Mr. Grave?

I think it's debatable that this guy's name is Unmarked Grave. It's entirely possible that the words "unmarked grave" were simply there to show that his name was not marked on the grave. (I will concede, though, that he is most likely the son of Mark Grave, since that's what the tombstone states.) --Upsilon

I think his name probably IS Unmarked Grave as he is the 1936 version of Bubs who works in a concession stand that is marked with his full name "Bubs Concession Stand."--Bluewings23 15:23, 26 Jul 2005 (UTC)

This is such a fun (if macabre) moment of H*R, I'm going to deconstruct it for no good reason. While seemingly simple, the "unmarked grave" scene can produce complicated (and needless) interpretations. An actual unmarked grave would not literally say "unmarked grave" on it (to the best of my knowledge). But, since this is H*R, it would make more sense to have an unmarked grave with writing on it. This being said, whoever is buried in the gravesite is the son of Mark Grave - unless you want to make a huge leap of logic and consider the grave itself could be named "Unmarked" and its father (remember, this is H*R) was "Mark". This would make some sense because 1936 Bubs, who is buried there, is not quite dead yet, so no one is really buried in the ground. This is consisent with another grave of Cholera Acres - Sickly Sam has been burying himself alive in the gravesite of Eustace Pietimer. So perhaps 1936 Bubs and Sickly Sam, for reasons unknown, have made a habit out of burying themselves in other's graves. Does it make sense? No. Is it funny? Yes. So, in conclusion, whether he's Unmarked Grave, the Guy in the Depot or 1936 Bubs, it's all very, very funny. --The Smoking Monkey 13:42, 7 Aug 2005 (UTC)

Name

Why don't we call this guy "1936 Bubs"? "The Guy at the Depot" isn't a very good name. Sure, they don't call him Bubs, but(before his true name, 1-Up, was revealed) 20x6 Homestar has never been addressed as "Homestar" and yet we called him Homestar, as opposed to "Stinkoman's Friend" or something. Any other thoughts on this subject?

Yeah, I've always disliked the name "The Guy at the Depot" too. 1936 Bubs does sound like a much better name. --Upsilon

Blind?

Should it be mentioned that Old-Timey Bubs is presumably blind? Circa 1936, the dark glasses and tin cup full of pencils would have been symbols of blindness. Wear a Bikini 18:41, 14 August 2007 (UTC)

Blind? More like a lack of EYESIGHT...

Old-Timey Bubs appears to be based on the Bubs design eventually cast for Original Bubs, which would explain why O.B. boasts about his eyesight in original. Is it obvious enough, or too questionable to be reported on the page? At least, questionably so?
