Bubs' "Anything Goes!" Sausage

From what I can tell, Bubs grinds the following into sausage:

It's me!(Jessica U. Ingmann)It's Strong Sad! <3 21:00, 28 May 2007 (UTC)

Yes, that looks right. It's definitely a tennis ball, though. — Lapper (talk) 21:06, 28 May 2007 (UTC)
I can confirm that it is a tennis ball. – The Chort 21:08, 28 May 2007 (UTC)
Concur. It's the Super Question Machine. --DorianGray 21:10, 28 May 2007 (UTC)

New "Game"!

Is there some sort of "minor games" page I could put the last part on?Pixelated Magic 21:40, 28 May 2007 (UTC)

It would be listed under Games#Toon Games, but I really don't think this qualifies as a game. — Lapper (talk) 21:08, 28 May 2007 (UTC)
Why not? Homestar Runner and Marzipan Extra Real Dating Sim XR does. Qermaq - (T/C) Image:Qermaqsigpic.png 21:12, 28 May 2007 (UTC)
That game is in a separate Flash file. Loafing 21:24, 28 May 2007 (UTC)
Ok, let's try... Homestar's "Sid" Game. Qermaq - (T/C) Image:Qermaqsigpic.png 21:32, 28 May 2007 (UTC)
But that's a game. This is more of an activity. --Gooblies 21:36, 28 May 2007 (UTC)
Or a goings-on. 194.80.32.10 22:30, 28 May 2007 (UTC)
Well, this has to go somewhere. Pixelated Magic 21:40, 28 May 2007 (UTC)
It feels a bit too late to say this, but when the toon appeared on the site, the ending linked to a separate page for the MixMastah. It still exists. So, it has its own Flash file. 70.244.56.152 21:50, 28 May 2007 (UTC)
Sweet! Never too late to say something like that :-) Loafing 22:06, 28 May 2007 (UTC)
I would say Audition with Marzipan is in the same vein, and that's considered a game, though I guess there's an interactive element since there's some kind of feedback. I guess it's an activity as much as the Limozeen Coloring Book is... maybe a new category is in order? Nynexman4464 00:35, 29 May 2007 (UTC)
If this is a game, wouldn't The House That Gave Sucky Treats also be a game? It's interactive in the same way. Hagurumon 00:38, 29 May 2007 (UTC)
Hmmm... maybe it is... but then so would be Halloween Potion-ma-jig... and Marzipan's Answering Machine has buttons, so that's a game, and then sbemails have easter eggs, those are like a game 8-|. So yeah, maybe calling it a game would be a bad idea ;-). Nynexman4464 01:26, 29 May 2007 (UTC)
If you ask me, no, this is a short and not a game, but if we have a separate page for just the lone MixMastah 800 link, I'd say that could count as a game. Hagurumon 02:24, 29 May 2007 (UTC)
I say that while One Two, One Two is a short, the MixMasta is a game. It's got its own page and everything. Isaac Smith (T · C) 23:00, 29 May 2007 (UTC)

"One Two" MP3

The file does not exist as of now, and takes you to the classic "404ed!" page. --MadShrubbery 21:53, 28 May 2007 (UTC)

When you say 'as of now', do you mean that one did exist but doesn't any more, or that one doesn't exist yet? Kahteh 08:09, 29 May 2007 (UTC)
There never was one. --DorianGray 08:27, 29 May 2007 (UTC)
When I made the comment, there was a link on the main article page linking to a MP3. --MadShrubbery ~~
Yes, there was a link, but there never was an mp3 (for One Two) for download on homstarrunner.com. That's why the link was promptly removed. Loafing 09:33, 29 May 2007 (UTC)
OK, that makes sense. Kahteh 09:43, 29 May 2007 (UTC)

Makin' it Rain

Just thinkin' that Pom Pom's animation reminds me of the practice of "Makin' it rain" as frequently seen in rap music videos. This is especially topical, as Adam "Pacman" Jones, cornerback for the Tennessee Titans, was seen doing this very act in a strip club, and it lead to a shooting that left a bouncer paralyzed, and Jones suspended for a year from the NFL. -Telamon

I'm no wikipenian, but I came in here to say what he said /\. Definitly a real world reference.
I third this as a real world reference
I think it most likely is a reference to "Makin' It Rain", but not to that specific incident. Hagurumon 02:22, 29 May 2007 (UTC)
That's probally true. Anyone know if there's a similar shot in the video? I don't watch that MTV crap71.255.87.112 04:45, 30 May 2007 (UTC)

MixMasta 800, Now in Monorual!

Is it just me, or is the MixMasta 800, despite havin' Left an' Right pan sliders, only play in monorual? It's me!(Jessica U. Ingmann)It's Strong Sad! <3 22:34, 28 May 2007 (UTC)

The stereo sound works for me. What kind of speakers are you using? --Jay (Talk) 22:36, 28 May 2007 (UTC)
Crappy, generic ones that I love to death? Stereo ones, though! Lemme check again... I know it wasn't workin' earlier. Like, back when th' "Again?" button was there. *checks* ...ah. Crappy, broken ones I love to death that aren't giving me stereo sound anymore. ...crap... It's me!(Jessica U. Ingmann)It's Strong Sad! <3 22:55, 28 May 2007 (UTC)
Addendum! I got my speakers fixed! It was just a loose connection, turns out. Sorry about that, folks! And the page is indeed in stereo. It's me!(Jessica U. Ingmann)It's Strong Sad! <3 23:00, 28 May 2007 (UTC)

Canibus reference?

Rapper Canibus recently launched the Poet Laureate Infinity (www.poetlaureateinfinity.com) site, allowing people to mix the vocals and beats from one of his new songs. Very similar to this toon. Coincidence, or not?

Coincidence. A lot of people do that. Hagurumon 23:52, 28 May 2007 (UTC)

Big Fun

Did anyone else think that the MixMasta800 was a lot more fun than it a simple SFX mini-game should have been? Also(on a completely unrelated subject) this hasn't been added to the "TV Time Toons Menu" yet (I would link, but why bother? All of us know it). Does it(this short) link from the main page? Stinkoblade 01:03, 29 May 2007 (UTC)

It is linked from the What's New? oval button, yes. It just hasn't been added to the toons menu. --DorianGray 01:06, 29 May 2007 (UTC)

Good to know. Now to ponder if it is a goof worthy of addition to da page...or just the fact they are probably working on a long toon and didn't remember to add it. Maybe the new sbemail even. Anyway, I'm still wondering about the funitude of the MixMasta. Stinkoblade 01:12, 29 May 2007 (UTC)

"Funitude" is usually a great topic for the Forum rather than the Talk page, which is generally reserved for discussing the article about the toon rather than the toon itself. Qermaq - (T/C) Image:Qermaqsigpic.png 07:55, 29 May 2007 (UTC)

BPM

I dunno if this is worthy of inclusion in the article or not, but just by recording the samples and looking for the loop points, it looks like most of the samples are in the area of 9.164 seconds long. Taking each of Homestar's one twos as a beat, that's 16 beats per sample. So 104.757 BPM, for all of waiting to do a techno remix. Nynexman4464 01:31, 29 May 2007 (UTC)

Wow, thats actually kinda...slow. It seems faster when you mix them, but...wow. Stinkoblade 01:34, 29 May 2007 (UTC)

HomSo-NOT-lo

It's way too big of a stretch to assume HOMSOLO is a reference to Han Solo and not simply an abbrieviation of "Homsar Solo". --Taranch Vamp 22:11, 29 May 2007 (CST)

I think it is a to much of a stretch but its good that someone here has loyalty to sw not just sb - The coolest cat around

Well, what'd you expect with the Star Wars 30th anniversary going on? Anyway, THis "Homsolo" thing may well be vague and coincidental. --Addict 2006 13:47, 29 May 2007 (UTC)
I'ma be BRAVE and take it out. This is a stretch of epic proportions. --BigScaryMike (Talk/Contrib) 04:30, 29 May 2007 (UTC)
I was only brave for a moment. Once I took it out, I reconsidered. It's certainly possible! --BigScaryMike (Talk/Contrib) 04:49, 29 May 2007 (UTC)
Everything's possible. I took it out again. Danny Lilithborne 05:27, 29 May 2007 (UTC)
I'm the person that put it there in the first place. I wasn't sure about it, but I thought I would put it in anyway. It does sound pretty similar. Idk. I've never even seen Star Wars and that's what I first thought of. I have a half a mind to STUFF this, but the other half knows I've never STUFF'd something before and don't know how to. What should be done, then? CompGrl323 (talk · edits) 23:14, 29 May 2007 (UTC)
I'd say let's keep discussing it here until more people show strong support for it; right now, it looks like both you and Mike are unsure about it. But if some people come around and feel strongly about it, then STUFFing is the way to go. Trey56 23:21, 29 May 2007 (UTC)

I thought it was obviously a reference to Han Solo - after all, it's only one phoneme away. Plus we just had the 30th anniversary of Ep IV so a Star Wars reference right now would make sense. 71.165.55.159 09:07, 30 May 2007 (UTC)

Nay, i say. Just a coincidence. The preceding comment was unsigned.

Well, I end this with saying: any similarity to characters, whether real or fictional, is purely coincidental. Or at least this is what I kinda remember. --Addict 2006 22:43, 30 May 2007 (UTC)

Peter Gunn

The first few notes of Marzipan's guitar riff remind me of the Peter Gunn theme. Anyone else hearing this? - Ugliness Man 03:05, 29 May 2007 (UTC)

Yes it is very similar, but i'm not sure its noteworthy -JamesDean 05:04, 29 May 2007 (UTC)

Strong Sad's segment

Every fourth loop on the MixMastah 800, the sound Strong Sad makes when he hits his stomach is different from the previous three loops. Is anyone else hearing this? Hagurumon 03:08, 29 May 2007 (UTC)

Yes, it is slightly different, it sounds as if the basketball is being bounced a little further away -JamesDean 05:06, 29 May 2007 (UTC)

Freakin' Browser Issues

uch, i can't get the poopsmith, pom pom, homsar or strong bad effect to play when i play the short in firefox, and when i play it in internet explorer some of the effects don't sync up. is anyone else getting this? --Zatchman 03:37, 29 May 2007 (UTC)

on second thought, never mind IE, it's ok --Zatchman 03:44, 29 May 2007 (UTC)

Hmm... Is Flash updated? If Flash refusing to load on Firefox? Close all tabs, restart the browser, and try again. No really - it might happen to me. But it hasn't. --Addict 2006 03:53, 29 May 2007 (UTC)

The thing is - you have to click Strong Bad's singing a bit early for it to work sync up. --Addict 2006 03:54, 29 May 2007 (UTC)

Exactly... think of it this way, in the phrase "I'm a woman on the prowl...", the word "woman" falls on the first beat of the bar, so you have to time it so that the "I'm a" part falls on one of Homestar's "two"s. So it's like "one, two, one, I'm a..." - Ugliness Man 04:18, 29 May 2007 (UTC)

Homsar Hat Screensaver

Does the motion of Homsar's hat recall the "Flying Objects" screensaver for Windows to anyone else? - ReverendTed 05:11, 29 May 2007 (UTC)

Not really. Homsar's hat randomly flies around the area most of the time. -Itama 05:33, 29 May 2007 (UTC)
I don't think it's that random, though - it lifts off his head and then heads diagonally to the corner, where it bounces against the edges of the screen at 90-degree angles (except for the last one which is a bit more obtuse), like the objects in the aforementioned screensaver. - ReverendTed 06:01, 29 May 2007 (UTC)
Sounds likely, considering that the background he is against very closely resembles another popular Windows screensaver. 220.239.200.215 11:55, 29 May 2007 (UTC)
I'd say it's a stretch. While the actual movement of Homsar's hat wasn't random, the fact that it was reflecting off the walls was. His hat does stuff like that all the time. Plus those "zipping through space" screensavers tend to have objects flying past the viewer, rather than reflecting around. - Joshua 18:19, 29 May 2007 (UTC)
That's why he described the background as "another popular screensaver", a connection I hadn't immediately noticed. Now that he mentions it, it looks to me like Homsar's solo references both the "Starfield" screensaver and the "Flying Objects" screensaver. - ReverendTed 04:11, 30 May 2007 (UTC)

Cartoon Listing

The fact that the toon is listed on the main page only and not the toon page should be removed, IMO, because that's true of every new toon that's released for about a week...unless listing this fact and then taking it down later is the common policy and I'm not aware of it.

Actually, most toons ARE listed at the time of their release. That's where we get titles from, usually. --DorianGray 06:29, 29 May 2007 (UTC)

Knocking on the fourth wall

Would you consider Strong Bad tapping on the screen breaking the fourth wall? Yo yo mom

He doesn't tap on the screen, he taps on the brush/microphone. Why would he ask if the screen was broken? Has Matt? (talk) 11:58, 29 May 2007 (UTC)
I don't... ugh. Nevermind. — Yo yo mom (Talk | contribs) 12:21, 29 May 2007 (UTC) (left unsigned)
I didn't read this thread before I made my change, but I think it looks and sounds like he's tapping the shower door (note that there was a foggable shower door in the very similar bathroom in Main Page 14). The noise is a hollow one that I wouldn't expect from a brush.
I see that the sound effect note in the subtitles says, "microphone tapping sounds", which is plausible, but I still think it looks like he's tapping the door. For now, I'll change it back, then... Trey56 13:18, 29 May 2007 (UTC)
He's tapping the brush as though it were a microphone because he's seeking to blame his poor singing on a broken microphone. It fits in well with "I need to get the acoustics checked in here".· · T2|Things 13:22, 29 May 2007 (UTC)
I think that's possible, but the phrase, "the acoustics in here" refers to the way the sound bounces of the walls, not whether the sound equipment works. Trey56 13:26, 29 May 2007 (UTC)
I know that, but what I mean is that Strong Bad is seeking to find a cause for the poor sound quality, thus blaming both the acoustics AND the sound equipment.· · T2|Things 13:29, 29 May 2007 (UTC)
It definitely sounds more like tapping on a live mic than tapping on a glass door (it kinda also sounds like it might be tapping on wood, but I don't know of many transparent wood products... live mic is more likely). The angle of his fist as he taps the brush is odd, he's tapping it with the side of his fist, but if you frame-by-frame it, it's clear it's moving left/right, not forward/back. --phlip TC 13:45, 29 May 2007 (UTC)
I saw it a second time, and now I know what you mean. Sorry. These toons take forever to get. Yo yo mom
Additionally, it would be rather strange to have a glass shower door AND a shower curtain. - ReverendTed 04:07, 30 May 2007 (UTC)

What about when he shouted for the Homsar Solo, since Homsar obviously wasn't in the shower with him or anything...? So I assume to must have known about the music video going on. - Joshua 18:16, 29 May 2007 (UTC)

It's possible that they were collaborating on this together with the Cheat publishing it. They could have known it was a music video. -Itama 20:39, 29 May 2007 (UTC)
It isn't PbtC - Apparently they actually would have recorded "footage" and edited them together, in this case. --Addict 2006 01:01, 30 May 2007 (UTC)

I'm sure that when I first watched the toon, SB made the sound of tapping the monitor, because I immediately thought of it as a fourth-wall joke. I just watched it again and the sound has changed so it sounds like he's tapping a mic, but the way his hand moves, it looks like he's tapping the monitor. 71.165.55.159 09:01, 30 May 2007 (UTC)

Holy crap, I can't believe the captcha on this site - I can't read them 80% of the time (so yes, it takes me 5 tries to get it right). Screw this noise.
Yes, it's really annoying. You should create an account, then it'll go away ;-) Loafing 09:04, 30 May 2007 (UTC)

I must admit that at first I thought it was the shower door or something, but I'm pretty sure it was meant to be the brush we was tapping, because you can kinda see how he would be singing into the 'microphone'. Homsar Solo was my favorite part! -User: Sb100

real world ref?

when I saw that segment of SB sining in the shower, I thought he was singing a song from the 90's (AaAaAaAaAaAaA) and anutha thing, the animation has REALLY improved!

What he's singing is every female rocker song ever made in the 90's. Simple as that. 71.231.56.40 19:31, 29 May 2007 (UTC)

Pink Floyd

Anyone else think of “The Great Gig in the Sky” when Homsar’s doing his vocal solo? No? Then maybe I’m just crazy...—S*R 14:05, 29 May 2007 (UTC)

That's a great song, but I don't think there's enough to pin it as a reference. Trey56 16:22, 29 May 2007 (UTC)

Not a "Remark"

The following Remark should be a Goof:

  • The toon is only linked on the main page, not in the toons menu.

Supuhstar* Image:Supuhstar(SupuhSmall).gif

Nah, it's a remark. 71.231.56.40 16:34, 29 May 2007 (UTC)

Now it's not anything. Coz it's not true any longer. --DorianGray 19:08, 29 May 2007 (UTC)
Ok, I agree w/ whoever 71.231.56.40 is, so I think it shouild be revized to say:
  • Until around 19:00, 29 May 2007 (UTC), the toon was only linked on the main page, not in the toons menu.
Supuhstar* Image:Supuhstar(SupuhSmall).gif
Well, TBC get to decide where to list stuff; there's no rule they must list things at all. (Missing Lappy is still not listed anywhere, if I'm not mistaken.) So it's no goof for sure. Qermaq - (T/C) Image:Qermaqsigpic.png 22:26, 29 May 2007 (UTC)
I agree — not a goof; they just hadn't gotten around to adding it yet. Trey56 22:41, 29 May 2007 (UTC)

Easter Egg

I don't really think that the Mix Mastah is a Easter Egg. The link says "Mix Your Own Style." I think that if I was on a website, and it said that, I would think that I would be able to do what it says.

It's an easter egg for lack of anything better to call it. — Defender1031*Talk 20:20, 29 May 2007 (UTC)
It might make sense to put it under Remarks instead, alongside the one that says it originally went right to it instead of clicking a link. -Itama 20:43, 29 May 2007 (UTC)
I moved that to trivia actually, and it's got to be somewhere more immediate than that. Hence, easter eggs. — Defender1031*Talk 20:45, 29 May 2007 (UTC)
Easter eggs are found, either by clicking something, or by waiting a long while after the toon (a "waiting" egg). This falls into neither category, so I don't believe it's correctly an Easter egg. Think: what do you do to get Easter eggs? You hunt for them. If there's no hunt, it isn't an Easter egg. Qermaq - (T/C) Image:Qermaqsigpic.png 22:28, 29 May 2007 (UTC)
I agree completely. I moved it up into the transcript. — It's dot com 22:30, 29 May 2007 (UTC)

I seem to remember that when I saw this toon for the first time the end did a redirect to the MixMastah. Did this ever happen or did I just click on it and not realize it? —NFITC1talk 13:21, 30 May 2007 (UTC)

Yeah, that's what happened when it was first released, but they later changed it to a link. See One Two, One Two#Trivia. Has Matt? (talk) 13:34, 30 May 2007 (UTC)

MixMastah fun facts

Shouldn't the MixMastah 800 facts be split off into that page? — It's dot com 22:55, 29 May 2007 (UTC)

Page Title

Should we mention the Page Title from the MixMastah 800, "You ARE the Mix Mastah!" ? TheCoolBot 00:40, 29 May 2007 (UTC)

Wait a minute!

In Homestar's part, we see his legs bend upwards in his "shirt" and we can't see his botto. But when he is naked and gets pixelated, his body is the exacvt same height as his shirt. Whassup wit dat? -Lopears

It was either done on purpose or it's just a cartoon and you probably shouldn't worry about it. — Defender1031*Talk 10:27, 30 May 2007 (UTC)

Unlinked on toons menu

Until around 19:00, 29 May 2007 (UTC), the toon was only linked on the main page, not in the toons menu.

Could this be worded better? Is it even that notable? It's not the first time something like this has happened, nor do I expect it to be the last. — It's dot com 14:59, 30 May 2007 (UTC)

I agree. decline — Defender1031*Talk 15:05, 30 May 2007 (UTC)
I also agree. I don't think it's notable that it took them slightly more than a day to post a link on the Toons menu. If several weeks had passed and they still had not updated it, chances are they had not intended to put it on the Toons menu at all or they had just completely forgotten about it, which would make it notable. But the fact that they did update it relatively close to the time they posted the toon leads me to believe that this does not deserve inclusion in the article. Has Matt? (talk) 15:08, 30 May 2007 (UTC)
What MATT said, plus the fact that in that time they fixed a lot of other goofs. — Defender1031*Talk 15:13, 30 May 2007 (UTC)

Playing Carol

When Carol is being played, all 6 strings are seen vibrating, but only one tone is produced. In addition, the entire strings are vibrating, showing that there is no fingerings are being made on the fretboard. Even if all strings are tuned to the same note, this is very unlikely to be physically possible.

I moved this here because it seemed sort of true and kind of interesting but too nitpicky for the article, especially given everything else we see that is impossible but that we accept at face value because it's a cartoon. — It's dot com 21:22, 30 May 2007 (UTC)

Actually, all the strings could be sympathetically vibrating along, and even the part of the string between Marzipan's "finger" and the nut could sympathetically vibrate. That's a pretty stretchy explanation, but it is one. Sure, the vibrations would be less visible, but hey, it's a cartoon, and we already know the laws of physics are different in FCUSA. Qermaq - (T/C) Image:Qermaqsigpic.png 21:27, 30 May 2007 (UTC)
As the creator of the fact, maybe it could be cut down to just the first sentence to be less-nitpicky and anti-suspension-of-disbelief-ish. Does that sound good? -AtionSong 21:44, 30 May 2007 (UTC)

Clarification (comment on the content)

Originally, the toon and the game were separate Flash files - they were never put together in one single file. The toon originally probably had the game embedded in it - there was no page redirect. This rant is done. --Addict 2006 22:41, 30 May 2007 (UTC)
