::About the last two messages, in the game menu when you change your ship it will turn into the regular character not the 20X6 counterpart. For example the [[Pom Pom]] capsule is orange not black and white like his 20X6 counterpart [[Pan Pan]]. I'm stumbling upon this conversation months later, but I see that nobody's really answered the question. Why, on the article page, is he called "1-Up the extra man" instead of just "1-Up"? Every time somebody tries to fix it, it gets reverted. The only reference to this I can find is one instance in the Stinkomanual, and that seems more like a throwaway line than anything. :::::: Seriously, I read your post (and that interview), but maybe I was unclear, so I'll spell it out: Mike saying "It’s either Extra Man or One Up" fits with the line in the Stinkomanual; that is, I can see how the former inspired the latter, but I what I don't get is how an obscure, non-canon interview combined with an intentionally poorly written, uncapitalized, throwaway reference in the manual makes 1-Up's name anything more than "1-Up". I say uncapitalized because if the manual read, "1up the Extra Man", I could accept it as part of the name, but I think it's just a description&mdash;if 1-Up weren't getting in the way on that level, Stinkoman wouldn't have to protect him. I've looked through the page's history, and there were references to "Extraman" way before the debut of the Stinkogame. So I don't doubt for a second that TBC were considering giving 1-Up a different name. What I'm saying is, even if they ''were'' considering this, they ultimately chose "1-Up", and the isolated "extra man" bit in the manual is just a gag. Here's an analogy: at one point, they were going to make the KOT be Marzipan's father. Heck, you can even still find this on the [[HR:charactersold.html|official site]]. :"1-Up" used to mean it was Player 1's turn to play. The full term was "Player 1 Up" and it usually appeared above the score. But as early as Mr. Do! and other games, free lives were given for certain achievements. Sometimes they were called 1-Ups to differentiate from bonus scores like 1000, etc. By the time of Super Mario Bros., they made it a moving green mushroom. I've noticed this little peculiarity: Homestar Runner's name is pronounced in his accent "Homestaw Wuh-nohw," and I noticed that when pronouncing 1-Up's name in this voice, it came to be "Wuhn-uhp." This is peculiar because of the ''Wuh-nohw'' and ''Wuhn-uhp'' in the pronunciation in Homestar's accent.

Give that, is it possible that 1-Up's name may have been a grammatical corruption of Runner, and not just the reference to Nintendo Mario games? {{User:DannyDaWriter/sig}}

Well,in my perspective, 1-Up finds this girl 1-Up, (who looks exactly like him, but with pink hair in a ponytail & eyelashes) named Sara. She loves him a lot. So does he. One night, Sara is being bothered by an enemy from level 5 of "Stinkoman 20X6".
He watches her just standing there, looking ill, being cornered by the enemy. He goes over to her, gently nudges her over to his left side so she can't see the enemy, & says, "It's OK, Sara. I'll protect you.". He then hugs her & says, "There, you're safe now." A few months later, they have a baby, whom looks almost exactly like 1-up, but with blue hair, & name it Benny. Benny is a little overwhelmed by the littlest things as far as Stinkoboy, Stinkoman & Stinkogirl's son, & Sam Sam, Pan Pan & Laa Laa's son are concerned. When Sam-Sam falls on him, he pukes, resulting in little fits & being dependent on his mother & father. Eventually, Stinkoboy shows Benny, whom now has shorter hair now that he's a little older, around planet 20X6. Much to Stinkoboy's surprise, Benny says, "Yep!". Later on when He, Stinkoboy, & Sam Sam are on their way home, Stinkoboy tells Sam Sam not to fall on Benny, whom then blurts out, "Sammy!". Stinkoboy gets a little older, not wanting to hang around girls so much. Neither do Benny or Sam Sam. Benny outgrows his spitting & puking and is more mature & unreliable on 1-Up & Sara. The 3 live together, as it is obvious that they are gay.
