Ding! Bubs is a featured article, which means it showcases an important part of the Homestar Runner body of work and/or highlights the fine work of this wiki. We also might just think it's cool. If you see a way this page can be updated or improved without compromising previous work, feel free to contribute.

Perhaps someone should list what he has sold at his store over the years, the only one I remember is "Chocolate covered flame throwers that shoot out 1 hundred dollar bills", but that's all I remember. I'm sure there's more though.--Gamingboy 07:50, 11 Nov 2004 (MST)

I remember 3 things, and I'm really sketchy on this...but it doesn't look like the Bubs fans are interested ;)
  • Flamethrowers that shoot chocolate hundred dollar bills (imitation chocolate!)
  • something to The Cheat for a form of fake currency
  • An ubercheap lunch special consisting of scraps --Southpaw018 20:34, 13 Nov 2004

This does sound worthwhile to list, but should probably belong over at Bubs' Concession Stand. I'm gonna start putting a list together and maybe add it over there. BTW, The Cheat had bought some kind of hobby kit with pencil shavings. --BaconSandwich 18:38, 7 Feb 2005 (MST)

I somehow remember Snow Cones, a Pancreas, and 4 Cool Drinks for 4 Cool guys.Look at a Thig in a Bag, --Gir007 00:24, 13 February 2006 (UTC)Zaak

"Glitchy Bubs"? Is that really required? --Upsilon 17:02, 19 Nov 2004

20X6 Bubs...

Are Greggo and Chorch from the Stinkoman 20X6 game possibly 20X6 versions of Bubs? The "teeth" on those two enemies vaguely remind me of Bubs. It's not much to go on, but we haven't yet seen any other variant of Bubs in 20X6, and I don't know why they'd put teeth on the robots if they weren't implying a connection.

I doubt it. →FireBird

It's possible, just kind of offense--Gir007 21:16, 13 February 2006 (UTC)

I know that it's like, a year and almost three months since (I can't spell that word) this discussion ended, but I just realized something. If 20X6 Coach Z is the main villain of Stinkoman 20X6, then isn't it possible, since (I still can't spell that word) Coach Z is always hanging out with Bubs, that Greggo and Chorch could be 20X6 versions of Bubs working for 20X6 Coach Z? --Homsar Lover

Bub's Last Name

Should it be considered Canon that Bubs's last name is "Concession Stand"?

I'd say yes, and in fact, it was added to this page just after you asked. --Jay o'Lantern (Haunt) 06:54, 1 Jun 2005 (UTC)
Wouldn't "Concession" be his middle name? —woddfellow2| 01:47, 4 Jun 2005 (UTC)
But does it need to be his "apparent" last name? Sure, Bubs may be a bit of an unscrupulous businessman, but why would he lie about his own name? --Jay o'Lantern (Haunt) 21:40, 17 Jun 2005 (UTC)
Why WOULDN'T he lie about his last name -- especially if he IS an unscrupulous business man? --Wkelly42 23:45, 17 Jun 2005 (UTC)

It's just a commercial, and the Senorial Day page states "If Bubs can be trusted, then we learn his full name is 'Bubs Concession Stand'". Also, I want to keep this Wiki's neutral point of view. --TROGGA! 23:43, 17 Jun 2005 (UTC)

I don't like the phrasing "apparent last name." I changed it to "Full name: Bubs C. Stand, as he claims in Senorial Day". Hopefully this will satisfy all. Homestar Coderhomestar-coder-sig.gif 00:09, 18 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Shark-Tooth Bubs

A new section about Shark-Tooth Bubs is in need of writing. A screen shot would be nice, too. —BazookaJoe 16:42, 1 Aug 2005 (UTC)

You can check out the new article I created for him. I know there are improvements to be made. Do you think we still need a section on this page now that there's an article? —THE PAPER PREEEOW 21:29, 7 Aug 2005 (UTC)

Made or paid?

Excuse me for being picky, but I always thought he was saying "I'm a self-paid man I am I am." Not "Self-Made." Anyone agree? — talk Bubsty edits 04:32, 25 Sep 2005 (UTC)

I'm positive he's saying "I'm a self made man."--minibaseball.png Bkmlb(talk to me·stuff I did) 13:54, 25 Sep 2005 (UTC)

Actually, I agree with Bubsty. I think he said "I'm a self-paid man". Obey.OBEY.OBEY THE CRAB!--Gir007 00:29, 13 February 2006 (UTC)Zaak

rathergood post gir007--Valf 00:12, 10 April 2006 (UTC)

I just re-listened, it's pretty clearly "made" here. Qermaq - (T/C) Image:Qermaqsigpic.png 00:17, 10 April 2006 (UTC)

Virus Bubs

Remember in Bubs in the Sb Email "Virus"? "I'm Sorry Strong Bad, but my Mouth was a broken tape player. I had no choice!" He was also holding Homestar's Left leg and near the end, after he shot the Compy with a Shotgun, Homestar asked for his leg back when it was clearly visible.Homestar's an idiot. But he's Marzipan's idiot. So were all safe.--Gir007 00:27, 13 February 2006 (UTC)Zaak

Huh?--Jnelson09 19:42, 20 February 2006 (UTC)

He said a broken jpeg.

Up close and personal

Pretty close

You'd think being that close his skin would have more variations. Just an observation. Thunderbird 02:35, 18 February 2006 (UTC)

Duck Guardian?

Is it just me or does that alien at the end look like Bubs? Stongbah 17:07, 11 June 2006 (UTC)

Bubs Alien?
The head and body color are the same, but they don't look the same. Maggot Man (talk) 17:24, 11 June 2006 (UTC)

Shouldn't Bubs' Domicle be the Stand? Just a thought, but it seems Bubs must live there, too, seeing he hardly goes anywhere else but there.

We don't make stuff up, though. There's no evidence he lives there. Qermaq - (T/C) Image:Qermaqsigpic.png 22:53, 21 July 2006 (UTC)

Bubs' head

Has anybody ever noticed that Bubs' head looks very similar to the Newbury Comics logo? Just a thought... Zero.exe 00:55, 31 October 2006 (UTC)

Just a thought... The thnikkaman isn't necessarily Bubs. This has never been conclusively proven, and bubs has never been suspected of being the thnikkaman by any of the major characters. What if it's homsar? We've all seen his disguise ability in impression. The Big Eye 23:23, 29 November 2006 (UTC)

Um, no. It's been pretty obvious since day one that Bubs is the Thnikkaman. As for Homsar, he can't change his voice to sound exactly like Bubs, even if he could make himself look exactly like him. Zero.exe 16:56, 30 November 2006 (UTC)
Well, he hasn't yet been observed to be able to imitate anyone's voice, to be technical. Still, any assumption beyond the obvious evidence is patent speculation. Qermaq - (T/C) Image:Qermaqsigpic.png 10:26, 1 December 2006 (UTC)

Well, there's a possibility it's Strong bad,as he perfectly pulled of Homestar and made a perfect him coustume(Albit in a "Da Bee" costume) in Pumpkin carve-nival.

In the first Easter egg found in cliffhangers (Strong Bad E-mail 158), Bubs seemed awfully annoyed when Coach Z "accused" himself of being the Thnikkaman. Well, if Bubs weren't the Thnikkaman, then why would he have been so defensive? Yes, Bubs might have shown annoyance regardless, but probably in a less defensive manner if he weren't the Thnikkaman (or so I think). ~Garnet Jell-o~ 16:19, 7 January 2007 (UTC)

Bubs can't possibly be the Thnikkaman. He doesn't have anything written on his chest, and he doesn't wear any type of glasses. If I were Bubs, and Coach Z said that he was the Thnikkaman, I'd get defensive too. Who wouldn't? The Thnikkaman is just too cool for Coach Z. 18:24, 14 March 2007 (UTC)

You make less sense all the time, Bubsy

After reviewing Bubs in the sbemail the chair, I think it would be cool if there was a page dedicated to how Bubs talks (we've already got great ones dedicated to Homsar and Coach Z) and some of his strange vocabulary. There was a great analysis of Homsar's "word salads." Any guesses on what condition Bubs might have (other than "strange old man")? Cyndentia

Bubs' Voice

Is Bubs supposed to sound black?

Well, Matt's said that Bubs is basically his best attempt at a Redd Foxx impersonation... --DorianGray

Isn't the way bubs is portrayed a bit racist? He's always willing to "stick it to the man" and the thnikkaman is a shaft-type hero. Other things collaborate this. 20:16, 18 February 2007 (UTC)

Who would it be racist against? Blue-headed people? Dancers? Concession stand owners? Could you be more specific? TotalSpaceshipGirl3 20:18, 18 February 2007 (UTC)

Yea, BLACK PEOPLE. 10:43, 19 February 2007 (UTC)

Bubs is blue, orange and green. He's not black, and he doesn't really act like a black American stereotype. How is his portrayal racist? Shwoo 11:03, 19 February 2007 (UTC)
Ihere's really no attribute of Bubs that I can exclusively pin to one ethnicity or racial background. I think the oversensitive would certainly have cause to invent offense, sure. I am also rather confident no real offense is given, as Bubs happens to be among the smartest of the lot. If one were to make a character as a racial insult, one would not then make that character about the smartest of all of them. Qermaq - (T/C) Image:Qermaqsigpic.png 14:31, 19 February 2007 (UTC)
I have never personally thought that Bubs was supposed to be black, anyway. I just think of him as some funny weird store-owner who helps and/or annoys the other characters. Nothing remotely racist about that. Plus, if they meant it that way, they would've made him say "Y'all come back now, ya hear?" and stuff like that. -Brightstar Shiner 14:37, 19 February 2007 (UTC)
Even if he was 'black' I can't see that it would be racist. First, I reject the idea that all members of all minorities (Something Bubs, a fat, eccentric orange and blue cartoon man with one eye bigger than the other isn't depicted as visually at the very least) have to be portrayed in a positive light. Besides this other characters are often portrayed as being eccentric, stupid or heavily intertwined with areas of popular culture, (Coach Z's love of rap, Strongbad with a mexican accent and wrestling mask, Marzipan's links to the hippy movement etc.) meaning and that any lampoon is fairly universal. Yhis means any attempt to make a stab at black people in general would have to be entirely intentional in this case. As the Brother Chaps have never made any noise about being against black people or other minorities in general that's a fairly strong accusation. 05:34, 17 March 2007 (UTC)
