I dunno about the rest of the stuff, but the Gr stuff is basically a separate gag - Not a mispronunciation issue, it seems to be exclusively cheerleader pushing her alleged/failed pormanteau.  A separate gag that deserves to me mentioned somewhere?  I dunno, maybe, but I don't think it really fits here. -132.183.140.236 20:04, 20 November 2009 (UTC)

Seriously?
Seriously?
I mean, normally I would say that having a page dedicated to how many times pizza is used in the cartoons is pointless, but this is seriously the biggest waste of bandwidth I've seen in a long time.  How many people honestly think to themselves, "Gee, I wonder how many times the letter G has been used?!"

:I like the idea of this page. And your argument has been said before. See the topmost section for old arguments. But please, do explain why this page is a waste? And I suggest you work on your wiki edicite, as someone tried (with good reason but still frowned upon as a rule) to remove this. Stealthily yours --Jellote wuz here 22:22, 6 September 2009 (UTC)

::I suggest that you read the article. We have at least three cases where the placement of the letter G is used out of context, making G notable enough for it to have its own article. 22:49, 6 September 2009 (UTC)

I'm sure Marzipan has blinked at least three times in shock, shall I make a page for it?  Also, I couldn't care less about edicite or whatever you wrote. 128.194.22.35

:I believe the word Jellote was trying to use was "etiquette". I.e., I believe he's suggesting you be more polite about how you put things.

:As for this article, I agree with the others that it's good. If this article were merely about documenting the existence of the letter G on the site, it would indeed not be worth having, but it's not. It's about uses of the letter out of any context where it clearly belongs (such as counting to G, G as a healthy piece of real estate and so on). That's interesting and worth having, just as much as when the page was first debated back in aught five. 10:49, 7 September 2009 (UTC)

Homestar bets half a "G"
Is it possible when Homestar bets half a "G" that Strong Bad doesn't make it through SBEmail 200 alive in Place ya bets! that he meant grand?  A grand is 1,000 bucks and a grand is known as "G" slang-wise.  Just figured I'd check first in order to see if the G and Place ya bets! articles need a small adjustment later. --12.132.190.58 17:37, 24 July 2010 (UTC)

:yes. See also further down the page. It's been listed as both of them ever since that toon came out. 17:46, 24 July 2010 (UTC)

-
::Then does Homestar betting half a "G" still need to stay in the G article since Homestar was referencing a grand instead of the letter g? --12.132.190.58 18:01, 24 July 2010 (UTC)

:::See also further down the page (specifically, the fifth one). It's been listed as both of them ever since that toon came out. in other words, yes. besides, there are two items on that list that are less deserving of a place on the G article imo than this. 18:20, 24 July 2010 (UTC)

-
::::besides, who says it can't be both? since that's what's been accepted for almost two years, i see no reason to change it now. 18:24, 24 July 2010 (UTC)

:::::I agree with the anonymous user: it doesn't belong on this page. Just because something has gone unnoticed (or has been accepted) for a long time does not mean it is correct. See the article's first paragraph: "It seems as if when The Brothers Chaps need to pick a letter, G is usually their choice." In this case, the Brothers Chaps are not just "picking a letter," they're using urban slang. I'll repost my edit summary: "I'll take up annony's case: "g" is slang for $1,000. Every time "g" is used in a pecuniary context, it is more accurately a reference to urban slang and not a silly appropriation of the letter "g"." --Garfunkel 18:49, 24 July 2010 (UTC)

-
::::::I've actually tried to use "Just because something has gone unnoticed (or has been accepted) for a long time does not mean it is correct" in talk posts before. i've never been successful at it. as i said earlier, they're referencing both of them. i also believe having it in both places would be the best compromise. 18:57, 24 July 2010 (UTC)

:::::::Hey friend, just because saying that hasn't worked for you before doesn't mean it doesn't make sense. Sometimes this really does happen. --Garfunkel 19:09, 24 July 2010 (UTC)

::::::::Yes, I've also said that if consensus and general acceptance is 100% accurate, then the world is definitely flat. frankly, i don't think we have a consensus here either way. 19:23, 24 July 2010 (UTC)

I think TBC know about the G thing. They could have chosen "Half a grand" instead of G. I believe both explanations are equal, and the reference should stay on the page. 20:35, 24 July 2010 (UTC)

:I disagree. Strong Sad was trying to be cool and slick, and that means saying everything in as cool and slick way possible. I really think it doesn't fit. 21:47, 24 July 2010 (UTC)
