I swear I can't find this on Google, no matter how I word it. How do you add the Homestar system sounds pack to Windows XP?

Current revision as of 12:22, 11 April 2010

Ding! Downloads is a featured article, which means it showcases an important part of the Homestar Runner body of work and/or highlights the fine work of this wiki. We also might just think it's cool. If you see a way this page can be updated or improved without compromising previous work, feel free to contribute.

After looking at the downloads page on the old wiki, I've made the decision to completely redo the Downloads page. The old page makes my eye twitch. -- AgentSeethroo 14:41, 11 Aug 2004 (MST)

Cool. I'm down with that. -- Tom 15:21, 11 Aug 2004 (MST)

Hey do the downloads cost money?

Nope. —FireBird|Talk 18:08, 16 Jun 2005 (UTC)

[edit] External Links - Include Downloads?

I'm not sure where else to put this, but do you think that if a page has either downloads relating to it, i.e. Theme Song Video, downloads inside it, i.e. big white face, or external flash file easter eggs, i.e. Super Kingio Brothers, big white face again, should they be linked to in external links? I've tried it on big white face, and crazy cartoon, but sometimes it looks a bit cluttered. Any opinions on this by anyone else? --videlectrix.pngENUSY discussionitem_icon.gif user.gifmail_icon.gif, 07:20, 15 Mar 2005 (UK time)

Putting them in External Links seems like the best bet. --Upsilon

[edit] How

How do you make the icons accessable?

The Ugly One

[edit] Are you sure?

Are you sure they don't cost money? Because the title page name says:$2.00 service charge!

It's a joke...ha ha ha! a funny one too. ok...they're absolutly free --StrongBad110990 13:44, 7 Oct 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Coach Z?

I think that the card probably belongs to Coach Z considering the whole "Crads" thing. 20X6 GEM

Look on the card. It says "Lem Sportsinterviews." - KookykmanImage:kookysig.gif(t)(c)(r)

[edit] Westminster

Someone on IRC was saying that you used to be able to download Westminster, the Tandy 400 font on this page. Is this true? - KookykmanImage:kookysig.gif(t)(c)(r)

No. They might be confusing this page with a credit card rip off site where the font was once available. -- Tom 22:43, 9 November 2005 (UTC)
yeah, you definately cant. — talk Bubsty edits 18:18, 10 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] New ones EVER?

It's been ages since there's been a new download. Do you guys think there's going to be any more or do you think they're done with it?

well no-name, since they are on a tight schedule, they can't really go around and update every little thing. Take the Museum for assitance. That thing was only updated twice! Sbmaniac 11:29, 18 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Theme Change

How do you change your theme? I'm using XP. Retromaniac 23:15, 10 September 2006 (UTC)

Um, I don't know what that means.... And you still smell like pea soooup! (Seriously, I don't know what a "theme" is in terms of a wiki.) Qermaq - (T/C) Image:Qermaqsigpic.png 23:20, 10 September 2006 (UTC)
You can go to Start -> Control panel -> appearance and themes, and I think it'll come up there. I think that H*R seperates the wallpapers, cursors and stuff, so you might have to change them seperatly, instead of changing the whole theme at once. - link_icon.gifThe Joe(Talk) 23:25, 10 September 2006 (UTC)
Well, if it's an OS-dependent question, it doesn't belong on a wiki-topiced talk. Perhaps post in a OS-related newsgroup, or on a forum dedicated to tthe WXP OS? Qermaq - (T/C) Image:Qermaqsigpic.png 23:45, 10 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Last updated?

Does anybody know when the downloads page was last updated? --Darthmgh 22:28, 19 September 2006 (UTC)

I think it was updated around the same week army was released. — SamSF%20sig.jpgFisher (Come in, Lambert.) 18:42, 19 Septeber 2006

[edit] Are they Free?

Are the downloads free? Maybe we should put this into the article.

Yes, the downloads are free. --videlectrix.pngENUSY discussionitem_icon.gif user.gifmail_icon.gif 18:02, 4 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Downloooooooooooooooaaaaaaaaaaaads!!!!!

For the downloads on, do you really have to pay for them? I was wondering because the ATM machine shows a "balance" and the page title includes "$2:00" service charge.

Drippingyellowmadness CoolS.png talk 14:30, 3 March 2007 (UTC)

Nope. They're free as a bird. -Brightstar Shiner 14:48, 3 March 2007 (UTC)
Nope, they are not. Please make checks payable to: Theyellowdart, Effingham IL. P.O. Box # 234. --TheYellowDart(t/c) 14:52, 3 March 2007 (UTC)

What programs should I use to open the SB clock and Windows 2000 icons? Drippingyellowmadness CoolS.png talk 15:47, 3 March 2007 (UTC)
The clock is a program in itself. Although, I can't help you with the icons. Maybe right-click properties? Bluebry 15:51, 3 March 2007 (UTC)
For the icons, just click "download the set." The clock is just like any other flash movie. - link_icon.gifThe Joe(Talk) 15:56, 3 March 2007 (UTC)
I wouldn't download the screensavers though. They don't always work right. -Brightstar Shiner 16:06, 3 March 2007 (UTC)
The icons are their own file name. ".ico". Once you save them, you see the icons all spread out wherever you saved them at. For Windows, to change an icon, (such as a folder) right click on the file, choose "properties", then click the "customize" tab. Then, click on "change icon", and then choose the directory that you saved the icon files from, then pick an icon. Does this help? --TheYellowDart(t/c) 16:21, 3 March 2007 (UTC)
Are you talking to him or me? -Brightstar Shiner 16:40, 3 March 2007 (UTC)
Dripping Yella. He asked what program to use for icons. ;-) --TheYellowDart(t/c) 17:04, 3 March 2007 (UTC)
Oh. ... Alrighty then. -Brightstar Shiner 18:11, 3 March 2007 (UTC)
