Revision as of 21:11, 2 April 2012

The following topic was discussed before this page was moved into the HRWiki namespace:

Uhh, Venusy doesn't seem to come on anymore. Can I, like, take over this page?
(Oh, and remember to go on Newgrounds!) Homestar-Winner (talk) 01:25, 2 April 2008 (UTC)

Well, you can always re-create it in your own userspace. --Mario2.PNG Super Martyo boing! 01:39, 2 April 2008 (UTC)
Or you can just edit it here. This isn't his user page, it's clear that edits from everyone are welcome. — It's dot com 02:11, 2 April 2008 (UTC)
In fact, Venusy hasn't edited in a whole year (except for a handful of user-space edits 8 months ago), and a lot of people are editing the page. Based on that, I think it should be co-opted for general wiki use. — It's dot com 00:52, 3 April 2008 (UTC)

2007 achive?

Is there a way to make an exact copy of what the Main Page looked like on April 1, 2007? Homestar-Winner (talk) 11:07, 4 April 2008 (UTC)

Thanks, DC. But could you link the info button to This page instead? I like it better without the links to newer revisions. Homestar-Winner (talk) 22:22, 4 April 2008 (UTC)
Nah, let's keep it pointed at the real page. — It's dot com 02:39, 7 April 2008 (UTC)

What about me?

  • Do you guys remember when I said I was leaving the Wiki on Fools Day 07? Am I allowed to add that? --TheYellowDart(t/c) 15:06, 4 April 2008 (UTC)
Of course! Homestar-Winner (talk) 20:29, 4 April 2008 (UTC)

"We Don't Need a Running Tally"

How come? BBG 20:13, 1 April 2009 (UTC)

Have you ever tried to catch a tally running full speed? You'll never catch up to one! Then they get away and they start causing a ruckus, and before you know it, they've blown up the moon, eaten half the world's food supply, and made a really long long-distance phone call to some guy who lives in Thailand. --Jay v.2024 (Auld lang syne) 20:17, 1 April 2009 (UTC)
Jay, I think he's serious. By the way, did you put a reference to MichaelXX2 in your sig? MichaelXX2 mail_icon.gif link_icon.gif 20:21, 1 April 2009 (UTC)
So was I. Those tallies can be real pains unless you keep them penned in all the time. And sometimes I put a MichaelXX2 reference in my sig. Other times I don't. It's all depending on my mood and your browser's cache. --Jay v.2024 (Auld lang syne) 20:27, 1 April 2009 (UTC)
I saw your sig page. :) Thanks! MichaelXX2 mail_icon.gif link_icon.gif 20:29, 1 April 2009 (UTC)
Well i am very serious too... serious about the most incredible, tantalizing, pants-defying, mind-googling RC flood in the whole April Fools Day, lalalalala! — Defender1031*Talk 20:30, 1 April 2009 (UTC)
I meant to ask why It's dot com isn't letting us record April Fool's 2009 shenanigans here. BBG 20:33, 1 April 2009 (UTC)
Oh, just keep your pants on for real. The page's protection runs out tomorrow, at which point you can document all the tomfoolery, itsdotcomsilliness, and jayidiocy you'd like. --Jay v.2024 (Auld lang syne) 20:34, 1 April 2009 (UTC)
BBG: Because it's totally lame to be making a joke while at the same time holding up a sign that says "I am making a joke." — It's dot com 20:35, 1 April 2009 (UTC)

Uh, edit?

How do you edit this page? All I get at the top is "view source," not "edit." I did...er...something on my userpage. Religious Corn   17:54, 1 April 2010 (UTC)

They keep it locked on each April 1 in an attempt to maintain sanity. It should be back open tomorrow. The Knights Who Say Ni 17:58, 1 April 2010 (UTC)

Alternate signature locations

Were people like Fangoriously who have their signatures somewhere other than "/sig" exempt from this year's signature prank? i never got to figure out b/c he/she was smart and got it all settled in advance, and idk anyone else off the top of my head who uses such a different signature location. The Knights Who Say Ni 01:41, 6 April 2010 (UTC)

My sig showed up as what I changed it to for that day, "May I please use the compyuter?" And as for your question in your hiding comment, see the colors in my siggy here? --FangoriouslyFotoshopStar.png 03:17, 6 April 2010 (UTC)
the colors seemed to suggest a certain direction, and that's what i thought, but i wasn't certain enough. and if you look at this edit summary, not everyone knows. i know what your signature said, but if you had edited it a day later, it might not have shown up like you wanted it to. what i'm asking is if that signature tripper was only in effect for users who have their signature at "/sig". You don't have it there, and the fact that you edited it before april fools day means that even if you did have it there, you would not have been affected. now i think the only way left to find out if you would have been affected is to ask here. btw, does anyone else have their signatures in a different place? The Knights Who Say Ni 03:48, 6 April 2010 (UTC)
His would have been caught too. The only reason it wasn't is that he edited it outside the window of the prank. — It's dot com 14:25, 6 April 2010 (UTC)
Oh, poo. My apologies, Fangoriously. Shine Sprite (complain) 00:46, 7 April 2010 (UTC)

"Main" 2010 prank

At the top of this article, we briefly mention the "main" joke that the administrators put on this wiki for each year. Which would be the main joke of 2010: the renaming of the wiki or the automatic changing of everyone's signature? Shine Sprite (complain) 01:04, 7 April 2010 (UTC)

I'd mention both, since the rename seems even lamer when you just mention it by itself (this year was kind of a clear-the-palate year), but if I had to pick one or the other I'd say the rename was the so-called main gag since it was visible to everyone who visited the site. The signature prank was something I came up with on the spur of the moment. I was disabling sig editing (like I did a couple of years ago) when it struck me how funny it would be if you were editing your signature all clever-like (so you think) only to have it be changed to something else right from under you. At first I was going to have it pick another random user's name, but then I realized the Nicknames page is comedy gold. — It's dot com 02:07, 7 April 2010 (UTC)
Yeah, I really liked your signature idea! Also, I like that you put something up on the Main Page, too, because if I hadn't seen that, I wouldn't have thought this wiki was doing anything for the Fool's Day this year. Then, I wouldn't have thought to try to change my signature! Shine Sprite (complain) 11:30, 7 April 2010 (UTC)

2005

Was there a 2005 prank? RickTommy (edits) 03:38, 29 May 2010 (UTC)

*looks at list* Nope. — It's dot com 04:43, 29 May 2010 (UTC)
It may not be on the list, but even so, was there one? RickTommy (edits) 06:10, 29 May 2010 (UTC)

Content on this page triggers chrome 10's malware detection

Well not this page, but the article. As said by chrome: "hrwiki.org contains content from devonm.com, a site known to distribute malware. Your computer might catch a virus if you visit this site." ColdReactive 19:08, 20 February 2011 (UTC)

It seems like something very strange happened to DevonM's website recently. First his icons got taken down, and now all of his work is gone. Weird. I wonder if he can clear anything up. MichaelXX2 mail_icon.gif link_icon.gif 20:04, 20 February 2011 (UTC)
I'm guessing he's just lurking then. Because he hasn't done any contribs since 2009. ColdReactive 10:28, 22 February 2011 (UTC)
