There are 6 playable characters and character variations in Stinkoman 20X6.

Stinkoman is the main character of Stinkoman 20X6. He can run and jump fairly well. When he punches, he fires a long-ranged blast that sinks lower as it flies. You can hold the S button down to have him punch rapidly, although only three blasts can exist at a time. Note that prior to Level 9's release, his blasts had a much more limited range. A - Jump

SORRY, HAMBURGER
Stinkoman somehow gains the ability to jump very high when he needs to get over a high wall. When flying upwards or falling back down, he can only move left and right along the screen. When he punches like this, it doesn't create the ranged blast that it does when he's on foot. The related boss fight takes place on the ground, with the normal Stinkoman. A - Nothing

MY STUMMY HURTS...
Stinkoman gains Stlunko's fist after defeating him on Level 3. He uses this first throughout the following level. The giant fist slows Stinkoman down and extremely lowers his jumping capabilities. His giant fist can shield Stinkoman from attacks, and Stinkoman will automatically block lava flows whenever he gets close to one. Smashing his fist will kill any nearby enemies and make rocks drop, killing any enemies below. A - Jump

1-Up runs and climbs ladders slower than Stinkoman, but he can jump much higher, although this may be from the fact that he is on the moon. When he kicks, he doesn't send out a projectile. However, if you hold the S and left or right arrow buttons down together, you will cause him to stay put and do a continuous spinkick attack, protecting him from all sides from non-projectile attacks. If you make him jump while holding S he will do this spinkick in midair, and he can move around while doing it. A - Jump

In the Ice Zone, Stinkoman has poor traction due to the ice everywhere. Additionally, the cold weather will cause him to shiver and freeze to square if he stays idle. Doing this costs him one unit of health. Otherwise, he behaves the same as the normal Stinkoman does. A - Jump

MY STUMMY HURTS...
The Stinkowing is Stinkoman's aircraft that he uses when he passes through the evil jungle. You move it around with all four arrow keys because gravity doesn't effect it. One unfortunate side effect is that the level automatically scrolls while using the craft, and you have to stay onscreen. It is possible to pass through walls, but doing so causes damage. Sometimes the Stinkowing - and the scrolling - will speed up at certains points of the level. You have no control over this. Its normal shots simply fly forward until they leave the screen. You can cheat by firing some shots before "warp speed" sections of the level. When you speed up these previously fired shots will not go faster, and you will move at about the same speed as them. You have a limited supply of shields that you can use to completely protect yourself from harm for about six seconds. You can refuel your supply by gathering powerups throughout the level. A - Shield
