[edit] 2 things

1. Should the preview or whatever pic (the one at the top) have a caption that matches the scene it's in?
2. I think the 'Unrecognizable Summer Movie Tie-in' sammich is shaped like a plane, not a star. (look at the 'fin' things on the sides). —Einstein runner (thorax.pngfile_icon.gifmail_icon.gif) 22:09, 30 June 2008 (UTC)

1. I don't think it matters...
2. I didn't really try to interpret what that thing was very well, so change it if you want. DevonM(talk·cont-ribs) 22:11, 30 June 2008 (UTC)
Actually, I thought the "Unrecognizable Summer Movie Tie-in" resembled one of Batman's throwing bats (which I learned yesterday are called "Glaives", kind of like a Shuriken, only bigger and able to return like a boomerang). I assumed it had to do with "The Dark Knight" coming out (It's kind of "The Sequel!" to Batman Begins). 71.161.73.21 00:33, 1 July 2008 (UTC)
1. Personally, I think they should usually match, but there's many instances in this wiki where they don't.
2. It was meant to be unrecognizable, to look not exactly like one thing, but not quite another thing, and almost but not really like something else. So, you're all right. --.Johnny Jupiter! talk cont 23:36, 28 August 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Worldy / Warbly

Also, does Homestar say wordly or warbly at the end? —Einstein runner (thorax.pngfile_icon.gifmail_icon.gif) 22:21, 30 June 2008 (UTC)

I heard Wordly Mista Mono 22:23, 30 June 2008 (UTC)
I heard Warbly. (I made the change to the transcript before seeing it was discussed here).  Green Helmet 22:31, 30 June 2008 (UTC)
I heard Warbly ~ MBD123

Shouldn't "warbly theme song" be mentioned in Inside References? (In TGS when they went to camp they sang a "warbly campfire song")

I agree with you that it's an inside ref to TGS, but, sign your posts man, do you know how many wiki rules you just broke by not signing your posts? ...well just one, sign your posts, man--Slackerboy 16:49, 5 July 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Yella Paint

Why does Strong Bad have yellow stuff on his head during his discussion with Homestar? Are we to assume his sandwich-cicle had mustard on it? Or is this a referecne I'm not getting? --Jeff J. W.(Talk·Contribs)hr.png 23:04, 30 June 2008 (UTC)

He has the mustard on his face. Mista Mono 23:13, 30 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] put that thing through its paces/bases

I'm pretty sure Coach Z says put that thing through its paces, not bases (that is the phrase after all).

Yeah but hes known to mess stuff up: ::by jaredtoy

No, i hear paces. messing up here wouldn't be funny... He only messes up when it's funny. — Defender1031*Talk 02:07, 1 July 2008 (UTC)
Agreed. If he were messing it up, he would have said "porces."

[edit] They fixed it

I just watched it again and the previously changing sandwich is now a taste tested one throughout the whole short. I therefor changed the remark.--Cass from Germany 15:30, 1 July 2008 (UTC)

Anyone have a mirrorable version of the un-fixèd toon? --Lukeonia1 20:38, 1 July 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Nothing For Coach Z

I don't know if you guys want to add this or something, but I think Coach Z can't get anything not because of Bubs, because the King of Town ate everything. The napkin was all he had left.

Yeah, that's the joke. — Defender1031*Talk 17:07, 1 July 2008 (UTC)
Is there a running gag about Bubs giving Coach Z no respect? Remember the fall float parade? "Coach Z, you jerk!" I think Bubs might just be holding out on Coach Z in this cartoon because he has contempt for him, and Coach Z is too blind to realize that they are not true friends. Another citation would be the song they sing together, where Bubs claims all the royalties, essentially taking advantage of Coach Z. — 76.167.90.250 (Talk | contribs) 10:26, 3 July 2008 (left unsigned)

[edit] No easter eggs???

It's been a while since there was a video (toon, short, sbemail, etc.) without any easter eggs. Now I would go and see when the last time was but as far as I can tell it was bottom 10.

Actually, by a quick glance, the last time that I can tell was The Homestar Runner Gets Something Stuck In His Craw. It happens occasionally. After all, it's not required. --DorianGray 04:31, 2 July 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Dog Food

Here's the original Flash file, complete with dog food. OptimisticFool 09:55, 2 July 2008 (UTC)

Any chance of getting someone to re-upload this somewhere? The RS link is dead. --Emtu 06:53, 28 November 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Take a bite out of it!

Ok, who here thought of the SBLOUNSKCHED bar/pants during the "shaped like there's a bite taken out of it" part? Revelance? --71.121.142.173 06:45, 3 July 2008 (UTC)

Good catch. It may have crossed my mind, but I never really noticed it. I guess the only promblem (sic) is how to word it. SuperfieldCreditUnion

You could say in remarks.. "Bubs baloney sandwhich 'shaped' like it has a bite out of it could be a reference to the SBLOUNSKCHED bar." --lustmyeyes <3 08:34, 5 July 2008 (UTC)

[edit] 80s bike

I was wondering whether Homestar's BMX bike is a particular model. I remember bikes having those solid spoke covers, but I don't know whether that makes it identifiable? —AbdiViklas 17:42, 3 July 2008 (UTC)

I think it's the same bike he used in bike thief. If so, there might be details there (on the talk page, at least). --DorianGray 18:37, 3 July 2008 (UTC)
Update: According to the page, "Homestar's bike is a Huffy SIGMA circa 1987". So there you go then. --DorianGray 18:49, 3 July 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Shape'd.

I'm suprised no one mentioned the running gag on d's or 'eds in Inside References.

There's not really a reference in the cartoon as far as I see...unless Bubs' saying "shaped" and coming down hard on the last two letters counts. DevonM(talk·cont-ribs) 07:49, 4 July 2008 (UTC)
We have a page sort of like that: -èd. I'm not sure it's pronounced correctly to get on that page, though. --DorianGray 18:49, 4 July 2008 (UTC)
Yeah, i don't think it is. — Defender1031*Talk 18:57, 4 July 2008 (UTC)
It's definitely not. Compare Bubs saying "shapèd plants" in Weclome Back. In that case, the last sound is "ed," like the first syllable of "education." Here, the letters "ed" are pronounced like a highly emphasized "t." It's a completely different way of emphasising the past tense. -Anony

[edit] Man, Man

Hasn't there been a few incidents where a character say "Man, man"? Should this be noted? --lustmyeyes <3 08:35, 5 July 2008 (UTC)

From personal favorites:
  • COACH Z: {to Pom Pom} Hoo-ah! Woo-ghi! I'm a blade-man, man!
From 4 branches:
  • HOMESTAR RUNNER: Man, oh man, oh man! Man! Moving into this mascot costume was probably the coolest and least locking-myself-out-of-my-house-enest decision I ever made!
From strong badathlon:
  • STRONG BAD: {typing} Man, man, we should start putting those Homestar Vs. Homestar fights on pay-per-view. Instant classics!
From The Baloneyman:
  • HOMESTAR RUNNER: What? You didn't hear man? Man, man. This kid, was doin' a flip on his 180. Busted his head, man. Busted his head.
Here are the incidents you ordered. Just did a Google search for "man man" and found these. I don't think they're all what you're looking for, but the instances in strong badathlon and The Baloneyman seem to be. But I'd guess a running gag article would get rejected 'round her' with just two related instances. OptimisticFool 15:36, 5 July 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Sammichs

How many sammichs you think he has? -Sonicfirestorm44

I quote:
"At the time Bubs is conversing with The King of Town, he apparently has on hand at least 36 of everything. Since Bubs has at least six varieties of sandwich (not including the 'Summer Movie Tie-in Sammich'), he would have at least 216 sandwiches in his truck."
That's a lot of Sammiches, and pretty optimistic of him to have so many on hand considering he sold zero Sammiches in the summer of 2006. Although I guess there was the summer of 2007, and we don't know how many he sold then. Hmmm.. =] OptimisticFool 19:06, 5 July 2008 (UTC)
Can you imagine how much he must of spent on bread if he gave the KOT all of his sammichs? -Sonicfirestorm44
So lustmyeyes <3 = Sonicfirestorm44 ? Isn't that called sockpuppeting? And what do you mean, create a new page? A new page for what? OptimisticFool 20:54, 6 July 2008 (UTC)
I think that this post was accidentally added here rather than in the section above, as the section above WAS in fact LME and the post makes more sense there. — Defender1031*Talk 23:43, 6 July 2008 (UTC)
Ah. That would make sense. Forget I said anything about sockpuppeting. OptimisticFool 01:07, 7 July 2008 (UTC)

Sorry, newbie mistake. I feel quite stupid. --lustmyeyes <3 02:11, 13 August 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Proper Noun

I'm inclined to think that Sammich is a proper noun. A "brand" if you will. Like Popsicle, for example. No reason to replace the word "sandwich" with "Sammich" everywhere, but when we use the word "Sammich", I think it should be capitalized. Any complaints? OptimisticFool 19:14, 5 July 2008 (UTC)

Yes. They use alternate made up words for lots of stuff. Awexome, burninate, congraturation, Decemberween (wait, that last one IS a proper noun, but at least it's alphabetical) anyway, the point is there's no reason to assume that it is until they say it is. It's not like it's called "Blubb-O's" or anything... (Come to think of it, it'd be cool if they had the baloneyman and blubbos compete...) — Defender1031*Talk 03:51, 6 July 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Strong Bad Eyelids

It looks like SB lowers his eyelids while rubbing the sammich on his head. Is this the first time that has happened? I never see him blink or anything.

Nope. He doesn't blink, but he does lower his eyelids (and even his lower eyelids once) on occasion. His face is unexpectedly expressive. --DorianGray 18:52, 6 July 2008 (UTC)

[edit] 'Faint hum'

"When Bubs is talking to the King of Town, a faint hum can be heard on Bubs' initial three responses." I think the 'faint hum' is actually part of the KoT's lines: "I'll have one of everything, hmm, two of everything, hmm, three of everything..." Or, that's what it sounds like to me.

[edit] Dog Food Sandwich

Could it, should it, would it be mentioned in the bit about the dog food sandwich in the Trivia section that it was on the truck in Welcome Back (and, by extension, the taste-tested one was not)? No? Okay just asking. *hit with a kid getting hurt on a bike*
