One time when viewing this cartoon I was given the option of giving a bottle of pills that said "Akira" on it. Naturally I chose them, and after they were eaten (I don't remember who I gave them to) the person's arm shot out and grew a la Tetsuo in the Akira movie. Has anyone else ever seen this? If so then how can I get it again?

Stupid Case Sensitiveness...

To the Admins:

I moved this page (from the old wiki) because there was a link pointing to it. I was unaware at the time that there was already in existance a page nearly identical to this one (the only difference is it has the word "that" capitalized). Please delete this page. I have already corrected the small amount of other pages that were linking here erroneously (Where those pages should have linked to: The House That Gave Sucky Treats)

--Teh P. 05:21, 17 Sep 2004 (MST)

I did delete this page. Then The House That Gave Sucky Treats (capital "t") was moved here (lowercase "t") shortly thereafter. I'm curious as to why. -- Tom 10:39, 18 Sep 2004 (MST)
It should be a capital T. Besides being good English (subordinating conjunctions are capitalized in title case), it's listed with a capital T on homestarrunner.com. — It's dot com 10:30, 13 Jul 2005 (UTC)

The Lightswitch

Does anyone know what the light switch is for in this toon? That's been bugging me for.. I guess a year now :)
MetaStar 23:50, 13 Sep 2004 (MST)

It doesn't do anything. -- InterruptorJones 07:32, 14 Sep 2004 (MST)

If it doesn't do anything, then why have it? Is it just to make us go nutz-o over a freggin' flash lighswitch, determined to figure out what it does?!

Strong Sad's Comment

At the end when all the ccharacters are having a conversation- strong sad talks about a room where people ask you questions about life- is this a reference to something? Does anyone know? -- Asploder

I think that it is strong sad being strong sad. Rogue Leader

I added my interpretation of this (i.e., reference to Christian "hell houses") in the Real-world References section. (It's not attributed there, so now you know who wrote it.) I'm starting to wonder if that was really the intention, though. Anyone else got thoughts on this? TheNicestGuy

I don't think that's it. A hell house has actors who depict the divine judgements to come, but Strong Sad makes it sound like they were actually about to judge him and send him there... or give him candy, one of the two. — It's dot com 16:15, 16 Sep 2005 (UTC)
Is this the only time where a character actually "cursed" ? 'Cuase I'm young, and didn't like that "damnation" bit, but the rest was HILLARIOUS!!! -WeirdAl (talk · 01:52, 6 February 2007 (UTC)

A Fun Fact

  • Coach Z's original opening line was 'Doot-da-doot-dooo and I think I'll make ya' fall down on your face, but first let me introduce myself, my name is Hoodsey. Pronounced with an Oodsey."

Can we get any confirmation on this particular fact? It doesn't quite sound right, but I don't want to remove it. I would've added this to the STUFF page, but since I have a severe mistrust of it these days, I figured this would work best. --TheNintenGenius 16:40, 15 Jan 2005 (MST)

It doesn't sound right to me, either. For some dumb reason, it seems more like "Doot-da-doot-dooo! I'd really like to see whatcha got on yer shelf, but first allow me to introduce myslef. My name is Coach Z, pronounced with an 'oach Z.'" to me...but what do I know?

I choose YOU

Hasn't anyone noticed that the text I choose YOU, ___chu, from when you vote for your favorite costume, is an obvious reference to Pokemon and the phrase: "I choose YOU, Pikachu!"

I think the more pertinent question is, did anybody actually MISS that reference? They'd have to be living under a rock for the past ten years. Aurora Szalinski 00:12, 23 Mar 2005 (MST)

I'm confused

did anybody actually vote? Did somebody win?

I don't think so, no. If it was up to me, Strong Bad would win with The Cheat as the runner-up (because he looks so cute at Punchy!)

According to a short from Everything Else 2, Strong Bad won, and Homestar and Marzipan were also in the top 3. Bad Bad Guy 19:10, 6 April 2007 (UTC)

Linux Problems?

To say that there are problems in Linux says little, as there are so many possible sound/browser configurations. It could be a bug in the flash player (what version?), a problem with the sound library (OSS? ALSA?), hardware, browser, kernel, etc... or it could be a problem with the flash file itself. Unfortunatly, I don't have a linux box, so I could not help, but could versions be mentioned somewhere? If it is a major problem, could there be a page about it?

Interesting though. I would expect it to be a problem with the porting of flash player.

I choose you pt.2

According to the disputed fun facts section it says don't refer to obvious things like poke'mon then on here it says The "I choose YOU, <insert character name here>chu" is an obvious reference to the show "Pokémon," where one character, Ash, has a similar famous line, "I choose YOU, Pikachu!"

Even in the fn fact itself it say's it's obvious, I rest my case-Anynonmous.

I don't think the STUFF instructions say that anymore. And this reference actually isn't that obvious... I don't have a clue what Pokémon is about. (And, really, couldn't you at least make up a fake name instead of just misspelling "anonymous"? At least you signed something, which is more than a lot of people do.) — It's dot com 10:08, 13 Jul 2005 (UTC)

Closed STUFF

Is Your Refrigerator Perry Running?

Strong Mad attempted almost the same prank greeting as in this toon on Marzipan's Answering Machine Version 4.0.

Homestar

Once again, Homestar says he has to pee. How many times has he said that already?--Ava

Spanish Inquisition

For the Fun Fact about the Spanish Inquisition sketch, I think we should link the wikipedia article about the sketch rather than the real Inquisition. I also think we should give an example; http://spanishinq.ytmnd.com/ - Swimma Dan

The example is silly and unnecessary, and we already link to the article about the sketch. --Jay v.2024 (Auld lang syne) 06:09, 6 January 2006 (UTC)

Coach Z knocking

Did anyone else think it sounded like the rhythm from Everybody to the Limit?--Jnelson09 22:27, 8 February 2006 (UTC)

Just a typical hip-hop rhythm. But Bubs' knocking: "Hip Hop Dance" has an eighth rest on 4 and the word "dance" comes on the "and" of 4. Here the knock is square on 4. I think it's not close enough to be concidered that same trhythm. Qermaq - (T/C) Image:Qermaqsigpic.png 02:41, 27 February 2006 (UTC)

Carmen Freakin' San Miranda

Should it be noted that Strong Bad previously says "I'm Carmen Freakin'" in the last Halloween cartoon?

The Knight and the Hornblower

There appears to be no mention on this particular page that the Knight of Town (costumed as Idaho) and the Hornblower (costumed as B.C.) appear in the background when the KOT is at the door.

They're mentioned in the cast list, but I see no harm in putting them in the transcript too... --DorianGray

OMG! What the Crap?

In all the years on Homestar's Halloween toons, The Goblin appears, but why not in Halloween 2001?

He probably just wasn't an inside joke then. It was only a year after his debut. No biggie. - link_icon.gifThe Joe(Talk) 15:22, 21 November 2006 (UTC)
If I remember correctly, he wasn't in Halloween Fairstival either. Bad Bad Guy 19:10, 6 April 2007 (UTC)

Homestar's song

Is it a parody of a real song? Bad Bad Guy 19:11, 6 April 2007 (UTC)

Yes. See Real World References. --DorianGray 19:13, 6 April 2007 (UTC)

Stinkoman

when i did it i got stinkoman. anybody else? 74.167.3.246 00:49, 16 April 2007 (UTC)

Wrong toon. That's in 3 Times Halloween Funjob, in the place that references this toon. Heimstern Läufer 00:51, 16 April 2007 (UTC)

Give me something good to eat

Does anyone else think that we should add something about the page's title, "Trick, then treat, then smell feet"? Please tell me I'm not the only one who knows the original rhyme...I'll feel quite old. --Kiwi 17:36, 23 May 2007 (UTC)

Trick or treat, smell my feet, gimme something good to eat! If you don't, I don't care, I'll pull down your underwear! Yeah, I know it. It's been on the playground since forever, like. I'm surprised you haven't heard it in a while. --Homfrog 00:38, 28 March 2008 (UTC)

Eyes Wide Shut ref?

Ok, I was thinking about this today, could the house Strong Sad talks about with the room and the black hooded people... could this be a nod to the film Eyes Wide Shut? 63.253.45.138 21:19, 13 September 2007 (UTC)

Without asking TBC directly, it would be impossible to say for sure, but I find it highly unlikely. — It's dot com 21:53, 13 September 2007 (UTC)

marshmallow bunny

I'm not sure how to link to it, but I'm pretty sure the "Marshmallow bunny" is a Peeps marshmallow. Come to think of it, why don't we link to all the candy? --Homfrog 00:36, 28 March 2008 (UTC)

Akira

One time when viewing this cartoon I was given the option of giving a bottle of pills that said "Akira" on it. Naturally I chose them, and after they were eaten (I don't remember who I gave them to) the person's arm shot out and grew a la Tetsuo in the Akira movie. Has anyone else ever seen this?
