The Field?

I know it's a little early on to be worrying about this, but I've gone ahead and labeled the place where SB, SM and The Cheat are as The Field, although I'm doubting that it is. New page? Label it "A Field" without linking? Two cents? —FireBird|Talk 15:39, 17 October 2005 (UTC)

Well, it looks like the field to me, just without bushes. The entire art style in this toon is a naturally a little off. I think it's the field, but I wouldn't care if you called it something different. - Joshua 15:48, 17 October 2005 (UTC)

Easter Eggs?

Since we haven't gotten the direct Flash file yet, I can't use the seek bar to find Easter eggs. By the looks of it, I don't think there are any, but our good annonymous IP who crated the page apparently says there is ([{Strong Sad]] (Eater egg)). A Revelation for Homestar?

I'm not sure if this is important, but is this the first time that someone has mentioned to Homestar (or Homestar has admitted to himself) that he doesn't have arms? I know Strong Bad has mentioned his armlessness before, but always when alone and not within earshot of Homestar himself. I dunno if this counts as an important bit of data or not, but I just wanted to throw it out. Rocketlex 16:21, 17 October 2005 (UTC)

Actually, the 'implied' part in fingers is part of Strongbad's imagination no? (as shown by the dream bubbles and such). So it'd be little more then Strongbad again saying to himself that Homestar is harmless. Ghilz 22:44, 17 October 2005 (UTC)

Actually, my outlook on Homestar's "arms" are that they are obviously invisible. He carries things all the time. In fact, sometimes it is questionable about the invisible arms since in The Show, he can hold the microphone, hold the cards, and shuffle them at the same time. It almost seems that he can telekinetically move anything within a set range, as characters walking by (or crowding aroud) him never seem to run into his arms.=Kookykman(t)(c)(r)

I too have always thought telekinesis. Invisible arms is a tad elaborate, and telekinesis would explain how he is able to hold a microphone, hold the cards, and shuffle the cards all at the same time. It's not like Homestar has a really powerful mind and thus is able to use telekinesis, it's just his way of making up for having no arms. Though, alternately, I like the idea that because Homestar is so unaware of his lack of arms, he is able to pick things up without having arms, i.e., he "forgets" his lack of arms and acts like he can pick things up, and it works for some reason. ("How did you walk through that wall?" "I was able to because I forgot to use my laws of physics.") --Der Pepper

Don't be a Hater

After listening twice, I think the lyrics actually say "Strong Bad paints Marzipan", as opposed to "hates". I distinctly hear an N sound in there. This would also match up well with origins, a previous time when Strong Bad spray painted Marzipan. What say the rest of you? --DorianGray

Tricked Out Van

Song visuals

Why is it, that with things such as Experimental Film and rock opera, we split the music from the visuals, but here we put 'em all in the transcript? Is there some sort of standard at all? ⇔Thunderbird⇔ 17:26, 17 October 2005 (UTC)

It's because those two have several minutes of nothing but visuals and lyrics. This one is pretty short so the visuals can be insite the transcript. — Elcool ^(talk)_(contribs) 17:29, 17 October 2005 (UTC)

Well, the visuals usually get in the way of simply reading the song, but they are important for a knowledge base that collects as much info as possible. I think it's fine the way it is, but if we had to choose one way or the other, I'd go with a seperate page for visuals. - Joshua 20:03, 17 October 2005 (UTC)

I think "dooj" may be a variant (or the actual spelling of) the word "doosh" Strong Bad uses occasionally. (See Random Toon and TROGDOR!) --DorianGray

Of Snake Ladies, Nagas, and Warcraft

Snake/Human hybrids are, of course, not constrained to Warcraft and date back to Indian and Asian mythology. In fact, the name Naga isn't even constrained to Warcraft and denotes a wide variety of snake like mythical creatures in southern Asia. I propose the dropping of that particular reference and letting the Cheat's snake lady just be a product of his imagination rather than yet another spurious reference.

Bad Guy!

Considering this is a toon described "Going back to our roots", Isn't the entire basis of the toon is a reference to how StrongBad was more of a villian earlier on in the series? Maybe? 20X6 GEM

Richey Edwards reference?

"The For Real Deal"-tattoo may be a reference to Richey Edwards, and the infamous interview he did with NME journalist Steve Lamacq. Lamacq asked Edwards if he and his band Manic Street Preachers were serious about their music. Edwards tried to convince Lamacq by carving "4-real" into his forearm.
