::Well I agree with Darth in that this page is somewhat pointless, but holding that aside, I don't see simply ending a sentence with the word "style" like that as irregular. Something like "corn-style chips" is pretty odd (and rather funny), but the 4 I mentioned don't stick out as a joke to me. I also think that Nebulon's "style" isn't irregular, but it's probably the phrase that started the whole darn page so I'm not touching it. Let me put this simply, the freakin' word "style" is NOT a running gag in the so-called "Homestar Runner universe." How do you people come up with this stuff? It's NOT. IT'S JUST A WORD. Darth Katana X (discussionitem_icon.gif user.gif mail_icon.gif)

I think this article should be cleaned up. The first intent was to list places where the word "style" is used in a non-convetional way, not every appearance of it. Elcool (talk)(contribs) 08:06, 10 July 2006 (UTC)
Darth, I have just about had it with these comments of yours. Is it that hard to say something polite like "I don't think the word "style" is a running gag. It's really just a word"? We don't have to put up with this. If I see this again, I won't hesitate to block you. Please understand, I am not objecting to the fact that you don't like this article, but rather your rudeness in writing your comment about it. Heimstern Läufer 08:31, 10 July 2006 (UTC)
I think the problem with this article was that it had too broad a scope (see below). When you limit the scope a little, the gag becomes more apparent. — It's dot com 13:34, 10 July 2006 (UTC)

Scope

I removed the following items from the list:

I don't think they belong, because they are using the word "style" exactly as it's meant to be used. When you remove these from the list, it's more apparent that there really is a running gag going on with the other list items. (Note that I'm not sure I pruned all the ones that needed to be pruned. Some of them were close calls.) — It's dot com 13:34, 10 July 2006 (UTC)

Good point. It's like writing an article on the word "Star" and calling it a "word running gag." Darth Katana X (discussionitem_icon.gif user.gif mail_icon.gif)

This is considering deletion...

Just look at this talkpage. It's all about considering deleting it. So, the TBD sign is appropriate, so that people see it and can talk about whether they want to keep it or not. Otherwise if we come to the decision and delete it, it may confuse people why there was no tag. But hey, it's an edit by me, and no matter what I wrote, someone would have to revert it just because it's me, regardless of who's right and who's wrong! Hooray! Darth Katana X (discussionitem_icon.gif user.gif mail_icon.gif)

No need to be so cynical, Darth Katana X. But regardless of the fact that it's your edit to place the tag on the page, I don't believe the reason should be because there's a general conversation loosely wrapped around deleting the page. If you can come up with some reasons as to why the page should be deleted and is unable to be fixed otherwise, please do so. — Lapper (talk) 05:29, 18 July 2006 (UTC)
Katana, you claimed that I supported the deletion of this page and used that as a justification to put the TBD tag on it. Apparently you misinterpreted my comments above. I support this page, with some caveats: Whenever the word style is used normally ("not really my style"), it should not go on this list. Whenever it is used for humorous purposes ("ice style cream", "buffalo style journalism"), it should go on this list. My point above is that when you take out the ones that don't belong in the list, is easier to see that the ones that remain in the list form a running gag. — It's dot com 16:22, 18 July 2006 (UTC)
Whatever. This article really sucks the fun out of Homestar Runner, or as Joey Day once appropriately said, "squeezes the poop out of the fly." It should be deleted. Darth Katana X (discussionitem_icon.gif user.gif mail_icon.gif)

(Note: I think darth is taking this waaay too sertiously. If he took a step back and actually looked at the page, I'm sure he would see that it's really not that bad.) The Big Eye 05:26, 8 December 2006 (UTC)

Scope revisited

"Comedy stylings" is a common phrase used in the real world. Therefore, there's nothing notable here about the use of "style" in that context. Comments? Qermaq - (T/C) Image:Qermaqsigpic.png 02:56, 8 August 2006 (UTC)

I agree. If we add theme song, we should also add stand-up, because almost the same phrase was used (comedic stylings). It sounds odd to me because the word "comedy" is used, which isn't the most correct form of the word. So makey outy 03:24, 8 August 2006 (UTC)
For what it's worth, there are quite a few hits on Google for the phrase "comedy stylings". Qermaq - (T/C) Image:Qermaqsigpic.png 03:29, 8 August 2006 (UTC)
With no dissent noted, i am removing the reference. Qermaq - (T/C) Image:Qermaqsigpic.png 02:36, 11 August 2006 (UTC)

Not really a gag, just usages, or at least in my opinion:

My edits got reverted. Maybe I'm the only one who agrees with Darth.
