I don't think this should be deleted. Sure, it doesn't work if a page actually gets 404'd, but it works if you go directly to the 404'd page. Also, my comment about this page not meeting the standards was mainly about the missing ''file'' attribute in the <transcript> tag. I don't think this page hurts anybody.{{User:Loafing/sig}} 03:15, 1 September 2006 (UTC)

:Agreed. It responds with the subtitle when directly accesed, and does nothing unusual when not. There's no reason to delete. '''Keep'''. {{User:Qermaq/sig}} 03:22, 1 September 2006 (UTC)

:: No, I stand by my edit summary. This is getting carried away with the subtitles. It's only one word (sorta) that is clearly visible on the page itself, and you can only reach through just the right URL which is only linked on the Wiki. It's not necessary to convey the meaning of the page, and it's just kinda wasting bandwidth. --{{User:Jay/sig}} 08:02, 1 September 2006 (UTC)

It doesn't, because the GM script uses the HTML page name to load the subtitles. And we really should concentrate on subtitling the toons. Also, The thing, please read Hrwiki:Subtitles, this was not up to standard. Loafing 21:32, 31 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Deletion

I don't think this should be deleted. Sure, it doesn't work if a page actually gets 404'd, but it works if you go directly to the 404'd page. Also, my comment about this page not meeting the standards was mainly about the missing file attribute in the <transcript> tag. I don't think this page hurts anybody. Loafing 03:15, 1 September 2006 (UTC)

Agreed. It responds with the subtitle when directly accesed, and does nothing unusual when not. There's no reason to delete. Keep. Qermaq - (T/C) Image:Qermaqsigpic.png 03:22, 1 September 2006 (UTC)
No, I stand by my edit summary. This is getting carried away with the subtitles. It's only one word (sorta) that is clearly visible on the page itself, and you can only reach through just the right URL which is only linked on the Wiki. It's not necessary to convey the meaning of the page, and it's just kinda wasting bandwidth. --Jay (Talk) 08:02, 1 September 2006 (UTC)
I'll have to say I'm with Jay on this one. Unless there's some way to implement this so it works whenever you get 404'd, it's rather pointless and a waste of time. — Lapper (talk) 12:36, 1 September 2006 (UTC)
This whole discussion has probably wasted more bandwidth than the subtitles ever will ;-) Yes, it was unnessecary to subtitle that page. And it's also unnessecary to delete it. Anyways, I've decided that defending this is not worth my time anymore. As for the implementation that Lapper talks about, both Phlip and I agree that this is not worth the effort. Loafing 13:35, 1 September 2006 (UTC)
So what's the word? Should the tag be removed? — Lapper (talk) 14:48, 1 September 2006 (UTC)
I tweaked the wording to make the subtitles closer to something useful. Does that help justify this page's existence? — It's dot com 14:51, 1 September 2006 (UTC)
It's still perfectly pointless since you won't access these subtitles when visiting a page with this error other than 404error.html. —Gafaddict Image:Gafaddict sigpic.gif (Talk | Contribs.) 03:15, 3 September 2006 (UTC)
I think we all agree that creating the transcript was pointless, yet the transcript uses a miniumum of space and bandwidth and as such presents no harm in its existence. Allow it to stay, if for no other reason than there's no good reason to delete. Qermaq - (T/C) Image:Qermaqsigpic.png 03:18, 3 September 2006 (UTC)
