I wasn't sure which running gags category to put this in. Word-related seemed the best of the available choices, but I didn't think it was a very good fit at the time. — It's dot com 00:45, 5 August 2006 (UTC)

I don't think it's a running gag at all. It's a repeated reference to pi, but there's no joke. Loafing 01:21, 5 August 2006 (UTC)
Then is it an inside joke? --Trogga 01:38, 5 August 2006 (UTC)
It's a running gag because it keeps showing up where it doesn't belong. Pi dollars for an album? TGS issue pi? It's made enough appearances to warrant a page. It's probably also an inside joke, since we don't know why they think it's funny. — It's dot com 04:58, 5 August 2006 (UTC)
Oh, I do think this deserves its own page, had even thought about creating the page myself. But I'm not too sure about the funniness. Yeah, $pi and issue "3.14159265and the rest", that's funny in a geeky kinda way ;-) It's just not a running gag in my book, because the only connection between those two is the number pi, and that one's not inherently funny. Anyway, I'm not going to squabble over this, just wanted to voice my concerns. If you do want to stick in in a running gag category, then I can't really see one that fits well. Maybe a new one? Number-related? Geek-related? Misc? Loafing 05:27, 5 August 2006 (UTC)
Loafing: see HRWiki:RG. We're working on that. In the meantime that will do. Elcool (talk)(contribs) 06:36, 5 August 2006 (UTC)

Pi/Pie

Ok, what's the connection between pi and pie? I looked for an instance when they were confused or a play was done on one to mean the other, and turned nothing up. Other than "they are homophones", what is the H*R-related connection? Qermaq - (T/C) Image:Qermaqsigpic.png 17:38, 5 August 2006 (UTC)

Someone may be looking for the page Pie and may end up here. --Trogga 17:44, 5 August 2006 (UTC)
That's not a case, though, for a "see also" link. That implies a stronger connection. What you're trying to do is more like disambiguation. And I'm not really sure it's necessary here - are there any people who really think the foodstuff is spelled "pi"? If so, I'd argue they need some remedial spelling lessons which are beyond the scope of this article. Qermaq - (T/C) Image:Qermaqsigpic.png 17:48, 5 August 2006 (UTC)
