This may sound like a lot of money, but please don't feel obligated to donate large amounts just to reach our goal. If only 200 users donate US$10, we'll raise the entire amount. We currently have over three thousand registered users on the wiki, and at least 200 of those should be actively participating on the site. If you use the site often, US$10 is a small amount to ask for the six months. If you are a power user (you know who you are), US$20 is still quite a reasonable amount.

We're also planning to recoup some cost by offering a hosting service on the new server. If you're currently paying to host a website somewhere, we would encourage you to switch to our new service when it becomes available. You'll be supporting the wiki and we may even be able to save you some money. You can find out more about the new service by emailing [mailto:info@fellowsites.org info@fellowsites.org].

Pledge-o-meter

It's that time again. Since we can't legally sell any products or advertising space on the site, a pledge drive is the only way for us to afford the cost of our new dedicated server. This pledge drive will be held from Monday, October 24, to Monday, November 14, 2005.

[edit] Why do we need funds?

We recently moved to a new server. If you'd like to know more about what's going on, you can send an email to info@hrwiki.org. We'll be happy to send you more information.

Our hosting cost on the old server was US$50/month. The new dedicated server is costing us $240/month. Right now we're paid in full until the end of the year, but our funds were getting pretty low.

[edit] The goal

We'd like to raise US$2,000. With this amount, we will have enough to cover hosting costs for a little over six months.

This might sound like a lot of money, but please don't feel obligated to donate large amounts just to reach our goal. If only 200 users donate US$10, we'll raise the entire amount. We currently have over three thousand registered users on the wiki, and at least 200 of those should be actively participating on the site. If you use the site often, US$10 is a small amount to ask for six months. If you are a power user (you know who you are), US$20 is still quite a reasonable amount.

[edit] How may I help?

To make a donation, please utilize our donations page or send a PayPal payment directly to donations@hrwiki.org.

We're also planning to recoup some costs by offering a non-profit hosting service on the new server under the name FellowSites. If you're currently paying to host a website, we would encourage you to switch to our new service when it becomes available. You'll be supporting the wiki and we might even be able to save you some money. To find out more about the new service check out the FellowSites website beta or contact us.

Of course, you are under no obligation to donate or host a website with us. Please feel free to continue using the site even if you're unable to help out financially. Just being a member of the wiki and helping out where you can is more than enough contribution in itself.

To those who donate and to those who contribute to our community in other ways, we are grateful for your support.

Sincerely,
