Current revision as of 22:56, 9 February 2010

Ding! Marshie is a featured article, which means it showcases an important part of the Homestar Runner body of work and/or highlights the fine work of this wiki. We also might just think it's cool. If you see a way this page can be updated or improved without compromising previous work, feel free to contribute.

[edit] Smilin' Star

I apologize if this question is completely stupid, but...who thinks Marshie may be a jab at the Carl's Jr/Hardee's "smiling star" logo?

Yeah, I definitely see the resemblance. I'd never seen a Carl's Jr before I went to California and my first thought was "holy crap, it's Marshie!" I added the similarity to the page. Mister Mister 22:09, 5 Dec 2004 (MST)

[edit] Marshie Shmellow?

Yeah, I think what we have here is a marshemellow family. Mr. Shmellow, the dad, then Marshie Shmellow and little brother Nibbles Shmellow. (from bottom 10) You think? --NERD42  email  talk   h²g²  pedia  uncyc  19:11, 9 February 2006 (UTC)

Possibly. Bluebry 16:31, 19 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Is marshie immortal?

If any of you saw the easter egg at the end of ol' sbemail 149 (candy product), then you can see that marshie was almost killed and turned into vapor. He says "you can't destroyyyy meeeee!" What, is he like, immortal? HRfan222

As Marshie is (by all appearances, except possibly one) an advertising mascot and not a "real" character, I don't think speculation on his "mortality" is really in the scope of discussion here. Qermaq - (T/C) Image:Qermaqsigpic.png 10:07, 17 November 2006 (UTC)
And, i was only kidding when i added "Why, yes i am User:Marshie". RocketMasterZ 12:59, 17 November 2006 (UTC)
Also, Marshie was not killed. We don't know how he got to the state of vapor. He probably knows that vapor cannot be moved and if someone, we'll say someone shot a bullet at vapor, it would just go right through him, stating that being immortal is necessary because he IS immortal, he cannot, as said, be destroyed. [edit] Demonic Marshie

Hi, It's dot com! I was just wondering why you changed Demonic Marshie to a redirect. Can you fill in? Thanks a bunch! — Seriously (Talk) 17:18, 7 May 2006 (UTC)

That variation of Marshie is not a separate character. It's just Marshie with a creepier voice. It doesn't need a whole page. — It's dot com 17:28, 7 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Unevil!

I think Marshie isn't evil. Maybe him being labled as a "bad guy" was a mistake made in Strong Bad's video. Plus, I think his demonic voice is just his halloween voice. Do you agree?

no-someone that's not a user and sucks at spelling, but comes here anyways.

I dunno when this discussion was made, presumably long ago, but the whole "Evil" section seems to be speculation to me, and the evidence given for it seem somewhat.. irrelevant. DAGRON 01:36, 3 December 2007 (UTC)

By the way, aren't some of the descriptions given to marshie technically POV?DAGRON 01:04, 10 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] New Picture

I think a picture of the huge fat Marshie from the Retirement email should be added. — CTH-I (Talk | contribs) 21:16, 13 October 2006 (left unsigned)

We certainly do have enough Marshie pics for a gallery... --DorianGray

[edit] Mom-shie?

The reaction to Marshie's mom, "Just walk away, mother..." kinda hints to me that the eeeeevil mascot had problems with his mother. It makes me think of the Police's song Mother. All about a guy who's driven crazy because his mother won't leave him alone.

[edit] Redirect

This discussion was moved here from Talk:marshie before that page was turned into a redirect to this one:
I know that this is a filename redirect, but think what would happen if someone wanted to see the page for Marshie, yet they were feeling lazy (as I often am). They type in "marshie", expecting to see the chraracter, and they are led to the toon Meet Marshie. I think that this has more problems than advantages, as most people (including me) type with all lowercase letters when searching. Has Matt? (talk) 15:54, 19 March 2006 (UTC)
Yeah, I needed Marshie, but typed in "marshie", and got to Meet Marshie. I just think that "marshie" is closer to Marshie than Meet Marshie is. Bluebry 15:58, 19 March 2006 (UTC)
What about making the page a disambiguation (sp?) page like sbemail100? --videlectrix.pngENUSY discussionitem_icon.gif user.gifmail_icon.gif 16:03, 19 March 2006 (UTC)
Agree. Bluebry 16:05, 19 March 2006 (UTC)
I vote for a flat redirect to Marshie - my idea when making the filename redirects is "only if they don't get in the way" - I already avoided making them at fhqwhgads (for Everybody to the Limit) and similar places - I just missed this one (mea culpa). If they really want Meet Marshie they can click the link on Marshie. --phlip TC 16:13, 19 March 2006 (UTC)
Not that I don't agree with you, Phlip, but there isn't a link to Meet Marshie on Marshie's page. Just letting you know. Has Matt? (talk) 16:18, 19 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] this, that, and fifty-thousand other things

So i tried to remove a bunch of stuff that seems to me to clearly be TTATOT to the highest level, and i got reverted.
