Coach Z's Dream

Coach Z's dream is uncannily similar to the cut scene in Zelda: Majora's Mask when you skip time ahead by playing the song of double time. This is characterized by the spinning background and the objects flying towards the camera. However the most striking similarity is that a rooster crows and the next scene fades in. Again- the spinning background, flying objects, and rooster are very, very, similar. And also, because Majoras Mask was released on Oct. 1, 2000 (5 months before the release of this toon) It is certainly worth noting in the "real world references" section of this toon's page. --Douglas_fir

I dunno, the spinning background with floating things to represent a dream is a cliché, as is a rooster crowing in the morning—but having not played the game I won't comment on how similar they are. --phlip TC 05:19, 24 Jul 2005 (UTC)

Tom Servo

The silhouette next to Coach Z in the movie theatre seems more like a silhouette of a key than the Tom Servo robot, the key being most likely to Coach Z's straps. --Gafaddict 23:11, 6 Feb 2004 (MST)

Really? I'm thinking it's exactly Tom Servo. Here's a Google image search that might help. -- Tom 17:29, 6 Feb 2005 (MST)
I agree that it is Tom Servo and think this should be accepted -- Douglas_Fir

Humphel

Humphel? I took a Google search. The only usages of this word is on the wiki. I seriously think someone made it up. And it sounds more like "humple" or "humble". Are you sure it's humphel? --VolatileChemical 10:38, April 16, 2005 (MST)

Dictionary.com has no results either. Hmm. →FireBird
Try that search again. I get seven hits for Humphel (which is a name, albeit an uncommon one, BTW) and only three are this Wiki. --Jay 01:56, 17 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Closed STUFF

Strong Sad's Tape (ACCEPTED)

When Strong Sad first walks into the locker room, the label on his "job" tape is written backwards. --VolatileChemical 8:57, 16 April 2005 (MDT)

  • Accept. --Gafaddict 10:57, 22 Apr 2005 (UTC)
  • Accept. Why was this STUFF'd? It's demonstrably true, and it's something most people wouldn't notice just by watching the 'toon. — It's dot com 20:40, 22 Apr 2005 (UTC)
    • 2nd place. Ding! --Trogga 22:37, 22 Apr 2005 (UTC)
    • Answer Unless I'm missing something, it wasn't actually deleted from the 'toon in question - apparently, VC added it directly here. Which is technically how STUFF is SUPPOSED to work, but nobody uses it that way. ;) Anyway, this one is true enough that it could have been directly added and no one would have batted an eye, so Accept. --Jay 05:35, 23 Apr 2005 (UTC)
  • Mistah Hippo says Accept! By the way, I use STUFF that way. o.o --Kiwi 18:28, 23 Apr 2005
  • Accept This is the best fun fact I've seen in a while. The_Pardack
  • Accept This is what the Fun Facts are supposed to be like - short, to the point, something interesting, but that many people wouldn't notice. --phlip 14:38, 2 May 2005 (UTC)

Strong Mad's Laugh

Possible piece of trivia - do we have Strong Mad laughing ANYWHERE else on H*R?

His Doug the Dino growls don't count... - blackbelt 00:18, 8 June 2005

I'm pretty sure he laughs at the "show" in extra plug. It's a very different laugh, but Strong Mad's voice has drastically changed since this 'toon. --Jay v.2024 (Auld lang syne) 05:33, 8 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Halloween Fairstival. And also, women can't drive! Aurora the Homestar Coder 05:52, 8 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Strong Mad also laughs in A Mother's Day Message and helium. It's changed from a quiet "huh huh huh" to a loud "DAA HAA HAA HAA!" Poopsmith Z

Goofs?

The last goof says that Coach Z is looking at the screen instead of the chalkboard in the "chalkboard scene." After reviewing it, I realized something - since Z's noggin is a silhouette, his head could be construed as looking either way. The same optical illusion occurs in MST3K - if you look a Crow T. Robot's head while in silhouette, it might seem as if he's watching the viewer instead of the movie.

So, my point in all of this is that it's not a 'goof' but an optical illusion. Any takers? The Smoking Monkey 13:15, 23 Jul 2005 (UTC)

Nope, it's a goof. Here's how to tell: Take a screenshot of the scene in question and open it in an image editor, like Photoshop. If you don't have Photoshop, go get it; it's good. Next, turn the brightness way up, and what do you see? Coach Z's eyes! He's definitely looking at the camera. Those sly Chaps! They thought we wouldn't notice. — It's dot com 13:42, 23 Jul 2005 (UTC)
Wow - I'll take your word for it. That's really funny that they would do that... The Smoking Monkey 16:04, 23 Jul 2005 (UTC)
They were probably just lazy and figured nobody would check. Remember, this toon was made a long time ago. As for the image, don't take my word for it... check out the goofs section of the article. — It's dot com 16:08, 23 Jul 2005 (UTC)
