Is this the end?

Is the Compy 386 dead? -- Anonymous, 19:56, 30 Nov 2004 (MST)

  • Strongbad's use of the compy is probably over, but since Homestar bought it, he might use it.
  • Yes this is the end of the Compy's era =(

Compy 386 Font

Does anyone know what the font used on the Compy 386 is? -- Anonymous, 18:17, 15 Oct 2004 (MST)

  • It's called "Press Start K." At least that's the version I have. Now, the Lappy font is anyone's guess. --Moldorma, 20:05, 30 Nov 2004 (MST)
    • The Lappy's font is called Glitch0. I'm not sure where you can get it, though. --Gafaddict, 22:56, 4 Jan 2005 (MST)

Compy 386's Startup Screen

Who realized the Compy 386's startup screen is like the screen of an old IBM PC's. They both have those white lines that make up IBM and 386. --Alexzero77, 19:40, 22 Oct 2004 (MST)

No Tower?

Where is the tower and hard drive to the computer? --Anonymous, 17:36, 29 Oct 2004 (MST)

  • How do you know it has a tower and hard drive?
    • Well, I suppose I just assumed it would have one. I know there are a few that don't have it, but there are always floppy disks on the side, and what not. So is there not a tower or what? --Anonymous, 08:09, 9 Nov 2004 (MST)

Compy's Gender

This computer must be a male since Strong Bad refers to it has his "brother" in the email "virus", number 118. Heh...Tandy's a girl and Compy's a guy. --Osiris-Kitty

  • Tell the printer I miss her?--Dwedit 16:44, 28 Nov 2004 (MST)

Declined Fun Facts

These were on the STUFF page and declined. If you wish to contest these, leave a note here, but don't allow it to be confused with any of the original votes.

Compy 386 on e-mail menu

When this e-mail (virus) was posted to Homestarrunner.com, the Compy 386 was still used for the e-mail menu and appeared to be working fine.

  • Modify. It could bear noting that the email menu hadn't been changed yet, but as it's written, it's a tad confusing. --TheNintenGenius 14:06, 21 Nov 2004 (MST)
  • Hold until tomorrow. This one is meaningless until the new e-mail comes out, or at least until a full week has gone by. They may be trying to keep the fate of the Compy secret until everyone gets a chance to see the new e-mail. --Jay 14:41, 21 Nov 2004 (MST)
    • Good point. Now it's tomorrow and the fate of the Compy is somewhat established, but because it's not associated with any other e-mail it may as well be noted here, but with a link to a page with the transcript of the new e-mail menu scene. - [[User:furrykef|furrykef (Talk at me)]] 07:41, 22 Nov 2004 (MST)
    • Delete (or at least modify to refer to the new e-mail main page) --Jay 12:16, 22 Nov 2004 (MST)
  • Keep. Worth noting, and not too bad as is. --Paliosun 16:53, 21 Nov 2004 (MST)
  • Decline because it's a little obvious (changing the menu would spoil the surprise) and the fun fact page is already cluttered. - [[User:furrykef|furrykef (Talk at me)]] 18:06, 21 Nov 2004 (MST)
  • Delete. →FireBird
  • Decline. Not fun. - Rainer
  • Move. It's not something I have time or expertise to do right now, but what about creating pages on the menus themselves? This has more to do with the menu than the email. --oddtodd 00:45, 1 Dec 2004 (MST)
  • Rewrite This one is good, just add on to the end that there was a new menu created for the next week, and that after animal was out for a while, the lappy 486 menu was issued. --The Real Zajac 22:30, 4 Dec 2004 (PST)
  • Decline That'd ruin the surprise if they did that. --Clever Ben
  • Comment. This vote appears very confusing, but it looks like a "decline" to me, as half of the votes are decline (meaning that nothing else could get a majority). Nevertheless, I've decided to leave it until a definite voting system is established --MadEwokHerd 17:12, 30 Dec 2004 (MST)

VERDICT: After several weeks of voting, the item was Declined. Moved to Talk:Compy 386 --TheEggman 20:44, 19 Feb 2005 (MST)

Screenshot: NOT from fingers!

The side view doesn't come from fingers. I just watched it, and yes, it does have a side view of the Compy, but he still has the fake fingers during the scene. That screenshot doesn't have the fake fingers and is zoomed out a little. Can somebody find out where it's from? And also once we find out we should change the fun fact on the fingers page that claims that is the only time we see a side view of the Compy.

  • It's a photoshopped shot from fingers. Aurora Szalinski 13:12, 24 Mar 2005 (MST)
That's right. And it looks cool. -- Tom 14:38, 26 Mar 2005 (MST)

Centered Pic

I don't like the centered picture. It moves the text down. I want it to go back to the way it was. Anyone else agree/disagree? -- Joshua 16:46, 24 Apr 2005 (UTC)
