Okay, I just rewatched [[Pumpkin Carve-nival]], and I even recorded Homestar's line for good measure, and the inflection in the two lines are COMPLETELY different. Honestly, listen to this [http://filebin.ca/ybzhqj] and then to this [http://filebin.ca/dwuuwd] and tell me what, besides the words, they have in common. In Pumpkin Carve-nival, Homestar puts more emphasis on "get" then he does here, his tone is much much MUCH lower, and also he's a lot more smooth (If you open the .OGGs with Audacity and look at the two tracks, the one from Pumkin Stencils has more peaks than the other). I think we should remove the inside reference to [[Pumpkin Carve-nival]]. --{{User:Super Martyo Brother/sig}} 23:33, 12 October 2009 (UTC)

:True, it's not a direct re-use of the old sound byte with the last two words altered, but it sounds like this is what they were going for. Given the other connections (haloween, pumpkin carving, etc.) i think it's strong enough for a reference. {{User:DeFender1031/sig}} 23:59, 12 October 2009 (UTC)

who ever wrote this article didn't write ''how'' to get the devil Homestar carving, someone should add that in. I just want approval before I add said fact in. --{{User:Platinum789hi/sig}} 00:38, 13 October 2009 (UTC)

Geez. My Homestar pumpakin looks nothing like it's suppos' to. -- FireBird

How da heck are you supposed to use this thing? 209.221.24.157 21:46, 24 Oct 2004 (MST)

Measure your pumpkin and decide how big you can/want to make the carving. Make sure you leave an inch or two on the edge so your pumpkin (in my case, a Cheat O' Lantern!) is stable. Then size the stencil to your measurements and trace the stencil - I used a thick-bladed knife to cut out the stencil while pressed against the pumpkin (thick blade so you can see the cuts). Do the normal pumpkin carving stuff, cut the topp off and clean 'er out. Then cut all the way through your stencil tracings and you've got an H*R Pumpakin! --Southpaw018 21:58, 24 Oct 2004 (MST)

I was asking about the applet; I've got it figgered out now, though. I think it doesn't work in Mozilla, because when I do that, it automatically jumps to a blank sheet diagram, and none of the buttons work. It works in IE. 209.221.24.143 14:34, 25 Oct 2004 (MST)

I got it fine with Firefox. Of course, my pukpkin doesn't look that fine. -- FireBird

Can somebody please tell me hw to get here from the actual website (homestarrunner.com)? --Darklinkskywalker 18:36, 25 Jun 2005 (UTC)

It's not on there anymore. It used to be linked from the main page on "What's new?" Last Halloween.--DumDe 11:03, 6 Jul 2005 (UTC)

Ohhhhhhhh.. so it's a secret page. In that case, Im'a go add it to thhe secret pages list now. --Darklinkskywalker 21:19, 9 Jul 2005 (UTC)

Sigh if only i had pumpkins to carve if only i coulc celebrate halloween--Ed500 12:34, 19 October 2005 (UTC)

Hey, can anybody tell me what the Homestar Running, The Cheat, and Homestar's face o' lanterns look like, and which one they would reccomend? --אוקאלייליי (Ookelaylay)

Lights off!

Is it just me or does pressing Ctrl-L seem to turn out the lights so that you can see the jack o'lanterns lit up in all their glory?

Yep, true that. I just added it to the Easter eggs section. Elcool (talk)(contribs) 16:15, 17 October 2005 (UTC)

i don't understand...it says (in the easter eggs section) pressing L turns the lights out. i tried it and it doesn't do anything. above it says Ctrl-L...i tried that too and it didn't work. what's up? am i doing something wrong? --StrongBad110990 21:14, 18 October 2005 (UTC)

Make sure you are clicked on the flash part of the page, not the outside. Then try L. -- DBK!

Also, it doesn't work in the 2004 mirror file. Homsarian79 22:08, 22 October 2007 (UTC)

Punkin Stencils?

It appears that TBC, following the likes of Decemberween and Labor Dabor, have named the pumpkin stencils punkin stencils. Anybody think this page could use a move, or at least a redirect, and perhaps a meantion on the article opening. Any suggestions? Thunderbird 01:56, 19 October 2005 (UTC)

That's not a bad idea. All of the references in the Flash coding say "punkin" instead of "pumpkin". — It's dot com 02:25, 19 October 2005 (UTC)
It seems like there's not TOO too many links to the page, so I'm gonna go ahead and move it to Punkin Stencils, and leave this as a redirect. Thunderbird 04:08, 19 October 2005 (UTC)

'04 link

Does anybody know of a mirror of the '04 version we could link to under external links? Might be a nice addition. Thunderbird 04:24, 19 October 2005 (UTC)

I have a local copy on my hard drive that I can easily host on a mirror site. I'll go ahead and add an external link to the Shockwave Flash file. Nice thinking, T-Bird. —THE PAPER PREEEOW 23:52, 28 October 2005 (UTC)

Original Release Date?

I didn't see it in our list of updates. Does anybody know when the first version was released? '03? '02? '01? Ever? Thunderbird 16:31, 21 October 2005 (UTC)

Another Glitch

If you click on one of the pumpkins then exit the stencil editor the pumpkin you clicked on stays big(Like when you hold the cursor over it.). You can get every pumpkin to be large by doing the same thing to every pumpkin.

Organization

I think this page should be split into more distinct sections, almost like it was two or more pages presented back-to-back. Perhaps a table or something for the different years. I dunno, it's late and I'm tired, so I'm just brainstorming before I go to sleep. The conveyor section should list all the punkins, in order, without referring to the other years. — It's dot com 07:18, 22 October 2007 (UTC)

Yeah, definitely, right now it doesn't provide enough distinction between the sections -Jdhannan 13:59, 22 October 2007 (UTC)
I agree. With all that. OptimisticFool 14:33, 22 October 2007 (UTC)

Inside References

Is a reference to Make-o Your Own Stink-o worth referencing or is it too speculatory? I also thought of adding a portrait reference, but the animation is too different from that email's carving scene. Bad Bad Guy 21:27, 22 October 2007 (UTC)

Well, the page title is definately a reference to Make-o Your Own Stinko, but I'm not so sure about portrait. SuperfieldCreditUnion
Well, it's different enough to cast doubt ("a" instead of "o", an extra "a" after "own"). 71.231.56.40 21:05, 12 November 2007 (UTC)

Framerate

Is it just me or is the Conveyor Belt stencil's framerate higher than normal? 71.231.56.40 21:52, 13 November 2007 (UTC)

Newwww Stuff!

There's a Peacey P logo, Crack Stuntman, and Nebulon now. Does anyone know when these were posted for sake of update...date? --Onamuji (b/w T. C.  ) 16:45, 13 October 2008 (UTC)

Today. OptimisticFool 17:11, 13 October 2008 (UTC)

Glitch!

Normal
Glitch?

When I was exploring through the page, the lines on the belt disappeared. Glitch or no? MichaelXX2 mail_icon.gif link_icon.gif 11:51, 15 October 2008 (UTC)

What lines? — Defender1031*Talk 14:13, 15 October 2008 (UTC)
There are normally lines on the belt. But one would need to know how to duplicate the glitch in order to describe how it happens... unless we just say, "Sometimes the lines on the belt disappear". I'd rather know how to do it so I can see it for myself. OptimisticFool 18:28, 15 October 2008 (UTC)
If you're talking about the lines at the sides of the belt, they're intentionally not there. you wouldn't be able to carve the pumpkin like that otherwise... — Defender1031*Talk 19:06, 15 October 2008 (UTC)
Lines at the sides of the belt? I don't know what that means.. anyway, I've added an image for comparison. OptimisticFool 19:38, 15 October 2008 (UTC)
It just sort of...happened. I hit Print Screen before it was too late... MichaelXX2 mail_icon.gif link_icon.gif 02:02, 16 October 2008 (UTC)
OH! the lines on the CONVEYOR belt... i thought you meant POM POM'S belt... yeah, looks like a glitch. See if someone can figure out how to recreate it. — Defender1031*Talk 02:06, 16 October 2008 (UTC)

Where We're Going We Don't Need... Bad Graphics

I found a goof in the 2009 version. When you click on all the pumpkins, and then click on the Devil Homestar stencil, the Bad Graphics Ghost appears to fill it in, but it instead floats in front of the conveyor belt below it and does not fill in the pumpkin since it was never filled in.

It's already on the page. --Jay (Talk) 20:04, 12 October 2009 (UTC)
