I agree.  I'm no U2-ologist, but I see no connection to anything Strong Bad did in the cartoon that would be construed as parodying/satirizing/have anything to do with-ing the Edge.  The only connection is that they rhyme.  I suppose the Chap Bros just noticed that a shortened, nicknamed form of "legend" was the word "ledge", and got 79 seconds of comedy out of it. Water on the knee might be a reference to the board game Operation. First thing I thought of when Homestar said it was this old commercial: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cZAaHv_8xUk

If you remove the loading screen and say that the toon ends on the very last frame before "no seconds left", it's almost exactly 79 seconds. The extra six seconds are the loading screen and the "end". --Jay o'Lantern (Haunt) 08:03, 18 May 2009 (UTC)

He's called HSR in New Stuff, but Homestar in Shorts. --TheFunmachine

The Ledge

  • "The Ledge" is possibly a reference to The Edge, the guitarist of U2.

Why? Was there any evidence that pointed to The Edge? If not, this is too much of a stretch. -- Nevadie 12:45, 18 May 2009 (UTC)

Operation

Water on the knee might be a reference to the board game Operation. First thing I thought of when Homestar said it was this old commercial: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cZAaHv_8xUk
