, and even	Switch to Strong Sad in front of the ATM, the word "YEAH!!" reflected on his forehead, flashing.
though I can't explain it	Switch to the ATM screen, with a Powered by The Cheat lion in a beanie cap on it, with "it's a lion!" written under it.
I already	Switch to a piece of paper with the word "YEAH!!" erased on it, lying next to a pencil. A drawing of the tentacle skull rides across the piece of paper.
know how great it's	Switch to Strong Sad standing in a corner, his shadow moving back and forth behind him
even though I can't explain it, I	Switch to the lightbulb swinging back and forth, as Gavin crawls up the wall.
already know how great it's	Switch to PBTC-style, at the football field. The people in the stands flip the signs to show the word "YEAH," the tentacle skull riding the bike, and an olive on a toothpick.
(Instrumental)	Switch to film style, with Homestar Runner (in color) playing "Space Invaders" on the ATM, with presidents instead of spaceships, holding an Atari 2600 joystick. Strong Sad comes from the left of the screen and yells at him. Homestar drops the joystick and runs away. Switch to Grim Reaper Strong Sad and normal Strong Sad looking at each other through split-screen again. Homestar looks in the shot from the middle of the screen, half of his body invisible, exposing the split-screen even more. Strong Sad yells at him again and Homestar runs away. Switch to Strong Bad and Strong Mad (also in color) at the ATM. Strong Mad is shaking the ATM violently, and Strong Bad is collecting all the money that falls out. Strong Sad appears again and yells at them. Strong Mad hurls the ATM up in the air, and they both run away in fear, leaving the money behind. The ATM is then seen to fall behind the bushes in the background.

It's for this experimental film, which nobody knows about	Switch back to film style. Strong Sad is standing in the middle of the frame, and both edges of the film reel are exposed. The image of Strong Sad shakes back and forth, and the film dissolves, showing a PBTC Strong Sad raising up his hands.
and which I'm still	Switch back to film style. Strong Sad is in front of his mirror with a shaving cream beard and a razor. He shaves away a strip of shaving cream.
figuring out what's going	Switch to an extreme close up of a PBTC-style The Cheat shaving.
what's going to go in my	Switch to the field again, with the left side of the film reel exposed, a large amount of empty white space on the side of the frame. Strong Sad watches the sprocket holes go by, and then jumps past them into the white space.
experimental film	Switch to Strong Sad falling through empty space, the heads of various presidents from the ATM spinning around him.
Yeah, you're all gonna be in this	Switch to Homestar, Strong Bad and Strong Mad in The Field dancing.
experimental film	Switch to a computer keyboard where the Y, E, A and H keys are lined up together. A finger presses all four of them.
and even though	Switch to the football field, where a PBTC Strong Sad falls from the air and lands in the ground. The people in the stands hold up the signs forming the words "it's a lion."
I can't explain it, I	Switch to film style, where the ATM is surrounded by water again. The right side of the film reel is exposed. The finger that pressed the keyboard reaches out of the water.
already know how great it's gonna	Switch to Strong Sad in a desert being chased by the ATM wearing a football helmet.
Yeah, you're gonna	Switch to a PBTC John Flansburgh and John Linnell and a film-style Strong Sad in front of the mountain backdrop. Strong Sad jumps up, and so do Flansburgh and Linnell.
be in this	Switch to Grim Reaper Strong Sad and the tentacle skull in The Field, still using a split screen for some reason. Strong Sad jumps, and so does the tentacle skull.
experimental	Switch to the real ATM and the PBTC ATM in the desert. They both jump up in the air somehow.
film, and even	Switch to the cups of coffee from the beginning being hit by drumsticks.
though I can't explain it, I	Switch to a PBTC Strong Sad running up to the film style ATM.
already know great it's, even	Switch to Strong Bad in The Field dancing under the words "real smooth moves."

great it's	Switch back to the kitchen table. The sun sets again, the flower blooms again. The Tentacle Skull can be seen peeking out from behind the table several times during this. Fade out.
