fun facts - real world references

I'm almost positive the animation of The Cheat dancing on Homestarrunner's face is a reference to Snoopy dancing on Shroeder's piano in the old Peanuts specials. If you go to this page http://www.whatacharacter.com/p-s/s--page1.htm and look at the pic of Snoopy dancing (on the box) you'll see what I mean. -Amar

The hot soup reference that you all keep deleting is DEFINITELY a reference to Oz. Look it up at the links I have provided. This is a legitiate reference and should be maintaned, not just deleted arbitrarially because BazookaJoe (age 17) hasn't seen the R-Rated show.

I haven't seen the show either. And I don't think The Brothers Chaps are making a reference to a particular instance of prison violence that appeared on a particular television episode of a particular television show. -- Tom 02:47, 13 Sep 2005 (UTC)

hip hop dance

shouldn't hip hop dance be on this page, not a seperate one?

No single guy

On the one hand, I agree with Mr. IP that the fact is a bit wordy on a subject that has little to do with H*R. On the other hand, I recognize that the point is that SB implies that just one person writes the Lockhorns when that's not the case. Thoughts? --Jay (Talk) 23:08, 5 Jul 2005 (UTC)

Interestingly, The Lockhorns has actually been authored by three different people over the years.

This particular fun fact has been in this article for over fifteen months with the current (or very similar) wording. Thousands of others have not had a problem with it. It clearly supplies detailed and accurate information about something that was in the toon. Why change it? -- Tom 03:07, 6 Jul 2005 (UTC)

Strong Bad miniature's head

Boots reverse during The Cheat's hip-hop dance

I'm surprised this wasn't mentioned in the Fun Facts for this cartoon: When The Cheat starts dancing on Homestar's face, his sprite (including the boots) flips horizontally, causing the dollar signs on the boots to appear backwards.

Actually, we decided not to note some similar precedents; e.g. every character's face essentially reverses its order when they turn their head around (see speculations about whether Homestar Runner and The Cheat have two eyes on one side of their head, a total of four eyes, movable eyes.... (sigh.) I don't feel strongly enough about it to take your fact down, but don't be hurt if someone does. —AbdiViklas 18:49, 10 October 2005 (UTC)

Actually, this one is okay to note, though. We generally note such things for Powered by The Cheat cartoons, as it's probably deliberate, as an example of bad Flash animation. --DorianGray

Does anyone else think that PBTC Homestar's line "Dang The Cheat, I like your boots!" is a reference to Homestar's line "Dang Strong Bad, I like your boots!" in extra plug? - LAZOR Leave a message. {beep}

Well, we decided at one point to merge the two pages and make it count as one toon. So, while it IS a toon within a toon, it's not a toon in itself. Bluebry 02:19, 4 April 2007 (UTC)

Another piece of proof that they are not two separate toons would be that if you roll over New Boots in the menu it plays a clip of Hip Hop Dance, meaning they are counting that clip as part of New Boots. But that's just me. Bad Bad Guy 18:21, 5 April 2007 (UTC)

Giving a chance to do a hip hop dance

Since I do not feel that those who thought Hip Hop Dance deserved a separate article had a long enough chance to talk, I will start a discussion on whether or not the articles should be split. I do not think they should be split because Hip Hop Dance is not stored in a separate .html file and because of that other thing I said about the toons preview.
