Aquabats video

Moved from Talk:The Aquabats

Regarding this edit. Although it's only for a few seconds it's still TBC/H*R content, so it needs a transcript and a transcript needs an article and that article is not this one IMO. But probably not a full transcript. Even a short article would be sufficient. --Stux 03:20, 11 August 2018 (UTC)

Update: I've created an article for the video. While short, I think it contains wiki-relevant information. It could be merged into this article, but I don't personally think it should since we already have a separate article for the interview and this one is for the Aquabats topic as a whole. I could be wrong though. --Stux 03:51, 11 August 2018 (UTC)
Strong Bad appeared in the Dad's Garage Kickstarter video four years ago, but we don't have an article for that. This Respectively French endorsement from a decade ago isn't even mentioned on the wiki. If we're creating pages for several-second cameos and endorsements, we should at least have some consistency. One option would be to create separate pages for each one (like the Aquabats Kickstarter page), but I don't think that's the best choice, considering they're so short and there's hardly anything to say about them. The second choice would be to create only one page, called [[Cameos]] or [[Endorsements]], and put the transcripts there. The third option (the one I support the most), is to merge each transcript to its page. (The Aquabats transcript would be put on The Aquabats page, the Dad's Garage transcript would be on Dad's Garage, etc.) After all, the Aquabats Kickstarter page is so short, I don't see why it shouldn't just be part of this page. Wow! I didn't know there were a few cameos that were neglected. Excellent finds!
Now, here's my opinion on the page structure along with my rationale behind it (which I hope makes sense): for the Aquabats and Dad's Garage Kickstarter videos I think the videos should have their own pages. The reason for this is that I think they cover somewhat different topics. One page deals with, for example, The Aquabats project as a whole including all contributions; the Kickstarter video page is structured to contain information links and categories relevant to the video itself and not the project in its entirety. Even the character videos (like The Cheat's) are short but isolated (though these are more prominent examples than this cameo). Each character video page only talks about the video itself.
Combining the pages might, for example, give the impression that The Aquabats is a Homestar Runner film in its category; but just reading the article would resolve any such misunderstanding. So it's not a huge deal, but I think it would be better organized if kept separate.
Finally, just because a page is short doesn't mean it can't exist; each page serves its purpose as a logical unit that covers a topic of discussion. So, I think, in the long run it makes more sense to keep the pages separate.
The Respectively French endorsement on the other hand, is a project that TBC endorsed only once so having a single page for it would suffice.
Finally, it would also be good to have a [[Cameos]] or [[Endorsements]] page (I can't decide which one's better) to tie them all together. UPDATE: I've made an article with both: Cameos and Endorsements --Stux 02:41, 12 August 2018 (UTC)
